30EA1: Running PL/SQL can't be stopped

Hi,
When I run (not debug) a packaged proc, the execution can't be stopped through the red STOP button on the toolbar.
Can this be verified and bugged please?
Thanks,
K.

I am certainly seeing the same behaviour when running via the connection navigator.
Even the alternative of copying out the code and running as an anonymous block in the worksheet isn't wonderful, as the only way to cancel anonymous pl/sql blocks is through the task progress tab.

  • OMA Download process running wild and can't be stopped

    About a week ago, my Bionic phone started staying hot and using battery power like crazy.  I installed an app to track processes, etc, and OMA Download (PID 1046, android.process.media) is sucking 48% of my CPU at all times.  I kill it and it comes back within seconds and keeps using CPU and battery like mad.  Sometimes it comes back as another process, but they all say "android.process.media".  I have uninstalled 99% of my third party apps, I have uninstalled all kinds of updates to apps that I cannot fully uninstall, nothing seems to kill this creature.  Anyone have any solutions?  Am I going to have to save/backup and then do a massive reset and then rebuild?  if so, how do you do the hard reset?  Also, I have tried to start in Safe Mode by using the volume button, but it never works.  is there another way to start in Safe Mode?

        Hi JWDC,
    Oh my! It sounds like you have been quite dilligent in troubleshooting your phone. You are absolutely correct in knowing that placing the phone in Safe Mode or performing a Hard Reset is a great way to help determine the nature of the processes on your phone. As you requested, I have provided links with step by step directions for both Safe Mode; http://bit.ly/mX5mec and performing a Hard Reset; http://bit.ly/nExWmP for your Motorola Droid Bionic.
    Plese keep in mind that some processes can not be completely stopped as they are imperative to the core function of the phone.
    Let us know if you have further questions.

  • SQL Server services having stop

    We're using SQL server 2008 r2 but having lot of issues. My application running on SQL server but it stop everyday. SQL services stop then my application automatic hang then i restart the server then after my application work.

    Hi harigaurav,
    If SQL Server Services stop regularly every day, then you can check the Start Mode for the services in SQL Server Configuration Manager, check the Windows Scheduler or use some monitor tools to monitor SQL Server services status.
    If SQL Server Services always stop unexpectedly, we can configure SQL Server Agent to restart the SQL Server and SQL Server Agent services automatically. To configure automatic service restart:
    Open the SQL Server Management Studio Management folder, right-click the SQL Server Agent entry, and select Properties.
    On the General page, select the Auto Restart SQL Server If It Stops Unexpectedly check box.
    Here, you should also select the Auto Restart SQL Server Agent If It Stops Unexpectedly check box.
    Click OK.

  • How Can I Run a SQL Loader Job from Schedular

    How Can I Run a SQL Loader Job from Schedular , So that It Runs every Day.

    Depends on a couple of factors.
    If you are on a UNIX platform, you can create a shell script and schedule it with cron.
    If you are on a Windows platform, you can create a batch file and schedule it with the Windows scheduler.
    Or, if you are on Oracle 9i or 10g, you could use the external table feature instead of SQL*Loader. Then you could write a stored procedure to process the external table and schedule it using the Oracle scheduler (DBMS_JOB). This would probably be my preference.

  • How can I run a SQL script file...

    How can I run a SQL script file from a location on my computer without providing the whole path?
    Is there some way I can set a "Working folder" in SQL Plus??
    Thanks!
    Tom

    You can create an environment variable called "SQLPATH" which is a list of directories that SQL*Plus will search for your .SQL
    scripts.
    I would like to use another directory than the oracle/bin...
    How can I do this ??
    Hello,
    U can do this by this way:
    Save odm_script.sql file to the default Oracle
    directory i.e. Oracle-Home/bin and Run following command
    through SQL Plus.
    SQL>@Script_Name
    I hope this will resolve ur problem.

    Hello dwb,
    Here is the screen shot, just the top half, there are another 10 pages, but I guess this should enough for you to have an idea of waht is going on, bit small I am afraid. No, I don't have any apps setup to run when I open my computer, the kernel, varies between 290 and 305 per cent ish.
    Would that PRAM thing help ? I think it may be the computer itself, well something inside, as this the first time that the fan has ever started running since I have this computer, even when I have 3 or 4 apps running.
    Thank you again for your advice,

  • How can I get size of fetched data size when run a SQL ?

    Hi,
    When I run a SQL how can I get fetched data size?
    regards,

    We can get it using some calculations:
    1. SQL%ROWCOUNT attribute will fetch you number of rows returned in a SQL statement.
    Problem-->Now you need to get the size of 1 row.
    Solution-->
    Step 1.We can get size of table from dba_segment data dictionary.
    Select block_size from dba_segemnts where segment name like '%YOURTABLE%';
    Step2 . Get count of rows in your table
    Select count(*) from YOUR_TABLE
    Step 3.
    Get size of 1 row--> Divide result in Step1 by result in Step 2.
    Required result--> multiple result in step3 with SQL%ROWCOUNT..
    I hope this is what u want.

  • Can extensions made in JDeveloper also run in SQL Developer?

    Hi Guys,
    Just wanted to ask,
    can extensions made in JDeveloper also run in SQL Developer?
    Also would like to ask, if you would like to sell your extension, does Oracle provide payment gateways, of some sort?
    Thanks for all your replies in advance.
    4 Eyes.

    This is a non-authoritative answer to your first question. I've used the extension developer kit in JDeveloper to create an extension for SQL Developer. I have not written an extension for JDeveloper, but I have looked at the sample programs that came with the kit. As far as I can see, the main difference is a few changes that need to be made in the extension.xml file - these mostly tell the IDE where to hook your extension.
    So I believe that it is theoretically possible to write an extension that works in either tool, but you will have to package the two extensions slightly differently. That said, I have to note that the documentation for either sort of extension is mostly in the form of examples. Until Oracle documents this better, it is probably going to take a good deal of trial and error to get it working.

  • Backup keeps running, can't be stopped

    I have a backup running, and I can't stop, or I don't know how to stop it.
    It keeps showing on EM that one job is running, when I tried to stop it, it keeps telling me
    that it needs to be run first. How can I shut down this backup running process. and I can't see the backup running in my v$session. my db is running normal now, but i am afraid that can cause a problem later on. and by the way, the db server was down middle of the night, when they bring the serer up, that is the problem started.
    Thanks.

    what should i do now?
    I set up the rman backup on EM, here is the script:
    $rman_script="backup incremental level 1 cumulative device type disk filesperset = 1 tag '%TAG' database;
    recover copy of database;
    backup device type disk filesperset = 1 tag '%TAG' archivelog all delete all input;
    allocate channel for maintenance type disk;
    delete noprompt obsolete device type disk;
    release channel;
    $result = backup();
    exit($result);
    how can i find this process running and kill it?
    Thanks.

    I have an iphone 4, iOS 7.1.2
    Mac book pro 13in Mid 2012, with OS X VERSION 10.9.4, Processor speed 2.9 Ghz, Memory 8GB 1600MHz DDR3, Intel core i7, Storage capacity 750 GB, 650 GB available.
    WHEN I CONNECT, THROUGH USB CABLE, MY IPHONE TO THE MAC BOOK PRO, THE ITUNES APP STOP RUNNING AND I CAN NOT SYNCRONIZE THE IPHONE.

    Hello skkmmayer,
    That is probably a lot of stuff you do not want on your iPhone. So this can be handled a few different was. For you current situation, you can delete the apps directly on your iPhone by holding on the app until it starts to jiggle and then tap on the X of all the apps that you do not want. The second thing you can do is before you sync with iTunes, look at the app section on your iPhone to know what gets transfer to it and you can deselect items that you do not want. Lastly, if you download content on your iPad and it is a universal app, you can actually download it directly to your iPhone by looking at your past purchases and download it directly from the App Store. Check out the articles below for more information if need further assistance.

  • Forcing program to close, I am deleting a lot of files from my trash but it stopped working about 1/2 way through (1650 files left) so I tried to reboot but it won't let me because a the program is still running which I can't close.

    Forcing program to close, I am deleting a lot of files from my trash but it stopped working about 1/2 way through (1650 files left) so I tried to reboot but it won't let me because a the program is still running which I can't close (stuck at 1650 files to go). So it allowed me to click cancel now it says "stopping" for 3hrs now. Is there anyway to force the MacBook Air (new model) to close as you can't remove the battery?

    Press and hold the power button until the Mac turns itself off. This force-shutdown should be done only after you've exhausted other options (you seem to have done so).
    Wait at least 60 seconds.
    Then press the power button to start up the Mac. It will take a little longer to start up because it will perform additional self-tests on the first boot after a forced shutdown.
    Once the bootup is complete, you should be able to delete the trash. Hold down the option key while choosing to empty the trash, which will automatically delete "locked" items.

  • Is there any report where I can run an SQL to SAP DB?

    Hi,
    I need to run an SQL on my R/3 DB directly. Is there a way how to do this w/o writing a new report?
    Thank you,

    If u want to measure the time taken by ur SQL query then u run it directly from SE30. Goto SE30 and click on Tips & Tricks button..then in the next screen u will get 2 editiors..in any one of this editor write ur SOL statement and press Measure Runtime button....I till then execute the query and give u the execution time.

  • Newbie to sql developer, how to stop a query

    Hi All,
    A very basic question and I've searched through this forum and Tom's site, i think i read it somewhere but i forgot where and what it was.
    How can I stop a query running in Sql Developer with what key combination?
    Ctrl-C D E Q .........., help!
    When I 'leave' for another application there a nice grey screen appearing so i can't use the buttons.
    Thanks in advance and my appologies if there is an answer already and I didn't find it.

    A query in the worksheet can be stopped using the Cancel button in the worksheet's toolbar (the 5th button). Hovering over it, you see the default hotkey assigned is "Ctrl-Q".
    If you get a gray screen means your SQL Developer locked up. There's currently no way of canceling what is locking him up. You could kill its session, but that's pretty radical and takes its share of time fining out what to kill and how.
    What another user on this forum (EricH) suggested, is running 2 SQL Developers side by side. When 1 locks up, he uses the other one. Although I'd like SQL Developer in the future to run it's queries in separate sessions by itself, thus preventing the whole program to lock up.

  • Sql Apply on standby stops on error

    hi all,
    I have run into problem I can't figure out.
    There are test and production databases, for both there are logical standby databases.
    For example, when materialized view is created on primary database, I see error "ORA-16226: DDL skipped due to lack of support", which is ok.
    When I try to create index on test database, I got message "ORA-16227: DDL skipped due to missing object", so far OK.
    However, when I try to create index on this materialized view, on production database SQL Apply stops at this point, because materialized view does not exist on standby.
    Any clues why SQL apply doesn't stop on one standby but on the another standby database it stops after the same statement?
    Are there any parameters or smth for this?
    Thanks

    yes, they are both same version and compatible parameter is the same - 11.1.0, they should be created same way on both.
    only difference - prod is on solaris, test is on linux.
    Problem in this case is not with mviews, but in fact, that if we have some table which is skipped and some index or other object is added on primary, SQL apply stops on standby.
    Anyway, what should be the default action if SQL apply encounters an error - is it stopping apply ?

  • Plsql best way to store and run generated sql

    Oracle 11g
    I found a script on a web site that generates a bunch of sql to do basic data profiling on a set of tables (I've include 1 step in the script below that profile date columns ..see below). I'm currently having trouble with buffer overflows when I process a more than 5-10 tables. I'm looking for a better way to temporarily store the result set and execute the resulting sql. I don't have access to the server so using utl_file is not an option. Can I some how append the sql to a temporary clob varable? Any suggestions would be very helpful.

    The buffer overflow id beacause of dbms_output. the max limit of the string is 255.
    It will not stop you from inserting or executing the sql dynamically.
    you can run dynamic sql by
    execute immediate 'your sql statement';if you want dbms_output to display allof it you have to use a loop. Look at the followinmg example
    DECLARE
       loopcntr       NUMBER := 1;
       vextend        NUMBER := 255;
       l_sql          VARCHAR2 (32767) := RPAD ( 'ORACLE', 1000, 'AB');
    BEGIN
       WHILE loopcntr < LENGTH (l_sql)
       LOOP
          DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE (SUBSTR ( l_sql, loopcntr, vextend));
          loopcntr    := loopcntr + vextend;
          vextend     := LEAST ( 255, LENGTH (l_sql) - vextend);
       END LOOP;
    END;G.
