Process Management and Subhierarchy Dimension

Hi All,
I'm a little in trouble with this new feature in Hyperion Planning. WE are on 11.1.2.1 version.
So, i defined my Planning Unit (Scenario-Version-Entity) but when i try to add the fourth dimension (Subhierarchy) it doesn't work as i would.
The requirement is to block the access to a subset of accounts after the user has stopped to input the data. However, when he "Promotes" the Planning Unit the result is that all the accounts (not only those selected in the subhierarchy) result in a non-writable status.
the user has write-access on all the Account Hierarchy. I think that this feature allow to block write-access only when the hierarchy is already filtered by security, in particular on those accounts that do not have to enter in the workflow.
If someone has some ideas please tell me... i would like to block only those accounts and not others.

The OPMN process want to start, and it controls all other processes. Periodically it checks if all other process are still running. This is done via an heart beat mechanism. In the opmn.xml file you can see all the components managed by OPMN and their time-out. If the OPMN does not get a response within that time-out it will restart or stop the process. You can set the number of retries before stop/restart the process.
I suggest to increase the tim-out and number of retries.

Process Manager and Integration on AIX

Hello,
We have installed an Application Server 10.1.2.0.2 on AIX, but without Process Manager and Integration. On Metalink it is specified that these products are not Certified but still present on any platform on the Application Server 10.1.2.0.2. On OTN it is said it is 'Projected' and available for windows, linux and Sun.
Could anyone tell me if this will be soon available for AIX? Or is there another way to get these installation files? Is it also possible to use an early version of Process Manager and Integration on the Application Server 10.1.2.0.2?

Process manager and directory 4.13

Good day,
we are into a project to deploy process manager onto our iplanet infrastructure, we already have a corporate directory, v 4.13, I do not want to deploy a second directory for the apps server or the process manager, once the iDS 5.0 SP1 Patch is installed could we use the actual directory for authentication of user and for any other configuration purpose for the apps/process manager, or do I have to install one one the same server then the apps/process manager for configuration purpose only.

I haven't worked too much with security, and now I have to define the users that will be related to the Process Management cycle. Is there any specific role for each phase? Are all the phases necessary?

Hi Anna,
I think that the first and most important step of your task is to understand who the information flows in your organisation. Ask your customer/users how the flow of the information would have been if they did not have HFM. Designing a couple of charts and having your customers to sign-off this process is quite important in my experience.
As soon as you understand which business roles should deliver/review information to the next business role, then start designing the HFM process management.
The first level of Process management is the Not Started. At this level no user can import data except the administrator
The second level of Process management is the First Pass. At this level all users can input data without restrictions.
The third level of Process management is the Review Levels. You have 10 Review Levels per submission. However, one to five review levels is quite enough for most organisations. Consider that the more review levels the more complex your process is. My personal opinion is that 4 review levels are quite good for the majority of the organisations. At RL1, the inputer will input the data, at RL2 the finance director will review the data, at RL3 the hub/region director will review the data and finally at RL4 the group users will review the data.
The review level 4 that I mentioned, can be substitute by the next set of levels which is submit, approve and publish. The status "publish" will allow the entity to be locked which means that not even the administrator will not be able to change the data or calculate the entity.
There are many combinations of how you can setup the process management, so if you have specific questions please let us know.

BPEL Process Manager and Collab Suite

I'm trying to get BPEL Process Manager installed with Collaboration Suite.
I installed it into the OID database, now I'm following a document entitled "Content Services 10g r1 Custom Workflows" to try and set it up.
I'm currently trying to get it configured with OID. I've modified jazn.xml in <ORACLE_HOME>/j2ee/OC4J_BPEL/config and <ORACLE_HOME/integration/orabpel/system/appserver/oc4j/j2ee/home/config, also the orion-application.xml file and the is_config.xml file.
When I try to login to the work list app, the URL changes to /worklistapp/TaskList (so I presume I'm being authenticated), but I get a "500 Internal Server Error". The following error message appears in the server.log file:

Ok, don't ask me why, but I tried restarting infrastructure, and it seems to be working now?!!!
I don't know whether it would make a difference as well but for the moment I'm using the IP address of the server to access it because our internal DNS seems to be playing up.

Business Process Manager.
As our secure services are using JWSDP so thats the reason we prefer to
use the BPEL engine which deployed on top of JWSDP so that We dont
have to confront with compatable issues among different toolkits.
So I am just wondering do you think that Oracle business process manager
ws-secuirity implementation can use the JWSDP implementation i.e
xws-security implementation,in otherwords is it possible to use JWSDP

when us install BPEL you do get BPELs human workflow component. This is different to the Oracle Oracle workflow which was based on the database and PL/SQL.

S9 EPM Architect Process Manager fails to start.

Hi All,
     I just tried doing Hyperion System9 installation and am encountering a problem.
     The Problem is, Installations are all done and the Configuration also seems to be
     fine as i get to know from seeing the Configuration utility window, but once i am done with
     configuring the Performance Management Architect, i tried starting the
     Hyperion S9 EPM Architect Process Manager and it was not starting,even i tried increasing the
     timeout setting for the startup of the dimension Server in the BPMA_Server_Config.xml file.Still
     it failed in starting..
     Other than all the steps mentioned in the doc,Few steps i skipped during the Planning Installation was,
     1.I didnt check the Activate instance option while creating the Planning Instance
     2.I didnt Increase the Heap Size of App Server.
     So could someone please suggest on what is creating the Problem during the startup.

For more detailed information on why it is not starting have a look in windows event log. In windows go to administrative tools > event viewer > application
Double click HyS9BPMA_ProcessManager and there should be a more detailed description in the window.
e.g. Service cannot be started. Hyperion.DimensionServer.ProcessManager.Interface.ProcessManagerException: Process Manager could not start because database connectivity could not be established. --->

Help needed in oracle 11g soa suite.........(BPEL Process manager)

we tried to download bpel process manager 11g but as per oracle it is under Oracle Fusion Middleware 11gR1 so we have downloaded the same also.....*
but the problem is agter installation we are not getting anuthing called oracle bpel process manager and also we are not able to run soa suite..........*
Can you please suggest how we can install the same or is there any other way so that we can run bpel process manager.*

Download SOA 11.1.1.2.0 from OTN.
1. Don't forget to download RCU (Repository Configuration Utility). It is an extractable zip folder. Extract it. Navigate to its bin folder. Invoke rcu.sh/rcu.bat. It will open RCU. Choose Create. Enter your db details. In the next screen, choose SOA Infrastructure schema. Provide a schema prefix. Default would be 'DEV'. Proceed with further steps.
2. After installing 11gR1, navigate to your $ORACLE_HOME/common/bin
Invoke config.sh/config.cmd based on your OS. This will open the configuration wizard.
Choose create domain option. Enter the domain name. Select the templates: SOA Suite and Enterprise Manager. In the JDBC Datasources screen, enter the SOA schema information, db details. Complete the wizard. No need to customize anything else. This will create a SOA Domain.
3. Run the setNMProps.sh/cmd from $MW_HOME/oracle_common/common/bin folder.
4. Navigate to $MW_HOME/wlserver_10.3/server/bin. Execute startNodeManager.sh/cmd. This will start the node manager.
5. Now navigate to your $DOMAIN_HOME. You will be able to find startWeblogic.cmd/sh file. Execute it. This will start your Admin Server.
6. Once the server started, login to WLS Admin Console (http://host:7001/console). Navigate to Servers. Click on Control tab. Select soa_server1. Start the server.
This will start the SOA server. To test your soa is up, access the url http://host:8001/soa-infra
There is no BPEL Console/ ESB Console / OWSM console in 11g. Everything is managed from your EM. EM url would be http://host:admin_server_port/em (http://host:7001/em)

Does Oracle BPEL process manager ships jdeveloper bpel designer

I had downloaded Oracle bpel process manager and installed on my desktop but I am unable to find jdeveloper bpel designer shiped with process manager.
Could any one update me regarding the same

Follow the steps which I have mentioned.If you want to start with BPEL you can do either of the two things.
1) If you are interested in only BPEL then download and install BPEL server from oracle site. For coding you need to have Jdeveloper.
or
2) If you want to use all the components of SOA then download version 10.1.3.1 and install SOA suite. Apply Patch to upgrade version to 10.1.3.3.
After installation of server, download Jdeveloper 10g and Unzip the file to use it.

Workflow Process Manager - Could not route message to WfProcMgr with regist

We recently started getting a strange error in our DEV environment:
Could not route message to WfProcMgr with registered key (null)
This is happening with the Server Component, Workflow Process Manager, and all services associated with this.
We are using Siebel v7.8.2.8. If anybody can provide any pointers, it would be of great help!

The target workflow that I am triggering from the WfProcMgr is a custom workflow and it does not have a BO defined. So, the Object Id should not be a mandatory field (I am in any case, not passing any Object Id). Nevertheless, whether I have an Object Id or I do not, I would assume that the Workflow would at least get triggered. I donot see as to why the Workflow would not trigger at all.
Though Siebel does act weird at times, I think the error I am getting is still somehow related to the actual cause! I would really like to understand as to where is this Registered Key stored in Siebel that it is continually searching for.
*When you say "Workflow Process Manager server component directly" do you mean like in a eScript
call in e.g. a Business Service?*
Please refer the second part of my previous post for this. I am trying through Server Requests BS and through Workflow Policies.

the part of the upgrade is to run the upgrade scritps. Since the db is lite, we have to use msql via jdbc connection. But I have no idea what's the db name created under 10.1.3.1. Checked ORACLE_HOME/install/readme, there seem no such info. it could be the instance name in the readme. But had it tried, no work.

Jdev version compatible with BPEL Process Manager

Hi,
I would like to know if there is any compatibility issues between the versions of JDev and BPEL Process Manager. (Please note we have only BPEL Process Manager and not the complete SOA suite).

The documentation would mention to use same versions, but may be not be the exact justification. However, here it goes : mostly for testcases related to humanworkflows/custom worklist applications.
