30EA3 - Edit Table/Create Table(Advanced) - Table Name, Text Box Size

I am not sure if its the same on non-Linux versions, but in the edit table dialog, the table name text box size is tiny. Its only wide enough that you can see approx 7 chars.
Is it possible to increase this? The size of the text box in the simple create table dialog seems like a good size. As far as I can tell, it is not tiny to conserve space for other items.
Anyway, it's just a minor issue that wont prevent me from doing work - just think it'd be better a bit bigger. I am sure it didn't used to be this small.

Images in PDF file being converted into Word elements (e.g. tables and text boxes)

A friend of mine has recently signed up to ExportPDF so that he can convert PDF format wiring diagrams into Word format. On trying this the other day, we found that the wiring diagrams in the PDF file were being converted into elements of Word such as tables and text boxes.
Is there any way to get the diagrams converted into pictures within the Word document so that they can be copied and pasted into other documents? From looking at the limited settings panel to the right of the document in Reader I can't see it.

Perhaps an application dedicated to converting PDF's to Word documents may get better results.

I figured this out by using a lightbox. I set the trigger at the top of the box, hid all initially and added a close button. In the box that would have linked to the first thumbnail for the lightbox, I added a text box that said "read more"

I can't type on a document unless in a table or text box, what happened?

In Pages, when I try to type something, it "bings" at me. I can't see any typed font unless I type in a table or in a text box.

You opened a Layout template instead of a Word Processor template.
Layout templates have no default type area (between the document margins) and as you have found they require that you create an object to type into.
Choose from the Word Processor category in the Template Chooser sidebar instead.

Creating a frame around a text box?

I'm new to Illustrator (I'm running CS4 on a Mac) and I'm creating what is essentially an organization chart. (It's actually something more of a decision tree, but that's not important.)
I've searched some other forums and I discovered the Area Type Options. I'm using that to create 6 pixels of inset spacing between my text and the outside of the text box. Now, I'd like to have a 1 or 2 point frame drawn automatically around the text box. One place told me to go to Object > Text Frame. However, when I highlight the text box and go to Object there is not Text Frame option (either available or grayed out).
It doesn't seem that I should have to manually go through the work of drawing a rectangle around every text frame.
Can someone point me in the right direction to have Illustrator make the blue (electronic) frame into a real visible one?

However, I'm surprised how arcane this simple technique seems to be. I wanted to draw a straightforward org chart and Illustrator didn't appear to make it straightforward at all.
It's probably me. From what I can see, a new Illustrator user trying to use it for something this simple is like using dynamite to kill a fly.
I just need to play with it more as I'm working through exercises.

When I go back to edit the form why are my individual text boxes merging into one large text box?

I am currently trying to create a form fillable pdf and have never had problems until yesterday.
My individual text boxes are somehow conjoining into one large text box after I save my edits and go back to the form to make additional edits. This has never happened before and it is messing up the entire format of the form. Any guidance would be grealy appreciated.

Did you find a solution to your problem? I am experiencing the same thing. Only, the boxes will change. One time when I go in a single word on a line will be in the same box as a word above it. I created these text boxes in the pdf and did not import from another file. The next time I go into the file, the word will be back in its original box and other words will be combined in boxes. The last time I went in two entire lines that were two separate boxes are not one box. The boxes seem to merge completely randomly though the text they are enclosing are next to each other either side by side, or more frequently, above/below. This is quite a nuisance as I am still creating my form and when I want to move words or lines, I have to copy the text box and then delete the words I do not want in each box just so I can manipulate the content into the positions I want them.

I have a requirement in that i have to create a template like the one in Application express for creating the region and items.
The main requirement is to reduce the amount of time spend in creating the items on htmldb page..
So we are planning of creating a template where the developer at one shot will be able to define all the items used in the the page..So this reduce the amount of time taken in creating and defining each and every item .
Developer use this template which conisist of some 100 text box which act as label for the item which we want to create on the page and there will be check box which show all the item available in htmldb like textbox, check box, select list etc. So developer will check the item he/she want to create and and set properties of it .So this is the single process for creating all the template on the page.
Ones the template is submitted it will create the items on the page ...in a single click..

I wanted to do similar thing as well. I wanted to add a text field when user clicks a link or button. I was thinking about java script, but not sure how to add the text field items from outside the wizrdy things in APEX!! Possibly using the htmldb_item api, but have not worked out how yet.

How can I save a PDF I have created after typing in the text box

I recently created a PDF document and put in several text boxes.
I am able to type in these locations now, but I am for some reason unable to save the document after I have typed in the text box.
How can I change the form so that I will be able to save the document after I have made changes?

IPages creates its own limited space text box

Upon opening a new document using the blank template, once we begin typing, the program seems to throw its own text box around the text. This "box" only utilizes approx half the page, and we can't continue to type. If we click outside the box, it disappears, but once we try to resume typing it reappears. There seems to be no way to resize/reformat it, or make it go away. What are we doing wrong?

You're typing in the header. There is no text layer in Layout mode as there is in Word Processing mode. You have to create a text box. Choose Show Layout from the View menu and you can see the header and footer. See my replies in "Can't Change Document Margins in Template" for a bit more information on the Layout mode.

This is what I am starting with

This is on my button click. The table gets filled from the Text field.
However i need to move the Row in the table to the next row.

I think this is what you are looking for.
This script is attached to the click event on the 'Add Result' button of the attached PDF. It takes the values from the columns in the last row of the table, creates a new row, populates the columns in the new row with the column values from the former last row, and resets the second last row.

Editing URL at the end of a text box crashes InDesign

I’ve discovered that when I have a textbox which ends with a url (which I do often since a web visit is my usual call-to-action) ID crashes. It’s as if while editing it's mistaken for a link and tries to open the web page in ID, and discovers it can't.
My work-around has been to add a blank line below it—CAREFULLY select the end of the .com and hit return. I'd rather fix the problem permanently. Any suggestions?

Is it possible to create a "click to expand" text box, instead of linking to another internal page?

I am working on a personal website, but I want to segment my bio into sections. Ideally I would refer users to "click to expand" under each segment, but I am finding that I can only link to additional internal pages. Any suggestions?

As Lilybiri said, you could insert a Smart Shape and configure it as a button. Then have a second Smart Shape or a Caption with the hint text. Assign the action of showing the hint when the Smart Shape is clicked.
Note that this would be an either/or situation. You could not perhaps show the Caption for a determined time and have it disappear.
