what do I do when I get this error message?
NO, I still have the error message/problem. It started with my hotmail account. So I deleted/removed it and started a new yahoo email. I am now getting the error message on yahoo email. It doesnt hapen on my gmail account nor my exchange UCSD email and this is only on my MAC...my ipad works fine. All emails run fine on the ipad. Its so frustrating.

pippilaing (NZ)What I found works best is to do the following:
Quit iCal on you
Go to iCloud.com and sign-in
Create an event on the calendar
Sign-out of iCloud.com
Relaunch iCal
It will take a few seconds for the calender to resync, but you should see the new event pop up on the calender. After that, hopefully all is well. -

Why do I get this message in iCal

I understand .mac mail will still come through. Do not delete the old account yet.
You cannot use .mac or MobileMe as type of Account, you have to choose IMAP when setting up, otherwise Mail is hard coded to change imap.mail.me.com to mail.me.com & smtp.mail.me.com to smtp.me.com, no matter what you try to enter.
iCloud Mail setup, do not choose .mac or MobileMe as type, but choose IMAP...
On second step where it asks "Description", it has to be a unique name, but you can still use your email address.
IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
• Server name: imap.mail.me.com
• SSL Required: Yes
• Port: 993
• Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
• Password: Your iCloud password
SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:
• Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
• SSL Required: Yes
• Port: 587
• SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
• Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
• Password: Your iCloud password
Also, you must upgrade your password to meet the new criteria: 8 characters, including upper and lower case and numbers. If you have an older password that does not meet these criteria, when you try to setup mail on your mac, using all of the IMAP criteria listed above, it will still give a server error message. Go to http://appleid.apple.com then follow directions to change your password, then go back to setting up your mail using the IMAP instructions above.

Me too. I ignore it and click "stay offline" because I am not hooked up to iCloud as yet and have no need for my Calendar to go online.

I'm trying to add a WHM log-in to my Keychain. I keep getting this error message. It's a nasty password and I go there frequently, so having Keychain auto-fill would be really nice.

You can get it from here, but you are better off using K-Meleon (derived from Firefox) or Opera instead an old version of Firefox:

You can try KernelEx to get Firefox 3+ to work, but it would be very slow with an old PC of less than 750Mhz. 3.5 and later supposedly doesn't work.

I repeatedly get this error message for iCal whenever I am on line:
The server responded with "502 to operation CalDAV Account refresh queaeable operation." How can this be fixed.Open up iCal Preferences and select the 'Accounts' tab. What accounts do you have listed there? Do you know what they all are? Do you use them all? If there are any that you know you don't use then remove them. If you don't know what they are then unclick 'Enable this account' and see if it makes any difference, not just to the problem but to how you use iCal. If you lose data then you need that account. It might be worth noting the details of that account then removing it and recreating it. You could also try changing the refresh frequency so that if you can't remove the problem totally then at least it won't bother you so often.

whenever iCal opens. It gives me the option to "Stay Offline" or "Go Online" but even when I click "Go Online" the message just pops up again.
How can I fix it?!

In iCal Preferences…, choose Accounts, then select the account that is giving you trouble. Uncheck the box labeled Enable this account. Wait a few seconds, then re-check the box. This should solve the problem. -

I am trying to download the latest 10.0 itunes, however I keep getting this error message. I have a new iphone 4s so when I plugged it into the laptop it said i need to uninstall and reinstall the latest itunes.
I contacted support which they advised me to uninstall the itunes on my dell laptop, which I have done however I keep getting the same error message. "An error occured during the assembly "Microsoft VC80.CRT, version =8.0.50727.4053",type ="win32",publickey Tokens="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",process orArchitecture="x86". These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? Are they also 800736fd, or some other number? (If they're another number, what number are you getting?) -
Can't download itunes update. Keep getting this error message: THe program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem
I researched the advice on the link provided by b noir as well as very similar advice from apple support: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376. It worked for me (for now).
Some things of note:
I did all of the things requested by the link I provided
My computer WOULD NOT uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support. I had to manually remove the folder (also as instructed by the url)
I also uninstalled MobileMe. Was a little different than removing the other apps. Follow instructs provided here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2992
I did not uninstall iCloud
I have to admit it was a bit scary removing all those things. Is important to note that when re-installing Apple, follow steps to do so as Administrator (the right-click thingy and whatnot).
