Using Java in APEX apps: loading with loadjava

I'm trying to load my .class and .jar files into the DB (11.1) with loadjava. Resolver issues abound. I've looked at the demo's provided with the DB and the Makefile shows a -oracleresolver parameter that I can't seem to find a definition for anywhere. Can anyone break it down for me into a standard resolver spec? It seems to make things go easier for me when I use it. The usual command string looks like this: loadjava -f -v -r -oracleresolver -o -u scott/tiger MyStuff.class

Java applications won't load with bridge installed

I am using JAWS (Job Access With Speech) by Freedom Scientific, version 4.02 which is supposed to work with the current version of the Access Bridge. I am also using Java 2 JDK 1.3.0 on an NT 4.0 system. When I turn on the java console window and run my applet from IE 5, the JAWS program crashes. When I turn off the java console window and run the applet with JAWS running, the applet does not load. The applet loads and runs fine without JAWS running. I will double-check the Access Bridge installation procedures to see if I missed something. Meanwhile, if anyone has some thoughts or suggestions, lemme know.

Just an update on this. I used the 1.3.0_05 version of the JDK and the applet worked!

How to use java security in a servelt with weblogic as a servlet engine?

i want to use standard java security with a user defined permission in
servlet with wls 5.1 (Win nt) as a servelt engine.
WL-Home: f:\weblogic
Server: f:\weblogic\elan
Servlet: f:\weblogic\elan\elan\ServletGropsTest.class
The Servlet is registered in weblogic.properties:
weblogic.httpd.register.elan.ServletGropsTest=elan.ServletGropsTest
i've added this to the weblogic.policy:

The servlet code is:

Can i use java only for database transaction with vb as a front end

I am sorry,i don't know whether this location is the correct location to post my question or not
I have developed one application using complete vb only. That is completly desktop appliation and not suitable for centralized database. Is there any facility to keep my front end as same (vb application) and for the database transaction can i use jdbc? Is there any possibility to do that like View is vb based application and the database connectivity is only jdbc

How can I load an applet using Java Plug-in?

I have written an applet and have tested with appletviewer, but I can't load it from a browser. Ghlin told me that I need to use Java Plug-in to load it. Please tell me how.

Click on the Products and API link at the top left of this page. Download the Java Plugin. Be sure to get the developers version. Inside that developer's version there is a tool called HTMLConverter. Run HTMLConverter on your HTML and it will modify the applet tag in such a way that if the user already has the Java Plugin then it will use it. IF not, then the user will be asked if he wants to download it.

Apex application registered with sso as partner application

We have 1 apex app registered with sso and working properly.
I just registered a new apex application with sso. when i authenticate through sso, it directs me to the originally registered application.
I went in through the portal administrator app and verified my settings all pointed to the new application. I verified that my dad is set up correctly.
Any ideas?

BUG: retrieving NCHAR value using ViewObject returns "???" with OCI driver

after upgrading JDeveloper to 10.1.3.1 we cannot use OCI JDBC drivers, because they don't work correctly - characters, that do not exist in database character set (EE8ISO8859P2 in our case) are converted to "?". Thin driver works well. We need to use OCI, because we had some issues with RAC with thin driver.
Test case is easy: create table with NCHAR column, populate with unicode data, create ViewObject to select from this table and it will work only with THIN and not with OCI driver. This worked well with 10.1.3.0. When I tried to directly connect to DB and select that table using java.sql.Statement, it worked with both drivers, that's why I suspect the mechanics inside ADF BC.
I logged a SR for this in Metalink, but try this way as well, for someone else could hit the same problem.

Applet does not load using java 1.5 through reverse proxy with certific...

we have the following problem:
When using java 1.5 in our browser, our applet does not load. Using java 1.4.2 it works. It also works using java 1.5.0 using another reverse proxy.
The differences between the 2 reverse proxies (one works, one works not) we use is that the one through which the applet does not load has a certificate installed that is not for its hostname. Can this be the reason the applet does not load? Where can I find information about the sandbox of java 1.5.0 concerning these issues. Are there any docs of the security restrictions imposed by java 1.5.0 sandbox?
