11g disco workbook issue
Recently we have done 11g disco BI upgrade on Linux, everything went fine,now when i tried to open workbooks(even i tried to open seeded workbooks which comes defaults, i am not able to find any workbooks) please let me know if any body gone through this kind of issues.

OBIEE 11g: Dashboard Javascript Issue
Hi Gurus,
We have upgraded obiee from 10g to 11g and finding issues with javascript in a dashboard.
Functionality: There are some custom labels showing prompt values in it with large font. When user change prompt value and Apply, it should change the value of those text as well.
In 10g its running fine, but in 11g its not happening after we change the value of prompts. I found the following Javascript is responsible for this functionality. Even I saw one thread to suggest the exactly same code, but in 10g.

Here is the issue.
It is not loading the records, where fields are enclosed in '"' (Rec # 2,3,4,7)
It is loading all NULL value record (Rec # 6)
*** If we remove the '"' from input data, it loads all records including all NULL records

KUP-04021: field formatting error for field P_NAME
KUP-04036: second enclosing delimiter not found
KUP-04101: record 2 rejected in file ....
Our questions
Why did "REJECT ROWS WITH ALL NULL FIELDS" not working?
Why did Terminated by "," OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"' not working?

This line covers all fields:
FIELDS TERMINATED BY "," OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"'

So I would change the field list to:

DATE2 CHAR (10),
POL_PRTY CHAR (30),
P_NAME CHAR (30),

Note that I had to interchange the two lines:

Just to get the access parameters to parse correctly.
I added two empty lines, one in the middle and one at the end - both were rejected.

Oracle 11g R2 installation issue on HP UX 11.2
Friends,
I am facing issue in HP UX 11.3 server when installaing 11G R2 database .It is not activating Keyboard as a result i could not edit in the option box /not able to enter db name/enter password and so on in Graphcal mode for installation.
Could you please let me know what could be the issue.

Problem could be with your GUI on HP UNIX. Are you using X Manager or what for having the GUI? You might need to check HP UNIX side instead of oracle side to have GUI work ok for you

OBIEE 11g Map View - Issue with Label Translation
Hi All,
I have a strange translation issue with the Maps in 11g.
Created in English language to plot the Revenue for each of the Postal Codes.
I selected Postal Code and Revenue Amount in the Criteria and created a new Map View. It had the text 'Postal Code' in the Map Legend and then the scale for revenue amount.
Now I logged on with Chinese Language , it still appears as 'Postal Code' in English where in it was actually supposed to show it in Chinese.
We have a translation pack to get all the column names translated. If I try creating a new table view, it shows the translated text instead of 'Postal Code', but some how this doesn't work with Maps.
Has anyone faced similar issues ? Is there a workaround for this ?

I am facing two issues afte creating Union reports.
1.I am unable to sort the columns. (Report is automatically sorted according to alphabatical order)

Hi,
I have an issue where certain LDAP users who were once able to log into OBI 11g now cannot.
This has only happened for those users who I have used the proxy ('Act As') functionality on ie. If UserA can login, and the Administration Act's As UserA, after an OBI restart UserA cannot log in anymore.
I have narrowed this issue down to the presenation catalog. If I swap the current catalog with the SampleAppLite catalog for example, the problem goes away i.e. the LDAP user (UserA in the example above) can log in fine.
I have also noticed while accessing the catalog via catalog manager, the Administrator cannot access the 'System' folder. This is with reference to the original catalog (which causes the issue with UserA above) that was upgrade from 10g to 11g.
Any ideas?
Thanks.This is going to be almost impossible to diagnose without being logged in, in front of your application.
As a starting point I would recommend you check the permissions on each catalog element. Go to Catalog link > Change view to 'Admin View' > Catalog Root and then use the permissions link for that item and everything below. Ticking 'Show Hidden Items' will let you see the System folders.
Also check the privileges (Administration > Manage Privileges) as I seem to remember that the 'Act as Proxy' privilege is denied out of the box. Maybe something here is amiss.
It might be easiest to bite the bullet and create a new web catalog from scratch!

OBIEE 11g Calendar alignment issue
Facts: OBIEE 11g - 11.1.5 on Windows 2003 server.
There's an alignment issue going on with OBIEE calendar, wich happens only when the month is october. For all other months, the calendar is displayed properly. It does not depend on the year. You may change the year and select October, you'll get the error.

I've looked over Metalink and the forums and could not find any information about this error.

Oracle 11g Migration performance issue

There a performance issue with Migration from Oracle 10g(10.2.0.5) to Oracle 11g(11.2.0.2).
Its very simple statement hanging for more than a day and later found that query plan is very very bad. Example of the query is given below:

BW Browser: Open 3.x and 7.0 Query/Workbook - Issue with 7.0 Workbook
Dear All,
We migrated to BI 7.0 in April. New Queries, Workbooks etc. we would like to create with the new functionality of 7.0. Currently the users are using the BW Browser to navigate and select their Queries/Workbooks/WebServices etc for their Business Scenarios. In a long term we will replace the BW Browser by the Portal solution, but this is planned by mid next year. So, we need the BW Browser functening for 3.x and 7.0.
Some more background information:
A typical Workstation has the following Settings:

In BW in transaction RRMX_CUST the flag is set for the option, that automatically the correct Version for BEX Analyzer is started. The user parameter RRMX_VERSION is not set. So not overriding the global customizing setting.
From the SAP Easy Access Menu it's possible to open 3.x Workbooks as well as 7.0 Workbooks without any issue automatically in the correct BEX Analyzer version.
The ISSUE is: that from the BW Browser only the 3.x Workbook is opened correctly. If you open an 7.0 Workbook an VB Runtime Error is coming up (13 - Type incompatibility).
I checked already the OSS and searched in the SDN Forum but haven't been ale to find any answer to this issue.
Does anybody of you have experiences with BW Browser and 3.x + 7.0 Workbooks?

PeggyFound the solution for this issue. See OSS note 1311770. The note itself does not deal with starting 7.0 WBs from BExBrowser but when you implement the suggestion (setting a registry entry on the client PC) BExBrowser is starting the correct Analyzer version for 3.5 WB und 7.0 WB.

Forms 11g Server compilation issues: FRM-18108: Failed to load the following objects
Attempting to upgrade to 11g (Forms 11 Version 11.1.2.1.0 on Linux) from 9i.
Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production
Compiling an FMB on the server (not windows PC) is giving error FRM-18108: Failed to load the following objects. The compiler is unable to find OLB files and PLL files. This seems to be a config issue but I cannot track it down.
We have a /nhbcapps/lib for library and object library (pll, olb) files and we have a /nhbcapps/bin for executables (mmx, fmx, plx)
We have our own envmt file, cdb.env (in same folder as default.env):
FORMS_PATH=/nhbcapps/bin:/nhbcapps/lib:/app/oracle/Middleware/Oracle_FRHome2/forms:/app/oracle/Middleware/asinst_1/FormsComponent/forms

Please could anyone help get this working?Your module NC_REF.fmb (or NC_REF.olb), which is referenced for shared objects, cannot be found. The best way to test it is to place it in the working directory (the start-in directory of the windows shortcut from where you launch Forms Builder). That way you are independent from the FORMS60_PATH, because the working directory is searched first.

Oracle 11g clusterware installation issue.
In our test lab, we are facing the following issue.Kindly help us to resolve this issue.
Environment Details
O/S : Oracle Enterprise Linux
Database: Oracle 11g
Clusterware: Oracle 11g
The nodes are created using vmware.
All the pre installation checks using clufvy utility are successful.
During Installation of clusterware software, we need to run root.sh at the end on all the nodes. We have 2 node cluster. Root.sh runs successfully on node 1, but fails on node 2.

Oracle 11g Case Insensitive Issue

For our .net framework 4.0 Application we need case insenstive search. So I have tried setting NLS_COMP=LINGUISTIC & NLS_SORT=BINARY_CI in environmental variable.. But this is not working. But when I tried firing trigger on each logon and setting NLS_COMP for each session.. It is working.. But because of performance reason we don't want to fire on trigger for each database logon.
Pls Let me know why it is not working setting environmental variable. We are using Oracle 11g client and 10g server and connecting from our .net application through ODP.NET.

RaghuDo you see the same behavior when connecting via SQLPlus after setting the environment variables? Is this an ODP.NET specific issue? If it's not specific to ODP, you'll probably get better insight by posting in one of the generic database forums.
With respect to ODP specific solutions, have you already checked out the OracleGlobalization class?

Hi all,
After Oracle 11g migration, i have been facing issues in OEM scheduling. Twice the job did not run even after 11.2.0.7 upgrade. Hence i would like to explore the possibility of scheduling the same in DBMS jobs (we have not faced even a single failure since migration). However there is no mail alert available for successful completion of the job. In this regard i would like to have your views and help to create alerts to proceed further.

Actually after completion/succeded of my scheduled job i may also get "INITIALIZATION ERROR" status message,so i need to be Re-schedule the particular job again
