2 laptops, 2 libraries, home sharing but can't sync both libraries

My husband's laptop has 'home library'. My laptop has 'on this PC'. Through home sharing we can see all songs from both libraries, but I can't sync my ipod from 'home library' and he can't sync from 'on this PC' which has all the newly purchased songs. There must be a way to get access to all our combined songs. Help!

I was thinking I would need to do a new backup from his library and re-download purchased stuff. (Making sure that I have deleted all previous backups on the external hard-drive to make sure I don't use the wrong one again!!) As you have probably guessed I'm not that PC-savvy so I don't know if I would trust myself to paste it in the correct place. Will set aside a couple of hours tomorrow to redo the backup and re-download the songs.

To move the iTunes library to this new computer I switched on Home Sharing and can see the other libraries on my home network. If I select tracks from a Shared library I can't import them as the strip containing "Show: All Items" and the "Settings" and "Import" buttons, does not display at the bottom of the screen. Goes straight from the list of tracks to the strip with Playlist icons and xxxx items, tttttt total time, yyyy GB.
Any suggestions for making the Import button appear?

I built a new computer which is EXTREMELY fast overclocked i7 ect and.. ITUNES DOESNT WORK
I click on itunes which ive uninstalled and reinstalled and reset the winsock AND seen if there were any errors AAAAAAND ive check the Hkey to make sure bonjur was the only one in there which it is and all that happens is my cpu goes to 25% and i cant do anything except go into the task manager and close it! ANYTHING with itunes (everything else is premium speed).

i <3 Homesharing. I enabled it at home, and where I work I use a mac so I enabled it on that computer as well so I can listen to my own music library while on breaks/lunch =)

On my iMac, I have turned on home sharing and when my brother's Macbook is connected to the same WiFi, it let's me open up his library and play his muic on my iMac. I thought it would work the same way on my laptop.
So I've switched on Home Sharing on my laptop and connected it to WiFi but neither my iMac nor my brother's Macbook appears on the sidebar where it normally appears on my iMac. What do I have to do? Am I using the right feature? (home sharing)

The first thing is to make sure that you are using the same Apple ID on your HP laptop as the same one on the iMac and your brother’s computer. If all is good there, then check out the second article to troubleshoot the issue further.

ATV2 music drops out after 2-3 songs, withou fail. Restarted/rebooted everything and my router shows no signal drops, suspect it is the home sharing but can't get into it to fix it. Am at my wits end.

Recently bought the ATV2, all working well until 2-3 songs played and it drops out and returns to the main menu. I have rebooted/restarted everything, and checked the event log in my router which shows no drop outs in WiFi connection. When I tested it with a movie, it worked, ran for the length of the movie, but when I put on music it did it again. Suspect problem is software, maybe the home sharing and the time until it drops out is close to the same each time. I am at a complete loss, and at my wits end. Please help

Did you happen to allow enough time for a power recycle when switching the router connected to your DSL modem?
Modem/Router Power ReCycling
- Power-off the DSL/Cable modem, Internet Router, & computer(s). (Wait at least 30 minutes. If possible, leave the modem off overnight.)
- Power-on the DSL/Cable modem; Wait at least 30 minutes.
- Power-on the Internet Router; Wait at least 5 minutes.
- Power-on the computer(s)

My Iphone was out of storage so I deleted downloaded music and set up home sharing where I supposedly could access music stored on my computer. It is supposedly set up correctly on my computer and my Iphone 4. Both have latest software. Instructions say to open music and then press more but when I open music app there is no "More" It just says "no content" and a link to Itunes Store. How do I get "More" to show up in my music app?

You need to configure computer iTunes to share. not just your computer.

I subscribed iTunes Match in the hopes that I could combine my two libraries remotely. Essentially I have two awesome collections of music, one at work and one at home. I wanted to be able to access my work tunes from my library at home, and vice versa if possible as well as from my iphone. It can come about without any change done by the user, and it's not just from other networks. The placement of the router can also affect performance. Also make sure router is up to date.
Apart from that would be the reboots.

Yu really want to move/copy your entire iTunes folder (and subfolders), not just the music.

Yes I tried that. I finally turned off all home sharing settings, shut down my desktop and found them in my account settings in the store on the cloud. So at that point I just had it download everything. But I suspect that with the ipad somehow being on, the store was saying I had already received them? Regardless, my trip today whilst running errands, I was rocking out to vintage Police music! Thank you so much for responding.

I got some more info that may help.
I put a cd on my laptop, and was able to share it to my computer... So the problem is only from my computer to my laptop. I tried the firewall thing and it did not help. I read the rest of the trouble shooting page, and nothing else applies. iTunes is an execption and already was. I can not think of anything else being my problem. Do you think I should re-install iTunes or would that be a waste of time? At this point I am about to just call Apple for some help because I am getting to stressed over this.

Since both computers are connected via the network, you could simply copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from one computer to another via the network.
If both computers are running Windows, use the Easy File Transfer Utility built into Windows to move iTunes and all other user media/data.
