10g graph xml - color of the of the base of x-axis

Below is my simple 10g reports graph xml.
What I am trying to find out is
- HOW can I fill the base on the x-axis with any color. Example below

In above example depthAngle="30" depthRadius="30" create a 3D space on the base for the bar graph, I am trying to find I can I fill the color on the base which is created by the above settings (for example grey color)

To change the color of the line itself, you can use the attribute Plot>>Plot Color.
To change the color of the points, you can use the attribute Cursor>>Cursor Color.
To select the color, you should have a color box constant inside the Numeric>>Additional Numeric Constants palette.
This is all in LV 7.0. I'm not sure how it similar it is in 5.1.
One important thing is to place the attribute node inside a case structure which will execute only when your condition has been filled.
If this didn't help you, I suggest you post the relevant piece of code, or at least an image of it (no BMPs, please).

10g Graphs - How to customize the default color of a Bar Graph

I've posted this thread in Reports section, have received no reply yet. Maybe no one has ever tried this before!!
I am porting a couple of 6i OGD's to 10g graphics.
Basically I am invoking reports from a form. The reports contains embedded Graph.
Here comes the tricky part.
I have a couple of Graphs in 6i that display each bar of a bar graph in different color.
Example:
Value       Bar Color
Critical     Red
Major       Orange
Minor       Yellow
None       GrayQ) I want to know how to set the color of each bar of a bar graph based on the value it takes. i,e If it's critical the bar should be displayed in red. If it's major, the bar should be displayed in orange.
I added conditional formatting in 10g Graph, and this is the trigger that was created.

If I remove conditional formatting, I am able to invoke the report from the form with the default color in the embedded graph.

Why don't you use the build-in charting capability of reports 10g instead? There is FormsGraph.jar implementation for forms but that might not have the flexibility of what 6i graphs has/had and not "officially" supported - not like the reports 10g charting capability (which is built in and can be customized by editing the related xml files (if necessary). Note: FormsGraph.jar has it's own limitations

How to create own attributes in the graph.xml of 10g Reports

Iam using 10g reports. Iam recreating the graphs in 10g which were created in Graphics builder earlier. While doing that I found lot of features are missing in 10g reports charts wizard. It has only limited number of Graph types when compared to the Graphics builder. Like there is no Curve graph in 10g. The available are Line, Bar and Area. So how can I draw a curve instead of line? 10g Legend looks very ugly. There is lot of space between the values. Is there anyway that I can add my own attributes in the graph.xml and register in the reports?

10g reports charts wizard. It has only limited number of Graph types when compared to the Graphics builderThat may not be exactly true.
10g Graph Wizard supports 11 major graph types, and 47 sub-types
While 6i Graphics Builder supported 5 major graph types and 35 graph sub-types
There are differences between 6i Graphics and 10g Graph Wizard, so certain things you might have been able to do in 6i may not be entirely possible in 10g. However, the main advantages of the 10g Graph option are - it internally uses BI Beans, which is used in ALL Oracle poducts like JDeveloper, Discoverer, Oracle Apps etc. So the customer gets a consistent look-and-feel. And that it is possible to define your Graph in XML format (and through Java API in JDeveloper).

Is there anyway that I can add my own attributes in the graph.xml and register in the reports?This will not be possible, however, you should take a look at the complete list of elements and their attributes that is exposed in Graph.dtd - you can then choose the attributes you want, and add them to your Report's Graph.xml:

How to change the Hyper links color in the XML form

HI SDNs
Do u have any idea how to change the hyperlink color in the xml form. My requirement is as follows.I have created xml form by using xml template and i displayed this xml form by using Km document iview. I need tochange the hyper link color in the xml form content. I dont want to go for manual process by editing the xml form. because i have several hundreds of xml forms.

Hi Ramana,
The most convenient way to change the hyper links is by using the Theme Editor. Go to System Administration --> Portal Display --> Select Theme --> Component-Specific Styles --> Links --> Function/Result Link.

CR 9 - Need HELP Setting Line Graph colors in the Chart Expert

I created a Crystal Report (CR) based off an existing Trend Analysis report. I have created a VB6 application that calls the .RPT file I created for the report in CR. The VB6 app sets the report recordset via code that corresponds to the .TTX file, and the parameters . The report contains a Line graph that plots five pieces of data. The report & graph work good. The Problem: CR determines the color of each line on the graph. However, I need to set the color for each line to correspond to the colors used on our existing reports. The users are accustom to a certain color representing a certain set of data on the existing reports.   I have tried everything I can think of and from all documentation I can find, and nothing changes the line colors.   I have tried all of the following:
1.) From the Chart Expert, Option tab, I click the Format button next to Color and setup conditional color settings per each piece of data.   However, when I run the report these conditional color settings are not reflected on the CR graph.     I am using formula fields (based off database fields in the recordset) to produce the report. However, I only see the database fields to use in the conditional color formatting screen and not the formula fields.    I thought this would possibly be the cause why the colors wonu2019t change on the CR, but I canu2019t find a way to make the formula fields show up in the list.
2.)Also, I tried right clicking the individual lines of the graph and change the selected item color, but this didnu2019t change the color either. I do this in Design mode and Preview mode and neither one changes the color of the lines on the graph.
3.)I have also looked into the CR object model to see if I can change the line colors of the graph via code and it doesn't look like I am given this flexibility.
Do you know what I am doing wrong here?   I just want to be able to set the color of each line on the CR graph to the color I want instead of using the default colors. Are there some Hot Fixes that I need to apply to my copy of CR?

I got the problem fixed w/ the line graph not making the data lines the same color on the report as on the frmPlot graph.   Compare the two screen shots below.   The problem was as follows: When I created the graph (in the Chart Expert) the field u201CReadingDateu201D was not one of the Report Fields, and all the other fields were Report Fields (Reading, LowAlarm, UpperAlarm, LowerLimit, & UpperLimit). See the 3rd screen shot below. ReadingDate does show up as a Report Field now but it wasnu2019t at first.   Originally, this field was only available in the Chart Expert as a recordset field. When I changed this field to be a Report Field, the graph then allowed me to change the data series line colors.   This was not obvious at all.   From the beginning when I setup the graph and passed in the recordset from VB it graphed all of the data series fine.   The colors that the Chart Expert chose for each line just didnu2019t match what was on the frmPlot graph.   Anyway, it is working now.     I can at least say I learned (somethingu2019s to-do and somethingu2019s not to-do) a good bit about Crystal Reports in the process.

It seems to be the SET_SERIE_COLOR() method added to the FormsGraph revised version, but this latest version is momentarily not available for download.
I think there is an existant open thread on this. Maybe you could find it using the Forum Search box.

How can i do different colors for the category in business graphics

Hi everybody,
i have a business graphics and i need different colors for the category. my business graphics is a gantt.
for example
category1
category2
category2
and so on.
Is there a solution for this? How can i do it?

In my opinion, this requirement can not be resolved.
Generally, we use Business Graphic with Category, we just follow:

How to Change the Font Color in the Podcast Archive Subheadings

If you go to pages.sparcc.org/The _Sanctuary, you will notice that the font colors in the subheadings are red. I was able to change them to the green everyone wanted except for the red "Archives". How can I change them?

Unfortunately, the text stylings for both the main blog index page as well as the archive page are controlled by the template. If you want, you can edit the xml template files buried in the iWeb application itself, but there is no way to do this from within iWeb directly.

How to map an large XML document to the XMLType with TopLink in JDev

We need to map an XML document in the Java String to an XMLType column. If the XML document has less than 4000 characters, we have no problems by using the DirectToField mapping. However, once the XML document has more than 4000 characters, using the DirectToField mapping, we got the error: Exception [TOPLINK-4002] (Oracle TopLink - 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.0.0) (Build 060118)): oracle.toplink.exceptions.DatabaseException
Internal Exception: java.sql.BatchUpdateException: ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column
Then we have tried to use the "Type Conversion" mapping, to map it to the database type (Clob or NClob --oracle.toplink.oraclespecific). we got:
Exception [TOPLINK-4002] (Oracle TopLink - 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.0.0) (Build 060118)): oracle.toplink.exceptions.DatabaseException
Internal Exception: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected NUMBER got CLOB

Thanks Matt! It works fine by using DirectToXMLTypeMapping.
However, to get it work is not smooth. In particularly, we use Jdev in our project and Jdev has not included this feature yet. Therefore, I had to use the TopLink Workbench to create the descriptor file and cut&paste to the description file that generated by JDev. And also xdb.jar has to be part of the classpath.
Then I come to an question -- how can we take some features that only provided by the TopLink Workbench into the Jdev environment without having to hack around?

Background color of the image

Dear all,
i am using Developer suite 10g on windows 7.
i create a report, and insert one image which is in gif format.
the background of the image is coming black when i insert it into the report.
while, when i open it with windows previewer, there is no background of the image.
kindly guide me how to remove the black color from the background of the image in report builder.

How to change the color of the table columns........

I am new to the Jdeveloper and also for the adf components.Actually i am working with the project which has already designed.Now i have to change the look n feel.
I want to change the color of the table colums.So could u tell me in which file i have to change and how.
I put in the jdeveloper.css like this ......

And in the adf-faces-config.xml i had only "oracle" type of skin.
I have to finish the work tomarrow itself......

How to change color of the caret (text cursor) in a TLFTextField used for input.

This might be a very simple Question, but I have looked and searched everywhere and don't find how to change the color of the caret in a input TextField.

This was driving me crazy, too--and the previous answers did not seem to work. I eventually found that if I click one of the data symbols in the graph in exactly the right spot (see below), it selects only the data symbols and not the line. I can tell this because the little selection dots will be around each data symbol, but no selection dots will be on the line between the data symbols - like the graphic in Yvan's answer. Then and only then will the color symbol in the tool bar show the color of the data symbol, instead of the color of the line. I believe that you then have to first click on the color swatch in the toolbar and then select your color (or choose Show Colors and select from the color tool). Just clicking a color in the crayon box, for example, did not seem to work unless I first clicked on the color swatch in the toolbar, then clicked Show Colors on that dropdown, and +only then+ clicked the crayon or whatever.
_The right spot to click_ seems to be just above the exact center of the data symbol, at least for the diamond shape symbol that I prefer. Sometimes it takes several tries to hit the right spot. If I miss it, the whole line is selected, which is indicated by the little selection dots on the line, between the data symbols. When I click the right spot, those selection dots go away, leaving only the data symbols selected. Then I can change the color, as described above.
I hope this works for you too.
