1410 Bridges link fail

Hi,
I have a point to point link of 9.27 km using 1410 bridges and AIR-ANT58G28SDA-N antennas as per the documentation that would be an easy to deploy link and it should work at 54 Mbps, eventhough it drops the link, it's so slow and the power measurments indicate -70 dbm (aprox) right under the antenna which is at 9 m height.
This is not the first time I have troubles with 1410 bridges, the other two times I had to change them for 1310 bridges. I wonder if it has to do with some configuration tunning like, external antena gain, link distance or anything else? By the wat this is ocurring in México don't know if that might be worth of taking into consideration in order to deploy a 1410 link.
Please let me know if you need to know any other information to figure out the scenario.

Take a look a the specs of that antennae. IT's a parabolic dish with a narrow beam

4.75°H, 4.75°V is the beam width.  if you are standing 9m below the antannae, -70 is pretty impressive, since you're getting bleed signal. 
What does the signal look like up by the antennae? What errors are you seeing in the logs on the bridges?  Are there any trees that could be blown into the way?

    I've looked at the documentation available for Aironet 1400 series, and still would like to see a single document showing an example of
    the best encryption/authentication available for bridge links using multiple VLANs.
    As I understand it, 1400 series can support WPA-PSK using AES, which would work for me.  I just can't picture how to integrate chapters 9 and 10 for the 'WEP and WEP Features' + 'Configuring Authentication Types' instructions.
    I'm looking either for an example config, or a step-by-step that did all steps consecutively.

    What doc are you refering to?  If you want to encrypt the link from root bridge to non-root bridge, then WPA/TKIP-PSK is what you should use.  Here is a link to how to setup your link ssid to WPA: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/bridge/1400/12.2_15_JA/configuration/guide/p15auth.html#wp1044935
    Don't worry about the example they show on the WEP, just use the configuration from the above link for your encryption.
    Configuring a VLAN
    Configuring your bridge to support VLANs is a five-step process:
    1. Create subinterfaces on the radio and Ethernet interfaces.
    2. Enable 802.1q encapsulation on the subinterfaces and assign one subinterface as the native VLAN.
    3. Assign a bridge group to each VLAN.
    4. (Optional) Enable WEP on the native VLAN. <-- Use WPA-PSK
    5. Assign the bridge's SSID to the native VLAN.

    Here is an example of vlan 1 (native) will be your management and your wireless link.  vlan 10 & 20 will pass through the link.

  • Bridge cashe fail while in mini bridge mode.

    bridge cashe fails when opeing and I purge it but the message returns each time  while in mini bridge mode.Also it has stopped displaying thumbnails it mini bridge. Any ideas?? The full message is 'Bridge encountered a problem and is unable to read the cashe. Please try purging the central cashe in cashe preferences th correct the situation." This doesnot correct the situation. I recently uninstalled my CS5.1. Might that be an issue. I reinstalled it to no avail. thanks, Uhane

    Bridge CS6 no longer can find the cashe to update at all and will not quit on it's own I have to force quit the app.. Nor does it update changes in mini bridge. It is static. It does not show any new changes to files since this AM. It seems to not be able to find the cashe to update.. I have purged the cashe many times since and the more I do it the worse it becomes and the more I get the message that I have to do so. I really don't want to have to reinstall yet again. Is there a corrupt file path somewhere? Or can it not get to an open port for some reason. This problem is a rather sudden one. thanks, Uhane.

    To summarize so there are not a lot of repeating motifs.
    ••I ran CS5 and had CS6 on my system and had no problem.
    ••I unistalled CS5 using the adobe unistaller.
    ••Bridge began to not be able to find the user cashe after that and crashed upon loading the folders lib.
    ••CS6 worked fine but I could not use the mini bridge nor the bridge proper.
    ••I unistalled CS6 and reinstalled it. Still had the same problem.
    ••Used the script cleaner mentioned earlier in thsi thread on CS6, there being no CS5 listed.
    ••And then, of course, reinstalled CS6 AGAin.
    ••Still the problem persisted.
    ••I went into the user lib and hand deleted everything I could find for CS5. and then I reistalled for the 4 th time CS6, using the adobe unistaller. And still the problem persists.
    ••went the adobe script cleaner log report console to see there were no errors nor fails and there were none reported and showed a clean unistall.
    So that is the history so far.

  • Itunes 10.4 will not load - secure link failed

    I have itunes 10.4 and the store will not load, I can download apps updates from itunes and ping. but the store will not load. When i run the tests I get secure link failed for the itunes store. when i click on help it tells me I am not connected to the internet. which i am. iam surfing the net. downloading updates drom my computer

  • AP mesh info in WCS not show bridge links.

    Hi guys,
    I would like to know if any of you following problem has occurred. I have implemented 3 wireless mesh with 1262 AP WLC 5508 v 7.0.116.0 and WCS 7.0.172.0 base lic, all has been running perfect, the problem arises when I want to see on the map graphically bridge links, I have enabled AP Messh info but it not shows the bridge links, in hierarchical Mesh Parent-Child View only shows the RAP. To load the maps we used Campus> Outdoor area> AP.
    I will appreciate any comments.

    Are you loading 4.0? With WCS 4.x you need to generate a license with the PAK you should have received from Cisco. If you did not receive a PAK, read the following excerpt from the following url:

  • Native iOS app with MAF logon components: Linking fails

    Hi all,
    I try to compile a SDK 3.0 project with MAF logon components.
    I followed this tutorial and finally got a running iOS app with the dependencies for the SDK: Getting started with SMP3 Native OData iOS apps
    Now I would like to add MAF logon component usage. The Sybase guide describes this under Developing with MAF Logon.  I copied the basic initialization steps from there to my project.
    However, although I have all the required headers, the linker fails trying to find the implementation for MAFLogonUIViewManager.h
    I guess I did not add a dependency properly. In which of the files/bundles added should this component be?

      I am having a similar issue. I am following the same instructions. At the point where I create the LogonHandler, the file MAFLogonManagerNG.h is not found by Xcode. This file does not seem to be present in the SDK either. When I comment it out, the MAFLogonUIViewManager is not recognized.
    Have you been able to resolve your issue?

  • Linker fails with exit code 1

    Hello,
    I have ported a CodeWarrior project to XCode and the debug build works successfully using zero-link. However my release build, which does not use zero-link fails with:
    Command /usr/bin/g++-4.0 failed with exit code 1
    I'm using XCode 2.2 with Mac OS X.4.5
    I've done some searching on the formus but I can't seem to find anything about exit code 1. Anyone got any ideas?
    Not sure if its helpfull (I'm new to XCode) but I do also get a warning:
    prebinding disabled because dependent library: /System/Library/Frameworks/SystemConfiguration.framework/Versions/A/SystemConfi guration can't be searched.
    I did find some notes on prebinding: http://developer.apple.com/releasenotes/DeveloperTools/Prebinding.html
    and unless I'm very much on the wrong path it seems that I should be able to continue my build without it so I'm not sure this is related.
    I hope I've supplied enough info. Any help appreciated.

  • Ad link fails

    Hi
    When I click on a link returned by Google that is at the top of the search found list it fails.
    This is a link designated as ''Ad'' and has a slight pink or salmon colored background. If I copy and past the link that failed into the search area of the Navigation tool bar it works.
    The failure message is from Fire Fox and states "Unable to Connect" and "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.name.com."
    Why do access to the Ad links fail?

  • Bridge links

    I had thought, perhaps I was imagining it, that Bridge registerd itself to handle bridge:// URIs so I could load a Bridge URI in Bridge through a simple link, for instance emailed to a colleague and clicked on in their email client.
    The requirement is straightforward - I need to automate routing files through multiple users, each using Bridge to access files on a shared fileserver. The first stage I was going to simplify with a script - an AppleScript hosted in the Dock - which an initiating user would drop a folder on... it would allow them to enter a quick comment, and then generate an email containing the comments and a link to the dropped folder to the intended recipient. The recipient - a tech-challenged user - would receive the email, click the link, which would load Bridge and navigate them to the selected folder.
    This is a stopgap solution while we work on a broader, fully automated workflow leveraging our DAM. At the moment I just need a simple way for a remote user to help the recipient locate and navigate to the selected folder. I can just as easily host this script in Bridge in a JavaScript - that's not an issue - but I guess I must have imagined a bridge:// URI mechanism. Or did I?

    So the scenario I have is vehicule to vehicule bridge links. The objective being any one vehicule can associate to any other one vehicule.
    The first puzzle is about root/non-roots. For example, if you put a root in one vehicule, then it will not associate to other root bridge vehicules, and similarly with non-root ends.
    So I thought I could put a root and a non-root in a vehicule. That way, when two vehicules approach, two bridge links come up between the vehicules.
    However, what I am trying to stop is the root & non-root bridges from the same vehicule associating to each other...
    Any ideas?

  • Handling the triggers if the DB link fails

    I created a DB Link named stream2.us.oracle.com from scott schema of stream1.us.oracle.com database to scott schema of stream2.us.oracle.com database. Now i created the trigger on dept table using the created DB link at scott of stream1.us.oracle.com (The intention of trigger is whenever any insert,delete or update operations are done at the source the changes have to be applied at the destination). It is working fine, but now if at the source i have done some DML then if the DB Link fails, then how can i do that DML at the destination..
    Please give the solution for me, it is very serious and urgent issue to me.

    The problem with using triggers is that it tightly couple s the 2 databases together. If your target database goes down for whatever reason there is no simple way of propagating the change, so you have a choice 1. either force a failure in your source database, by raising an exception, or potentially lose the data.
    It is a far better architecture to use streams which loosely couples the 2 databases together so that when your target database returns it will be updated with the changes that it has missed. This is given to you for free in the database why wouldn't you use it. You cannot use the same architectural principles in a distributed database as you use in a standalone database, becuase it makes it operationally impossible. My advice is therefore to persuade your company to change their outdated policy on only using triggers.

  • Link Fail Alarm - SFP Ports

    I have been trying to configure the Link Fail Alarm on SFP ports for a Cisco CGS2520 (Cisco CGS-2520-16S-8PC).
    SFP: GLC-FE-100FX-RGD (10-2360-02).
    I can create a new Alarm Profile and attach it to the Ports that I want to monitor. The update Profile can then be saved to the startup-config and the configuration can be viewed as being correct.
    If I then pull a fibre cable the Alarm is generated as expected.
    However when I reboot the Switch the Alarm Profile is still within the configuration but it is no longer attached to the ports (i.e. the Alarm Profile configuration is shown on the startup-config however the running-config does not contain the alarm profile on the SFP port). Therefore when the Fibre Cable is removed no alarm is generated.
    I have run through the procedure as defined in Chapter 7 of the Cisco CGS2520 Configuration Guide and as stated above copied the running-config to the startup-config.
    Is anyone able to advise why the port attachment is lost when the switch is restarted – the Alarm Profile is retained.

  • Point to Multipoint Bridge Link

    I am currently working on a wireless solution at a campus that has a main building (Bldg A) and two remote buildings (Bldg B & Bldg C). The two remote buildings each have a 1232 access point that provides wireless access to the Internet via Linksys ADSL routers. At Site A there are 5 x 1232 access points providing wireless access to the LAN.
    At each remote site the client wishes to discontinue the ADSL service and connect the access points to the main network at Bldg A. Bldg B is 80 metres from Bldg A and Bldg C is 30 metres from Bldg A. Bldg B & C are both in a 30deg beamwidth of the antenna at Site A. There is no Ethernet cabling connecting the sites so a bridge link will be required. The client requires a voice grade WLAN.
    I am proposing the following solution
    - BR1310 bridge with integrated antenna at Bldg A (root bridge) or a directional antenna such as a yagi or sector antenna.
    - BR1310 bridge with Omni-directional antenna mounted on the roof of Bldg B (non-root bridge) associating to the root bridge at Bldg A
    - Existing 1232 AP with 2.2dBi dipole antenna at Bldg C (non-root with clients) associating to the root bridge at Bldg A and providing wireless access to clients.
    Can anyone advise if I can connect the Ethernet port of 1232 AP at Bldg B to the Ethernet port of the BR1310 (non-root bridge) to provide wireless access to clients via the 1232 AP. My reason for wanting to use the 1232AP is that I am not confident that the Omni-directional antenna will provide adequate signal penetration through the corrugated roofing steel.
    Originally I wanted to use 1232AP?s with the ?A radios? providing bridge links and the ?G radios? providing wireless client access but from what I have understand the AP1232 can only be used in point to point configurations.

    I was going to have the same concern as you about using the 1232 for both bridging and client serving. Tying a bridge and an AP back to back is a valid configuration from what I have heard. I haven't had the opportunity to try it, though. I know that Cisco says tying 2 bridges back to back to serve as an intermediate bridge hop is a valid configuration, so I don't see why this would be any different.
