JVM error while reserving big byte array

Hi all, I've encountered a strange problem while trying to unzip a big file (~100MB):
I have to work with it in memory so I load it into byte array - this never caused any troubles until I tried to unpack a file of such big size - more detailed investigation showed that just a line like that:
byte[] bb = new byte[100000000] - ruins a service thread WITHOUT giving an exception (so that, try-catch around it don't react on it)!
The system config is here:
P4 1.4GHz, 512 RAM, JDK1.5.u6
Anyone saw such trouble?

What was the specific error message or symptom you saw?
Also please include which version of java you are using (the output
from java -version).

  • InsufficientMemoryException while sending large byte array in WCF Service callback

    Hi
    I have a datacontract with a large byte array that is passed by the WCF Service back to the client using a callback contract.
    Until the byte array size remains below 25-30 MB, it is passed OK, but as soon as it exceeds that, an InsufficientMemoryException is thrown on the service side. I have set the max message sizes at 100 MB and using MTOM Encoder.
    I am using WSDualHTTPBinding with sessions and message security - hence streaming is not an option. I know chunking channels are an option, but I want to try to tune the service and client to maximize the byte array size which can be sent over a normal channel.
    Kindly advise how to tune settings to get to around 100 MB byte array size.
    Binding section of web.config is given below. Same settings for sizes are used on client.
    Thanks
    Abhishek
     <wsDualHttpBinding>
            <binding name="WSHttpBinding_IService" closeTimeout="00:01:00" openTimeout="00:01:00" receiveTimeout="00:10:00" sendTimeout="00:01:00" bypassProxyOnLocal="false"
    transactionFlow="false" hostNameComparisonMode="StrongWildcard" maxBufferPoolSize="100000000" maxReceivedMessageSize="100000000" messageEncoding="Mtom" textEncoding="utf-8" useDefaultWebProxy="true">
              <readerQuotas maxArrayLength="100000000"  />
              <security mode="Message">
                <message clientCredentialType="Certificate" algorithmSuite="Default"  />
              </security>
            </binding>
          </wsDualHttpBinding>

    Hi abhisinghal21,
    >>InsufficientMemoryException while sending large byte array in WCF Service callback
    First please try to increase the timeout value in the both client and service side to see if it works:
    closeTimeout="00:10:00" openTimeout="00:10:00"
    receiveTimeout="00:10:00" sendTimeout="00:10:00"
    Then since you do not want to the use the Chunking option to help you, maybe you try to change the wsDualHttpBinding to use the binding which supports the streaming mode and supports callback.
    In streaming transfer mode, the receiver can begin to process the message before it is completely delivered. And the streaming mode is useful when the information that is passed is lengthy and can be processed serially. Streaming mode is also useful when the
    message is too large to be entirely buffered. So it will be better for you to use the streamed mode.
    For more information, please try to check:
    #How to: Enable Streaming:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms789010(v=vs.110).aspx .

  • Error while assigning values to Array using Copy operation

    Hi,
    I am using the following code to copy a string value 'Text' and 'UDFTypeTitle' to the 1st and 2nd position of an array:-
    <assign name="Assign1">
    <copy>
    <from expression="string('Text')"/>
    <to variable="Invoke1_ReadUDFValues_InputVariable" part="params"
    query="/ns1:ReadUDFValues/ns1:Field[position()=1]"/>
    </copy>
    <copy>

    <to variable="Invoke1_ReadUDFValues_InputVariable" part="params"
    query="/ns1:ReadUDFValues/ns1:Field[position()=2]"/>
    </copy>
    </assign>
    I am getting the following error for the 2nd copy:-
    XPath query string returns zero node.
    The assign activity of the to node query is returning zero node.
    Either the to node data or the xpath query in the to node was invalid.
    According to BPEL4WS spec 1.1 section 14.3, verify the to node value at line number 103 in the BPEL source
    If I am removing the 2nd copy I am not getting any error.

  • Error while reserve GR process

    HI All,
    I getting the following error message when try to reserve good receipt from return process, "Handling units were changed. Cancellation no longer possible ".
    Please help me with this problem.
    Thank you very much for your kindly help.

    Hi
    I believe you are using two step stock transport process with handling units
    Any postings with handling units cannot be reversed with vl09 if
    subsequent activities have been carried out on the HUs (this includes
    assignments, postings etc). This behaviour is a result of note 687257.
    Please also take a look at the documentation in SAP Library
    (SAP R/3 Enterprise Application Components -> Logistics -> Logistics -
    General (LO) -> Handling Unit Management (LO-HU) -> Goods Movements
    with Handling Units -> Reversing Goods Movements for HUs)

  • Java.sql.SQLException: Internal Error while using oracle.sql.ARRAY.getArray

    Hello All,
    Here is the issue description. Our application uses Oracle Object Types and LIST. We deployed our application on QA environment which has Oracle 10g. Application runs fine...no issues. Now we moved to UAT. UAT environment is same as QA environment and DBA have created replica of QA database.
    Now WAR file which works fine with QA database , somehow doesnt work with UAT database. Application throws following exception when code tries to call getArray() on java.sql.Array.
    We tried to point UAT weblogic to QA database and it worked fine.....but when we point UAT weblogic to UAT database , we get following exception. So we know that this is a database issue.
    DBA claims that QA env database and UAT env database are same.
    Can anybody please tell me what wrong here? What setting is not done on UAT database which is done on QA?

    This can happen if you use the oracle.sql.ARRAY class with WebLogic.
    WebLogic wraps oracle.sql.ARRAY with its own class (i.e. weblogic.jdbc.wrapper.Array_oracle_sql_ARRAY). The easiest solution is to replace oracle.sql.ARRAY with the JDBC standard java.sql.Array.
    <PRE class=jive-pre><CODE class="jive-code jive-java">Object[] items = (Object[])array.getArray();
    <FONT color=navy><B>if</B></FONT> (items.length &gt; 0) <FONT color=navy>{</FONT>

    Object arrayItem = items;
    <FONT color=navy>}</FONT>
    <FONT color=navy>}</FONT>
    </CODE></PRE>
    The <B>array</B> object is a java.sql.Array. Here no unwrapping of the WebLogic wrapper is needed.
    If you absolutely need the oracle.sql.ARRAY class than you must use an <B>unwrap</B> API on the WebLogic wrapper class.
    <PRE class=jive-pre><CODE class="jive-code jive-java"><FONT color=navy><B>if</B></FONT> (object <FONT color=navy><B>instanceof</B></FONT> weblogic.jdbc.wrapper.Array)
    array = (ARRAY) ( ((weblogic.jdbc.wrapper.Array)object).unwrap(Class.forName(<FONT color=red>"oracle.sql.ARRAY"</FONT>)) );
    <FONT color=navy><B>else</B></FONT>
    array = (ARRAY) object;
    </CODE></PRE>
    Here, <B>array</B> is an oracle.sql.ARRAY. Try to see if this <A class=bodylinkwhite href="http://www.software-to-convert.com/3gp-conversion-software/3gp-to-myspace-video-software.html"><FONT face=tahoma,verdana,sans-serif color=#000 size=1>helps</FONT></A>. Good luck.

  • Error while selecting  big size xml documetns

    Hi !
    I'am querying a automatically generated table (by registerSchema) and I'm getting an error when executing the select, in either in sqlplus or odp.net, and it returns a lot of xml data. Do I have to configure something about it?
    I'm using oracle 10.2.0.1 over a Suse Linux.
    I tried using Oracle 9 as the oci client and it works fine ...

    Hi Raghu !
    I have found out that the problem is not the xml size, all the problem is about circular references between types, I had to isolate five documents in more than a thousand to discover it.
    I read the "Working with circular and Cyclical Dependencies" section of the developers guide, but I still have the problem when executing the query, I'm copying the schema and a sample file below.

  • BPEL - Error while working with XML Arrays

    Hi,
    I am getting an error when i try to do the following Copy Operation.
    <copy>
    <from expression="ora:getElement('Invoke2_OutputVariable','LinetDetailsResponse','/ns8:LinetDetailsResponse/ns8:lineDetails/ns8:item/ns8:telNo',bpws:getVariableData('Counter'))"/>
    <to variable="outputVariable" part="payload"
    query="/ns3:Response/ns5:LineDetailsInfo[bpws:getVariableData('Counter')]/ns5:lineID"/>
    </copy>
    The error seems to be with the bpws:getVariableData('Counter') function in the 'copy to' section. If I hard code the value instead of using the function, it works. The exact error message is
    "XPath query string returns zero node.
    The assign activity of the to node query is returning zero node.
    Either the to node data or the xpath query in the to node was invalid.
    According to BPEL4WS spec 1.1 section 14.3, verify the to node value at line number 308 in the BPEL source."
    Could someone suggest what is the issue?

    Shyam

    It is not able to find a variable where it has to copy data.
    <to variable="outputVariable" part="payload"
    query="/ns3:Response/ns5:LineDetailsInfo[bpws:getVariableData('Counter')]/ns5:lineID"/>
    try to do this
    <to variable="outputVariable" part="payload"
    query="/ns3:Response/ns5:LineDetailsInfo[$Counter]/ns5:lineID"/>
    or try this
    <to variable="outputVariable" part="payload"
    query="/ns3:Response/ns5:LineDetailsInfo[$bpws:getVariableData('Counter')]/ns5:lineID"/>

    Hi Chinmay,
    Make sure PATH env variable has appropriate JDK entry and it is ahead of any older version JDK entries. Issue may be because of older version of JDK in PATH or there may be no JDK at all.

  • Converting Image to Byte Array and then to String

    Hi All...
    Can anyone please help me. I have got a problem while converting a Byte array of BufferedImage to String.
    This is my code, First i convert a BufferedImage to a byte array using ImageIO.wirte
    public String dirName="C:\\image";
    ByteArrayOutputStream baos=new ByteArrayOutputStream(1000);
    BufferedImage img=ImageIO.read(new File(dirName,"red.jpg"));
    ImageIO.write(img, "jpg", baos);
    baos.flush();
    byte[] resultimage=baos.toByteArray();
    baos.close();
    Then i tried to convert this byte array to a string
    String str=new String(resultimage);
    byte[] b=str.getBytes();
    This much worked fine. But when i reversed this process to re-create the image from that string. i found the image distroted.
    BufferedImage imag=ImageIO.read(new ByteArrayInputStream(b));
    ImageIO.write(imag, "jpg", new File(dirName,"snap.jpg"));
    I got this snap.jpg as distroted.
    Please help me i have to convert the image to a string and again i have to re-create the image from that string.

    To conver the bytearray to string use base64.encoding
    String base64String= Base64.encode(baos.toByteArray());
    To convert back use Base64.decode;
    byte[] bytearray = Base64.decode(base64String);
    BufferedImage imag=ImageIO.read(bytearray);

    There is a possibility of mismatch of datatype, that can cause the problem.
    Say in ODI model, you have defined a 'Date type' field to be stored as 'String' however at the time of mapping in 'Interface', no conversion happens (from date to string)  for this particular object. This causes the problem.
    The original query remains valid at DB side (fires for datetype) however fails while integrating (anticipating String which may be longer than defined in modelbecause of your NLS setting in DB). Therefore the best way would be to apply conversion for that particular field (in this case, use TO_CHAR(Date type,'Desired Date Format').
