hi, i need to hava a tree with icons in apex
is it possible?

hi, First of all You have to create table .
CREATE TABLE "APEX_PAGES"
( "IDENTIFIER" NUMBER(10,0) NOT NULL ENABLE,
"PAGE_NO" NUMBER(10,0) NOT NULL ENABLE,
"PARENT_PAGE_NO" NUMBER(10,0),
"NAME" VARCHAR2(4000) NOT NULL ENABLE,
"NAVIGATION" VARCHAR2(100) NOT NULL ENABLE,
"IMG" BLOB
CONSTRAINT "APEX_PAGES_PK" PRIMARY KEY ("IDENTIFIER") ENABLE
then create form with report on table apex_pages.
Please note : - P20_IMG is an form item name...
use following sql query for tree with image :
select PAGE_NO id,
PARENT_PAGE_NO pid,

null a1,
null a2
from APEX_PAGES
Also u can highlight the current node ................
select PAGE_NO id,

• Af|tree::expanded-icon issue ?

af|tree::expanded-icon
content: url(/skins/mycompany/skin_images/expand.gif);
width:16px;
height:16px;
i recieve error at af|tree::expanded-icon line (on second COLON':').Css file does not accept this identifier there ? i have tried many ways but all in vain.
is there any thing special i need to import for new af|tree styles? I am using JDev 10.1.3.3

Hi
First of all see if your af:dialog has the contentDelivery="lazyUncached" . This way your popup would not be cached.
If this is not the solution , then try:
tree.getDisclosedRowKeys().removeAll();This will remove all disclosed rowKeys.

• Hierarchical tree with iconic nodes

hi i'm using database - 10g, developer suite - 10g; created a hierarchical tree and the icons are displaying along side the nodes when they are being selected or activated.
problem - i've stored the icons in g:\ICONS (all gif icons). but when i run the form it is picking up the icons from the following location - C:\Documents and Settings\development\Oracle Jar Cache\frmall_jinit.jar-63ace618-1160d49b\oracle\forms\icons. I've a button in the same form and the icon showing on it is from the location G:\ICONS(as desired); but in case of tree it's from the location which is not desirable.
any help.

Hello,
You need to change the imagebase parameter to be documentbase instead of codebase.
When imagebase is set to codebase forms looks for Images in the jar files and then in the absolute path, otherwise it check direct path.
For details in deploying the Images please check:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B14099_19/web.1012/b14032/configure009.htm
Clear the Java cache and browser cache after the above changes!

• Tree Component Icons

I'm using the tree component for a little Windows Parody I'm making. In my .fla, There's a tree component that loads an external XML file. I can't figure out how to add custom icons to my component, though.
I know it's possible to set the icons for just the default folder and file icons, but since it's a Windows Parody, there'll be different icons for different file types, folder types, etc.
In other words, I'd like to have a different icon for every item in my Tree component.
How can I do this?
Here are the contents of my XML file:
<node>
<node label="Desktop">
</node>
<node label="Documents">
<node label="Pictures" isBranch="true" />
<node label="Movies" isBranch="true" />
<node label="Games" isBranch="true" />
<node label="Video" isBranch="true" />
</node>
<node label="Computer">
<node label="Local Disk (C:)" isBranch="true" />
<node label="Local Disk (D:)" isBranch="true" />
<node label="DVD-RAM Drive (E:)" isBranch="true" />
<node label="DVD/CD-RW Drive (F:)" isBranch="true" />
</node>
<node label="Readme.txt" isBranch="true" />
</node>
And the code on the first frame of my .fla file. The Tree's name is "fileTree", and the XML file is "doors_explorerXML.xml".
//Tree
var fileDP:XML = new XML();
fileDP.ignoreWhite = true;
fileDP.load("doors_explorerXML.xml");
fileDP.onLoad = function() {
fileTree.dataProvider = this.firstChild;
Also, I don't need to have an XML file loaded. If there's an easy way that does it all within Flash, please tell me. I just need to be able to handle events from the Tree.

Im having the same issue. I dont know how to change the tree icons separately with the xml. Is there anyone who knows how to do it?
This is what I got so far. However, i can only get my first branch to show custom icons. I tried ALOT, but i guess I´m doing something completely wrong.
Here is the code for my tree so far:
my_xml = new XML();
my_xml.ignoreWhite = true;
my_xml.load("tree.xml");
my_xml.onLoad = function(){
myTree.dataProvider = this.firstChild;
var folders = my_xml.firstChild.firstChild;
var docs = folders.childNodes;
for (var i=0; i < docs.length; i++){
currDoc = docs[i];
trace(docs[i]);
var docIcon = currDoc.attributes.pic;
switch(docIcon){
case "pdf":
myTree.setIcon(currDoc, "pdfIcon");
break;
case "word":
myTree.setIcon(currDoc, "wordIcon");
break;
case "excel":
myTree.setIcon(currDoc, "excelIcon");
break;
case "ie":
myTree.setIcon(currDoc, "ieIcon");
break;
}//switch
} //for
};//onLoad
And here is the XML I used:
<node label="» Dokument typer">
<node label="» links - document">
<node label="test.url" url="http://www." pic="ie" info="test text" />
<node label="test.doc" url="test.doc" pic="word" info="test text" />
<node label="test.excel" url="test.xls" pic="excel" info="test text" />
<node label="test.pdf" url="test.pdf" pic="pdf" info="test text." />
</node>
<node label="» Links - document">
<node label="test URL" url="http://www." pic="ie" info="test text." />
<node label="test URL" url="http://www." pic="ie" info="test text." />
</node>
</node>

• Tree Table icons not getting cleared even after applying the CSS

Hi,
I need to change the tree table expanded and collapsed and the lead node icon.
Leaf node icon is getting changed properly but the remaining two are appled improperly.
In the background the old default image is getting redered and on top of that the newly given image is shown.
These are .css statemets used for changing the icons.
af|treeTable::expanded-icon{content:url(/org/calwin/ui/superweb/image/yellowBlueMarker-minus_trans.gif);
background: none ;}
af|treeTable::collapsed-icon{content:url(/org/calwin/ui/superweb/image/yellowBlueMarker_trans_plus.gif);
background: none}
af|treeTable::leaf-icon{content:url(/org/calwin/ui/superweb/image/blueCircleMarker_trans.gif);
background: none}
Can someone suggest a solution for this.
Thanks,
Praveen.

Hi Frank,
I tried including -tr-inhibit:all;
but it didn't work.
Here's my skin registration tag in trinidaad-skins.xml
<skin>

<family>CustomSkin</family>
<extends>fusion.desktop</extends>
<render-kit-id>org.apache.myfaces.trinidad.desktop</render-kit-id>
<style-sheet-name>org/calwin/ui/superweb/skin/css/customFusion.css</style-sheet-name>
</skin>
Can there be any other reason for not being applied properly.
The images mentioned in the css are properly rendered but in the background
default images are still coming.
Please suggest..

• Update tree node icon, better way?

Hi,.
I have my own custom renderer for my JTree....such as
public class MyTreeNodeRenderer extends JLabel implements TreeCellRenderer {
public Component getTreeCellRendererComponent(
JTree treeVal,
Object valueVal,
boolean selectedVal,
boolean expandedVal,
boolean leafVal,
int rowVal,
boolean hasFocusVal) {
MyTreeNode node = (MyTreeNode) valueVal;
// get the latest type for this node
node.type = getType(node);
if (node.type == 1) {
setIcon(TYPE1_ICON);
else {
setIcon(TYPE_BASIC_ICON);
return this;
}...intially the tree nodes have their icons, as they should...later on their "type" is updated...so instead of being 1..its now something else...so the icon should change.....but it doesnt occur fast enough...so i added this to my renderer
public void doRepaint() {
repaint();
myTree.repaint();
}basically anytime i needed to update the icon in the tree i called the doRepaint when i want the new icon to appear in the tree..that helped somewhat..but it is still kinda slow....any ideas how to do this?

valueForPathChanged() serves different purposes as you can see from its description. You need to call treeModel.nodeChanged(node) after your node changed its "type". If you don't want to hold or don't have treeModel reference you could use tree classes from .useful library and be able to call nodeChanged() directly from a node that has been changed.

• Tree Node Icons

This should be an easy one...but it's not working for me.
When I specify an icon gif for a node in my tree, where does Forms 6i load it from?
Thanks in advance!

THANKS for the reply - I have tried your solution and I get the same icon/image for both the branches and leaves of the tree.
More specifically - If one goees into the Help in JDev 11.1.1.2 and goes to the following help page
Page --> Bindings tab > Model --> Bindings --> Insert Item --> tree
(Under "Create Tree Binding dialog " and "Create Tree Table Binding dialog" in the JDev Help)
One sees that the tree branches use a folder and the leaves of the tree us a 'sheet of paper'. The same icons also being used for the Tree Table at the same reference. I also have seen this on other doc. No where does it mention anything about how to set any icons for any level in a tree component.
Thanks again - Casey

• How do you change the Tree Component Icons?

Hi,
I have been trying to get to grips with the tree component. I
want to
customise it so that I can have a different icon for each
different link.
E.g. a QT logo for a video etc. If no valuse is found for the
'icon'
attribute it will just display the default.
Within my XML file I have created a new attribute for each
link called
'icon' and has a value of 'movie.gif' or something similar.
In my flash file, I have created the following code:
theTree.iconFunction = function (node:XMLNode) {
var iconNode:String = item.attributes.icon;
if (iconNode != undefined) {
return iconNode;
However, it does not seem to work. My knowledge of
ActionScript is pretty
poor so I assume I have made a mistake in there somewhere.
Can anyone help
me with this?
Thanks!

Check out the Component Reference... you change the icon for
a single node, as far as I know there's no automated process beyond
that. So assuming your tree component instance is named "theTree"
you might do this to change the icon of the first node:
theTree.dataProvider = yourXML; // make sure you don't try to
change the icon before you load data into the tree
var theNode = theTree.getTreeNodeAt(0); // the first node in
your tree
theTree.setIcon(theNode,'myIcon'); // set the icon
Where "myIcon" is a MovieClip you have in your library that
you have set the "linkage identifier" as "myIcon".
That iconFunction doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me,
because first of all I don't know why it would be attached to
theTree, and second it's referring to "item" which is not defined,
and third its taking the parameter "node" and not doing anything
with it. But perhaps there is some cool way to make a single
function which handles icons for your entire tree automatically,
that would certainly be nice.
However, like I said, as far as I know that function will do
nothing without calling tree.setIcon() in some way. I just made a
function which might do what you want -- it recursively loops
through an entire tree and sets it's icon based on the XML
attribute "icon":
function setAllIcons(branch){
for(var i in branch.childNodes){
var node = branch.getTreeNodeAt(i);
theTree.setIcon(node,node.attributes['icon']);
if(node.hasChildNodes){
setAllIcons(node);
So basically, you run setAllIcons(theTree.dataProvider) after
you have loaded and applied the XML.

• Problem refreshing the Tree Component icons

Hello,
I'm using the Tree, adding the nodes dinamically, following the example: http://www.netbeans.org/kb/55/vwp-databasetree.html
This Tree shows the access permissions from the users, and show a red icon on the itens without permissions and a green icon on the itens with permissions.
In the nodes, I add an action that change this permissions when the user click.
If the permission is Ok on the clicked item, the action remove this permission and vice-versa.
The action is working fine, but the problem is the refresh of the tree after click. The icons stay like before the click. It is refreshed only if I navigate to another page and return after. Then the icons are showed correct.
In the method that add the nodes, I select the node icons like this:
if (havePermissionModulo(grupo, modulo)){
moduloNode.setImageURL(imgPermissaoOk);
}else{
moduloNode.setImageURL(imgPermissaoNegada);
Where imgPermissaoOk and imgPermissaoNegada have the path to the images.
Sorry by my english :)

It is hard to tell
When the user clicks on an icon, is the page submitted to the server and the page redisplaying itself?
Is the tree's clientSide property cleared (that is, false).
Is the browser caching the images? What if you hit a Shift-Reload?

• Tree node icon from XML

Is there a way to define a linkage id to set the icon for the
tree component in external XML? This is what I tried and it does
not work.
<node label="Test" data="SomeID" icon="SomeLinkageID">
The tree node is using the default folder icon. I know I
could set the icon after it is loaded but why cann't I just throw
in something to define the icon in the XML?
Thanks

• Apex 4 Tree node icon inconsistency ( 4.0.2.00.06 = 4.0.2.00.07)

If I assign a value to the tree icon column in Apex 4 ( 4.0.2.00.06) , _it is rendered as the node(ins) element's classname_ ( unless it has the "/" character in it,then it becomes the inline background-image property , for example "/add" )

While in Apex 4( 4.0.2.00.07) , it is always rendered as the background image and I can't make it render as the classname (apex.oracle.com is also on 4.0.2.00.07 and shows the same behaviour as mentioned) .

I have a tree region in apex 4.0(4.0.2.00.06) which has node icons defined conditionally using the SQL query's icon column
As as example, the code below as Tree Definition (example here)
select case when connect_by_isleaf = 1 then 0
when level = 1             then 1
else                           -1
end as status,
level,
"ENAME" as title,
case
when mod(level,2) = 1 THEN 'add'
else 'delete'
END as icon,
"EMPNO" as value,
'Drill Down to '||ENAME as tooltip,
'f?p='||:APP_ID||':1:'||:APP_SESSION as link
from emp_check
start with "MGR" is null
connect by prior "EMPNO" = "MGR"
order siblings by "ENAME"This renders the tree as with *node icons having a class of "add" or "delete"_ in apex 4.0.2.00.06.
<ins style="background-image: url("add");"> </ins>On another instance which is on 4.0.2.00.07, the same tree is rendered with the tree's node having a background-image URL as the "add" or "delete"
<ins class="add"> </ins>The Bug Fix list from the Patch Notes ( 5.2 Bugs Fixed in the 4.0.2.00.07 Patch Set ) mentions in Bug Number:9893260 that +"APP_IMAGES and WORKSPACE_IMAGES used in tree region must be preceded by host URL"+.
Is it possible that as a result of this bug-fix, any value specified for the icon column is being rendered as the background-image ?
Can someone confirm whether this behavior is expected or is this is a case which has been overlooked in the bug-fix or just another bug ?

Hi Vee,
To respond to your question "+Can someone confirm whether this behavior is expected or is this is a case which has been overlooked in the bug-fix or just another bug ?+", the behaviour you see is expected. We now always create a background-image-url style. The fix for bug 9893260, which you referred to in your initial post, was incorporated in our 4.0.1 patch set, as listed under the section "5.1 Bugs Fixed in the 4.0.1.00.03 Patch Set" in the 4.0.2 Patch Set Notes - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/application-express/402-patch-189110.html. Therefore, I'm surprised that you're seeing different behaviour between 4.0.2.00.06 and 4.0.2.00.07. I'm not aware of any tree-related changes made between those two versions, so I'll investigate that further....but as I said, the behaviour you are seeing with 4.0.2.00.07 is expected.

Hilary
