I am looking for an addon that will take care of companies who are into Project Execution.
Kindly suggest some such addon & partner(preferably from India but not necessary) from where I can get this.

Tool for project management

My project is about to commence.
Can anybody suggest me if SOLMAN is more appropriate tool for project management?
What are the limitations of saolution manager?

We use 3 major tools:
1) MS Projects for Planning, WBS and capture major events. This is basically tracking tool.
2) SAP Solman for Documentation. Lilke Business specs, Technical specs based on each process were documented, approved and stored in the SAP Solman. We also use SAP Solman to plan for Test Plan managements and Testing records thanks to the fantastic intergration of testing with Business documentation.
3) MS Sharepoint for collobaration, storing the project relevant documents like Project meeting presentations, User Manauls, Team meeting status reviews and updates and yes Project event photos etc.,
So in a nutshell there is no one tool can do everything for you especially when we are dealing with SAP Projects. SAP Solman have fine integration with SAP Project methods and System connection, but you need few other tools to keep track of whole Project.

The Business Package for Projects, Portfolio Management and Design Collaboration (PPMDC) 4.0 combines portfolio management with operational project management by offering access to SAP cProject Suite (cProjects and cFolders) and SAP xApp Resource and Portfolio Management (xRPM) via SAP Enterprise Portal.
This is compatible with the NW2004s Portal. We have used this business package for integrating the xRPM system into the Portal.

If you are willing to spend money on professional tool with free support, if the team get's large, I would ask you to look at ConceptDraw Project. If you are dead set on open source and "free" software I would say that Redmine, Bugzilla or any other that has been around a while, and looking for plugins to make it suit your needs is one of your best bets.

Free Project Management Software for Mac or windows!

Hi all,
Does anyone know of a good project management software that does more than what Microsoft project does and is freely available? I mean one that has a local application but also can update updates to the web side of the software? I saw sharedPlan which is really good so far but its not freely available. It runs on Mac and Windows but really looking for a windows version as all my team members only use windows.
So I guess am asking for one that's open source?

Is there good project management options for OS X server?

We are a small (3 person) shop and want to host our own project management solution. We would love to share project info and assign tasks etc... Does anyone do thin on their own server? We have used Manymoon and now Do.com.

There are a few options for self hosted project management you can consider, but most are considerably more complicated to use than either Do or Manymoon. Here are some examples of things you can look at, in order of declining 'project management' competence. For each item there are others available I've not mentioned, but if you search for any of these you'll soon find the alternatives via Google. So, have a look at:
* Merlin - A full featured project management package a bit like MS Project, but runs native on OS X and has pretty functional iThing clients too (though they don't yet support iOS7...). Quite expensive - but each client has the ability to share projects across a LAN (or WAN), so you can do stuff without buying the server app (which is very expensive). * ActiveCollab - a self-hosted php based groupware portal system. Originally started as an open source competitor / complement of the earliest forms of Basecamp, it has long ago evolved into its own thing but filling broadly the same space.
