How to access Business object type attribute from a method/function modul ?

Hello,
i have created a business object type object along with attributes and methods. Now inside the method i want to access the attributes. inside the method i am writing:
data a type XXX.
a = me->attribute
this is creating a compilation error.
Now the method is defined as a function module in some package, so can anyone inform me how to access object attributes from the function module ?
pointes are awarded
Regards

Hello,
thanks for your answer, but this too did not work, "=>" is for static attributes and the attributes i have are not static. Moreover, i tried it but it gave the same error :
the abap error was when i was checking the code is :
the type me=>documenttype is unknown
as you know in SWO1 i created an object and when i create a method you link it to a function module and this is where you have the implementation of the method, so from this method how can i access the attributes on the main object that i created in SWO1

  • How to access Business Objects Explorer?

    I am new to Business Objects and would like to know how to access Business Objects Explorer from my local system. I have Business Objects XI 3.1 installed on my system.
    I would like to know if BO explorer requires a separate installation package? If yes, how can I acquire it?
    If No, what are the steps to integrate the BO Server with the BO explorer?

  • How to access Adapter Specific Message Attribute in my  own adapter module

    Hi,
    I'm developing a mail adapter customer module. Now I have a requirement about getting the CC information from mail. Even if I
    checked the option of "use mail package" when configing sender Mail Adapter, I still can not get CC information in my module
    because it is not included in mail package.
    I got to know CC information is included in ASMA(Adapter Specific Message Attribute), but how can I access ASMA in my module?
    Till now I know there are two ways to access ASMA
    1. use AF_Modules/DynamicConfigurationBean XI standard module to access ASMA.I did it as below:
    add this module in front of my own module, then set key: write http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/Mail SHeaderCC and value :
    <b>message.refToMessageId</b>(which message property should be put here?). I'm trying to get it by message.getRefToMessageId() in my
    own module. But what happens is not as I expected, I get null instead of CC information. Which step I did wrong?
    2. use mapping api
       DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) <b>container</b>
        .getTransformationParameters()
        .get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
         DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create(
             “http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/Mail”,
             “SHeaderCC”);
    but how can I get <b>container</b> object in my module?
    Is there any other way to access ASMA in customer module?
    Thanks

  • BUSINESS OBJECTS- Crystal Reports-based out of Function module

    We are right now creating BUSINESS OBJECTS- Crystal Reports. Our client requirement is to create this report based out of u201CFunction moduleu201D.
    With the current parameters settings at the Crystal Reports designer we are able to create the report based on View and Linking various table. The reports get executed and fetch data. But when we create a report based out of FM, the report returns nothing. The screen stays in u201CNot responding stageu201D and terminates after without any message/pop-up.
    Can anyone please help us resolving this? Are there any parameters/settings to be done which we are missing?
    Thanks,
    Pallavi

    Hi Pallavi,
    Not much info to go on. What version of Cr are you using?
    What database and version are you using?
    How are you connecting to the database, ODBC, OLE DB or native driver?
    Have you turned tracing on the server to what SQL is being passed from CR?
    Have you copied the SQL from Show SQL in the Designer and paste that into a DB SQL test tool to verify you should be getting data back and that you are not returning so much data it's going to take a week to get?
    Not responding simply means CR is waiting for data, try being patient and see if you ever get data or add a Record Selection formula so you only get a few rows of data.
    Try reporting off of a single table itself to verify it works and you have permission to run the SQL.
    Thank you
    Don

  • How to access Target field type, length from DT definition

    I have defined the XSD Type (String, Number, Date..) and the length in the DT for the Target message
    How do I access this info. in the mapping - so I can fill trailing spaces on String data, and zero-fill on Numeric data on the outbound XML MT ?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Satish,
    Thanks for this info.
    Exactly - I am trying to avoid Field length maintenance on every field level mapping.
    Currently, I have a  HashMap defined  as follows..
    empFieldLengthsMap = new HashMap();
    // emp field lengths
    empFieldLengthsMap.put("Record_Type","1");
    empFieldLengthsMap.put("Movement_Type","1");
    empFieldLengthsMap.put("Company_Code","3");
    and then a UDF that yields me the size as follows from the map
    String out = "";
    out =  (String) empFieldLengthsMap.get( targetField );
    if (out == null || out.equals("") ) {
        out = "0";
    return out;
    HOWEVER, I cannot get the target field to input into this UDF!   Any ideas?

  • Business Object Types for Z-tables

    hi
    could anyone please guide me how to create business-object-types for Z-tables?
    thanks in advance
    regards
    pavan

    Hi,
    Business objects (SWO1) are representations of business entities.
    So it is impossible to ask I need to create a business object for a z-table, because that's not business specific.
    Normally when you're faced with a BO issue, you first search for useable existing BO's. In there you also search if SAP has already provided the wanted functional requirement. If this is not present, you then search for a BO which is closest to the Functional requirement and then create a subtype of that BO en extend it to suit your needs (attributes, methods, events etc.) via delegation you can then also se it in sap standard.

  • Given a business object type, how to find out the underlying table name ?

    Hi,
    Given a business object type (e.g. BUSxxx), is there any Function Module that can be used to get the table name for that object ?
    Have been through the SWO* FM's but did not get anything yet.
    Pls let me know how this can be done.
    Regards,
    -Kev.

Given a table name, I am able to figure out the column information and read that data. But all I have is the business object type, so would need to figure out all the tables (as you helpfully pointed out, there could be more than 1 for a business object) and then read from those tables.

    So, assuming for the moment we are just dealing with the PO BUS2012 business object, your external application will be passing you a BO type and also (presumably- otherwise you could be sending back an awful lot of data) a BO key,  and you then want to send back all the detail for PO - exactly what the GetDetail method that is present on most objects does - is that right?
    Since most BOs have a GetDetail method, can't you just use that?
    Though I really can't see why your external application would be interested in all SAP BOs - most applications are a bit more specific than that.

  • Passing Values to Object Type Attributes

    Hi Experts,
    I need to pass values to object type attributes amount,channel and company code from zprogram.
    I have got FM 'SWO_INVOKE'.But in this FM how will I pass values to 3 attributes.
    I have created object type through SWO1 .Is it necessary to call FM SWO_CREATE before FM 'SWO_INVOKE'.
    Please suggest.
    Regards,
    Kaustubh.

    Hi,
    I guess you will have to Initialize business object first by using the function module "SWO_CREATE' and then call the other function module to pass the attributes. I am not sure, but please check by passing the attribute name and value to the tables parameter 'CONTAINER'.
    CONTAINER-ELEMENT = <Attribute name>.
    CONTAINER-VALUE = <value from the Zprogram>.
    Hope this will help.
    Thanks,
    Samson

  • How to Find Business Object name of BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT

    Hi,
    I want to know the business object name of BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT, also if we know the BAPI name then how to search its all detail like documentation ,BO name in  T. Code : BAPI.

    Hi,
    Business Object name for BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT is BapiService and object type is SAP0001.
    To find the business object name:
    First we have to find the development class for that FM BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT in attributes tab in SE37 later
    go to SWO1 T.code and press F4 there give the development class it will list the object types
    and then go to BAPI T.Code and Click Find Button give the Business Object Type and select Business Object Type Radio Button
    then u can find the Business Object Name and all details.

    Hi Laxman,
    Go to Transaction SWO1(Business Object Builder).

  • Transaction KB16N business-object type and key for GOS

    When attachments (notes, PC documents etc) are made to a manual cost allocation in transaction KB16N using GOS (generic object services):
      what is the business-object type?
      how is the business-object key constructed?
    I suspect that the business-object type is BUS6036.
    I suspect that the business-object key is the concatenation of the controlling area and the document number (using internal values).
    Is that correct?
    The reason for my question is that I have a program to display attached notes (and allow drill-down to attached PC documents) that works for various business objects (billing documents, purchasing documents and some FI documents), but I cannot get it to work for manual cost allocations.
    John

    Hi Michele
    The transaction you are looking for should be SWO1
    Then put the ex "BUS2000116" into the Object/Interface type and ...
    Guess it will help you

  • Delete Business Object Type (SWO1)

    Hi gurus,
    How can we delete/modify objects in SWO1 that were created in a previous version. Are these actions allowed, is there a workaround if its not allowed?
    Thanks for your help!
    Jason

    Hi Raymond,
    Thank you for your help.
    I have come accross that thread in SDN while doing some research already. But It does not completely answer my question.
    Correct me if I'm wrong, this means there is absolutely no workaround to modify a business object type that has been created in a different version?  If thats the case why does SAP enforce this rule?
    Thank you
