10.3.9 "UPGRADE" Inevitability

I moved to Apple G5 Mac 2003, never looked back.
I never upgraded neither. Things becoming little sticky. Spec:
Mac OS X – 10.3.9
Processor – 1.6 GHz PowerPC G5
Memory 512 MB DDR SDRAM
I am prepared to purchase new OS (perhaps RAM).
Can anyone from this helpful community direct me on my best/optimal OS upgrade path and/or recommendations, given my specs?
Much thanks.

Humphrey
(1) Are there rules for what RAM I can plug in?
Your PowerMac G5 will support 4 GB of RAM total in 4 slots. The RAM you need is 4 - PC-2700 (1.6 GHz), or 8 - PC-3200 (1.8 GHz+) 2.5v, unbuffered, 8-byte, nonparity 184-pin DDR SDRAM (matched pairs). I suspect you have the 1.6 GHz so you need the PC 2700. (If your processor is 1.8 GHz post back and let me know).
What is best way to go about purchasing extra RAM?
You can out prices and vendors at ramseeker.com
Can I go Apple store, buy RAM, then go home and plug in?
Yes, you can.
Best route for purchasing UK single user Leopard (Apple store. 3rd party)?
Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the UK market, but I think the Apple Store will be your best bet.
I get iLife09 included with Leopard?
Yes, if you buy the boxed set.

  • Web auth supporting fragmented SSL&TLS packets in 7.0.116?

    Dear collegues and Cisco experts.
I hope anyone of you can reply if this is supported on thew current platform (WLC5508 sw rel 7.0.116)
I have not been able to reproduce this myself, but some problems have been reported after mid january, when KB2585542 might be the culprit.
Is the internal webauthentication portal in above platform able to handle this, or is s/w upgrade inevitable?
Does WLC guest portal w high cipeher option handle the Fragmentation  of SSL/TLS application records, as described in the following RFCs:
    TLS 1.0: http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2246.txt paragraph 6.2.1
    SSL 3.0: http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc6101.txt paragraph 5.2.1
    Environment
Windows XP Professional SP3 clients with Internet Explorer 8
Wireless lan controller cluster with redundant(2) webauthentication anchors (all AIR-CT5508-XXX-K9 sw rel 7.0.116)
    Microsoft statement
"After installing MS12-006, you may experience authentication failure or loss of connectivity to some HTTPS servers. This issue occurs because this security update changes the way that records are sent to HTTPS servers. To address an information disclosure vulnerability, SChannel now implements certain ciphers used in SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0 in a more secure fashion. The updated behaviour is fully compliant with the RFCs, but it is something that has generally not been used on the internet before
There are two fixes involved: the SChannel fix makes the new behaviour available, and a fix included in the December Cumulative Update makes Internet Explorer request that more secure option. The behaviour will change only if both are present"

Debug says your client is being requested to anchor but not moving passed that....
So from the looks of things, this has nothing to do with DHCP. Instead, you are either trying to Anchor your clients to a non-existant anchor, or something is royally hosed with mobility.
I'd suggest debug client   and "debug mobility handoff enable"  from this same WLC as well what ever other WLC your client is being sent to....

  • Can you upgrade battery during inevitable replacement of the factory battery

The inevitable death of my notebook battery has occurred. I was getting an hour of battery life with the HP – 484171-001 battery, the 6 cell factory HP battery. I have to buy a new battery. My question is there an upgrade available?  Or am I stuck with an identical replacement battery (6 cell) that will only give the laptop the same battery recharge life of an hour. Is there a heavier larger 8-10-12 cell battery that is compatible with this format or--------- 6 cell is what my notebook is and that is what I must replace it with.

    Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook:
See chapter 3, page 3-8 for the battery options you have, with corresponding part numbers.
There is a 12 cell battery option.

  • My Upgrade to Froyo Experience: The Good and the Bad.

I received a phone call that Verizon was pushing Froyo out, so I was happy, got home from work and started the download, It stated a size of 100 MB and an estimated download time of 15 minutes. The first clue that things may not be quite right was the 45-50 minutes it took to download. I tried to install and within 30 seconds my little droid friend gave up and told me update failed. I tried twice more same results and gave up that night.
Next day during a break I stopped in what I thought was an ideal area my 3g reception was at a max 5 bars and downloaded the update in 16 minutes, Again my little droid friend quit after 30 seconds, again the update failed, reason previous update failed. Yes, I am very disappointed but I have to make a living, so back to work. Later same day I called Verizon Tech support and I am told to do a Factory Reset: Beware when you do this your phone goes back to the state it was in when you opened the new box it came in, you have nothing; EXCEPT THE CONTENTS OF YOUR SD CARD REMAINS INTACT.
I tried to install and again my little droid friend got tired after 30 seconds, now I have lost everything in my phone but I also know it is inevitable because the phone is "cursed". I went to Verizon after work, early evening and put my phone in the hands of a very courteous and helpful Verizon man. He said: Please be patient, I will take care of you. I was really tired after a hard day's work so I found a comfortable chair and dozed off, the A/C was really cold and it felt great. When he returned he handed me a new phone and said, I am sorry for the delay your old phone was defective, I already installed your contacts and then together we reinstalled my paid apps and set up my email accounts.I walked out with my new phone with Froyo and was finally feeling better. Since then I have systematically been testing the phone's functions and have being happily surprised with the improvements both small and large:
GPS locks under 1 minute every time.
Flash works very well in almost 100% of the sites I chose for testing.
Phone is faster during transitions, searches and OS functions.
Average Quadrant Score Before: 890  After 990.
Camera and Recorder have added little features that are nice, try it and you will see,
The extra fonts are nice, but for my poor eyesight original is best.
Battery life remains a question mark, my normal pattern was phone on for 12 hours, light to medium use I return home with 60-70% left. My first full Froyo day was yesterday and I was trying to restore my "looks", apps and testing everything I could think of. With what I consider to be heavy usage I came home after 11 hours with 41% remaining in my battery, it seems to me acceptable.
I will update this post as I discover both good and bad, so far life after Froyo has been all positive.

I like the new notification background and the ability to turn mobile data off and auto rotation if I like
I like how when receiving text messages it notes a count on the icon as to how many new are there
Not sure if this was the way it was before but in contacts if I swipe a contact in the list horizontally it brings up a quick call or email icon.  Kind of cool
New scene modes for dawn, dusk and such is nice in the camera
having a timer icon in the camera menu is pretty cool also
Ability to limit video for MMS option is very nice
Not to mention the fact that I can now take pictures much easier in both portrait and landscape orientation
I can view pics in a stack by thumbnail or by month the pic was taken.
Having the ability to add a numerical PIN screen password is also a nice feature
Did a benchmark test and now getting 51 fps after Froyo.  Best 48.7 fps prior on my device
Still playing and trying to figure out a few things but will touch back.  Hope you all enjoy the upgrade.

  • My iphone is new and i get error 9 during upgrading

I Got a new iPhone 4 16G three days ago and yesterday itune ask for upgrade for the new softwrae and during the upgrading error 9 appear i try to restore but always error 9

If you don't have a backup then the only possible solution is to go back to the store and see if they can get your old phone and create a backup of that. I know very often that Apple employees will wipe the returned iPhones clean before shipping them back to wherever they ship them.
When you say your old phone was "broken" does this mean it is dead and won't turn on?
Do you have a Time Machine backup of your computer, or a clone that might have this info on it?
Other than that I hate to say you may be out of luck. Time Machine and/or a cloning program performed regularily will inevitably save your a** in situations like this.
    Good luck

  • Upgrade from 10.1 to 10.2.0.3

    Hi all,
We're planing to upgrade from 10.1 to 10.2.0.3 in Windows 2003 SP2, but we don't have the installers. We were browsing on the web and only we found 10.2.0.3 for Windows 2008 and Windows Vista.
Can this installer be used to upgrade on Windows 2003 SP2?
    Thanks and best regards,
    Carlos N.

    Hi damorgan,
There are some company that will still maintain current version of 10g which is 10.2.0.3 as the latest version.
My company inevitably on of those company that is still maintaining the 10.2.0.3 patch 31 and yes my company is using windows platform.
From business perspective, it would be wise enough to maintain in 10g for a while since most of the customers are still in 10g and small fraction of the total customers are still using 8i and 9i. 10.2.0.4 introduces some hidden parameters that the developers have been using in the latest release in my company's software.
So I was thinking that upgrading to 11g might be a good thing as we are update to the latest version and features, however, from business perspective we have not gotten any significant returns on previous investments we made in 10g.
    Regards,
    Adhika

  • Mavericks upgrade from Snow Leopard broke boot camp. Help!

Since Apple made the newest version of OS X free, I decided to upgrade my 2010 MacBookPro from Snow Leopard. The installation seemed to go fine, but after the installation, I can't boot into my Bootcamp / Windows partition. From what I have read so far, others have experienced this issue upgrading from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion because the recovery partition apparently messes up something fragile between the MBR (Master Boot Record) and the GPT (GUID Partition Table). I'm not sure if that's what's going wrong here or not.
When I attempt to repair /dev/disk0s4 via the GUI Disk Utility, I get the following details:
    Verify and Repair volume “disk0s4”
    Checking file system** /dev/disk0s4
Invalid BS_jmpBoot in boot block: 6e0020
Volume repair complete.Updating boot support partitions for the volume as required.
Error: Disk Utility can’t repair this disk. Back up as many of your files as possible, reformat the disk, and restore your backed-up files.
    Here's a screen shot:
    http://imgur.com/6XLYMOM
Well, I can't mount the partition to copy off my files, and I just want to be able to go back to using my windows partition normally. So I started Googling and found several different threads, but so far I'm a few hours into trying to get my system back, without a clue as to what the right fix is.
Upgrading the OS on one partition of a HDD shouldn't completely break another partition. Is my case just a freak accident, or is this a serious flaw in the upgrade process? Sifting through 250GB of data (1/2 my laptop drive) is going to take some of these tools a while... I'm not a happy customer today.
Aside from spending upwards of 12 hours reinstalling Windows and the dozens of other applications and data files from backups and recovering all the files that I can, does anyone know of any tools that can recover the lost partition should I find it? I'm going to leave testdisk running over the disk while I sleep to try and find filesystems.

I had Windows 7 64-bit installed, but the version is irrelevant. The problem here is that *something* Apple's installer did damaged my working computer. The fact that it damaged others as well and apparently hasn't been fixed since the release of Mountain Lion is very disappointing. Boot camp is a supported Apple product, and we pay a premium for Apple's computers so we should expect better than for an upgrade to blithely destroy our data and tools leaving us to spend days restoring. That's no upgrade. It's a minefield. I'm happy if some good comes from my sharing and it helps others make better decisions than to trust the installer not to screw up their week. Make sure you back up your whole disk image before installing. The upgrade is only free if your time is worthless.
I'm still looking for an easy fix to this problem. The disk scanning software I'm running now is taking a long time to search through the 500GB HDD for information. I fear that the addition of the recovery partition wiped out my NTFS partition's file system entirely. It's inevitable that I haven't backed up all my stuff and that I have lost some amount of data in addition to my time.

    Can someone help?

Hello, bump for me on this really annoying issue.  Running Windows 7 SP1, fully updated drivers.  Using latest Itunes, 10.7.0.21.  Just like the others, every time I try to open Itunes, the Itunes store seems like it's trying to load.. and then I inevitably get the "Itunes has stopped working.. Windows is checking.. blah blah" and then crash. I have tried every fix I could find on these and other forums:
    1.  Uninstalled/Reinstalled all Apple software as per http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925 along with running CC Cleaner (after uninstall/before reinstall of course).  DIDN'T WORK.
    2.  Did the winsock reset listed here https://discussions.apple.com/message/17412059#17412059.  DIDN'T WORK.
    3.  Corrupt User Profile (Kernalbase.dll) Issue:  Did the renaming of corrupt Itunes folder listed here http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-HK/w7itprogeneral/thread/be53aac5- c560-478a-9598-e0c6a33d9da7 and that worked the FIRST time after renaming the folder to Itunes.old.. i.e. opening Itunes after doing this was successful and thus created a new Itunes folder.  However, after closing itunes and reopening.. I was right back to square one.. Itunes crashing.  (This did "work" partially so probable that issue has something to do with Corrupt Itunes User Profile??)  Ultimately, DIDN'T WORK.
*BTW, I also did a Run Diagnostics from the help menu of Itunes and got 3 green lights for network connectivity.. one of which is of course "Secure link to Itunes store verified".  So Itunes is telling me it seems to be communicating fine with Itunes Store.
There's nothing else that I can see to do short of reinstalling Windows... which I really don't want to do.
HOWEVER, after some trial and error, I found a weird little workaround.  It seems like the crash is happening upon the initial attempt by Itunes to connect to the Itunes store.  Here's what I did:
    1.  After opening Itunes (and the initial opening event is so that Itunes tries to connect to Itunes Store -- this will happen if the last page you were on the last time you closed Itunes was Itunes Store), QUICKLY click on "Music" (or any other "offline" library) on the left upper pane of Itunes.  This will take you to your Music library and Itunes will STOP trying to connect automatically to Itunes store.  So now, Itunes is open at least.  Note:  Others have mentioned correctly that if you open Itunes with your internet connection off, it will at least allow you to open Itunes b/c Itunes doesn't try to open Itunes Store if you're offline.  My workaround accomplishes the same thing while still being connected to the internet.
    2.  Now, if you now click on "Itunes Store" directly, it WILL CRASH as per usual.
    3.  Instead, click on "Purchased"  which is directly under "Itunes Store".  Click ok to the pop-up.  Then, on the bottom right of the screen, click on "Download Previous Purchases".  This will open the previous purchases page which is actually WITHIN the Itunes store.  If you look at the left pane, Itunes Store will now actually be highlighted.  You're now in the Itunes store.. just via the "sidedoor" if you will.  You will also now see all the usual Itunes Store categories along the top of this page like the Home Icon, music, movies, tv, apps, etc. etc.  Click on the Home Icon (music, movies, whatever) and VOILA, it will open Itunes store without crashing!
    4.  Now that you're "in", you can jump around freely during THIS session.  IE, you can freely go back and forth from looking at your left-pane offline music library, movies, apps, whatever.. and click on Itunes Store in the left pane and Itunes will not crash... you know, how Itunes normally works!
    5.  When you're done using Itunes just make sure the last screen you use before you close Itunes is "Music" or some such.  That way, you won't have to do the "quickly hit Music" the next time you use Itunes.  It will automatically just go to the offline Music library and not try to access the Itunes Store.  Then, just repeat step 3 and you'll be "in" again.
I really hope this workaround works for you until Apple updates/patches Itunes for those of us that are having this issue.  If it keeps working for me, I'm gonna live with it until the next Itunes version update hopefully resolves this issue.
OH!  PS.  I'm also having the Apple Software Update issue mentioned here https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4040994?start=60&tstart=0.  I have no idea how to solve this.. wondering if it's related to the Itunes crashing issue.  I'm also getting the error message when trying to update quicktime from the help menu here https://discussions.apple.com/message/19392457#19392457.

  • Can I get Siri for my iPhone4. I've upgraded to ios5

Can I get Siri for my iPhone4? I've upgraded to ios5

  • Upgrade to Mac Mini

    Wonder if anyone could advise:
I am currently using my beloved G4 PPC FW800 (1Ghz Power PC, 1.75 GB DDR SDRAM, 250GB HD, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro).
However I have noticed that most NEW software being made available to OSX requires Intel processor eg Imovie (iLife), zbrush 3 etc.
I am planning on using Photoshop, Blender, Poser & ZBrush as the major tools and may upgrade to the latest iLife.
Therefore, would the Mac mini cope with the work load or do I have no choice but to opt for a Mac Pro? The big issue here is finance. I could probably stretch to a mini but the Pro is out of reach. Then again I don't want to waste my cash on something that won't cope. The iMac doesn't really float my boat as I have just bought a 22" Samsung monitor.
I feel an upgrade will eventually become inevitable as soon all software upgrades will become Intel based.
    Any feedback would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Mark

If you upgrade to Universal (or Intel) versions of your software and get the new Mini with 4 Gig of RAM, it should run circles around your old rig.
I'd also suggest a large external firewire-800 hard drive when finances permit.
If you run legacy (pre-Intel) apps on the new mini, you will incur a significant performance penalty on those apps, because it will invoke the Rosetta emulation layer. Rosetta will also eat up extra RAM, so be sure that you don't skimp there.
If deciding between the faster CPU option or the 4-Gig RAM option, I'd take the 4-Gig RAM. You don't want the Mini to be starved for RAM, because it would then use the Virtual Memory system harder, and this involves the hard drive, which would be the bottle-neck for performance.

  • IOS4 Upgrade: Complete disaster

I am absolutely furious! After over 4 hours of mucking about, I've managed to upgrade to iOS4. However, ALL my app and phone settings have been deleted including ALL my text message history. I'm gutted!
The first attempt to upgrade ended in an error -34. My only option was to restore and, inevitably, everything got wiped! It's the first time I've ever wanted to smash my iPhone to pieces.
Turns out that Apple have spitefully removed one of the nicer features (home screen wallpaper) from 3G devices so it seems there's absolutely no point in upgrading anyway.
I wanted to tell Apple about it but couldn't find any electronic way of communicating with them, so I'm having to post here in the hope someone reads it.

I have to agree with you, this whole 4.0 thing as gone awry and theres no fix. Update to 3.0 last year went flawlessly, this year its taking 2 hours to get it done, my pics weren't there and had to wait another 30 min to optimize all of them. Plus the fact no wallpapers,multi-tasking, or even rotation lock!!! 3G owners had no need to upgrade In my 3 years from switching to mac and 1 year switching to iPhone I think this is the first time i've been disappointed with apple. Plus I'm just out of so i cant go to the apple store........ They better let me upgrade to a new phone that can run this Darn iOS!!!!!

  • CS6 upgrade woes

I'm in the same boat as others here--back and forth, jumping through hoops to get to the point where I could be ignored.  It's been two weeks since I was informed by email that my paperwork was accepted and that I would get my serial number in 5-7 days (or a reason why I was being denied).  It's been two weeks, my trial CS6 has VERY inconveniently expired as of yesterday, and still nothing.
I'd like to note that, like thousands of others I'm sure, we only bought CS5.5 a few weeks before the release of CS6 because Adobe made the generous offer of the free upgrade.  We could have waited for the release and bought that, but we trusted that Adobe was making a fair bargain.  We still expect the company to come through, but it has been a very frustrating experience.
Can anyone give me advice on the next step?
If there is an Adobe employee lurking about, my case number is #0208405682.
I'd appreciate any help to move this along--my daughter is in the middle of a school project using this software, and we'd really like to see Adobe uphold their end of this bargain.

I am also in this very same situation.
I am trying very hard not to lose my cool over this whole issue, but I think I am now at my breaking point.
I, like every other "smart" cs5 owner saw an opportunity and jumped on it thinking and hoping the same things that Cole1881 was thinking.
Unfortunately as of today, almost 3 1/2 weeks later I am still without my upgrade.
In end July I had not heard anything from adobe concerning my upgrade (checking my email everyday twice a day at this point fully knowing the upgrade came out in May). I went to the FORUMS as the support had directed me to and read a post (man I wish I could find it) explaining that Adobe was being overloaded with serial requests and that everyone would have there’s shortly. So I took that as a "be quiet we'll get to you don't worry!” I waited a month. Trying to be patient... still no email.
Then, beginning of Sept, I decided enough is enough, I’ll go through the annoying task of sitting on the phone waiting to explain my missing code story to some overseas agent who won't be able to understand me fully anyway and we'll inevitably send me in the direction of "upper management" so they can handle the request and get me my missing email with the serial code.
I did this and not only was I in compete shock when they told me "you can't get your copy now you are past the redemption time" but I was dumbfounded when they didn’t get that I NEVER RECIEVED AN EMAIL TO TELL ME WHEN I COULD NO LONGER GET MY COPY! Then they proceeded to tell me that this issue was being forwarded to basically someone who could resolve the problem and that I would receive an email AND a phone call in 24-48hrs. I received nothing for 72hrs.
On the fourth day I decided to call again, it is now middle of Sept. and still no resolution or any respectful apology for them not sending me an email of my upgrade. I go through the motions again, this time explaining that I now never got an email or phone call. I am hoping this time the light bulb will click and someone will say, "oops our bad!" and finally send me my serial code. Nope. Just the same BS over and over. The best part, Prince, the customer service rep I was working with the second time around, said that he would "personally" make sure that someone emailed and called me back within 24-48hrs with a resolution to my issue. He even told me that if they don't call I could ask for him personally and speak with him again.
You can guess they never called or emailed. I called again TODAY, this time, was given a 1hr 30min run around (oh and I did ask for Price and the lady said, "we cannot do dat here, dunno who tod you dat but there is no way to do dat". Unbelievable). Also, during this time, while I was on the phone waiting to get connected to the upper management AGAIN I get my very first email from adobe. In broken English. ...saying "we cannot give you your code. We can only give you 25% off for a new cs6". You can imagine my face at that point. When they finally pick up, I tell my whole horrify story again, and he tells me all he can do it offer me 25% off. That is all. I cannot get my code. I have to buy a new cs6.
Way to go Adobe. You really know how to screw over valued customers. You are so luck you have a monopoly in this department because you must know your customer service SUCKS and people would ditch you asap.
Can someone, anyone, point me in a direction where I can get some actual help? I feel that I did absolutely nothing wrong and I’m being penalized for being an adobe user. My ticket number is #209129334.
    Thank you in advance.

  • Upgrading to PHP 5 on Tiger and Apache 1.3

I need a little help with configuring php on my local server. I love XHTML/CSS and a bit of php, WordPress, and Rails - but I'm terrible at this server stuff. I'm petrified of screwing my configuration.
I'm running everything from the default OS X Apache server (I'm on Tiger OS X 10.4.10). I prefer using the internal server to all-in-one apps like MAMP and Locomotive. I have phpMyAdmin v2.10.2, MySQL v5.0.24a, and I think I'm running php 4.4.7 (typing php -v whilst in my document root in terminal returns version 4.4.7).
I now want to use the latest version of php. However, I can't remember if I upgraded php when I was installing MySQL etc. If not, is it possible that I installed the latest version, and I'm just not using at the moment (which could be why terminal is saying it's version 4.4.7)? Is there anyway to check for dormant versions of php or to switch over to running a different version?
If I don't have it, I need to install it. Is there an easy way of doing this via an installer? Is there anything I need to watch-out for whilst I'm attempting this feat?
Also, does Leopard bring many advancements on the server front, i.e. Apache 2, php 5, MySQL etc, which might save me some hassle if I just go through the inevitable OS upgrade sooner rather than later?
    Any help is much appreciated.

Well you could try this in terminal:
    <pre style="font-family: monospaced;">locate php</pre>
It should show you nearly everything associated with php. As far as what the php version command lists this only picks up the CLI version of php not necessarily whats running on the web server. throw a php file in your webroot with the following code in it to see what the server is using:
    <pre style="font-family: monospaced;"><?php phpinfo(); ?></pre>
That will give you the lowdown on what Apache is configured with. this is goign to depend on what mod_php is being used.
Generally i wouldnt upgrade anything that lives in the system as you never know if it might get overwritten or updated when a system update comes down from apple. A better practice is to install the version you want to use to /usr/local/<dirname> so that the installations are isolated and manageable.
If I don't have it, I need to install it. Is there an easy way of doing this via
an installer? Is there anything I need to watch-out for whilst I'm attempting
    this feat?
I generally use the php packages from www.entropy.ch just so i dont have to bother with compiling. My versions of Ruby, Apache 2.0.x and Apache 2.2.x i compiled myself, along with an upgraded version of Python and alot of other libraries.
Then you can jsut make some changes to configuration files to use the versions you want. However if you use the entropy.ch packages of php as i suggested the installer takes care of the configuration changes for you. Jsut make sure you grab the one for the proper version of apache youre going to be using it with.
Additionally you could always get Mac/DarwinPorts - whatever its called now... this is a package manager like apt-get or yum under linux. It fetaches the package for you from a repository, and installs it. I dont use these because they use a different dir structure than standard Darwin - ie. the create the /opt folder and install under this. I dont really like that so i dont use them - but that isnt going to cause you any problems, its jsut a preference thing.
Also, does Leopard bring many advancements on the server front, i.e. Apache 2,
php 5, MySQL etc, which might save me some hassle if I just go through the
inevitable OS upgrade sooner rather than later?
I know it comes with apache 2. I think it may also come with php 5.1.6 (5.2.x is avialable though).. not sure about MySQL at all...

  • Upgrading to EHP1 SP19

    Hello,
as I m shortly before an upgrade from SP15 to EHP1 SP19 I m trying to do my homework and stumbled upon a few questions. (I already checked the blog that everyone quotes )
    1. Can I upgrade straight from SP15 to EHP1 SP19? Or will this cause too much issues, ie. should I upgrade to SP17 first before proceeding to EHP1?
    2. For those who have done the upgrade to EHP1 already... how long did the upgrade take? Including all the repairs and work after the upgrade. To get a rough glimpse at the time schedule...
    3. Can I upgrade the kernel to the 7.01 version (patch 23 I think?) before the upgrade, or is that something that I have to do during the upgrade process.
Thanks in advance for any help!
    cheers,
    Walter Greiner

I'd have to agree with Budhev.
First go to 17, then to EHP1.
    To answer your 2nd question:
    Depends on a few things
Mainly the hardware and the (inevitable) issues you stumble upon.
    It took me a while.
Especially since I upgraded to 18. (by now it's 19)
Technically you can upgrade your system within 2 or 3 days.
But including issue-resolving.....I'd reserve at least a week for it.

  • Adobe CS6 Upgrade Fiasco - HELP!!!!

I am trying very hard not to lose my cool over this whole issue, but I think I am now at my breaking point.
I, like every other "smart" cs5 owner saw an opportunity and jumped on it thinking and hoping that Adobe cares about thier customers and I trusted that fact.
Unfortunately as of today, almost 3 1/2 weeks after started my issue.I am still without my upgrade.

    Kailey,
I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you and am looking into the case number mentioned. I will update you shortly.
    Thanks
    Nikhil
