Problem with Save functionality for a Screen - Field
Hi Experts,
I have included a custom field with list box option to an infotype. The new filed displays the values based on the values selected in the standard field which has a list box option.
Now if we enter the transaction in change mode and change the standard field value without pressing ENTER and click SAVE button, it gets saved with an improper value in the custom field. The reason being the custom field values with drop down list is retreived only after we press enter (POV is triggered) after selecting a standard field.
Options tried:
I have included an error message (in PAI) to stop the values being saved, but the screen beomes disabled.
I have done my validation only on the custom field as there is no other possibility to validate any other fields on the screen (all are standard). Here the error message pops up and the field is in the enable mode, but it does not retrieve the possible values for the custom field based on my earlier selection for the standard field.( Because as POV does not get triggered in this case)
Ex. Std field value = USA
Custom field = United States of America
I changed the value in Standard field to = UK and click SAVE - It get saved
Now how to stop it from SAVING and let it know that there is an error in the custom field and it needs to select the right value from the list ie - United Kingdom.
Lakshmi
Perhaps a solution is to save the code value, not the text for the code, and only display the text. In this way, the database would have UK and when you re-entered the screen, a PBO module could obtain the text for UK for display.
Or, if you must store the text value instead of the code (seems redundant...you can look up the text anytime), an enhancement to the save to database logic to obtain the correct value from the current value of the code and save that to the database....

Problem with SaveAs function using random paths.
The Setup:
Part 1) I have a folder-level script that allows me to perform a SaveAs function from within forms. I do this as a way to save the document quietly in the background. The effect is that the file is overwritten by a copy of itself. The script is:
var mySaveAs = app.trustedFunction( function(oDoc,cPath,cFlName)
app.beginPriv();
cPath = cPath.replace(/([^\/])$/, "$1/");
try{
oDoc.saveAs(cPath + cFlName);
}catch(e){
app.alert("Error During Save");
app.endPriv();
Part 2) From within my documents, I perform the save by calling the function below:
function runSave()
{if(typeof(mySaveAs) == "function") {
var pathArray = this.path.split("/");
var myFileName = pathArray[pathArray.length-1];
var cPath = this.path.slice(0,myFileName);
mySaveAs(this, cPath, myFileName);
} else {
app.alert("Missing Save Function\n" + "Please contact forms administrator");
Part 3) I have several large forms that utilize an autosave to call the save function according to a time interval of 5 minutes, using:
app.setInterval(runSave(), 300000);
The Problem:
Part 1) The autosave feature works fine and it works silently in the background. However, I start to experience problems when I have two forms open at the same time. If, for example, I have a form from one folder open, and open a form from a second folder, the save feature will sometimes save the active document to it's original folder (as intended, overwriting itself and creating an autosave) or sometimes save to the second document's original folder. This leaves me with an updated (autosaved) copy of the document in the wrong folder, and a non-updated copy in the original folder. This seems to vary depending on which document I opened last and/or which document is currently active. Though I can't seem to find the right combination.
It's as thought the "this.path" is getting confused.
Part 2) Worse still, if the two documents have the same name, as is often the case with these forms, any incorrect filing when saving causes an overwrite of the second document and loss of data.
Part 3) To makes things maddening, this also happens at times when no second folder or second document is open. Instead, the misfiling saves the single, active document to a recently accessed folder. For example, I'll open a local folder and open a Word doc, close the doc and the folder, go to a different folder in a different root (a networked folder), open the form, and it autosaves to the local machine in the folder with the Word doc. So now not only do I have a non-updated copy in my correct folder, I have no idea where the updated copy was actually saved to until I come across it some time later.
Part 4) Again, worse still, the previously accessed folder might happen to be one that contains a document with the same name, and that document gets overwritten by the autosave. I'll have no idea that the form has been overwritten until I happen to open it some time later and see that it contains data from a totally different form.
What is going on and how do I stop it?
Adobe Acrobat X Pro on a PC.Thank you, that is helpful to understand. I'd like to keep it as 3 parameters, as all my documents currently output 3 to the trusted function. And I'd still like to keep the error catch, but I'm not sure why the previous trusted function from the tutorial is no longer working, so I just want to run this by you:
safeSaveAs = app.trustPropagatorFunction(function(theDoc,thePath,theFileName){
app.beginPriv();
var fullPath = (thePath + theFileName);
try {
theDoc.saveAs({cPath:fullPath});
} catch(e) {
app.alert("Error During Save");
app.endPriv();
myTrustedSaveAs = app.trustedFunction(function(theDoc,thePath,theFileName){
app.beginPriv();
safeSaveAs(theDoc,thePath,theFileName);
app.endPriv(); -

Problem with "save as" for a lvlib
Hi guys
I am trying to make a copy of a bigger LabVIEW project. The whole project is contained within a single project library (lvlib), which has a number of sublibraries. After I choose "save as" for the topmost lvlib, I enter the new library name and location. Finally, the process stops with the following error: 'LabVIEW: Generic error. Cannot save library "xxx.lvlib"'. Nothing is copied. Do you have any ideas where the problem can be?

copy_lvlib_error.PNG 3 KBHi JLS
Thanks for your help. However, if I just copied the VIs into a different folder, their mutual links would not be preserved. This is a major pain when copying bigger LV projects. Copying the whole lvlib solves this issue quite well.
Actually, I've already solved my problem. There were some invalid VI references in some of my VIs. Since they were included only in disabled diagram structures, the code worked well, but for the lvlib copying, probaby they caused the mentioned problem. Since I removed them, the copying works fine.

IDOC: Problem with data filter for IDOC extension field
Hallo!
I've created an idoc extension for the basic type DEBMAS06 that works fine. Now I want to use a data filter for one field ( company code ) of my segment. Every segment with a company code different from 100 should be filtered and not send to the other client. But what happend is that for all customers that have at least one company code different from 100, all segments including the one with cc 100 were deleted and a error "Segment ... does not exist for message type DEBMAS" appeared on the screen.
Does anyone have any ideas about this problem?Not sure about changes to be made at the filtering options.
An alternative would be sending the data to XI as it is and perform the mapping to remove the unnecessary segments.
Disadvantage: Unnecessary processing of segment would be done at XI.
Advantage: The integration logic would be completely handled by XI.

Problem with square function for a calculator
i have done this calculator, which does all of the basic functions. but i am having problems setting up the square function. the calculator is setup is that 2 numbers must be entered. but with a sqaure calculation you only need 1 number. how can i set this up?
this is my current coding:
<code>
import java.io.*;
public class Math
public static String input="";
public static void main(String args[]) throws IOException
BufferedReader getInput = new BufferedReader(new
InputStreamReader(System.in));
int len,
counter=0;
double number1,
number2;
String n1="",
n2="",
operation="";
boolean gotOperation=false;
System.out.println("Please type an equation (eg. 1+1 and press return key)");
input = getInput.readLine();
len=input.length();
System.out.println("");
while(counter!=len){
if(input.charAt(counter)!='+' && input.charAt(counter)!='-' && input.charAt(counter)!='*' && input.charAt(counter)!='/' && input.charAt(counter)!='s' && input.charAt(counter)!='%'){
if(gotOperation==false){
n1=n1 + input.charAt(counter);
counter+=1;
else if(gotOperation==true){
n2=n2 + input.charAt(counter);
counter+=1;
else{
operation = input.charAt(counter) + "";
counter+=1;
gotOperation = true;
number1=Double.parseDouble(n1);
number2=Double.parseDouble(n2);
if(operation.equals("+")){
System.out.println(number1 + number2);
else if(operation.equals("-")){
System.out.println(number1 - number2);
else if(operation.equals("*")){
System.out.println(number1 * number2);
else if(operation.equals("/")){
System.out.println(number1 / number2);
else if(operation.equals("%")){
System.out.println(number1 / number2 * 100 + "%");
else if(operation.equals("s")){
System.out.println(number1 * number1);
</code>
below is where square function is linked
<b>
else if(operation.equals("s")){
System.out.println(number1 * number1);
</b>Here's some code, that does the trick, but no NumberFormatException handling, no division ny zero handling and still a bit clumsy.import java.io.*;

&& input.charAt(counter) != '-'
&& input.charAt(counter) != '*'
&& input.charAt(counter) != '/'
&& input.charAt(counter) != 's'
&& input.charAt(counter) != '%') {

n1 = n1 + input.charAt(counter);
counter += 1;
} else if (gotOperation == true) {
n2 = n2 + input.charAt(counter);

number1 = Double.parseDouble(n1);
number2 = 0.; // init
if (!operation.equals("s")) { //not needed with "s"
number2 = Double.parseDouble(n2);
if (operation.equals("+")) {
System.out.println(number1 + number2);
} else if (operation.equals("-")) {
System.out.println(number1 - number2);

Facing problem with the code for sending an .xls attachment via email, a field value contains leading zeros but excel automatically removes these from display i.e. (00444 with be displayed as 444).kindly guide .
Hi Chhayank,
the problem is not the exported xls. If you have a look inside with Notepad or something like that, you will see that your leading zeros are exported correct.Excel-settings occurs this problem, it is all about how to open the document. If you use the import-assistant you will have no problems because there are options available how to handle the different columns.
Another solution might be to get familiar with ABAP2XLS-Project. I got in my mind, that there is a method implemented, that will help you solving this problem. But that is not a five minute job

For users having problems with Mail functionality...
Hello! I have been having problems with Mail functionality as well, so, I took a few steps to see if I could solve the problem on my own.
My problems were:
Mail would freeze when sending mail, or, when I pressed quit, it would freeze.
If I toggled between inboxes too much it would freeze up.
Even after trying the many techniques others offered on this board, Mail still froze up. So.. here's what I did:
1.) Turn off the auto-retrieve mail function in the preferences/general menu. Set it to a manual check. Just check it yourself every once in awhile. It may not be as convenient, but it works, trust me.
2.) Under the fonts and colors menu, set all three fonts to the SAME font (mines Century Schoolbook, but anything works) and turn off fixed-width font. Sometimes mail has a tough time decoding and working with texts, and causes it to freeze.
3.) Clean our your main inbox! Place the emails that you want to keep, but don't need to be in your inbox in a new folder on your inbox bar (mines aptly named 'Saved Messages.' That way, when you open up Mail to your default account, it doesn't have 1,000+ messages to index. Also, try to keep the inboxes from having more than 100-200 messages per. It seems to frown on any more than that.
After trying these three easy, steps, restart mail and see if things run smoother. I have had no problems since these changes, and mail runs a ton better. Plus you don't have to worry about deleting your library/mail folder anymore. Let me know if things work out so I can see if my theory is a universally proven thing. Thanks and good luck!
iMac G5 20" Mac OS X (10.4.5)Good question. I have worked very little with IMAP other than as a testing device, so, on a daily routine I cannot say how it would function. However, I can only expect that by having the option to download all emails for offline viewing selected, you are right in it being a lag creator. Another suggestion would be, if you are running a single-computer setup, to have the account delete emails from the server after recieving them on your computer. Thus, you reduce the risk of repeat downloads or unnecessary build-up on the server end. DO NOT select this option if you run multiple computer set ups on one AppleMail account system or you will cause some discrepancies and/or data loss from system to system. Or, if you have emails redirected from a seperate server to Mail (i.e. I redirect mail from my university email account into Mail so that I don't have to go to the web-mail site to check it--> just like Gmail or Yahoo etc etc) you won't be able to check them from the web-based email system if you have the system delete them. Ok that sounded confusing. Solution: have the system remove emails from the server after a week (or any period of time, just not immediately) so that, in the off-chance you need to use the online system, you will have access, and will give you a chance to check the emails on other systems without a threat of data corruption (by corruption i mean that frustrating feeling you get when you can't find that super important email that was in your inbox just 10 seconds ago on your desktop etc.)
I will see if I can learn anything more about IMAP Ernie. Its definitley the biggest problem source for Mail, POP and .Mac being simple and functional as long as you don't play with the settings too much. As far as the issue of Offline viewing goes, try turning it off and seeing how Mail functions.
BEFORE you turn it off, however, I recommend saving all of your emails in your inbox as a text file or something so, in case the server burps and has a brain flatuence, you don't lose anything. Been there, done that, thrown the books against the wall in a frustrated rage.
My only reserve about the Offline Viewing is whether or not Mail will, when you click "recieve mail," have to re-download the emails from the server each time. If so, then it may end up taking longer and lagging more. The issue here is obviously minimizing the amount of activity between Mail and the email server without jeapordizing information on the server or multiple Mail programs on the same account. When we can find that balance, I think Mail's potential will be realized. Keep the questions coming. -
Calendar Functionality for a date field in HTML of a ITS service
Hi
I am working with SRM EBP module we want to add date help(with calendar function) to existign date fields in Shopping cart and PO screens . I found some HTML and Javascripts in SYSTEM and BBPGLOBAL services (named as calendar)but not sure which ones to use if anyone used date functionality or even have access to Standard SAP ITS screens that already have date field with calendar fuctionality can you help???????????????
Thanks in AdvanceHi
Let me first thank you for the quick response and timely help you provided calendar popup works great but one minor issue i am not able to click on the date entry and bring the field back into the field not sure if this funcitonality is in show_calendar.
I would really appreciate if you get time to look at below i am almost there with your help......thanks again
Here are the steps I did
I have a HTML page SAPLBBP_SC_UI_ITS screen 300 in SRM module , I created a new HTML page (zcalendar.html) in the same internet service BBPSC01 as suggested and I included in my HTML page SAPLBBP_SC_UI_ITS screen 300 and also I added below code to add a icon and a href call to the show_calendar function.
Code works great I get the popup but when I double click on the date it is not selecting the date into the field back .
Any thoughts??????

Problem with BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE function module
I know lot of posts have been done about problems with this function module. However I was not able to find the answer to my problem. Hence posting a new thread
I have the following code which changes the reason rejection (if required to 'ZF') and also updates the sales order quantity.
The code works absolutely fine as long as the PGI date of the order item is either today or in the future. However if the PGI date of the order item is in the past. I get an error in the t_return table with error type 'E' saying 'PGI date is in the past hence could not update the item'.
If I try to update the same order quantity in VA02 for the item with PGI date in the past it does so without any problem.
Can someone please suggest what the problem might be. Or if there is some other way I can update the quantity. (I dont want to use BDC)

How to block the 'save' function when the required fields are not filled?
Hello, Everyone
I am new for this scripting. My question is:
How to block the 'save' function when the required fields are not filled?
I designed a PDF file with some required fields and I do not want the user to save the document until all required fields are filled. My idea is to write some scripts in Willsave method like:
if (this.getField("Family Name").value == ""){
app.alert('You should fill the Family Name field firstly!');
But I do not think it works as finally the document is saved after all.
Please help me on that!
So much thanks.Dear Randybearwang,
I am a Rocky myself and I know how though it is to establish some good codes. Since I created some forms with validation options myself I might have a code for you. The code also creates an alert box (Yes/no option) if the user chooses yes the form will be validatet, if he chooses "no" the alert window will be closed.If everything is filled out correctly the form will be saved otherwise the textbox will be higlighted and gets focus.
If you need further assistance , please let me know
Have fun with the code.
P.s I don´t know how to upload the "PDF" document. I wrote you an email, please get back to me if you still need the file. -
Paint program with save function
Anyone know a way to make a paint program in flash 8 with
save function?
The paint area should be quite large so the current jpg
saving methods don't seem to work.
Any solutions for this?You probably have to specify what exactly is the problem. Are
you referring to the data size that has to be transfered to a
server? -
Problem with InDesign CC redrawing the screen too slow while using Zoom tool
Hello. I got a problem with InDesign CC redrawing the screen too slow while using Zoom tool. Sometimes it takes more than a secong to zoom in or out. However InDesign CS6, Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC works just fine. What could be the problem, videocard or something else? Below is my PC configuration: OS Windows 8 Pro (x64); processor Intel Core i7 2600k CPU 3,40GHz; video adapter NVIDIA GeForse GTS 450; monitor NEC PA271W (2560x1440).
Yes it’s a bug. The trick is to select the tool and then left click the photo information strip and hold for a few seconds until you see the windows bar at the top of the screen (not responding)

One problem with the function of jdb occured when I tried to use it to
pilot the processor with differents threads. In fact, I use a simple example with 2 threads.
I stop the two threads with two breakpoint, and I want to resume one or the other (with the function "resume 0x****"), the one wich I resumed stop again on the breackpoint and I decide again to resume one or the other. All of that to obtain a tree of execution.
I give you the code of the class and the code of jdb.
CLASS: (it's just a object Room with a variable degre that I increment and decrement with two threads increase and decrease)
public class Test{
public static void main(String[] args){
Room r = new Room();
decrease de = new decrease(r);
increase in = new increase(r);
de.start();
in.start();
class Room {
private volatile int degre=20;
public void more(){
degre += 4;
public void less(){
degre -= 3;
class decrease extends Thread{
private Room room;
public decrease(Room r){
room =r;
public void run(){
try{
while (!interrupted()){
room.less();
catch(InterruptedException e) {}
class increase extends Thread{
private Room room;
public increase(Room r){
room =r;
public void run(){
try{
while (!interrupted()){
room.more();
catch(InterruptedException e) {}

PS: I tried many other examples with other class and other kind of breakpoints, but, in any cases, on thread doesn't manage to resume. When I try with general resume (no specification of the thread), It works but it isn't interresting for me because I want to decide wich thread continue his execution.Hi,
I have read the FAQ of the JMF.
The problem was the jar files of the JMF were not in the JRE\BIN\EXT
folder of the Java runtime!
now it works!
thanks

we have problems with our reports in Collection Manager again. We reboot the CM, but the problems continue.
This is the log of the CM. What can be the problem? Thanks tomo
