Wrong Period end date set in Fiscal year variant

Hi all,
Can anyone please advise any solutions for my case? Thank you very much in advance.
In my system, a 5-4-4 fiscal year variant has been set. However, the period end date is incorrect.
For example, period 1 end date should be 5th Apr but saved with 6th Apr,
period 2 end date should be 3rd May but saved with 4th May.
The Asset planned depreciation has been posted in 6th Apr and 4th May.
I found I cannot revise the fiscal year variant. Please advise if I need to create a new Fiscal Year Variant If I need to adjust it? Thanks again.
Best Regards,
Gary

  • HOW TO GET FISCAL PERIOD WISE DATA BY GIVING FISCAL YEAR AS INPUT

    Hi All,
I am creating a report where input field is FiscYear(0FISCYEAR). My fiscal year is Oct to Sep and 4 spl periods.
If we give input as 2014 (current FY) it has to show all fiscal periods as on date. i.e., Oct’13 to Feb’14.  Which should show in columns each period
    separately, like Oct 13, Nov’13, …. Feb’14.
If we give 2013, it has to show all fiscal periods separately each period in columns. i.e., Oct’12 to Sep’13.
InfoProvider Data: We have a cube, containing data for 0CALMONTH and Fiscal Year. No fiscperiod in the cube.
Could any one assist here as it’s a bit odd scenario never come across. All your suggestions and assistance are highly appreciable.

  • Different fiscal year variants

Our client follows two fiscal year variants. For global reporting purpose they follow a different convention 445. For meeting local reporting requirements at subsidiaries in different countries calendar year Jan to Dec is followed. Both the fiscal year variants will have different start and end dates for any fiscal year. As far as GL reporting is concerned we could achieve this by using new ledger solution.
I am facing a challenge while configuring these two different fiscal year variants in asset accounting. I am planning to use 445 for my 01 area and I want to create another depreciation area for the calendar year reporting, but I am not able to do it.
I am getting the below error message
AC539 :Fiscal year variants in co.code  have inconsistent start date
    Diagnosis
The first day of the fiscal year for variant K4 in company code in Asset Accounting differs from the first day of the fiscal year for variant SD in General Ledger Accounting.
However, both variants must have the same start and end date! Only the periods within the fiscal year can be different in the two variants.
Does any body have come across similar situation and what would be the solution to achieve this ?

    Hello Reuta Kulkarni,
there is no standard functionality available to cover your requirement. Still, a customer specific project solution for a workaround can be offered by SAP Custom Development. Please note, that such a solution requires detailed analysis of the customer requirements and is chargeable.
If you are interested you will find details in note 1175751.

  • Funds Management and Fiscal Year Variant Change

    Hello !
We are configuring a new fiscal year variant.
Currently, the system is on a CALENDAR YEAR FY variant and we are doing the following:
    1. creating a shortened FY of Jan 2009 - Mar 2009
    2. new fiscal year from April 2009 - Mar 2010
We are trying to change the FY variant for Funds Management via OF15 but receive the error FI674.
    FI674:
You must not change the fiscal year variant in Cash Budget Management or Funds Management for FM area FM01 if actual data already exists for FM area FM01, or if one or more of the company codes assigned to FM area FM01 is active.
We have found oss note 719597 which details how to change the FY variant for Cash Budget Mgmt, but it does not apply to Funds management.
I could find no other supporting documentation.
Can anyone guide us as to how to deal with this issue?
    Thank=you !

    Hello Patti,
The point is that it is not possible to change fiscal year variant if actual values exists.
You are trying to do a change in January. You probably have some postings in 2009 already.
In the area of PSM-FM there is no note like 719597 of TR-CB.
Only if no actual values exist, this customizing change would be possible and reasonable.
If you are doing this setting in your customizing client, you can delete the postings (please DO NOT do it if you are in production) that exist in 2009 and try again.
SAP do not recommend to change a Fiscal Year Variant that has already been assigned to a company code and has already some postings. This may  create database inconsistencies.
You can create another Fiscal Year Variant with the information that you want to be customize, and this variant you will be able to assign to a company code. Before you assign this new variant to a company
code please be sure that none of the information that you already posted in this company code will be affected, this information you may review it with your consultant on-site.
    Also please review/apply note 173636, 202687, 10945, 193713, 123026, 210861 which may happen in your system.
The fiscal period is related to the posting date via the fiscal year variant. E.g.: I you do a posting on 5.5.2009 it will be posted e.g. in period 5 for fiscal year variant 'A'. This period is not only used in the document header table (BKPF,VBRK,MKPF ...) but also in several balance table (GLT0, KNC1 ...) not only in FI but also in SD, MM, CO .... If in the new  fiscal year variant 'B' this posting date is related to another period e.g. 7 the relation between documents and Periods and balances will be destroyed.
The problem will be enhanced if the posting-date would be related to diffrent fiscal years.
In addition several reports in AP/AR and GL reread period-depend data by selecting the posting-date regardless of the period in the document because it's not normal practise to change the fiscal year variant of a company code.
Some of the involved issues are:
    - FM actuals and commitments may need to be reconstructed if their period- (or even fiscal year-) assignments is changed.
    - FM actuals/commitments can not be reconstructed if fiscal year change activities have already been performed (commitment carry forward, FMJ1, FMJ2).
    - Budgeting data and assigned values may principally be concerned as well, especially if you are working with period values in budgeting.
The change of fiscal year variant has several implications and should be analyzed very carefully.
Please check note below for more information:
Note 672255 Shortened fiscal year / changing fiscal periods
I hope it helps you and good luck

    Vanessa.

  • Fiscal Year Variants

    Hi All
Please could someone briefly explain how I manage Fiscal Year Variants in a BI system?
I ran trans OB29 to see what has been set-up in the ECC. I ran the option 'Transfer Global Settings' to transfer the Fiscal Year Variants to the BI system, and verified that they are present.
I have installed the DSO 0FI_GL_10 and the necessary data transfer objects. In the PSA the data all has Fiscal Year Variant 'K4', but when I transfer the data to the DSO and activate I get an error: "No Fiscal Year Variant specified". If I look in the DSO table /BI0/AFIGL_O1040 I can see there there is no entry in field FISCVARNT.
I tried manually updating the FISCVARNT field (just to test) and activate the DSO and I see an error updating the SIDs on the Fiscal Year field as it seems to append the Fiscal Year Variant to the Fiscal Year field (e.g. K41994123). Where is it doing that?
    Any help greatly appreciated?
    Thanks
    Al.

    Thanks Simon
Now I have looked - I can see the compounding in the 0FISCPER InfoObject. (Points Awarded.)
When I look into the contents of 0FISCPER InfoObject, the PERIV field is the Fiscal Year Variant and does not include any 'K4' entries (the value being passed from ECC). How do I update this table? My upderstanding is that I cannot set transformations to update it, is that right?
    Thanks
    Al.

    Hi Ajay,
Create a customer exit variable.Write the code in the include 'zxrsru01' using system date.
take the system date from the system date variable and using that you can get the current fiscal year period.use this value and using string commands, you can get period.
subtract 1 from this value.Using this you can get the previous fiscal period..

  • Change in Specify Transfer Date/Last Closed Fiscal Year in Asset Accounting

    Hi,
While uploading the asset master data and values,I have given the Specify Transfer Date/Last Closed Fiscal Year date as 31-12-2008.But as per the fiscal year 4-4-5,2008 closed on 03-01-2009.
what are the consequences,If we change the Specify Transfer Date/Last Closed Fiscal Year date from 31-12-2008 to 03-01-2009 as the 2008 closed on 03-01-2009.
Kindly give me some inputs regarding this change.
    Thanks
    Supriya

    Hi
    Please note
I you change the transfer date to current FY date , system will not allow u to upload data in PY.
    See the below
    Transfer Date
This date determines the status of posting to be used for the
transfer (posting up to this date will be included in the transfer), not
the actual date the data transfer is carried out. This specification
also determines whether you want to perform the transfer during the
fiscal year (with transfer of posted transactions/depreciation in the
current fiscal year) or at the end of the fiscal year (without
    transactions).
If the transfer date is not the last day of the fiscal year (according
to the fiscal year variant in FI), the system interprets this as
transfer during the fiscal year. The system cannot transfer any
historical transactions. It can only transfer cumulative values from the
end of the last fiscal year, and the transactions in the current fiscal
year (the second is only possible for transfer during the fiscal year).
    Example
    transfer date = December 31, 1997
    => last closed fiscal year = 1997
Specify Last Period Posted in Prv.System (Transf.During FY)
You must specify the period up to which depreciation was posted in the previous
system. This period refers to the posted depreciation that is to be
transferred during old assets data takeover.
    Thanks

    Hello,
If you change the Fiscal year period in the live system the following problems may come as per my understanding.
For Costing Module Planning would have already been carried our at the start of the year,
similarly for CS, PP and PS modules if they are implemented in your company the planning data will be effected.
If there is any Budjet posted even you have to consider how to change  the budget and reaccolation

  • Dynamic date in the selection according to fiscal year variant

    Hi
Is it possible to set dynamic date input parameter from the fiscal year variant sap table (OB29 transaction).
For example when I run valuation (F.05) I want the value date input field to be the last day of the previous period.
    Thanks
    Ofer

    Hi,
The dynamic dates on the selection parameters may come from the variant.
You need to create the variants accordingly to your requirements and specify how the date on the selection screen has to be calculated.
You have different options for this purpose.

  • Turkey: year end close RFSUMB00 / fiscal year variant

    Hello guys,
I am wondering if anyone of you have had this requirement before.
Running RFSUMB00 on a Turkish company code will blow away the balances from all G/L accounts so that each individual account has a balance of 0.
    Questions:
    1. How do you manage revenue accounts (cost element categories 11 and 12). A pure cost centre is not enough as CO account assignment. You can switch off error message KI 166 (so that no COPA documents are then created), but is this really wanted?
    2. If each individual account has a balance of 0 at year end, how to create a B/S and P/L for that year? Especially, for previous years? The only thing that comes to my mind is using special periods (13 to 16), but....   -->
    3. ...in our system, the FI fiscal year variant is not K4, but a custom variant. The fiscal year (of the group) does not end on 31st December. I have a small FI-SL application running in the background (with K4 assigned there), and I could change the FI-SL period to 13 during the document transfer easily, but I ask myself why I do not post all of these funny closing documents directly in FI-SL then? This would save me from the usage of dummy assets/customers/vendors and the continous changes made to the "automatic postings only" flag (SKB1-XINTB).
Turkey experts, any hints welcome. What are your best practices?
    Thank you,
    Csaba

    Yes frank,
GL closing should be carried only after all the sub ledgers are closed
    for asset closing
you should open the new fiscal year first (AJRW) and then close the existing fiscal year. (AJAB)
otherwise FI-AA and Fi-GL may not reconcile (use tcode ABST2 to check this)

  • Can a weekly fiscal year variant have different number of posting periods?

    Hi Friends,
Our demand planning team needs a weekly fiscal year variant (X) that will be assigned to all material master data.  X is year dependent and needs to be consistent with our fiscail year variant Y which is assigned to all company codes.
I input "52" as number of posting periods for X, but the problem is: every 6 years, there is an additional week in this fiscal year.
This means, the number of posting period is also year dependent.  Although most of fiscal years have 52 posting periods, some will have 53 posting periods instead.
I cannot create another fiscal year variant Z just for these 53 posting periods, because the material master data is not year dependent, I can only assign either Y or Z.
Have you ever encountered this situation?  If so, could you please share your solution?
    Thanks,
    Jennifer

You can always have 53 period year independent fiscal year variant as explained below.
We have 365 days in normal year, and 366 days in leaf year(comes every 4 years).
In leaf year you will get 8 days in period 9 and 1 day in period 53.
In normal years all periods 7 days and 1 day in period 53
    Month       Day       Period
    1                    7             1
    1                   14            2
    1                   21            3
    2                   25            8
    3                   4              9
    12                 23           51
    12                 30           52
    12                 31           53
You can have the same Fiscal year variant always.
Hope this will workout for you
