One thing often tried first is to create a new document and File>Place the corrupted one to see how much may be rescued that way (remember to tick Paste remembers Layers in the Layer palette flyout/dropdown first, and to untick it afterwards).

Failing a full recovery, hopefully you have one or more earlier versions and/or bits of artwork saved before it happened.

Photoshop Elements 11 has been working for over a year, and now suddenly it flickers on startup, then closes with a message saying it has stopped working.
Is there a repair option to fix it?I have already copied my photographs to the a library manager but when I tried to reuse iphoto and import the photos back into iphoto, it would not let me.
You can't "copy" your photos to the "library manager", there is just no way to any such thing.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

I am trying to load iTunes and keep getting a error 126 and reinstall program. I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice and keep getting the same error message. How can this be resolved?
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Have installed creative cloud, but while the apps read "up to date," they are not even installed and cannot be opened. Have uninstalled and reinstalled Creative Cloud/Adobe. Horribly frustrating. This is my second computer for installing creative cloud. Does that make a difference?

The PS in my CS6 wont open. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, same problem, I did change a preference for storage of photos to and external harddrive because of large files prior to any trouble is all I can think off ,but if that is the problem..how do I change that preference if I can't open the program, Im on a mac 10.8, its only a month old etc ...can anyone help please, pulling my hair out...

I had tried that but I never was quick enough!!! ended up fixing it by going to the enclosed folder in finder ~/library ,find photoshopCS6 settings , rename the folder to include old, as in settings.old and then start up PS , all working!!!! Hello, I am getting a Kern Protection failure error message when trying to start up my Olympus DSS Player dictation software. I have been using the software without issue for years until last month. Why won't Adobe reader no longer let me view previously download (from Safari) pdf's? I am running OSX 10.8.5 and have uninstalled and reinstalled latest version of Reader. I get this error message "Adobe Reader could not open 'OD Test Bed Proposals_0.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)." I have tried changing the 'open with' options too. Thanks
Try this:
Go to: Mac HD/Library/Internet Plug-ins
Trash the AdobePDFViewer.plugin and AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin files
Empty the trash
Relaunch Safari. You can now download undamaged PDFs. -
My iTunes keeps crashing. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, including recreating the entire database, and it is still doing it. I recently upgraded to 10.5. Any ideas? I am running Windows 7 on a new, decent, laptop. The music is on the laptop's hard drive. There is plenty of hard drive space left.
iTunes starts fine, and I can do stuff, then within a minute or two or three it gives me an error message pop-up.The error message says:
iTunes has stopped working.
Windows can check nline for a solution to the problem.

I've chosen both items, neither does anything but close the program. This problem is new with iTunes 10.5; I did not have it before. -

Managed library size vs images plus referenced library
