Murali/sreenivas.
my processchain is working fine ..but upto Persistent Staging Area data is getting updated perfectly but after that daily i need to run
DTP manually , to avoid this what sholud i do??? i.e.
selecting particular info source and then Persistent Staging Area and then selecting particular request in PSA and selecting
update with scheduler.... by rightcliking on that... and then
after selecting this and then selecting immediate update...then Persistent Staging Area data is getting updated in to particular data targets...

Hi,
Are you using BW 3.5 or BI 7.0.
If you are in BW ,then please in the infopackage make the setting psa and data target in parallel.
If you are in BI 7.0,then include the step DTP.
Thanks,

Problem with Updating of Routing Master data
Hi,
My requirement is I have to download Routing Master data into excel sheet. Once downloading is over, user can change some fields data in excel sheet. Again ull upload the changed excel sheet data to SAP. Finally these changes will effect to the Routing Master data.
I am downloaded routing master data using FM CARO_ROUTING_READ.
I changed some fields in excel sheet. I tried so many FMs for updating the routing master data, but system not allow to me to change the Master data.
I tried with CP_BD_DIRECT_INPUT_PLAN,
CP_BD_DIRECT_INPUT_PLAN_EXT,
CP_BT_PLPO_UPDATE, for updating Routing Master.
And Standard program RCPTRA02 also.
Please send me one function module which can update the Routing Master data. But that FM have the same structure of CARO_ROUTING_READ. Otherwise type conflicts will come.
System throws error YOU CANNOT EDIT TASK LIST OBJECTS WITH ACTIVITY TYPE&.
Regards
ShaikHi,
I have found in OSS the following programs to download and upload routings:
- Note 107242: You can create the sequential input file with report RCPDIRO1
- Note 106965: Direct input routings: reading datasets
Maybe this can help you to upload your routings in another way. Unfortunately I haven't figured out yet how the program exactly works. So if somebody can give me some info about that one, it would be great.
Thanks,

Generating Wizard layout for updating record
Is there a way of using JHeadstart to generate a wizard to be used for updating records (and not for inserting) ?
I want to be able to use a table-form layout, but have the update of the record via the form to be presented in a wizard layout.
Cheers,
BrentBrent,
Yes, JHeadstart can also be used for generating a wizard to do updates. See the "Attention" at the end of section 5.8 in the JHeadstart 10.1.3.2 Developer's Guide (http://download.oracle.com/consulting/jhsdevguide1013.pdf).
Hope this helps,

OIM 10g: Best practice for updating OIM user status from target recon?
We have a requirement, where we need to trigger one or more updates to the OIM user record (including status) based on values pulled in from a target resource recon from an LDAP. For example, if an LDAP attribute "disable-flag=123456" then we want to disable the OIM user. Other LDAP attributes may trigger other OIM user attribute changes.
I think I need to write a custom adapter to handle "recon insert received" and "recon update received" events from the target recon, but wanted to check with the community to see if this was the right approach. Would post-insert/post-update event handlers be a better choice?Thanks Nishith. That's along the lines of what I was thinking. The only issue in my case is that I might need to update additional custom attributes on the OIM User in addition to enable/disable. Because of that requirement, my thought was to call the API directly from my task adapter to do the attribute updates in addition to the enable/disable. Does this seem like a sound approach?

ADF and MSSQL 2005 problems - FOR UPDATE clause allowed only for DECLARE C
Hi all.
I have a legacy application which uses MS SQL server 2000 / 2005. I've started to build up a new version of this application using JDev + ADF stack.
Everything went ok until I've tried to update some data in a Form. I'm getting this error:
com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: Line 1: FOR UPDATE clause allowed only for DECLARE CURSOR
Can someone figure out what's wrong?
1) In a MSSQL server connection string, normally we define the 'SelectMethod' parameter to 'cursor', as follows: jdbc:sqlserver://$host$:$port$;databaseName=dbserver;SelectMethod=cursor
Since I was not able to do this through my project's 'Application Resources > Connections' screen, I could not evaluate if this is the cause
2) I'm trying to follow the steps of an Oracle tutorial (http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe11jdev/ps1/ria_application/developriaapplication_long.htm#ad), of course using MS SQL server instead of Oracle, and using some master->detail tables like the example suggests (in the tutorial, I've reached the step 11, then tried to update a record, which causes the mentioned exception)
Follows the stacktrace:
<Utils><buildFacesMessage> ADF: Adding the following JSF error message: Line 1: FOR UPDATE clause allowed only for DECLARE CURSOR.

Regards,
Luciano S. Lorencini, SCJP, SCWCDSo, I`ve created a test project and use the MSSQL flavor to create my Business Components.
After repeated all the steps, the error did not happen again.
But some strange behavior happen: I change some data and click the "Submit" button. The changed data appears ok in screen, but the changes were not committed in database!
Do I need to explicitly tell ADF to commit that changes somewhere?

Problem in Updating records...
Hi all,
I want to understand how exactly do we update the records in oaf?
In my case,
I am fetching one row from EO into VO using setwhereclause, where value of parameter to whereclause depend on the value selected from a dropdown menu on the page.
Columns of this VO are mapped to messageTexInput fields on the page.
When page renders for the first time, a default row is fetched in VO. I can successfully update the data for this row. (I change data of any of the field on page and click Apply button which triggers getTransaction().commit)
When I change dropdown choice, VO gets a new row based on this dropdown choice (I have used PPR here).
I try to update data now, but irrespective of the row fetched in VO, for which data is displayed on page, the row whose data is displayed when the page renders for the first time gets updated.
Can you please help me on this...
Can you give me the working code snnipet for update which I can refer...
Thanks,
HarshHi
Here is the code snippet for update:
public void UpdateRecords(OAPageContext pageContext, OAWebBean webBean,String id,String client)
String where="Id="+id;
EOVOImpl thvo=getEOVO1();
VOImpl mpvo = getVO1();
if ((OAMessageLovInputBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("Client")!=null)
OAMessageLovInputBean Clientbean=(OAMessageLovInputBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("Client");
Clientbean.setValue(pageContext,client);
try {
thvo.setWhereClauseParams(null);
thvo.setWhereClause(where);
thvo.executeQuery();
int r = thvo.getRowCount();
r = mpvo.getRowCount();
catch (Exception e)
Debug.log(pageContext," Exception","Error "+e.getMessage(),1);
else
Debug.log(pageContext,"Client Bean","Client bean is null ",1);

Problems with Update Record behavior
I am sorry to ask this question again since I have not resolved the issue yet.
When I am using the Dreamweaver Update Record behavior, I am not able to get the form validation to work. I implemented the form validation by inserting onsubmit="return someFormValidation(this);" into the update form created by Dreamweaver.
When I hit the submit button the JavaScript validation function is not even invoked.
However when I use the same method for form validation with Insert Record behavior I have no problems. Is this difference I am observing between the Insert and Update behaviors the way Dreamweaver supposed to work? If yes how can I do my form validation during an Update Record?
Note that the pages involved are all php pages, therefore we are talking about server side validation here.
If anyone can help I will be grateful as I am really stuck...I am closing this even though I got no answers as the weird behaviour has disappeared....

BADI for Updating work order component data
Hi,
I need to update the field special stock indicator for the work order component data when it is saved. I am using the BADI WORKORDER_UPDATE for the same, but when I implemented the ZWORKORDER_UPDATE_IM using the standard defenition WORKORDER_UPDATE , the code does not allow me to change the it_component internal table belonging to the BEFORE_UPDATE method. Could you please help me in this.
Basically if we are implementing a standard defenition how to change the parameters of the methods in it.
Regards,
Prabaharan.GHi ,
It is giving the below dump. The parameter is importing parameter and it does not allow to change even using field symbol. Is there any other way. Is there an user exit which will be called when pressing enter button in component screen. The exit EXIT_SAPLCOBT_001 did not work for this.
Error analysis
The program tried to assign a new value to the field "<F_FS1>" even though
it is protected against changes.
The following objects are protected:
- Character or numeric literals
- Constants (CONSTANTS)
- Parameters of the category IMPORTING REFERENCE for functions
and methods
- Untyped field symbols to which a field has not yet been assigned
using ASSIGN
- TABLES parameters if the corresponding actual parameter is protected
against changes
- USING reference parameters and CHANGING parameters for FORMs if
the actual parameter for this is protected against changes

Problem with update record, then link to file
Environment:
Dreamweaver 8, MySQL, PHP.
I have a repeating record from my database. I added an Update
Record server behavior for each search result for the result table.
I added a button to the form and changed "submit" to "view".
Pressing "view" is supposed to allow the user to view the detailed
record information.
The Update Record server behavior is supposed to do two
things:
1) add 1 to the 'numViews' filed of the record's database
entry when the "view" button is pressed
2) After updating the numViews field, the form is supposed to
redirect the user to the detailed record
I found that depending on how I create the record, I an do
one of the above 2 behaviors, but not both. HELP!
To add 1 to the numViews field, I created a form variable
called incNumViews, which does the following:
<?php echo $row_rsSearchResults['recipeNumViews']+1; ?>
Very simple.
The Update Record ends up changing the form action to the
following:
<?php echo $editFormAction; ?>
Looking at the code for this, I ee the following:
$editFormAction = $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'];
if (isset($_SERVER['QUERY_STRING'])) {
$editFormAction .= "?" .
htmlentities($_SERVER['QUERY_STRING']);
But when the "view" (ie: submit" button for the form is
pressed, I get redirected back to the same repeating record search
result page, not to the record detail page.
However, the numViews field in the record is getting properly
incremented.
I tried to get around this by changing the Update Record
behavior "After updating, go to:" field to point to the record
detail page, and tried passing a parameter tot he recordID I want
to see details of, as a URL parameter, but that does not work.
If I change the Update Record form action from
<?php echo $editFormAction; ?>
to
record_detail.php?recordID=<?php echo
$row_rsSearchResults['recordID']; ?>
Then I am able to link to the detail page, but NOT update the
numViews field.
HOW can I fix this to both update the record, then jump to
the detail page with a URL parameter being passed, when I click the
"view" (submit) button o the form??
Thanks in advance.If the user's computer doesn't know what to do with a TIFF file, I guess that Open button would be missing. Tiff is not a web normal file format, or even a common one for graphics applications....

I have a vendor database that I want to use to populate a pre-created PDF form in Adobe Pro XI. I figured out how to rename the form data fields and how import the data from my data set but can't figure out how to have it create another copy of the form for the next record in the data set.... if its even possible. Any help is appreciated!
This can be achieved with a mail-merge type script.

Data not updating from psa into Data Targets
Hiii,
We have started data upload in info cubes from psa . The number of records was 4 in psa . But after waiting for at least 3 hours ,still the data is not updated in info cube . The data which we want to upload in info cube (of stock) is of past date which due to some reason failed to update in BI from ECC . To upload the same that is data of past date we have deleted the setup table in ECC and then after filling the data again in set up tables, created a new info package from which uploaded data in PSA . But while trying to upload data in info cubes,it is not getting updated and the request status is showing still green yellow in psa.
Please suggest how to resolve this issue.
Thanks and regardsAre you loading material movements from 2LIS_03_BF in to cube? If so, please look at the below link for inventory data loads.

Problem while updating record in WLS 6.1 sp4
We have been using toplink in our application with Weblogic 6.1. We have not faced any problems after migrating to TopLink oracle release 9.0.3 while deploying on WLS 6.1 sp1 or sp2. However when we deploy on WLS 6.1 sp4, we get a 'invalid column name' exception when trying to update a record.
