12.1.3 Desktop Integration Manager question

Not trying to do anything fancy, like writing an API wrapper or parameters or anything.
I just want to upload data to a table, say FND_LOOKUP_VALUES, and dont need to put any validation of any sort.
So I create a new integrator, in the "Interface" section I put in the table name and it populates with all the columns.
I know what the 'required values' should be so I default them as constants.
The parameter, uploader and importer values are null.
Is that all it takes..?

yes, that's all it takes :) create a layout and you are set!

  • Creating LOVs with "Desktop Integration Manager" in EBS 12.1.x

After some struggling getting the "Desktop Integration Manager" to work (due to some obscure hard-coded security checks) I was able to create an Upload Integrator. The next step is now to add some LOVs on the upload spreadsheet.
I managed to create a Gender Popup LOV using a table (e.g. FND_LOOKUP_VALUES). Here is how to do that:
Desktop Integration Manager => Manage Components
Navigate to your attribute (your interface column) and click Update. Enter the following:
    Val Type      = Table
    Id          = LOOKUP_CODE
    Meaning     = MEANING
    Desc          = DESCRIPTION
    Val. Entity     = FND_LOOKUP_VALUES
    Where clause     = lookup_type = 'IGW_SUBJECT_TYPE' and enabled_flag = 'Y' and meaning <> 'Unknown or not reported' and sysdate between start_date_active and nvl(end_date_active, hr_general.end_of_time)
    Lov Type      = Pop List
Type your custom Header in the ‘Prompt above’ field if required.
So far so good. However, I am not able to create a simple date picker or a Java validation. Somehow you need to create (or choose) a ‘Component’ with the ‘Manage Components’ function. But exactly how do you set the Component & Attribute up to make this work? For the date picker I chose:
    Validation Type = Java
Component Name = Date Picker for From Date
    LOV Type = Blank
I get a Popup Date Picker in my sheet now, however when I select a date is does not return it to the spreadsheet.
Can someone provide some screenshots how to create a date picker and/or a Java validation using seeded or custom Components?
I have read the documentation in the Desktop Integration Framework Developer's Guide Release 12.1 (December 2009) but that didn’t get me much further as there are no examples at all.
    Thx
    Jeroen

Hi, with 'hard coded security check' I meant that some parts of the "Desktop Integration Manager" only work if you have responsibility "Application Developer" attached to your User.
You can change a 'seeded' integrator with:
    update BNE_INTEGRATORS_B
    set
    created_by = <your user id>
    ,last_updated_by = <your user id>
    ,display_flag = 'Y'
    ,source = 'C'
    where integrator_code = <your code>
    ;

  • Manage integrators with "Desktop Integration Manager"

    Hi,
I am trying to get to the Desktop Integration Manager menu as described in the Desktop Integration Framework Developer's Guide Release 12.1 (on page 17 / 2-1):
    To manage integrators:
    1. Navigate to the Integrators page from the Oracle E-Business Suite Navigator by
choosing either Desktop Integration Manager: Manage Integrators or a custom
responsibility and menu path specified by your system administrator.
However "Desktop Integration Manager" is not a responsibility I can find in our 12.1.2 environment.
Does anyone has a clue where to find it?
    thx

  • 'Desktop Integration Manager' responsibility not found in 11.5.10.2

    Hi,
Is there a patch available to install the 'Desktop Integration Manager' resp in rel11i.

Please confirm your receipt of the previous update:
This responsibility is a seeded responsibility and should be available for review to the System Administrator under Security > Responsibility > Define. Are you indicating that there is no such record to be found there?

I found only an information about JDS release 2
but today it's release 3 already and it's said it already integrated in JDS
and above sentence it state that it already come with solaris 10?
where i can find that , where i can use it
    http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/817-7575/6mmsrpduj?a=view
this page said how to install but ...where I can find CD/
    regards please help

Good question. It appears to have been installed with Solaris 11/06, as I have all of the packages listed here:
    http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/817-7575/6mmsrpdus?a=view
However, it does not appear in the Java Web Console. I tried adding it using the wcadmin command, but haven't managed to get it to run as per the docs. The documentation assumes that it is already installed and visible in the Java Web Console...
    According to this documentation:
    http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/817-1985/6mhm8o5l6?a=view#gdjpi
An application for the Java Web Console should have a WEB-INF directory and an app.xml file. The apoc packages come with neither, so something is missing.

  • Desktop Window Manager Service on Windows 7 Starter - Any Reason to Leave It Running?

    Hello everyone,
-As per title, I'd like to know whether is it better to turn off Desktop Window Manager Session Manager (UxSms) service on Windows 7 Starter - or not. I mean changing the service's default startup type from Automatic to Manual (or Disabled).
-In Windows 7 Starter, the Aero theme and desktop composition are not available at all (not even a basic/partial one), so letting Desktop Window Manager (DWM.exe) to continuously run is useless as it does absolutely nothing. Is my deduction correct?
-All opinions and suggestions are welcomed, thank you very much.
    Regards,
    -Musafir_86.

Please read the information posted @
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa969540%28v=vs.85%29.aspx
    Desktop Window Manager
The desktop composition feature, introduced in Windows Vista, fundamentally changed the way applications display pixels on the screen.  When desktop composition is enabled, individual windows no longer draw directly to the screen or primary display
device as they did in previous versions of Windows. Instead, their drawing is redirected to off-screen surfaces in video memory, which are then rendered into a desktop image and presented on the display.
Desktop composition is performed by the Desktop Window Manager (DWM).  Through desktop composition, DWM enables visual effects on the desktop
as well as various features such as glass window frames, 3-D window transition animations, Windows Flip and Windows Flip3D, and high resolution support.
The Desktop Window Manager runs as a Windows service. It can be enabled and disabled through the Administrative Tools Control Panel item, under Services, as Desktop Window Manager Session Manager.
Many of the DWM features can be controlled or accessed by an application through the DWM APIs.  The following documentation describes the features and requirements of the DWM APIs.

  • Data Integrity Manager & Synchronize Objects

    Hi there,
I have 2 questions regading data integrity and synchronization. If any of you can help me out, I would really appreciate it.
    1) Synchronize Objects (R3AS4): Is this only used to sync the customizing objects or can it be used to sync master data objects as well? When I run this transaction, I get the message tat "Synchronization Ware not activated". Do any of you know how to activate this?
    2) Data Integrity Manager: How do I choose betweeen a header level comparison and detail comparison. When I try to run it , nothing seems to happen, and I just get the message "0 objects are equal" and "0 objects are not equal" when I run it. I am just using the DIMA wizard to start the comparison. Do any of you have the "Data Integrity Manager Cookbook"? If so, can you please send ot to me?
    Thanks in advance
    Max

    Hello Max,
Here are the steps that I just did in my system:
    - transaction SDIMA
    - New DIMa Instance wizard
    - name = customer / object = customer
    - RFC destination = <R/3> / filter mode = All filter / flag to start compare on wizard completion
    - no filter settings
    - complete
So the compare start as soon as the wizard is finished.
You can see the status of the job in the right of the screen. (it takes some time for BP). When the status is green, the job is finished.
Maybe you will have the message "0 objects are equal, 0 objects are not equal" but you should also have just above a message like "421 object(s) exist in both systems".
I don't think that the fact that you are not sending BP back to R/3 is a problem to use DIMA.
    Hope this will help you.
    Regards,
    Frédéric

  • Error with Desktop Integration on Macs

My JWS program runs fine on several Macs (running on 1.4.2-XX and 1.5), however, whenever I try to use the desktop integration, I get an error creating the shortcuts. There are no problems on Windows clients.

I would suggest you use the clean uninstall link and downloading 4.5. It has proved very stable with XP I use it.
I would strongly advise against loading the media manager though, It is less that stable software. I take it you know where to download 4.5?

  • Error when trying to install adf-desktop-integration.

    Hi,
I developed an integrated workbook using the ADF Desktop Integration technology (JDeveloper 11.1.1.4.0, Microsoft Office 2007, Windows 7)
One of my users encountered an error when is trying to run the setup for the adf-desktop-integration.
The steps for his error are the following (he is using Windows XP and Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007):
    - Enable .NET Programmability support from Office installation
    - Run the setup file for adf-desktop-integration. The following error appears in a popup:
The following solution cannot be loaded because Microsoft Office support for the .Net Framework 3.5 is not installed: adfdi-excel-addin-runtime.vsto.
    For more information, see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=135965
If someone else encountered this error and found a solution please let me know.
    Thank you,
    Alex.

    Hi,
The problem is that my user already have installed on his computer the .Net Framework 3.5 SP1.
In the section "3.5 Installing ADF Desktop Integration" from the link http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E24382_01/web.1112/e16180/inst_conf_dev_env.htm#CHDHJIIG is specified that when the setup tool is run, the following software are installed:
    1. Windows Installer 3.1
This software I suppose is already installed or the setup tool managed to install it, otherwise I should have an explicit error.
    2. Microsoft .NET Framework
This software .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 is already installed.
    3. Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Microsoft Office
My user already has Visual Studio Tools for the Office system 3.0 Runtime
Now lets take a look on the same link at the section "3.2 Required Oracle ADF Modules and Third-Party Software". Because my users are using only the Runtime edition of ADF desktop integration they don't need JDeveloper or an Application server.
Taken in consideration the section "Installing the Runtime Edition of ADF Desktop Integration" from your link, my users are using the adfdi-excel-runtime-client-installer.zip (this file is provided by me and is taken from my installation of Oracle Middleware-11.1.1.4.0).
    Thank you,
    Darie.

  • ADF Desktop Integration - Can it Support Master Detail Information

I reviewed the OBE and also the user guide. I could not see any specific details as to whether the ADF Desktop integration can support master detail relationship - either master table with detail table or Master form with detail form, to be linked with the excel sheet.
Defining both the master and detail table as "tables" I was able to get the data into the excel sheet for the entire master and the child of the first master. The fetch of the child records for the second or third master records is not happening, obviously because I am missing suitable actions.
    Please let us know if:
    - the Master detail can be supported in a view only mode in the integrated excel sheet - with partial page functionality?
    - The master - detail page can be used to upload a header record (master) and many detail records.
    Appreciate any inputs.
    Thanks
    Ram.

Yes. ADFdi can be configured for "master-detail" type use cases.
You can create cases with a master form and a detail table. Or, you can create cases with multiple tables.
ADFdi does not automatically manage the relationship between the form and table, or between the tables. So, the implementation details depend on your specific use case.
For example, given two tables (one above the other), you might choose to make one column in the "master" table double-clickable. The double-click action set can then invoke the download action of the second, "detail" table.
For a master form - detail table case, you can configure a "next" button to navigate to the next "master" record and download the details into a table.

  • Not Able to Check-in documents using Desktop Integration Suite

    Hi All
I have installed Desktop Integration Suite 11.1.1.16 and have also configured it with the Windows Explorer.
I am able to see the contribution folders after creating the connection with the server, but when i drag and drop any document in those folders, i get a pop-up 'Error while trying to create a content item abc.doc'
I am new to this Desktop Integration Suite, can anyone tell me if i am missing any configuration or something.
    Thanks
    ACM

    Hi Srinath
I have proceeded from that and now i am able to drag the document directly from the windows explorer.
On dragging i get a screen where in when i click on finish, i get the following error:
[APP: Oracle Universal Content Management - Content Server] general exception[[
    intradoc.common.ServiceException: !csServiceDataException,VALIDATE_DOCINFO,validateStandard!$

  • Desktop integration

Using desktop integration via windows explorer I am able to see content items that are still in a workflow and have not yet been released. (i.e. status of review). This also happens when I view the use the browse content under contribution folders in the ucm website. If I use the ucm search to retrieve the content item, nothing is returned unless the content item is in a status of released. The user I am using has only the read privilege on the security group and the content item has been checked in by another user. I would like to have desktop integration and browse content behave the same way as the ucm search (i.e. if content is not yet released it must be not be visible). Is there any particular configuration I have to do?

I managed to find the answer myself. Basically the default behaviour for a virtual folder is to show the latest version and does not take care if the verison is a released version or not. To modify this behaviuor you have to set the configuration variable CollectionReleasedOnly to true. The visibility of content items will be based on the release state rather than the item version. In this case, when a new revision of an existing content item is checked into a folder, the new revision is only visible to the author. The new revision will not become visible to all other users with read access to that content item until it is converted, indexed, and released. This means that until the content item is released, nothing is displayed for non-authoring users. Also, if the release date of the of the new revision is set to a future date, the revised content item will not be visible to other users until that point in time.

  • Remote Desktop Connection Manager alternative

    Hi Guys,
Not too sure if anyone has asked this question before, are there any tools that you guys are using other than RDCMan where it will not store password in plain text? Saw some paid app, but doesn't seems to have much review on this portion.
    thanks in advance.

    Hi Kinshi,
Do you want to encrypt or decrypt the password? If you want to decrypt password then you can able to perform by this way.
Go to Remote Desktop Connection Manager -> Edit -> Properties -> Logon Credentials - Clear the Password. Then click Save
In addition you can refer below thread for encrypt password.
How does Microsoft Remote Desktop Manager encrypt passwords?
Apart from this, there are other 3rd party software but I will suggest that to use in windows system Remote Desktop Connection Manager is the best option as it’s a product of Microsoft itself and it’s free.
