Missing tab-delimited functionality in one case when using "collect" comman

Could anyone tell me why I do not have tab-delimited v_download in 1st case(in the second it is ok but there is no collect:

I can't see any difference u're using the same table RESULT to transfer the data T_DOWNLOAD, so the program should have the same behavior.
Perhaps you should past all code for both cases.

I cannot open pdf files from one supplier when using Adobe Reader but I can open it if using Google PDF viewer or another viewer. The Adobe reader gives the error "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired" when I try to open the file. The version of Adobe Reader is 10.1.7, however I have tried other versions and they all fail the same way. I have tested on a number of different PC's in different networks and all fail using Adobe Reader but work using alternate viewer. Also the PC's will open a PDF from any other source.

Newer Reader versions are more strict than older versions (and other PDF viewers). If certain minimum requirements are not met, Reader will tell you that the PDF is damaged. This can happen when a document was created with software that does not adhere to PDF standards, or when the file was damaged during a download or email transmission.
You should contact the creator of these PDFs.

Using more than one case when statement

Hi there,
I have a question on using case when statements.
Currently I have a table where it shows me mulitple dates.
Order Saledate TransferDate StartDate Enddate GetDate
I have created a where statement to show me records against the transferdate dependant if it appears within the date range of the year, or if it appears within the startdate and today's date.
(lpatran.trandate between targets.startdate
and (case when targets.enddate < getdate() then targets.enddate else getdate() end))
However on some of the records the transfer date is null, and so they want to use the saledate as the date to use.
So I created
(case when Lpatran.trandate is not null then (Lpatran.trandate between targets.startdate
and (case when targets.enddate < getdate() then targets.enddate else getdate()))
else (lpatran.saledate between targets.startdate
and (case when targets.enddate < getdate() then targets.enddate else getdate())) end )
However it gives me an incorrect syntax near the word ‘between ‘
Is there a simple fix for this or does sql not allow me to do this?

I have created a new column called transferdate and done a case when statement

Then created a temptable and did a select * from temptable. Created a where statement from transferdate, which does work and gives me the correct data.

However I wanted to know if there was a way of obtaining the same data without having to use the temptable ?

It seems that there're too many ids in the list, and Kodo didn't limit the # of sql parameters when craft the sql query. Is there a way to ask Kodo to use multiple queries with smaller # of sql parameters instead of using one big sql query?

Sadly, there is no way to do that in Kodo currently. The closest is the inClauseLimit DBDictionary setting, but that setting just breaks things up into multiple IN statements put together with an OR clause. In your case, it looks like the network transport, not the SQL parser, is complaining about size limits.
You could force the query to run in-memory, but that would probably be prohibitively slow, unless the data set that you're querying against is relatively small.

What's wrong with a "regular" global in this case? AND WIl ActiveX objects stored in functional globals remain valid (when used in an executable)?

I've written a plugin layer for a LV executable. When this layer makes a call to the plugins' initialization functions, I want each plugin library to be able to initialize and maintain its own global memory (where things like VISA resource names or ActiveX objects are stored). However, I've found that I can't manage to keep my global VIs "alive." I'm inclined to switch to functional globals, but I suspect that this will be a problem for things like ActiveX objects (that in this particular case reference a CAN interface). I believe that the functional global will indeed store the object from run to run, it's just that I'm somehow disinclined to think that the object will remain valid. I think you'll have to re-initialize it. Can anyone speak for or against this hunch? (If you can't tell, I'm trying to avoid building a whole little test executable just to debug this problem.)
I suppose the more profound question is "Why don't the globals stay in memory?" I'm attaching an image of what the application layer that calls the plugins' intializations looks like. Next I'm attaching an example of an actual initialization routine. You'll notice that I've even gone so far as to explicitly open the ref to the global VI that I want to keep in memory. Then I just leave it there dangling - but it still gets dropped! In my mind I shouldn't even have to do this, since the dynamically-called subVI "MC_CMO Init.vi" actually initializes the globals and runs with AutoDisposeRef = False.
Lastly, this is my first-ever attempt at writting plugin software. So if you look at my code and have any criticisms/pointers, I'll greatly appreciate them.

I am not sure if I follow you completely on your work-around.
Everything I have to say on this topic is based on obesrvations and threads I have read on Info-LabVIEW. Therefore it is subject to corecttion by those who know better.
LV is smart enough to know when "something" that had been opened, can be closed. It is not perfect.
If for instance you open a VISA refnum and pass the refnum to a LV2 AS A REFNUM the refnum in the LV2 stay alive as long as the VI's are running.
If you start another VI that uses the LV2 to fetch the refnum, it should get a valid ref as long as it starts before the first goes idle.
You then be able to work with refnum usign the VI launched second as long as stays active.
I often create action engine that can be invoked where required throughout an application. If the action engines get a ref in one state (like init) and use it another, I will generally write a "tester" that calls the action engine action to test the engine. In this case, my "tester" stays live and it keeps the ref's fresh.
I suspect if you tried to trick LV you could. If you type cast the ref nums to I32 and stored those in a LV2, I could see how LV could loose track of the resource sharing, but that is something I would avoid.
So I encourage you to do some experimenting with keeping track of who's running when to see if your work-around will work.

Double quotes in function and procedure names when using impdp

When viewing a function in the original database, it looks like:
CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION TA_ACTIVITY_D_GEN_FNC
After doing an expdp and impdp to restore a development database, it now looks like
CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION "TA_ACTIVITY_D_GEN_FNC"
and also has 2 blank lines at end of function.
This causes us problems when trying to use various utilites to compare differences in production and development. Now every function and procedure shows up as being different.
Can someone please explain why and what can be done to avoid this from happening?

from old exp, here is the first line of the create procedure statement:

You can see the double quotes. I don't understand why you wouldn't see the same compare issue with old exp. I was wondering what you were using for compare since it would let me know where to look for anything that has changed from the original create to the create performed by data pump. I remember there being an issue in this area. I just don't remember if it was extra spacing, upcasing, or something else or multiple changes. You could contact Oracle support to see if there is a fix and if it is backported to your version.
The only other way you can possibly fix this (and it would be a huge pain) would be to run impdp with a sqlfile and then edit the sqfile to remove the double quotes and to remove any extra spacing/extra lines. A patch from Oracle would certainly be easier if one was available.

Hello, I am using my Macbook Pro, late 2012 with a second monitor, which is a TV. I am wondering if there is a way to prevent spaces from poping up in the second monitor when i want it to ocur in the primary monitor? So on one monitor, or whichever one the mouse is, I want say Spaces, or Launch pad to popup on and not interfer with the other screen. Is there a way to do this?

I believe the answer is no.
I have not been able to make extra monitors stick with a particular space.
Also, there is a relevant discussion here regarding this matter.
The last poster suggests a workaround which does not work as far as I can tell.

Tabs not showing up in iTunes when using iPad

When I log onto iTunesU on my desktop PC, the course shows up with the tabs to different sections of the course. However when I log on using an iPad the tabs are not shown in iTunes and it defaults the the first section only. There is no way to get to another section(tab) of the iTunesU course. Has anyone else experienced this and does anybody have a solution for this?

Groups/Tabs do not exist within iTunes U for private sites on iOS devices so a collection with multiple groups/tabs is essentially broken into multiple courses.

Problem with function call from sql when using distinct

I have the following problem.
SELECT DISTINCT colA from tabA where my_function(colB) = 'TRUE'
This statement will return a handfull of results from a table with 70k + records. The function takes about 0.5 secs to execute.
How do i force the optimizer to do the select distinct first then execute the function on the results rather than execute the function for every single line first?

hi, first off all, sorry for my bad english... so, my suggestion... on my notebook, I and my wife are using internet... my wife uses firefox, and I must use other browser, because of we use same websites, such as facebook or gmail. we save passwords and users. and if we use one browser, we must change user, write passwords... my seggestion... can be created user profiles... egzample... i turn on firefox, and on main screen view a list of firefox user, such as my and my wife... i turn my acount, i just click facebook and i get where... later my wife turn on firefox and she see this list of user, she get her's user, and gets to facebook without my facebook turn off and write her's name and password... it like be as too firefox instaed on notebook... these acount have their own tabs, start pages... and if to next computer one person uses firefox, just on install, he turn off this feature...

Create a new profile for the other users and create a desktop shortcut with -P "profile" appended to the target to launch each profile.

IFrogz Luxe Case When Used on iP4 w/InvisiShield Screen Protector

I was surfing some of the topics in this Discussion Grp the other day and a young lady mentioned that when she slid her iFrogz Luxe case onto her iPhone 4 w/InvisiShield.. that the screen protector started to peel away.
Having applied the InvisiShield on my 3G two yrs ago with the iFrogz Luxe case, without any issues, I kind of dismissed her claim... however asking her if the new iFrogz Luxe case wrapped around the iP4 more than it did on the iP3G... and no reply back.
Well, I stand corrected... 3-days after applying InvisiShield to my iP4, I slipped the iFrogz case onto my phone and sure enough it started to peel the InvisiShield off. Alas... there is Good News
1. InvisiShield stands by its Shield and replaced mine
2. I contacted iFrogz and they are already working on a fix which has to do with the felt on the inside of their case which raises the iP4 just enough to cause what I described above.
3. As long as you present them with a pix of their case & receipt they will send you a voucher for a new case... they anticipate another 2 weeks before the new cases are ready.
A little inconvenience, but all parties are standing behind their product.

Did you ever hear back from iFrogz concerning this issue? I just bought a case today and sure enough I'm having the exact same problem you just described.
