How do I add Segments of Time in Numbers '09?

Aloha:
I am trying to wean myself off of Microsoft... so I'm trying to set up a TV Show Rundown sheet in Numbers.  I can do it easily in Excel but can't figure it out in Numbers.  Help....
After a Description Column, I have two columns displaying Time.  The Left Column shows the length of the specific segment and the Right Column shows when it begins within the total Elapsed Time.  For example:
show open id     0:00:15    0:00:00
Opening VO      0:00:45     0:00:15
Title Package    0:00:20     0:01:00
On Camera 1     0:01:30    0:01:20
So the 1st element is 15 seconds long, and it starts at 0:00:00 on the clock
The 2nd element is 45 seconds long, and it starts at 0:00:15 on the clock
The 3rd element is 20 seconds long, and it starts at 0:01:00... one minute in
Th 4th element is 90 seconds long, and it starts at 0:01:20...
And so on.  In Excel, I would set up the two columns with the right display but enter the data as clock time.  So the 1st element is 15 seconds long, but if you double click on the cell, you would see it as 12:00:15 AM but when you released the cell it read as 0:00:15.  In Excel, I could just set up a simple formula where it added those 2 cells in the row above it.  It returned a running time, and I could just keep entering segment times.  I could time out elements for a 30 second spot or a 60 minute show.  I also use it to time the songs in any given set of music my band plays.  A very simple way to add up discreet moments of time passing.
If I'm reading Numbers correctly... which I may not be doing... it doesn't seem to want to add up two time entries.  But then I read Duration is perfect for adding Time.  But beyond formating the cells as Duration, I'm just not seeing the next step.  Plus if I enter in any number like "2", the display says 2h 0m 0s. 
Can someone show me the right direction to go?  Thanks in advance for any tips...

"I used to enter in a lot of Time Code into Word.  I would use the numeric keyboard and some third party software that changed the key strokes.  In Word, I would change "Opt ." in the numeric keyboard to ":".  And "Shift ."  would type as ";".  I could very quickly enter in numbers like14:23:18;00 just on the numeric keyboard."

To replace one or more characters with one or more different characters, select
“Symbol and text substitution.” Then use the rows in the table to define and activate
specific substitutions. For example, when you type (c), you can have Numbers
automatically convert it to © by putting a checkmark in the On column. To add a row
to the table to define your own substitution, click the Add button. To remove a
selected item, click the Delete (–) button.
After you specify substitution settings, they’ll apply to any text you change or add in
any Numbers spreadsheet.

    Glad to hear that you found how to edit page headers and footers in Numbers 3.2. I agree that Help in Numbers 3 is woeful. No searchable PDF to download and use offline. All is online (one page at a time) and we need to know the terms we are looking for before we look.

    For printing to paper where layout is important, I use Numbers '09 (Numbers 2.3) with its Print View. But it is orphanware. As the name suggests, there has not been a major overhaul since 2009. With that in mind, it is a useful version to hang onto while we hope and wait (and provide feedback to Apple) for something in future versions of Numbers 3.x to provide better layout capability.
    Indeed, each new update of Numbers 3.x has restored more of the old features while adding new features that are enhancements over Numbers '09. Many of the Numbers 3 enhancements reflect long-awaited wishes through this forum, and were passed on by Numbers Feedback to Apple. So it seems that Apple does take heed of feedback.
    In the meantime, I enjoy the charm of Numbers '09 whilst exploring the new features of Numbers 3.

    Some workarounds are no longer needed, but what amazes me is how many Numbers '09 features (the so-called "lost" features) were not lost; the settings have simply been moved. Moreover, many features such as margin settings carry over with a Numbers '09 document or template into Numbers 3.

    I'm in way over my head when it comes to using formulas (other than the quick calculations) and I could do with some of your expertise if possible?
    I'm a freelance graphic designer and I'm trying to produce a quoting system to calculate costs for print only, design only and both of these combined.

    1) The numbers from D4 to H4 are fictional quotes supplied by printers - how do I add a percentage to these (in this example 20%) and then have the total of both below, in row 6? Is it possible to show the 20% increase as currency (as my example in D5)? e.g. on the table, D4 is £475.00, D5 should be £95.00 and D6 should be £570.00? - I could then SUM both D4 and D5 to get the total in D6.
    2) The numbers in D8 to H8 are example hours for design time and I'd like to add values to these cells so that the totals appear as currency below in rows 9 and 10. The 2 values would be based on a standard hourly rate e.g. £40 per hour and reduced rate e.g. £25 per hour. (I have added these already to show you what it would say if it worked - ideally I would like this to be calculated for me when I change the numbers in row 8)?
    Any help will be really appreciated (my head hurts)...

    I am working with a data set that includes a group of people that arrive at a location in a time range. I have these plotted on a scatter chart but I want to show a benchmark line and then how far off we are on that benchmark.
    How d I do this?

    If you want to plot another line on the chart, create two X,Y data points for the line in another set of columns in your table and plot it as a second series.  For example, if your original X data is in column B and Y data in column C, use column D and E for these other two points.  After you have those two points, click on your chart. A blue box will surround the data you have plotted in columns B&C. At the bottom right corner is a little circle. Drag it to the right until the box covers your new data in columns D&E.  The default is X-Y pairs so the box should have an X over columns B and D and a Y over columns C and E. Your chart should show a second series.
    If you want to get sophisticated, you can use formulas to make the data points for the benchmark.  For instance, you could use MIN(B) and MAX(B) to generate the min and max X values so the benchmark line dynamically adjusts to your other X data.

    The only method available to show current time in Keynote used Quartz Composer, however the current version of Keynote 6.2, does not support Quartz.

    Type the first value in the first cell and the second value in the second cell, Select both cells, grab the Fill handle in the lower right corner (Numbers v2) and pull it down to extend the series as far as you want.

    Would like to have printed version of Numbers spreadsheet reflect present date and time.  I know how to do this in Excel, but can't figure out how to get there in Numbers.

    Add the date and time to the Header or Footer in the Print Dialog via the Insert menu.
    It is only semi-automatic, in that to update the date and time, you must either delete and reinsert the date and time, or you must open the token and update by clicking the Set to Today button.

    I have just started using TB 31.4 and am planning to move contacts (about 1400 from Outlook) into the TB Address Book. Many of my contacts have multiple email addresses, more than five telephone numbers, and more than two street addresses.
    In doing a small import test I noticed that TB only has space for five telephone numbers and two email addresses, two street addresses. Is there a way to add more so that I do not lose this data on the import?
    Is there a way to rename telephone number fields (as almost no one has a pager anymore)?
    Can you create a third street address location?
    I understand the use of custom fields but that seems less than satisfactory method.
