Hi All,
I am trying to deploy a Web App ( used Top Link Essentials ) to Tomcat and i am getting the following Error..
I am strating tomcat using -javaagent:/Path/To/spring-agaent.jar

Spring 2.0 provides custom support for TopLink Essentials in Tomcat out-of-the-box. You should follow the instructions here: http://static.springframework.org/spring/docs/2.0.x/reference/orm.html#orm-jpa-setup-lcemfb-tomcat
Essentially, Spring provides a custom class loader for Tomcat and doesn't use an agent.

    you are probably using a older version of 6.1. please use the latest service pack. Service Packs are mostly bug fix releases and they are safe to be upgraded even on production systems. Please note - we always recommend using the latest service pack

    Thanks. I find the issue. Should only deploy ViewController project to war and don't deploy Model project at all. Let Application level deployment take care of it.
    Beside, I have a question, I currently deploy inside JDeveloper. In my standalone WLS, I deploy some of my shared library. Is there any way to specify the shared library name (goes into weblogic-application.xml) when I deploying inside JDeveloper? Or I have to deploy to ear file first, unzip, update weblogic-applciation.xml and zip up the ear file and deploy the ear file to standalone WLS by hand?

  • Remove association refrence using JPA Toplink-essentials

    Hey,
    I have this model:
    @Entity
    public class Employee {
    @OneToMany(Cascade={CascadeType.PERSIST,CascadeType.MERGE})
    private Address address;
    @Entity
    public class Address{
    private String city;
    Default Scenario :
    If i persist an employee object in the db.So the address object will also persist in the db.if i delete the employee object,address object will not deleted since
    Our needs is :
    if i delete the employee object , The address data will be not deleted.
    Any help?

    Not sure I understand, the CascadeType.REMOVE controls if the remove operation is cascaded. Since you have not specified cascade remove a remove will not be cascaded, which seems to be what you want?

  • Help using JMX to Get Context of Deployed Web Apps

    I think this question is more of a JMX question that anything else (like a JNDI question), so I am posting here. If anyone feels this should be posted elsewhere, please let me know.
    I want to be able to get a handle to each deployed web app's context, so that I may get a BasicDataSource from it, then look at the connection attributes inside of that BasicDataSource, i.e., Number of active connections, number of idle connections, etc. for each deployed web app.
    This is the path I am heading down (if there is another way, please let me know). The code below is inside of a JSP running inside of a web app within my Tomcat 5.0.16 server, running JDK 1.4.2.
    Here is the entire JSP...

        MBeanServer mBeanServer = MBeanUtils.createServer();

            System.out.println(">>> cname = " + cname.toString()); // this prints something like this: Catalina:j2eeType=WebModule,name=//localhost/accesstracker,J2EEApplication=none,J2EEServer=none
                Is this the right way to do this??? I seem to be getting the web app, I just want to be able to
                get a handle to that web app's context, get a BasicDataSource from it, then look at the connection
                attributes inside of that BasicDataSource, i.e., Number of active connections, number of idle
                connections, etc. for each deployed web app
            //javax.naming.Context iCtx = (javax.naming.Context) mBeanServer.invoke(cname, "findStaticResources", null, null); // will this do it???
            Object obj = new InitialContext().lookup("java:comp/env"); // this only gets the current context (the web app I'm currently in)
            if(obj != null){
                Context envCtx = (Context) obj;
                appName = (String) envCtx.lookup("appName");
                ds = (BasicDataSource) envCtx.lookup("jdbc/raptor");
            }else{
                System.out.println("obj is null");
    %>      <%=cname.toString()%><br/>
            Application name: <%=appName%><br/>
              Number of Active Connections = <%=ds.getNumActive()%>
            <br/>
              Number of Idle Connections = <%=ds.getNumIdle()%>
            <br/>
              Initial Size of Pool = <%=ds.getInitialSize()%>
            <br/>
              Maximum Number of Active Connections = <%=ds.getMaxActive()%>
            <br/>
    <%
    %>
        </body>
    </html>The above JSP will output all of the info for each deployed web app, however, when it gets to getting the Context of the web app, it simply outputs information repeatedly for the web app this JSP is in (which makes sense since I'm using InitialContext).
    I appreciate any help anyone could provide.
    Thank you

    If you want your application to work only with specific JRE version, you should use static versioning. I installed JRE 1.3.1_15 and JRE 5.0U5 , both of them works successfully. I used the below syntax to load applets:

  • If an app uses JPA with a WAR, where does persistence.xml go?

    If I'm constructing an app using JPA entities, but just in a WAR file, not an EAR file, as I'm not using the other EJB components, where does the persistence.xml file get deployed to? Is it just WEB-INF/classes, or do I have to do something like WEB-INF/classes/META-INF (one resource i saw implied this)?

If you're using JDeveloper or Eclipse Webtools and you put the persistence.xml in src\META-INF compiling will put it into WEB-INF\classes\META-INF for you.

  • Estimate ADF web app use size in Weblogic - quick question

    Hi
    1- Is there a good way to estimate or get a better accurate measurement of the amount of memory required/used by a running ADF app within Weblogic Server ?
    Eg How much memory footprint does a deployed ADF app uses (not including those apps that comes with weblogic installs in the deployment section of WLS UI) ?
    2- Because we have ADF as a web app, is there a usually a big increase in memory usages of ADF web app when more people are logged in ?
    Any memory tool as a quick way to get the memory sizes ?
    Thanks

    AFAIK,You need to first calculate the live data size for your application with the help of the GC logs to find out the ideal memory for your app to run :)
    You can enable the GC logs -XX:+PrintGCTimeStamps -XX:+PrintGCDetails -Xloggc:<Filename> to find out the live data size for your application
    Tools to monitor the applications:
    JConsole/VisualVM/JRMC

    In short NO. What you have to do is to go through various tunning options at all the layers of ADF to increase performance as well as to have minimum memory consumption. Go through the Fusion Middle ware guide for the same. You can other memory profilers to understand how the memory is used by the application.

  • Two web apps using the same EJB client jar

    I am currently deploying two web apps on a server. Both web apps use an EJB client
    jar (the same jar) to access EJB's and both apps work when tested independently.
    The problem arises when I log into app A and then log into app B. As soon as
    I do app A loses it's references to the EJBHomes, and other classes.
    It seems a classloader is unloading the first classes and instances loaded by
    the first app and then loading them from app B's client.jar.
    If I put the client.jar in the system classpath everything is fine, but that's
    just a hack.
    Is it not possible to deploy two web apps on a server using the same client.jar's
    in their own WEB-INF/lib's?

    Joe,
    As Pravin mentions, the checking of those boxes in Workbench triggers scheduled jobs within the EAC that kicks off the scripts at the appropriate time/day. But as you've noticed, there's not a ton of flexibility and you don't get cron or Windows Scheduler-type capabilities.
    If you need to do something special, you can manually kick off the report generation scripts from your control directory using the runcommand.bat (or sh) script or place the command into a cron/Windows Scheduler job:
    For example, to kick off the WeeklyReports job, you would do this:
    runcommand.sh WeeklyReports runSo, assuming you go down the route of creating multiple ReportGenerators and scripts, you would create a job to kick off the new script you've created at the appropriate time.
    Hope that helps,
    Patrick

  • (Re)Deploying web apps under [/] on SJSAS PE8

    I need some help on deploying web app under root []of the default virtual server.
    The problem is when specifying "Default Web Module" for the virtual servers I guess...
    How can I use asadmin or Ant task to deploy a directory under / ?
    Is it possible to use asadmin to specify virtual server's "Default Web Module" without restarting it.
    The optimal goal is to have ability to deploy/redeploy/undeploy a web app under / via ant task without restarting the domain itself....
    How can I accomplish this under SJSAS PE8?
    Any help on this topic is appreciated...

    You may want to look at the responses in this thread:
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=136&thread=529445&tstart=0&trange=50
    This thread may also be helpful:
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=136&thread=526094&tstart=0&trange=15
    Note:
    If the "redirect" that happens when you try to access the "docroot" of the admin instance is acceptable behavior, you may want to look at the differences between the 'server' and __asadmin Virtual Server.
    While you can do that with any text editor, I would suggest that you use the admin console app to do this.
    By deleting the docroot property and setting the default web module property you may be able to get the behavior you want.
    You will have to deploy the web app, with a context-root that is NOT / and restart the app server.
    You should be able to redeploy your web app "normally" after that, though....

  • Unable to create web app with PowerShell - An update conflict has occurred

    I am trying to create a new Web Application using PowerShell. I need to use PowerShell because I need to create the Web App using classic authentication and not Claims authentication. the first time I created the Web App, everything went great. Ever since
    the first time, I get an error and the web app creation does not complete. Just as an FYI, I can create a new Web App using Central Admin, but that creates it with Claims authentication which I cannot use.
    Here is my PowerShell script
    New-SPWebApplication -Name "SharePoint2013 (82)" -ApplicationPool "SharePoint2013-82" -AuthenticationMethod "NTLM" -ApplicationPoolAccount (Get-SPManagedAccount "GLOBAL\SP_AppPool") -Port 82 -URL "http://sharepoint2013"
    Here is the error I get in PowerShell
    New-SPWebApplication : An update conflict has occurred, and you must re-try this action. The object SPWebApplication

    I have tried to resolve the issue by performing the following:
    Delete the partially created web app using Central Admin or PowerShell
    Clear the file system cache on all servers in the farm (Stopping wss timer job, Saving Copy of the
    cache.ini file from C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\application data\Microsoft\SharePoint\Config folder. Clearing all the .xml files from the location except cache.ini but Edit the cache.ini to have value 1. Starting the timer job)
    Use Products Configuration Wizard (no detach, just 'upgrade') - People have said to select the option to disconnect the server from server farm and revert back again at next step (so you actually do not disconnect), but there is no next step that I have
    encountered. You select 'disconnect', hit next, and the server disconnects.
    Restart all the servers in the farm
    Run the PowerShell script again...still get the same error
    I have tried it on multiple servers in the farm too.

    If it doesn’t work, sometimes the issue might be caused by long time keep powershell opening and generating some cache files. So please try re-opening the powershell and test the issue again.

    You could use datasources. You should do this in your BC4J Configuration. Then when deploying your applicaiton use the command -installDataSource (from admin.jar) to create the right datasource.
    You could probably use the name of your connection + "DS" so you can also use it locally in JDeveloper as JDev seesm to create this automaticly for your Connections.

  • Deployed web app can't be server default?

    hey folks.
    i've deployed a web app (i can see it in the console under "web

    i want to make this web app the default for my server. i went
    to the "target" tab for the web app and made my server the target.
    however, when i go to my server's HTTP page, there's nothing but

    Hi, Gene.
    Check with support. Switching the default webapp by modifying config.xml is
    more compilicated than I descripted in my post. I wish support could address
    this regression ASAP.

    This seems like a pretty serious regression!
    I created a new war directory (testwar), and tried manually modifyingconfig.xml to switch to a new
    DefaultWebApp, called "testwar". Unfortunately, I get the followingcomplaint of mbean unable to
    find "testwar" component when I restart the server. I looked inconfig.xml and sure enough,
    "testwar" component isn't registered there; seems like the admin serverwas able to detect my
    creation of a new war directory, gives me the message that testwar isdeployed, but did not write
    this info into config.xml!
    This is another reason why manual editting of config.xml is unadvisable,and that this regression
    further exacerbates the problem! Is there a quick patch fix to this???

    It is a bug in SP1. We just create a case. At the same time, you can use
    your editor to open config.xml, search the following section:
    <WebServer
    ClusteringEnabled="true"
    Targets="mycluster"
    />
    Add or modify following line:
    <WebServer
