XLR Get Other Data Function

Hi all,
Im wondering if I can use cell valeu data in the Where clause of the GetOtherData function.
EG Get Invoice Key where Payment No = whatever is in cell D9.
I keep getting syntax errors.
I'm trying to report accross 2 modules - AR and Banking.
I need to display Invoice data as well as related payment data.
In report composer after making my AR selections, I try to drag and drop data from the Banking module to show payment data related to the Invoices.
The data is not retrieved.
I was wondering if this might be possible using the GetOtherData function in Advanced Report Builder.
Can I show data related to whats in a certain cell in my report?

Hello,
In composer, you cannot use two modules together to get the information in each module.
Get other Data function can get the value in a specific field in tables. Please check online help file, there is detailed example about it.
the syntax in using Get Other Data is exactly same in SQL.

Condition field in XL Reporter Get Other Data function

I want to use the XL Reporter "Get Other Data" function to get data from a file not in the current Business Partner dimension BPA. Using the SalesPerson code SlpCode, I want to get the SalesPerson Name, SlpName. What is the value for the condition field to restrict the retrieval to just the one record that matches the SlpCode in the BPA dimension? I've tried ocrd.SlpCode=oslp.SlpCode. I've tried SlpCode=oslp.SlpCode. But I either get all the names in the Salesperson file or I get some type of syntax error.

When you say I should be able to pass a parameter, do you mean while using the XLR "Get other data" function? I thought that's what I was doing when I filled out the Get other data screen with the userid, password, then I specified the OSLP table, requesting SlpName in the Fields section, and then in Condition, I specified OCRD.SlpCode = OSLP.SlpCode. When the report ran, I got a "#ixGetData error: The multi-part identifier "OCRD.SlpCode" could not be bound". I tried substituting the BPA dimension qualifier, ie: BPA.SlpCode, but got the same error.
If I removed the initial qualifier in the Condition field, ie: SlpCode = OCRD.SlpCode, when I ran the report I got ALL Salespersons names, not just the one that matched the SlpCode field on the current Business Partner line.

The query running ok in SQL and query generator, but i have problem to translate it into the fields in Get Other Data function (field Table, Fields, Condition).
Is there anyone who knows how i should separate the query in those 3 fields.
Any ideas or suggestion will be appreciated.

Hi
The Get Other Data function in XLR is rather limited and for one you can't have multiple tables with joins.
Your query seems way too complicated for the Get Other Data function. What I would do to get past this problem is to create a view in SQL and then query the view with the Get Other Data function.

Our customer has got several data stored in user defined tables. The data rows contain the business
partner code as assignment to a business partner. I know, that UDTs are not exposed in the XL-
Reporter, but there is the option to query other data (Formula builder: get other data). How can I assign
the data stored in the UDT to a row expansion in an XL Reporter report matching the business partner
code?
It is possible to get all data from the UDT, but not to assign it to the business partner code according the one that is in the row expansion of my report.
It should be possible to assign data from the UDT to the expanding row in my report, matching the
business partner code with the code in the UDT.
Does anyone know how to handle this?

Hi!
Further for Vlook up, you get Orther Data form UDT in same sheet. After that u use Vlook up funcition of Excell in order to look for the result from orther data of UDT through row expansion of my report.
Ex:

Questions on getting "other" data off ipad

I have been reading the threads, but before I do a full restore I have a few questions.
I have about 2GB of "other" space on my 8GB ipad 2 (OS 7 withou the latest patch). I need to get rid of it because I can't load the new OS and I have the ipad down to bare bones.
Anyway, I was reading that "other" could be corrupted data or stuff that apps are using. I got rid of my photos. All I have is apps, and music plus the files I store in pages.
1. How can I tell which apps are sucking up space?
2. If I do a restore, will the corrupted data just come back from my MBP onto my ipad? I am backing up to the MBP and also syncing everything in icloud. This is where my brain gets lost because I don't understand where the bad data is being stored.
Any thoughts or hints would be appreciated before I start doing neurosurgery.

Using functions in Resultset while getting database data.

Well I'm trying to reset my resultset and it doesn't work.
Frist I extract data from it. Then I want to start to get other data from hte beginning again. Is this not possible. Can I just get thew data once.
I'm working with an access database and developping at Oracle 10g

No, normally result sets are read-once. If you need to get at data multiple times, you should read it into an an-memory table structure, like a List of Maps (or a List of objects that represent a row on the DB...)
So, for example, make a class:

I have Sale as Key figure in my report, so using sale I will explaing the things that you need.
SUMCT function using Result.
Year -
Region---Sales-SUMCT u201CSalesu201D
1999--N30--

If you use SUMCT function using Result, actuall sale = 60 , in the last column we used SUMCT u201CSalesu201D on result so for each row it will diplay the RESULT of Sales.
In the same way if you use SUMGT on Overall Result, then it works on Overall Result instaed of Result.
Processing a Value as a Time:
I have keyfigure ABC and teh value is -4812 , if I use this TIME(ABC) then it display in HH:MM:SS formate i.e u20131:20:12
Calculation is:
Total value = 4812 for this value our out put is 1:20:12.
1 hour = 3600 seconds
20 Mints = 1200 seconds
12 sec= 12 seconds
Total second = 4812

Data Federator Universe Date Functions

Hi,
I created a Data Federator Universe from target tables (Source Tables from: Sql Server 2005 and Oracle 10g). Now, I want to create a object in the universe: "Days between 2 dates"(coming from 2 different target tables). I don't see any other date functions other than CURDATE(). How to create my object?
Alternatively, Can I create a caliculated column in the existing target table? For Example, I want to create a new column "Days between 2 Dates" from 2 different tables by using a formula in Default mapping of the target table.

Ok. So, Universe on top of Data Federator has limited functionality.
And, other option you mentioned is on report level. I am creating an adhoc universe and I have few objects which will calculate days between 2 dates coming from 2 different tables.
But, how can I achieve this on Data Federator level. I have no function there to find Days Between 2 dates. I see lot of time and date functions but not the one I required. Also, I added a column in the target table and tried to apply the formula there in the default mapping area. But, I see only the selected target table. I need another date column from another table, which is not displayed in the default mapping area.
How can I achieve this?

I just purchased an ipod for my daughter. Since she is only 7 y/o she cannot create an icloud account. Therefore, I had to use my apple ID to create an icloud account on her ipod. I would like to have find my iphone and friend finder on her ipod for tracking purposes. The only problem is that all of my personal calender, notes, reminders etc get transferred automatically to her ipod which I don't want.
I turned off the icloud calender, notes, reminders etc on her device so that my data doesn't get transferred to her device now. My biggest concern is that if she loses her ipod someone could turn the icloud function back on and automatically get my data.
Is there anyway to be able use the tracking features yet protect my icloud from being turned on by a thief?

Password locks, Restrictions password protected or not anyone who gets your iPod can restore it to Factory Settings/New iPod. This will completely disable Find My iPhone so that the iPod can no longer be tracked. It is not a good idea to not use the lock password, because if someone get your iPod they can see all of your contacts, calendar entries email, email passwords, etc.

Hi Surendra,
If your requirement is just to retreive the Order number for a given delivery then you can go with following:
Just go to LIPS table, there you can get the Order Number and ITEM from VGBEL and VGPOS fields for given Delivery Number VBELN.
You can also do the same by using VBFA table.

Is there a date function to get
Let us say today is 23rd of Jun 2009
I want a date function to get previous Thursday 18 Jun 2009
and another function which get 7 days before which is Friday 12 Jun 2009.
FYI: For the current week, I was able to use:
select next_day(case to_char(sysdate,'Day') when 'Thursday' then trunc(sysdate-1) else trunc(sysdate) end, 'Thursday')

I want something similar to that.

No, not separate functions, but you can tweak next_day to get what you want:
select trunc(sysdate) today,
       next_day(trunc(sysdate)-1, 'THURSDAY')-7 last_thursday,
       next_day(trunc(sysdate)-1, 'FRIDAY')-14 prev_2nd_friday
from   dual;
TODAY     LAST_THUR PREV_2ND_
