This may well be
Bug 14634954 - SELECT WITH GROUP BY REQUESTS LARGE TEMP MEMORY GETS TT0802 / TT6221
The bug is fixed in 11.2.2.4.1 which is hopefully due before the end of October. Can you run your test on 11.2.1 as well? The problem should not reproduce there as it is specific to 11.2.2

    Yes, currently the Word Web App does not support

  • How can we change the default folder location (avoiding problems with Temporary Internet Files)

    (Environment in question: Windows 7 secure desktop (running as user not admin), Office 2010)
    Hello,
      As has been touched on in various forums (such as here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/797451), when one opens a PDF attachment in Outlook, Acrobat and Reader store the file in the "Temporary Internet Files" folder (f/k/a OLK folder in previous versions of Outlook.  There are two major problems with this:
      First, as Microsoft has documented in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/817878, attachments end up here staying here under certain conditions (go checks your now, you'll find some!), which ends up being a file attachment no man's land, and that can present security risks (e.g. if data we thought was deleted still lives in that folder).
      Secondly, the first time you open an attachment in Acrobat and do a Save As, Acrobat is defaulting to the Temporary Internet Files location.  This folder (as noted in the thread linked above) is ridiculously hard to get to for the average user, so they can end up storing a file and then losing it.
      We've found that if we open Acrobat once, do a save as, and change to the users Documents folder, the change sticks.  But how can we have Acrobat default to Documents instead of that temporary location?
      Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Have you check to see if Acrobat sets a registry entry or file preference for the first Save As?  That's where I would start looking.  Process Monitor is a good tool for this.

  • Problem with temporary table refresh

    Hi,
    I running a process before validation on a page to populate a temporary table when I click a button.
    On the following page I've built a shuttle on the temporary table. Not the most elegant solution, but the shuttle LOV box wouldn't process the oracle text commands in the SQL.
    I'm not getting any error, but I have an unusual problem
    It takes two passes for the data to be replaced. i.e I enter 'ABCD' in the filter and it returns data with 'ABCD'
    If I return to the page and change the filter to 'EFGH' I still get 'ABCD'. I return to the page and click the button again and I get 'EFGH' results
    I've checked the data in the temporay table and that is updating in line with the problem.
    I've looked at the debug and that seems fine (i.e I can see the changed filter value), I've tried moving the truncate to a different process, that didn't help.
    I've run it in SQL developer and it seems to work fine.
    I've included the code below, but I can't see a problem with it.
    Can anybody help?
    begin
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE('TRUNCATE TABLE temp_cat');
    commit;
    if length(:P26_ADD_FILTER) > 0 then
    insert into temp_cat (core_cat_id, core_cat_code, core_cat_desc)

    Hi,
    Apex does not work well with temporary tables as you cannot guarantee which session from the pool will be used to serve each page.
    In your case, it looks like the second page is using temporary data from the wrong session.
    Have you considered using Apex Collections instead?

  • Problem with hierarchy variable while displaying query in Portal

    Hi,
    I came up with an problem with a query in the portal.  The problem is :
    I have one query which is displayed in the portal. The Query has hierarchial selection criteria. I am executing the same query using analyzer. Its taking the variable from the selection and displaying it on the analyzer. I have used the option to " display the query on web " from the BEX query designer. From there its opening and displaying the results with the given selection criteria.
    Where as when i open the query seperately in portal, its not displaying the results.
    I came to know from one of my colleague that the porblem is with the Web item and the hierarchial variable declared in WAD  was different from the variable declared in the BEX Query designer.
    I never Worked with WAD. I tried finding out the variable definition. But i was unable to find out where the Hierarchial variable was defined.
    Please help me out regarding the same.

    The problem is sovled.

  • Problem with JDBC results calling simple stored procedure in VC 7.0

    Hi all,
    I am building a simple VC model which calls a stored procedure on a JDBC database. I have created the system in the portal, defined the alias and user mapping, the connection test is fine and the VC "find data" lists my bespoke stored procedure.
    The stored procedure is :
    CREATE PROCEDURE dbo.dt_getBieUsers
    AS
    select * from dbo.emailuserlink
    GO
    When I test it using query analyser, it returns 3 records each with the two fields I expect - user and email address.
    I drag the model onto the workspace in VC and create an input form ( with just a submit button ). i drag the result port out to create a table. This has no fields in it.
    I build and deploy as flex and the app runs, I click the submit button and SUCCESS! I get 3 records in my table each with 2 fields. The data is all correct. The problem with this is the fields are determined at runtime it seems.
    I go back to the table and add 2 columns "email" and "address".
    i build and deploy and run the app. Again I get 3 records, but this time the contents of all of the rows is not data, but "email" and "address". The data has been replaced by the header texts in all of the rows.
    Can anyone help? Why isn't the data being put in my columns as I would expect?
    I tried to build and deploy the app as Web Dynpro rather than Flex to see if it was a bug in Flex. The application starts but when I click the submit button to run the JDBC stored procedure I get a 500 Internal Server Error

    The JDBC connection I am using has a connection URL of jdbc:sap:sqlserver://localhost;DatabaseName=BIEUSERS
    and a driver class of com.sap.portals.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
    Can anyone solve my wierd problems?
    Cheers
    Richard

    Hi Richard,
    After you drag and drop the data service, right click on it and choose "Test data service". Then click on "Execute" and after you see the result on the right, click on "Add fields" button (inside the same window). Now you'll see that the fields are on the tabel. This is required only for JDBC data services, since this data (how the resultset is built) is not know in DT and it needs to be run firest - then analysed and only then you have to add the fields to the table).

    Natty

  • A familiar problem with a not so simple solution

    Hey all, I'm having a problem with my phone and I was hoping that someone could help me out. Now, this is a problem which I know has been posted on these boards before, but I was unable to find a solution in the threads that I've seen.
    The problem is concerning my podcasts, I'm receiving the "Not transferred because they cannot be played on this iPhone" message, this is happening for a few of my podcasts. The podcasts that are causing the problem are designed for the iPhone and downloaded through iTunes. I've tried several methods to "fix" these podcasts, including not having them in a playlist, and right-click and creating an iPhone version (then sync it as a movie - still won't work).
    I can sync most episodes of the podcasts that are having this problem, it's only a handful that don't work (though the number is steadily climbing). I'm not sure what else I can try. If anyone can help me with this, I'd be very grateful.

    what is the podcast? let me know and i'll try it on my iPhone, any maybe a few other users would be so kind as to try it out for you, too.

  • Problem with removing spaces

    Hi,
    I have a problem with spaces. There are constantly two spaces open named Safari. I cannot remove them. See enclosed image. Any ideas how to do it?

    Further research shows that the spaces are indeed there when I view the page source; however, the spaces are not being rendered.
    I removed the css style sheet that was being applied to the shuttle and it made no difference.

  • Problem with 'Filling Space' described in Tim's Blog

    Dear Experts,
    I am using the Invoice Template described in the excellent Blog by Tim Dexter (Anatomy of a Template) to produce my own version. However, I am having problems with the 'Filling Space' described here: http://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/2007/03/anatomy_of_a_template_ii_heade.html
    My template is almost identical to the example, when I import XML data where there is only one record, the Filling Space does not pad out with enough empty rows so that the Total table is not at the bottom of the page, aligned with the watermark that I have. The code in the 'Filling Space' field is as in the Blog:
    <?if:not(count($invLines) mod $lpp=0) and ($start+$lpp>count($invLines))?><?for-each:$invLines?><?if:position()<$lpp - (count($invLines) mod $lpp)?>
    If the number of records is greater than half a page or more, then the padding is correct. This is even if, say on the third page there is just one record. Therefore, it seems the padding does not work if the number of records are less than half a page in total.
    Is this correct and does anyone have a solution - would be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks,
    Mark

    "If the number of records is greater than half a page or more, then the padding is correct. This is even if, say on the third page there is just one record. Therefore, it seems the padding does not work if the number of records are less than half a page in total."
    This statement is wrong.
    Leave the if conditions logic,
    This is how it works,..
    xml contains 43 rows...
    each page you need 10 rows..
    after every 10th rows [using position mod 10 ,] , you put a page break...
    if the mod returns greater than 0, that means row filler has to come into effect now.
    what is the logic now to have row fillers is , 10 - 3 [position mod 10] , comes to 7... so seven blank rows should be inserted..
    this is how , it works...
    so the statement, saying, less than half of page, or something, wont come into this :).

  • Strange Problem With Extra Spaces

    Hello,
    My development staff is experiencing a very strange problem with our JSP pages which display the values from a JDBC result set. We have two environments here: development and production. We have been creating pages in development which work out fine in our development environment. But when we move the page into production, each value which results from the ResultSet getString() method is having multiple blank spaces appended to the end of the value. So, for example, a 5 digit zip code field is really showing up with a length of 8 or 9 because there are extra spaces added to the end of the value.
    We are able to work around this problem by using the trim() method, but this is getting quite tedious to do to every single page in the site. It is very annoying because the problem does not exist in the development environment.
    So you figure there must be a difference in our development and production environments. But there really isn't. Here is the details for both environments:
    OS: Windows NT 4.0
    Web Server: Apache with Tomcat setup as a plugin
    Database: Sybase ASA 6.0.3
    JDK: 1.3
    Apache and Tomcat were installed from the same download on both servers. Sybase was installed from the same CD on both servers - and the JDBC Driver (SybDriver) was copied from one server to the next.
    Sorry for the long explanation - but does anyone have any idea what could be occurring? Why are the extra spaces being appended to the production pages and not the development pages?
    As always, thanks in advance for any suggestions!
    -- Chris

    Hello Paul,
    Thank you for taking the time to analyze this case.
    The data in the system comes from two different sources. The first source is a nightly feed from a legacy system. The second source is user input via the JSP application. The records that were inserted from the nightly feed have an accurate length() value (meaning there is no untrimmed spaces trailing along.) But the values coming in from the application have extra spaces appended to them. In the development environment, however, both sources provide properly trimmed data.
    If I enter an 8 character last name into the web form in the production app, the value which ends up in the database upon submission will have 2 to 3 extra spaces. I know that this sounds strange - and believe me, it is boggling everyone here. I suspect this problem has to do with the Tomcat installation - even though it was installed identically in each server.
    I think we are just going to have live with using the trim() for every database submission. As always, thank you for the help, and all ideas are always welcome.

    The above error message is likely due
    to JDeveloper looking for the NT command

    I was able to run servlets with JDeveloper

  • Problem with choose material in a query

    hello
    I have a simple query and when i'm trying to choose a material in the selection screen it doesn't choose it.
    I make a search for a material and then double click on it and nothing is happen.
    Any idea why??
    thanks

    Itay,
    It is unclear to me exactly what is the nature of your problem.
    I will assume that what you are saying is that you have constructed a query in which MATNR is one of the items you have placed on the selection screen, and when you select something from the F4 help, and you execute the query, that you get no results from the execution of your query.
    Assuming that you have defined an output, this means that the way you have constructed your query, no records satisfy the selection criteria.
    If the above describes your problem, then the next step is to examine the infoset.  What kind of infoset are you using?  Direct Read, Join, or LDB?

  • Problem with creating a collection from query

    This is driving me nuts. What I am trying to do is create a collection but the sql to create it is produced dynamically. The query I want to end up with in this example is -
    select pr.code,pr.description, max(decode(pe.period_beginning,'01-NOV-08',fe.effort,0)) NOV_08,1 NOV_08_PERIOD_ID, max(decode(pe.period_beginning,'01-DEC-08',fe.effort,0)) DEC_08,21 DEC_08_PERIOD_ID, max(decode(pe.period_beginning,'01-JAN-09',fe.effort,0)) JAN_09,22 JAN_09_PERIOD_ID, max(decode(pe.period_beginning,'01-FEB-09',fe.effort,0)) FEB_09,41 FEB_09_PERIOD_ID, max(decode(pe.period_beginning,'01-MAR-09',fe.effort,0)) MAR_09,81 MAR_09_PERIOD_ID from forecast_projects pr,forecast_periods pe,forecast_effort fe
    where pr.id=fe.project_id(+)
    and pe.id(+)=fe.period_id group by pr.code,pr.description order by pr.code
    but the list of dates within single quotes are derived from some pl/sql which pulls them from a table.
    So my pl/sql looks like this -

    apex_collection.delete_collection(p_collection_name=>'KEANEFORECAST');

    replace(substr(c1.period_beginning,4),'-','_') || '_PERIOD_ID,';
    end loop;
    l_query := substr(l_query,0,length(l_query)-1);
    l_query := l_query_start || l_query || l_query_end;
    dbms_output.put_line(l_query);
    apex_collection.create_collection_from_query(
    p_collection_name=>'KEANEFORECAST',
    p_query=> l_query);
    end;
    end;
    Now what happens is that the query is produced perfectly - the dbms_output.put_line gives me the exact query as quoted at the top of my posting, and if I run it I get the desired results. If I run this whole block of pl/sql it also works absolutely fine and my collection is created - great.
    However if I put this pl/sql into an onLoad Before Header block then when I try to run the page I get the following -
    ORA-20104: create_collection_from_query Error:ORA-20104: create_collection_from_query ParseErr:ORA-00923: FROM keyword not found where expected
    I think it is getting in a mess with the quotes in the query, but I do not know why and I have been racking my brains to think of a workaround. It's odd that it works fine if I run it standalone in the SQL Commands tab but not as a page process.
    I'd be really grateful for any advice/pointers here.
    Thanks in advance.

    You are an absolute star - thank you! What this enabled me to do was to see the query being produced - which was showing it different to that which dbms_output.put_line reported - no idea why this should be. Anyway this allowed me to correct a couple of things which then enabled it all to work.
    The thing that showed as different was the representation of a date field - dbms_output.put_Line was showing this in DD-MON-YYYY format whereas the debug showed it with a timestamp portion.
    Thank you again.
