Getting Bad Applet class name exception while opening applet.

Hi,
  While opening an applet in my mac os x v10.6.8 machine i am getting "Bad Applet class name exception" which is working fine in mac os x v10.7.5.Java version in my mac is 1.6.0_43.Can anyone please help me to resolve this.

Apple barred Java from running on Macs in order to safeguard users by blocking Java 7 Update 11 and adding it to the banned list in XProtect.
This was the second time in two weeks that Apple had blocked Oracle's code from running on Macs. The threat was so serious that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security had recommended that all Java 7 users disable or uninstall the software until a patch was issued. This time Java is blocked through Apple's XProtect anti-malware feature.
Java has come under fire as the means by which hackers have been able to gain control of computers. In April 2012 more than 600,000 Macs were reported to have been infected with a Flashback Trojan horse that was being installed on people's computers with the help of Java exploits. Then in August Macs were again at risk due to a flaw in Java, this time around, there was good news for Mac users: Thanks to changes Apple has made, most of us were safe from the threat.
Unwilling to leave its customers open to potential threats Apple decided it's safer to block Java entirely.
In order to block older versions of Flash, Apple has updated its "Xprotect.plist" file so that any versions that come before the current one (version 11.6.602.171) cannot be used on a Mac. Users who have older versions of Flash installed will be greeted with an alert that says "Blocked plug-in," and Safari will prompt the user to update to a newer version.
Macs running OS X Snow Leopard and beyond are affected.
UPDATE for those running Lion or Mountain Lion:
Oracle on Friday February 1 released a new version reportedly addressing vulnerabilities seen with the last build.
Apple disabled Java 7 through the OS X XProtect anti-malware system, requiring users to have at least version "1.7.0_10-b19" installed on their Macs. The release dated February 1 carries the designation "1.7.0_13-b20," meeting Apple's requirements.
Oracle "strongly recommends" applying the CPU fixes as soon as possible, saying that the latest Critical Patch Update contains 50 new security fixes across all Jave SE products.
Update for Snow Leopard users:
Apple issued update 12 for Java for OS 10.6:
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1573
Note:  On systems that have not already installed Java for Mac OS X 10.6 update 9 or later, this update will configure web browsers to not automatically run Java applets. Java applets may be re-enabled by clicking the region labeled "Inactive plug-in" on a web page. If no applets have been run for an extended period of time, the Java web plug-in will deactivate.
If, after installing Java for OS X 2013-002 and the latest version of Java 7 from Oracle, you want to disable Java 7 and re-enable the Apple-provided Java SE 6 web plug-in and Web Start functionality, follow these steps:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5559?viewlocale=en_US
Further update:
Apple issued this Java related security update No. 13 on February 19:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5666
and Update No. 14 on March 4:  http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1573
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5677
You should also read this:
https://support.apple.com/kb/HT5672
The standard recommendation is for users to turn off Java except when they have to use it on known and trusted websites (like their bank). Javascript, which is unrelated despite the name, can be left on.

    Is this version (Oracle forms 11g, JRE 1.7.0_17) supported by OATS-OpenScript ?
    Please advise if there is any work around here.

    From the last OATS release notes available in the C:\OracleATS\docs directory:
    4.1 Oracle Functional Testing/OpenScript
    Oracle Functional Testing’s OpenScript scripting platform has the following system
    requirements:
    ■ Operating System (32-bit and 64-bit versions): Windows XP, Windows Vista,
    Windows 2003, Windows 7, Windows 2008, Windows 2008 R2.
    ■ Memory: Minimum 1 GB
    ■ System: x86, 32-bit or 64-bit processor, 2.6 GHz or faster
    ■ Disk Space: 4 GB minimum
    ■ Browser: Internet Explorer 7.x, 8.x., 9.x; Firefox 3.5/3.6, 6.x, 10; Chrome 27+
    (playback only).
    ■ Java Runtime Environment: JRE 1.6 minimum (up to build 38), JRE 1.7 (up to build
    11) .
    So basically, it's not supported... Can you try with another JRE version?
    As always don't forget to run OpenScript as administrator on W7/8 or equivalent

  • Is it possible to get the main class name in a Thread context ?

    for example, i want to get the main class name (the first entry of the program).
    public class Test implements Runnable {
         public Test() {}
         public static void main(String[] args) {
              new Thread(new Test()).start();
         public void run() {
              try {
                   //Want to get the main class name (not the current class name)
                   throw new Throwable();
              } catch (Throwable e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
    }

    Acutally, i wanna make clear about the concept of a "Thread"
    Is it true that ..
    the main() method is a thread , once I create another thread in the program , both of (or all of them) will contains it owns stack exception information ?
    My english is poor, please try to understand it. Thx

  • How to get the current class name in static method?

    Hi,
    I'd like to get the current class name in a static method. This class is intended to be extended. So I would expect that the subclass need not to override this method and at the runtime, the method can get the subclass name.
    getClass() doesn't work, because it is not a static method.
    I would suggest Java to make getClass() static. It makes sense.
    But in the mean time, does anybody give an idea to work around it?
    Thank you,
    Bill

    Why not create an instance in a static method and use getClass() of the instance?
    public class Test {
       public static Class getClassName() {
          return new Test().getClass();

  • Getting an Out of memory exception while validating XML against XSD

    Hello friends,
    I am getting an Out Of Memory exception while validating my XML against a given XSd which is huge.

            saxParserFactory.setValidating(true);
              SAXParser saxParser = saxParserFactory.newSAXParser();

    Thanks.

    Yes, but increasing the heap size is a temporary solution , isnt there a way where the XML can be validated against an XSD without having to load XSD in memory

  • 'Class Cast Exception' while invoking a EJB from a Servlet

              Hi,
              I am working on J2EE applications.I am using Webgain studio and weblogic server.I
              got a problem while invoking EJB from the servlet.
              While calling an EJB from the servlet, it is giving that "Class Cast Exception".This
              is because, the remote home reference is not able to type casted to the"Home Interface"

  • How to hide applet .class name in html under CODE= applet.class?

    I want the user not to know about my .class name in the source code.
    I know there is a way in javascript.
    Does anybody knows how to do it?
    in other words...in the following code ..the user can know what it the .class name of my applet..and can download the NewJApplet.class
    on his/her computer easily..
    remember it could be .class or .jar file FYI.
    Thanks in advance

  • Class loading exceptions while importing Spring, EHCache in BPMStudio 10g

    Hi,
    We are facing Class loading / Class NOt Found exceptions while importing Spring.jar and EHCache.jar in BPMStudio 10g Catalog and BPM Enterprise Server 10g. Java classes are bundled in an external JAR file. This JAR is referencing Spring and EHCache library. This Java component is invoked from an automatic activity in BPM process. Task execution is failing in BPM workspace in Studio and Enterprise server.
    We tried copying the JARS in the following folders. But nothing is working.
    D:\OraBPMStudioHome\lib
    D:\OraBPMStudioHome\ext
    D:\OraBPMStudioHome\webapps\workspace\WEB-INF\lib
    D:\OraBPMStudioHome\webapps\workspace\WEB-INF\classes
    <Enterprise_Server_WL_Home>/server/<Domain_Lib>

    Ariel,
    You are right. I have already added the JARS as external resource. I am getting the errors while cataloging Java component in BPM Studio in a Catalog Module. I am able to add Log4J Jar as an external resource and catalog the resource as java component. In case one JAR has a dependency on another JAR it is failing to catalog. In Eclipse or Weblogic Workshop 10g, we can add multiple JARS in the Project classpath and it works fine. In case of BPM Studio, we are getting Class Loading or ClassNotFound errors while cataloging multiple JAR files
    Thanks
    Subhabrata

  • Swing Applet Class Names. Help!!

    I`ve written an applet to put on my web page. I use Kawa to compile my Java files. The problem I have is that when I try and upload my .class files to the server, it says the filenames I`m using are illegal.
    The main applet class contains an inner class that contains the event listeners. The main class is called Frame and the inner class called Listener. This means that when I compile I end up with the .class files, Frame.class and Frame$Listener.class. I believe the server wont allow the dollar symbol, $. Is there any way I can get around this without rewriting my applet???
    Thanks

    First, applet doesn't run out of the server...it's run out of the user's system. Second, to some servers, a $ in the name of the file is considered an illegal character -- in cases like this, the only way to get around it is to put all of your class files in a jar like so:
    jar -cf myJar.jar *.class
    and in your HTML, your applet tag would look like this:
    <APPLET CODE="myApplet" CODEBASE="." ARCHIVE="myJar.jar" WIDTH=100 HEIGHT=100>
    </APPLET>
    where myApplet is the name of your main class and myJar.jar is the jar file created with the jar command shown above.
    ;o)

  • How can i get all java class names from a package using reflection?

    hi,
    can i get all classes name from a package using reflection or any other way?
    If possible plz give the code with example.

    You can't, because the package doesn't have to be on the local machine. It could be ANYWHERE.
    For example, via a URLClassLoader (ie from the internet) I could load a class called:
    com.paperstack.NobodyExpectsTheSpanishInquisitionI haven't written it yet. But I might tomorrow. How are you going to determine if that class is in the package?
    This subject comes up a lot. If you want to do something a bit like what you're asking for (but not quite) there are plenty of threads on the subject. Use google and/or the forum search facility to find them.
    But the answer to your question, as you asked it, is "you can't do that".

    Hi Armin, Josue
    Thanks for the reply
    Please note I am able to open an external window( browser ) thru my code with "File" protocol.
    I have no issue opening an external window or using File protocol.
    I am able to open an image/doc with a normal URL as follows
    File://mww/documents/image.jpg
    or
    File://mww/document/temp.csv
    But My URL has some system( thru Other applications ) generated charaters in it , I need get the path from DB( which I have done ) and pass this URL to the ExternalNonModalWindow as paramter.
    MY code is opening successfully the external  window for any URL .
    but for URL which has these character { }  is throwing the invalid URL error
    for the below URL, I am getting the error
    File://mww/Documents/Attachments/2008/10/56254/{FD803B0D-157F-47F9-A5A8-C687E1DC6B96}_break.JPG
