How to use Javascript for anchors as I cant get it to work at all?

I am currently trying to build my own web site using iweb 08. I am a total newby so this question is for anyone who knows about javascript, particularly Cyclosaurus. I have tried in vain to use Cyclosaurus's javascript for anchors in my FAQ's page via html snippet. I must be doing something wrong, so can you help?
1). I copied and pasted the javascript anchors code into a html snippet
2). I changed the, anchors.push(3146) to no's 1, 2 and so on for each question
3). I then changed 'change this to your page' to faq's
4). I don't understand anything else from this point so please can you help to rectify my total incompetence and explain it in detail.
This is what i have tried to do.... anchors.push(1);//faq's. followed by my question? y position
Is this correct or have I gone totally wrong

I have finally published my site and yes Cyclosaurus anchors javascript worked great. It won't work when you are working on your site pages, not until you publish your site.
Follow Cyclosaurus instructions above, it was after where I got stuck. So this is for the many people who need very clear instructions from start to finish. Otherwise you can spend countless hours scrolling through these forums. Here is what you have to do next:
Each question must be numbered. So your first question would be numbered "1" and so on. Highlight your question at the top of your page. Open inspector and go into hyperlink
Tick enable hyperlink box and select link to an external page. Delete everything but http:// and type in #1
Repeat this for each question - next question would be #2 and so on
Remember to hyper link all your "back to top" or "Top" as #0
That's it, your good to go to go

When writing JS and you're new to JSF (so new that you don't know out of head which HTML a JSF component generate), you need to base the JS code on the generated HTML output, not on the JSF source code.
For problems and/or support with writing JS code, please consult a JS forum. There are ones at webdeveloper.com and dynamicdrive.com. Please keep in mind that JSF source code is completely irrelevant for the JS forum users (and actually also for you), concentrate on and share the generated HTML output.

TS1702 Can anyone explain to me if iPhoto for iPod/iPad is suppose to have facial recognition. I downloaded it for that purpose but cant get it to work. I was about to buy an iPad but without the Facial Recognition I won't bother.

I need to have a Facial Recognition program for the iPad. I use iPhoto on the Mac and need to be able to use the Facial Recognition on the iPad.

I'm not sure where did you get that?
iPhoto for OS X does have facial recognition. The iPad version doesn't.
newer iPhone and iPad do have facial recognition in their camera applications (for auto-focus).

Help me!! How to use JavaScript with JSP ??

I am using JDeveloper and I created a screen in JSP which uses a bean for database connectivity and retriving info onto the page.
The page has a ListBox where list items are populated from the database.My requirement is
whenever the list is changed the page shuold be refreshed with the selected item info.
I tried to use 'JavaScript' for triggering the event with 'onChange' event of the ListBox.But the event is not getting invoked. I think JavaScript is not working with JSP.
Please help me with how to Use javaScript with JSP or any other alternative where I can meet my requirement.
I have one more question...I have gone through the JSP samples in OTN and I am trying do download the sample 'Travel servlet' which show list of countries...etc
I have also gone through the 'readme' but I don't know how to extract .jar file.
I would be great if you could help me in this.

We have a similar need. We have used Cold Fusion to display data from Our Oracle Database. We have a simple SElect Box in HTML populated with the oracle data. When someone selects say the State of Pennsylvania. then we have an On change event that runs a Javascript to go get all the cities in Pennsylvania.
Proble we are having is that inorder for the Javascript to work , we currently have to send all the valid data.
Do you know of any way to dynamically query the the Oracle database in Javascript

How to use Javascript to load random pages?

I wonder if anyone knows how to use Javascript to load a list
of links stored in the text file.
Every address will take a line, and the Javascript will

How to use JavaScript in Web bean generated JSP

I want to do some simple JavaScript validations (for example, checking if a particular field is empty) in the JSP page rendered by the data web bean. Because the HTML is rendered by the bean, I'm not able to refer to the HTML controls in the JSP page. Using javascript is against the standard. I can tell you a workaround instead of you setting the javascript, check if that would be acceptable.
You can use PPR and set the required property on the messageTextInput on clicking of the radio button. By doing this you will let UIX generate the javascript for you to handle the client side validation. But the validation will happen only on click of the submit button. The visual indicator is good enough to tell that the value has to be entered to the item.

If you are trying to display total number of pages in a report, Add the below formula in the column of the report and hide that column in the report.
FX = sum(count(1))/25
You can then reference the column in the narrative view like this: "Total pages in the report are @5" and out put may be "Total Pages in the report are 30".

You can also use something like the below:
To calculate them use fi:
CEILING(CAST(RCOUNT("FactColumn In the Report (Sum All)") as DOUBLE)/ 25) for the page number
CEILING(CAST(COUNT("FactColumn In the Report (Sum All)") as DOUBLE)/ 25) for the total pages
Put the above formula in the column and reference it in the narrative view like I mentioned in the previous example.

How do we get the path of term,if my term label is in some other locale, lets say for Spanish but using currentTerm.get_pathOfTerm() property it returns default path of my term store, i.e English.
But i need the path to use my values returned in Spanish ???
Do we have any idea how to achieve this. ??

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to get term path using JavaScript for MultiLingual.
Per my knowledge,
SP.Taxonomy.Term.pathOfTerm property (sp.taxonomy) gets the path for this
Term in the
TermStore default language.
To get path for MultiLingual, I recommend that you can use
Term.GetPath method (Int32) which
gets the path for the current
Term in the specified lcid.
If the lcid is not a valid TermStore language, then the default language is used.

I am running 10.6.8 and using iweb for my web site. After several SEO analysis they all indicate I need H1-6 header tags. After looking at the source code I see there are none in iweb. Is it necessary to add? If so, how do I add H Tags to iweb.

Is traditionally represented by html tags like:

I would guess that the use of h1-h6 tags helps search engines to understand the structure of a page as the tags imply a certain structure.
This can be compared to more generic tags like <div> that could represent any kind of content - and may be what iWeb uses (you'll have to check yourself).
I would generally recommend that you use some kind of up to date blog/site building tool, perhaps Wordpress or Squarespace (I haven't used either one myself) that support current web technologies - this should reduce your SEO issues and make it easier to properly support mobile/tablet users.

If you want to get all of the associated files use an app deleting app like the free AppCleaner;

This way, I don't need to use a lot of if..then for hard code v1,v2,v3,.... actually I have more v..
But Oracle gave an error of this usage of 'if 'v'||i' or 'v'||to_char(i).

SQL is source code. It needs to be parsed (compiled). The end result is an executable program that is called a cursor. This cursor needs to be stored in server memory (the SQL Shared Pool in the SGA).
The problem with your code is that it is slow and expensive - it generates lots of unique SQL statements that need CPU for parsing and server memory for storage.
These add up to a very significant performance overhead. That is the wrong approach. The correct approach is the same one that you would use in any other programming language.
Let's say you need to use Java to process a bunch of CSV files - exact same CSV layout used by each file. A file needs to be read, processed, and a log file created.
Will you write a Java program that loops through the files, for each file found, write a Java program for processing that file, compile it, then execute it?
Or would you write a Java program that takes the name of the file as input, and then process that file and writes the log file?
The 2nd approach provides a program that can process any of those CSV files - one simply needs to pass the filename as an input parameter.
Your code and approach use the 1st method. Not the 2nd. And that is why it is wrong.
To create a SQL program with parameters is done by using bind variables. Instead of
v_cmd := 'UPDATE parts_categ_counts SET w1='||v1||', w2='||v2||...||v9||' WHERE seq='||vseq||';
The following SQL source code should be created:
v_cmd := 'UPDATE parts_categ_counts SET w1=:v1, w2=:v2 ..., w9=:v9 WHERE seq= :vseq';
The tokens with the colon prefix (such as :v1), are bind variables. Think of these as the parameters to the SQL cursor.
The server parses this SQL into a cursor. You can now execute the same cursor over and over again, using different bind variables. (just like the 2nd approach above that one would use in Java)
In PL/SQL, this is made even easier as you can code native SQL code with PL/SQL code and use PL/SQL variables in it. The PL/SQL compiler is clever enough to do the SQL parsing, variable binding, and cursor execution for you. So in PL/SQL, you would use:
UPDATE parts_categ_counts SET w1=v1, w2=v2 ..., w9=v9 WHERE seq= vseq;
Where v1 and the others are PL/SQL variables.
That all said - PL/SQL is only used for data crunching, when the processing of data is too complex for the SQL language to deal with. And this is very seldom the case.
The main reason for using PL/SQL it to provide processing flow control, conditional processing and error handling, for SQL code. As the SQL language does not have these features.

I think that I found the Sun endorsed book locations for using LDAP accounts that don't use authentication besides "crypt". I now can use an account with a "ssha" password. It can be more than 8 characters long.

Read page 201 which is the pam.conf file pam_ldap setups. I edited my "/etc/pam.conf" file to reflect this
Chapter 7 Directory Server 5.2 2005Q4 - Administration Guide
Read page 316-318 which has a graphical technique to specify password syntax. I set it up and then tried the password by running "su - brahms". It now requires a longer password than 8 characters and it is set up to use "ssha" for that UID entry "brahms".
