Replace a file which has a specific ID with another one

I want to replace a file with another one using JSOM, but preserving all other associated fields (like Author and other custom columns in the document library)
How can I select the file I want to replace using the ID field?
For example, when I update a regular List Item, I use
this.oListItem = oList.getItemById(the_given_ID);
oListItem.set_item('Title', value);
How can I do that for a file?
I want to replace the file, not to update its content!

Hi,
Per my understanding, you might want to replace the file in a library with other associated fields preserved using JavaScript Client Object Model.
There seems no direct way can achieve what you want, as a workaround, you can upload the new file into this library, get the values of the associated fields from a
specific item and populate them in the current item, then delete the original file from this library.
By doing this, the original file will be deleted, a new file with the same properties will appear with a new ID.

How to read a file which has header and without header

Hi,
I have a file to file scenario wherein there are txt files in the source system, some of which has header and some without header.
How does the sender adapter dynamically identify a file with header and without header.
I knew that File content Conversion in the sender adapter with "Recordsets per message = 1" can read the header. But how to handle dynamically.

Let me give a more clear picture:-
One of my file which has header and the corresponding values is listed hereunder:
PERNR;KID;PNALT;NACHN;NAME2;VORNA;TITEL;TITL2 and so on.....
;1200;1200;Angus;; and so on.........
Other file which has no header but only values in it:-
1200;1200;;Werner;Angus and so on.......
The structure remains same for all the files. The only difference is that some of the file has header in it and some without header. The Message Type is mentioned hereunder:-
DT_LegacyEmployee (Category - Complex Type)
     Employees (Category - Element, Occurence - 1)
          Employee (Categroy - Element, Type - DT_LegacyEmployee_Row, Occurence - 0...unbounded)
               PERNR
               KID
               PNALT
               NACHN
               NAME2 and so on......
I read the file in record row. The file conversion parameters in the file sender adapter are mentioned hereunder:-

Key Field Type - String (Case Sensitive)

How do we dynamically identify whether the file has header or not. Even if the file has header or without header, the file needs to be picked and transferred to the target system. Kindly clarify.

File Adapter not processing Files which has COMMA in it

Hi Experts,
I am working on Project in SOA 11.1.1.6.
I am trying to process a file which has comma in it. for eg - XXXXXXX-XX_XX_XXX11,99.pdf
I am picking the file using file adapter from SOURCE directory and using another file adapter to WRITE to destination directory. Polling processing is working fine.
I am picking the file from SOURCE directory as ATTACHMENT and WRITING to DESTINATION folder through File Adapter
While doing file WRITE its failing. While reading the file the values of Content Type, Character Set and Encoding are NULL for the ATTACHMENT as they are optional properties.
The error I am getting while File WRITE is

Comma is usually treated as a separator/delimiter and hence it is not really common to have comma in filename. I think because of this reason File adapter does not support it (have to cross-verify). If you really have a requirement to read/write files with comma in filename then better log a SR with Oracle support.

The issue is encountered because the text delimiter used in the source file did not consist of a pair of delimiters.

Ah, do you mean it's showing in the header bar?
If so, hold cmd (⌘) while you drag it off to the desktop. It'll disappear in a puff of virtual smoke.
Don't worry, you won't lose the file; the icon in the header (and those in the sidebar) is just an alias.

You split it up to post two accounting documents with the help of a "suspense" a/c.
Say, you have to post the following line items below:
line 1 - dr. - GL a/c X - $1000
line 2 - cr. - GL a/c Y - $1
line 3 - cr. - GL a/c Y - $1
line 1001 - cr. - GL a/c Y - $1
You cannot post the above as a single doc in SAP (because of technical reasons), so you need to break it up into 2 documents as below:
Doc1
line 1 - dr - GL a/c X - $1000
line 2 - cr - GL a/c Y - $1
line 3 - cr - GL a/c Y - $1
line 998 - cr - GL a/c Y - $1
line 999 - cr - SUSPENSE a/c - $3
Doc2
line 1 - dr - SUSPENSE a/c - $3
line 2 - cr - GL a/c Y - $3
Note that there is no incorrect impact on accounting as first we credit suspense a/c by $3 and next we debit the same suspense a/c by $3 as a result the effect is nil. Similarly, we credit $997 to GL a/c Y (which is less by $3) in the first doc which is compensated by the second doc by crediting the shortfall of $3.

Never never put your documents in the C drive.
Many things can go wrong, and whenevr you have to reinstall os, your files would be gone! Take some pain now and partition the drive now, or you will feel helpless when your c drive is removed by failure of os or some **bleep** virus.
Simple solution: partition the C drive.
Step 1: download G-Parted software
Step 2: put it in live usb.
Step 3: boot your computer with the usb plugged in.
Step 4: then REDUCE THE SIZE of c drive.
Step 5: suppose you reduced by 100 GB, then divide that 100 gb into other drive. PUT your files here.
WARNING: I WOULD RECOMMEND TAKING BACKUP OF C DRIVE , AND THEN REDUCING ITS SIZE, INCASE SOMETHING GOES WRONG.
You can search in internet about partition and gparted.

How to replace a layer which has a mask applied without affecting the mask?

I have a layer with a photo. I have animated a mask on this layer, but now the client wants the photo replaced with another one. When I add a new photo to a new layer and copy the mask properties from the good working layer, the mask winds up in a different place than the original. I've tried doing a replace footage with the source photo trying to make it the new photo but same results, the mask always gets repositioned.
How can I replace an image on a layer that has an animated mask on it with another one without affecting the mask?

Thanks everyone. Now that I understand more about Track Mattes it works fine. I can scale and position new layers under the animated mask. This helps tremendously

Welcome to the  discussion forums.
Try going to synching in the sources menu on your tv and selecting 'change itunes library', when it gives you the passcode check itunes to see if the tv is showing up as a new device, if so try entering the pass code. It may be that your tv is seeing itunes as a different library because of a recent upgrade.

I bougnt a full master pack CS6 which I had installed on a mac for one year. Then, I decided to change it to another computer, so I sisintalled it according to instructions. In the meantime I got a free trial of creative cloud on that computer, but I gave up and decided to reinstall my cd-roms. However, everytime I try to use acrobat for instance it says that my trial period ran out! I disinstalled my cloud products, I am using my registered full master series items, they have nothing whatsoever to do with my creative cloud FREE subscription. If I try to cancel my free membership, it is to no avail, there simply is no such possiblity. I want to use the software I paid dearly for, not the cloud items I disinstalled and which do not interest me. How can I contact Adobe to fix it? It was no fault of mine, I did all I was supposed to, disintalling items before installing the right ones, but the system must have some error i am not responsible for.

how do I remove a gmail calendar which has inadvertantly become merged with my home apple calendar?
I have to view the gmail calendar as well, but now some entries are appearing as duplicates.
Currently I view my own apple calendar (home), a gmail calendar, a googlemail calendar and a friend's icloud calendar on the same screen - (all view only).
Hiding or deleting either the gmail OR the Home calender leaves me with missing entries.
Showing both gives duplicates.
Help please.
Earlier today, I lost my friend's calendar (icloud on an iPad) when he accidentally changed something. Trying to get that back (unsuccessfully) he or I must have inadvertantly changed someting, but don't know what.
I also view my calendar on ipad2 and iphone 5, but have not touched any of these settings.
Getting desperate! - the gmail and googlemail are the church calendars and there will be chaos if I can't get this fixed!

pretty sure in the settings -> email and stuff or maybe the notifications you can disable the gmail calendar at least theres where mine are along with the facebook and the other calendars you can add and remove

I am receiving excel files, which I need to convert with my macbook pro...I did this with export, but the file I got didnt show graphs as it should...can you help...do I need to buy excel for Apple computer, or is there any easier way of dealing with it..does App "Numbers" help here?

Numbers should be able to read Excel files without any problems. If Numbers does not read the graphics properly then you can try Excel Online. https://office.live.com/start/Excel.aspx

i had to replace my i4s phone with another one from the apple store. i need to download all my contact info and other stuff from the cloud to my new phone.i see a screen that says RESTORE I PHONE and are you sure you want to restore the iphone to its facory settings? all of your media and other data will be erased. they i tunes will verify restore with apple. After this you will have the option to restore your contacts and other settins. The question is will it restore my first phones info? I am hesitant to delete anything lol.

No. If you made your backup to iCloud, iTunes will not restore from an iCloud backup. See:

How to register a schema use a .xsd file which has lots of includes schema

Hello, All,
Does someone have the experience to register a schema use a .xsd file which contains several tags like <xs:include schemaLocation="../dt/somedatatypes.xsd"/>?
I tried both the OEM and command line dbms_xmlschema.registerSchema(), although the whole file structure already in the repository, seems like Oracle can't automatically search and find the includes and register it. should I register those includes first? the actual error I got is "ORA-31000: Resource '../dt/somedatatypes.xsd' is not an XDB schema document.ORA-06512: at "XDB.DBMS_XMLSCHEMA_INT", line 0 ORA-06512: at "XDB.DBMS_XMLSCHEMA", line 26 ORA-06512: at line 2" .

We do not (currently) support relative references in included XML Schemas.
In order to use an include or import the target Schema must first be registered with XML DB under some known location. The schemaLocation argument needs to the 'Docuemnt Location Hint', or URL, that was passed to registerSchema when the included schema was registered.
If you have cyclic dependancies between schemas you can use the force option of registerSchema to register the first Schema. This will then allow registration of the second schema to succeed. Once the second schema has been successfully registed the first schema must be explicitiy recompiled using dbms_xmlschema.compileSchema().
