How to create unique key column in ROLAP fact table?

Hi all,
Is there a way to create a single column primary key (or unique index) on my ROLAP cube (and fact tables) in OWB? if so, what I should do in my mappings?

Views don't have primary keys though their underlying tables might. You'd need to pick apart the view to determine where it's columns are coming from.
You can select the text of the view in question from user_views.

The manual is confusing.

The oncard building of an AES key is somehow similar to an DES key.
On applet installation build an AES key by:

Hello Friends!
i need your help. I have to create composit key.
I have 2 tables. Table 1 contains 9 colums and table 2 contains 3 colums. I am writing down just related colums of table1
Table1: SID (pk) , Bytes_convert_test , Operator , Value , offset_test , Bytes_convert_jump , offset_jump
Table2: SID (fk) , value , type , ID (pk)
in table2 type represents the 2 colums in table 1 (Bytes_convert_test and Bytes_convert_jump). Type colum could be anyone of them may be for one record it is Bytes_convert_test or for another record bytes_convert_jump. values
Value colum in table2 having different values or may be same values for both records. but my task is that i have to store record like if the type in table2 is bytes_to_convert then the values colum stores values for bytes to convert record. In short i have to separate values according to type. I am not sure that i need SID as fk in table2.
Remember value colum in table1 containing different entries.

Hello Zeeshan,
You are saying you want to use Type and Value fields in Table2 as foreign keys to Table1 and based on logical operations,Type maps to Bytes_convert_test and/or Bytes_convert_jump in Table1. This means that there is no way to do a straight join between Table1 and Table2 that I can see. Unless you have some simple logic you can add to a query to get the joins to work consistently, I would strongly recommend you use a simple foreign key in Table2.
Using a simple foreign key that goes to Table1's primary key not only makes the table joins easier, it also will reduce database hits - since now the primary key can be used when traversing relationships to search the cache instead of having to always go to the database.

If my understanding is right, you want to create an ODS based on a database table.
Here, I will assume that you already know how to create an ODS. Otherwise, do let me know so that I can guide you on how to do it.
Basically, an ODS consists of two important sections i.e.
1. Key Fields
2. Data Fields
First, we must identify what are the field(s) in the table that make its records unique. You can think of this as database's primary key(s) e.g. Document Number. These field(s) must be inserted in ODS' Key Fields section. You can only insert Characteristics in Key Fields and the InfoObjects in this section will uniquely identify an ODS record or line item.
Next, you can include the rest of the fields (either Characteristics and Key Figures) in ODS' Data Fields and activate the ODS.
Having done that, you have already successfully create an ODS based on a database table.

How to create Parent and Children is a tree table / trigger sequence number

How to create Parent and Children is a tree table when the primary key of the parent is generated via a trigger and a sequence number in the database?
My problem is when I create a parent and then right away a children. The parent still not have a primary key until the transaction get to the database. I get a error when trying the create the children, cannot insert null in the foreign key field of the children.
Please help.

You should have the parent key be marked as a DBSequence type.
Then you should have the association between the master and detail defined as composite association to make sure that the posting order to the database is correct.

You can find the constraint_name from all_constraints/user_constraints for constraint_type = 'P' (which is the primary key constraint).
And then see which columns are in for the constriant_name
in all_cons_columns/user_cons_columns view.
Below is the example
select acc.column_name from
all_cons_columns acc, all_constraints ac
where acc.constraint_name = ac.constraint_name
and acc.table_name = 'DEPT' AND acc.owner = 'SCOTT'
and ac.constraint_type = 'P'

You can create a new local variable to report (called something like "NVP"), leave it as a "Dimension" and in the formula type:
if([col_a]=0 or [col_b]=0;"NO VALUE PRESENT")
Basically, you are using the "if" function and the syntax is very much like used in excel except you separate the arguments with a semi-colon versus a comma. You start out with "if()" and within the parenthesis is a logic statement followed by when true do this else that (with the "else that" portion optional as shown above). The drawback to using a local variable is that every report you write must be customized with the local variable versus establishing this logic in a "case" statement when building the data mart and thus it becomes resident and usable like any other column of data in your database. In some cases you are forced in using it as a local variable due to variations in the data and the logical outcome is not known until the very end of all computations, and at other times you can get away with embedding the logic at the time of constructing your data mart -- it all depends on how the data is used and sliced and diced.
