I accepted an update from 3.1.12 to 3.0.19 and it didn't download I uninstalled my Mozilla and now I have nothing!!! Help

I had mozilla 3.0.12 for the longest time, and today I get this icon message that there was an update available for it so I clicked on the thing and next thing I know i'ts downloading version 3.0.19. I thought it was an update, not an upgrade. So now when I go to click on the mozilla icon it opens and I get a white page that has a yellow triangle that says network timeout, and I can't connect. So I go to programs/add/remove highlight mozilla, uninstall the 3.0.13 hoping the upgrade will set in and it doesn't so I've lost all my bookmarks etc. How can I get it back? Iam not that computer savy,as you may see for the idiocy I've just committed, but if anyone can help me,I sure would appreciate it,thank you.CarmenO

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

Have you failed to maintain a backup copy of your computer?  not good.
The ipod is not a backup device.
You can redownload itunes purchases.  Open itunes store, click Purchased, under Quick Links
You should always maintain a backup copy of your computer.

What exactly happens when you try to sync?
    Does iTunes see the iPod?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?

Try syncing the iPhone to iTunes. If it doesn't appear, then log in to your account and check Purchased.

Okay, so, fast forward from July to now -
    - I've visited my closest Apple store's genius bar twice now. (Over an hour and a half away.)
    - My computer spent at least 8 hours behind their closed doors in the workshop
    - Several complete erases of the harddrive have taken place
    - Most of the Apple geniuses I dealt with were nice and very knowledgeable, but they were and still aren't 100% sure exactly what is wrong with my computer.
    The good news is:
    - They were able to at least get it running again, with a clean install from their servers of OS X Lion 10.7.5
    - They believe that my problems stem from either 1 of 2 things:
            - Faulty Hard Drive (even though it is brand new)
             - The wrong build of software being installed.
Now, while the wrong build does seem like it could be the problem, it doesn't make sense in the aspect that all of the initial problems began when the first hard drive failed. The same problems continued when I changed out the failed hard drive with the brand spanking new one, and only slightly improved when I was able to successfully install the OS that came with the original disks for my computer. I'm not convinced this thing is back to normal, but hopefully I can make it last through getting a shiny new retina Macbook Pro in the coming future. Thank you so much to everyone who read and replied to this post!

  • Hi, ok so at my old job i got given a laptop and i synced my iPhone to that laptop using iCloud, now i have left that job and i have bought my own macbook. I just linked my iPhone to my new macbook via iCloud and now pictures from my old work colleges

Hi, ok so at my old job i got given a laptop and i synced my iPhone to that laptop using iCloud, now i have left that job and i have bought my own macbook. I just linked my iPhone to my new macbook via iCloud and now pictures from my old work colleges that are obviously using that laptop have popped up on my new laptop, does that mean all my pictures in the last 3 months have been loa
ding onto that old work laptop as well as my new one??!!! if so how do i delete my pictures from the past 3 months off that old work macbook? HELP!!

If they are photo stream photos, save them to your camera roll, then delete them from photo stream.  That will delete them from photo stream in iCloud and on any other devices/computers.  Of couse it won't delete them if they have already been moved out of the photo stream album download folder on the work computer.
Then change your iCloud password so the old work computer no longer has access to your iCloud data or photo stream.  See http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2617.

  • When updating to the new iOS my ipod died and now I have nothing but a white screen that won't turn off and itunes now doesn't recognize it

When I was updating my ipod touch to the new iOS last night it died and now I have nothing but a white screen. iTunes no longer recongnizes the device and it won't turn off when I hold the power button or when I hold the power and home screen button.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • I tried downloading the iOS8 to my iPod 5th generation and when it finished downloading it shut down completely and it said there was an error and no the iPod is in recovery mode. What can I do to restore it and update it? Please, I need help.

    Hello,
I recently tried downloading the IOS8 to my iPod 5th generation and when it was almost done the computer said there was an error. Right after that, the iPod shut down completely and now it's on recovery mode. I plugged it in and it said that I had to restore it and update it so I could use it again but it doesn't let me. What can I do? I even did a backup before the update.
    I really need help.

What happens when you connect to computer and restore via iTunes?
    Without knowing that:
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • HT4623 I updated software but before it was completed, I unplugged the phone, now I have nothing on screen but the apple icon, how can I get use of my phone back/

Under settings on my Iphone I needed to do a software update.  It said to turn on the wifi and plug the phone in.  I did this it was suppose to take approximately 1 hour.  The screen showed downloading and a blue line that I thought it was finished, I unplugged the phone and now I have the apple icon that flashes periodically.  I do not have access to use it as a phone or anything else.  I can't seem to get it to do anything.    Right now it is plugged into my computer and I thought I had completed the update but still nothing.

restart the iPhone by holding the home and on/off buttons together for 6 or 7 seconds till the Apple logo appears.

  • Great..now i have NOTHING to listen to =[ //wont restore/update

    Hi!
I've been having battery problems with my ipod lately [like a lot of people i've read on here] but I can deal with that I guess for now...the thing that I CAN'T deal with is how all the songs are now GONE from my ipod, and it won't re-add them.
I'm not really sure how it happened..and now when i plug my ipod in to update/add songs an error message comes up saying "the ipod cannot be updated. the disk could not be read from or written to"
so i tried to restore my ipod, but then i get an error message saying "the ipod could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1418)."
does anyone know how i can fix this? any help is greatly appreciated =[ i also have the most recent version of itunes if it helps to know that...[and personally, i don't like the new version lol]
    thanks :]

    Hi Reneenee!
Let's first start out with "the songs are GONE from my ipod!":
Try assigning your iPod a different drive letter; this is one of the strange iPod behaviors that can happpen as a result of Widnows confusing your iPod as a network device. See these steps below:
Log off of any other users on your computer.
1 - Don’t plug in your iPod yet.
2 - Close iTunes and iPod Updater programs if they are running.
3 - Go to "START -> Control Panel -> Admin Tools (if you don't see this, click on "classic view" button on the left panel) -> Computer Management."
4 - Click on the "Disk Management" button in the left panel area.
5 - Now, with "Computer Management" and Control Panel windows opened, reset your iPod, and connect it.
6 - Right-click on your iPod's listing there (after a few moments when it gets recognized in this drive window), and click on "Change Drive letter and Paths". Then the "Change..." button.
Here's what it should look like:
Assign your iPod the letter "M" "N", "O" or the like (further along in the alphabet).
For more details, see this article:
Windows confuses iPod with network device / Changing drive letter
Now, if you're still getting "Disk cannot be read from or written to" message after assigning your iPod a different drive letter, then try seeing this article -> "Disk cannot be read from or written to" when syncing iPod
Now, if errors are still occuring, you need to restore, but you can't since you're still getting "error 1418", then read here (some folks' issues are getting solved by this post) -> eboncairn, a possible solution for errors 1417 and 1418
    I hope this helps you!

  • I have an ipod touch and i had all of my songs and apps on one computer but that computer died so now i have a new one and i dont know how to export the songs because they are all on different itunes accounts and i want to get new software updates

i need to get these songs imported cause i have two year old software from way before the update where you get to put apps in folders and stuff

  • I recently uploaded some pics and videos from an ipad and a camera. I put them all on Iphoto and backed them up in my personal folder. I then trimmed one of the videos and dragged and dropped that into the master folder(pictures). Its now gone!! HELP!?!?!

I rencently added all my photo's from my Ipad and Camera. There were photos and videos on both. The import was done through Iphoto and then transfered to my backup in my pictures folder. I then took one of my videos and trimmed it and then addded that trimmed version to my back up(pictures)albumn. It asked If i wanted to replace existing photo or cancel and I hit replace. Now the file plays great on Iphoto but I am unable to share it through any form(facebook, Imessage etc) and in my back up(pictures) it says the file in only 87kb. I dragged and dropped it from Iphoto to the desk top along with another important video, when I hit get info on both of them one of them is a full sized video(50mb or whatever) and the other one(the one I am trying to recover) is only the 87kb. I want this full file avaiable to me how can I get it back?? it is already deleted off the camera??? please please help me.

    Garret,
is your movie in your backup folder a Quicktime movie? Then probably only have the Quicktime wrapper in your backup folder, but not the referenced media in the file fork of the movie. If you see the full quality movie in iPhoto in QuickTime player, don't drag it from the browser to the Desktop, but use "File > Reveal in Finder > Original File" to show the movie in your iPhoto Library. Select the Movie when it is revealed and ctrl-click it to open it in Quicktime Player.
Export it from Quicktime Player with "Export to" and share it to iTunes. This way it will be converted to a .mp4 movie that embeds the missing resources.
You can drag the converted movie from iTunes to the Desktop or share it using to Media Browser to other applications.
    Regards
    Léonie

  • I rented a movie in iTunes from my iPad and it didn't download - how do I find it?

I rented a movie from my iPad and it would not let it download over 4G. So I connected to WiFi and now I can't find where I need to go to download the movie I rented. Can anybody help me?

The issue was that a dialogue box came up which said that I couldn't play this movie on another device.  I tried playing the same movie on an Tv with an HDMI connection attached to an adapter to the IPad and that worked.  I wonder if the problem is that the digital projector has a VGA connection.

  • I shut down new update in middle-now I have nothing

Well I got up this morning to an update that said it would take 10 mins.  So an hr later I still see it circling, I thought it was frozen.  I couldnt power down or anything, so I pulled battery.
Apparently some update took place as the new home screen is there but everything else, contacts, emails, sync, all that is gone and most icons I touch they hold and come back asking if I want to wait.  I went to - about phone -system updates - but it just sits there looking and has been for 20 mins.
Any help?  I go out of town for a week for work tomorrow and Im married to this phone.
    Thanks

Have you tried clearing the phone cache?  That's highly recommended after an OS update.
