3750x stack issue adding additional unit

I have a 3750X stack with 2 48 port members that have been up and running for over a year without issue.
I'm trying to add a new 24 port 3750X. I've made sure the priority is correct, and I've added a provision for the new member in the stack.
they are all running the exact same version of IOS.
I think the problem is, the version of the stack. the existing stack states it is version 1.45, while the new member states it is version 6.45
According to what I've read, the way to upgrade the stack version is to upgrade the IOS, but the IOS is already at the version of the new member.
I've not tried to reboot the existing stack because it's in high usage production.
here's the data I think is relevant. if anyone has a clue or needs more info, let me know.

Adding additional j2ee node

we are running BI 7 - abap+java stacks with 16 GB ram (recently added)
i would like to know what is the thumb rule for adding additional j2ee node?
when is it neccassary to add additional j2ee node?

Hi,
The JLaunch starts a Java program. It loads the JVM into its own address space and then represents the required cluster element. The program can receive notification from the JControl process via named pipes to stop the cluster element, and terminates, if the JControl stops running (fork emulation under Windows).
So Jlaunch consuming high CPU time means that server, dispatcher or bootstrap process consume it. If there are not enough system or application threads avaliable means that the engine must buffering requests for web application or system processes. Things to check in this case are:
SAP NOTE 1016241 - J2EE Engine hangs because of unsufficient system threads
SAP note: 716604 and upgrade JDK.
SAP note: 723909 -> set correct VM parameters
and if issue persists, then you will need to analyse the application causing teh leak...
SAP note: 1259465: Memory analyser.

Here we have MTO Scenario: In outbound delivery when we do batch split & batch determination we are getting the above error.
Consider the following settings: at MM01 - Prodution/Proportion unit data is maintained with a characterstic specific to batch. Means Batch specific unit of measurement. In Work scheduling view produciton unit, unit of issue are maintained as 'NO'. All these settings are same for all material codes.
Please suggest us why we are getting the issue for perticular material coce.
Info: We resolve the issue by adding one more line item in the sales order & do the transfer posting the stock from line item to line item. But this is not the permanent solution.

I believe the error message no is VL 382 (Proportion/product unit of measure & invalid for item &)
You need to double click on the error message flashing on the status bar to get the error number.
I believe long text for the error message is self explainatary. Refer it and make necessary changes to resolve the issue.
Diagnosis
You want to use a proportion / product unit for an item.
You are not allowed to change the unit of measure into a proportion / product unit if:
- The following exist for a sales document item:
Preceding documents
Subsequent documents
- You are processing a scheduling agreement for the component supply industry
- You change the target unit of measure in a scheduling agreement item (and the sales unit is not a proportion / product unit)
- You are processing a customer requirements plan
- The following exist for a delivery item:
Preceding documents
Subsequent documents
Batch split items
- You are processing a batch split item
Procedure
Use a different unit of measure.
If you want to change the target unit of measure into a proportion / product unit in a scheduling agreement item, you need to change the sales unit accordingly. The system then sets the target unit of measure to the same as the sales unit.
Further, if you are working on older version, refer SAP Note 364206 - VLSP:indic.for proportion/product quantities deletd.

Improve Portal performance with BI-Java by adding additional server node.

I wonder anyone might have attempted this before,
In an environment with BI-Java and Portal Java stack installed on the same server, is it possible to improve the system performance by adding additional portal server node? or is there any improvement seen by adding the extra server node?
I am after suggestion and experience on how the portal performance can be improve, with consideration of BI-Java sharing Portal resources.
Any comment will be most appreciated.

Hi Jim,
We've this configuration at our site, Portal and BI running together (not federated). Recommendations would be to:
1. Set a sensibly large max heap size on each server node of Portal (at least 2GB if not larger) and implement several nodes at least. For example we have 4 x physical nodes, each running 3 server nodes of 2GB max heap size apiece so a total of 12 nodes.
2. Implement the BI Safety Belt for large results sets (1127156)
3. Implement the latest JVM / JDK you can on your environment. We found much improved performance after implementing JDK SR10 with the J9/2.3 options enabled e.g., -Xjvm:j9vm23
-Xsoftrefthreshold0
4. Patch your BI components on the Portal (BIBASES, BIWEBAPP etc) to the latest available patch level for your Portal SP level
5. Make sure all your RFC connections are load balanced to the backend and tuned for the kind of load you expect on your reports, and the BI is sized appropriately in terms of app servers and dialog work processes, RFC-enabled login groups in SMLG etc.
6. Consult notes 1048691 (especially useful, opions &PROFILING=X&TRACE=X added to reports for example for performance tracing), 937697, 1021921, 948158 for information about problem analysis for this scenario
7. Implement SAP Web Dispatcher for Portal to reduce load on static mime files
8. Tune the Portal application. There's plenty information on SDN related to Portal performance tuning.

Upgrading 3750X Stack IOS (suggestions)

I'm reading all sorts of problematic issues with upgrading the 3750X stack IOS on the internet. I have never performed this before and would like anyone'e suggestion on how I should do this and what I should be looking for. I will be upgrading from 12.2(53r)SE2 to 12.2.(55)SE8.

Let's say you have three 3750X in a stack. OK?
So before you even begin to push the IOS to your switch, you need to download the correct IOS for each member of your stack. Make sure each member of your switch is found in the Supported Hardware list.
Download the "universal" TAR file. Next, once you've downloaded the IOS, make sure you verify the MD5 hash value against the value found in the Cisco website. The MD5 hash value must match.
Make sure that all members of your switch stack have the same licenses and feature set.
Ok, now you've got the preparatory set, you do the actual command to push the IOS into your stack. The command is very simple. Remember, I presume that you have three switches in a stack.
The command is: archive download-sw /destination 1 /destination 2 /destination 3 tftp:///filename.tar
Using the simplified command above, this will instruct the switch to download the IOS from your TFTP server into the switch stack master's memory. The "/destination X" means it will be pushed out to each member one-at-a-time. The boot statement will also be changed so the stack will know what IOS to use.

Spry Tabbed Pannels issue: adding new divs disrupting widget

I am having issues adding divs to the existing html framework of the .TabbedPannel div. Once I add additional divs, the content for each individual tab is displayed in one long pannel. I think once I added the new divs, the javascript was messed up. I'm a newb when it comes to javascript. does someone have advice for this issue?
Note, once I added the ".b" ".l" ".r" class divs, the pannels got all messed up.

If you want to assign different CSS rules to your content-panel, then why not apply those rules as follows:

Switch ordering in a 3750x stack

Hello,
Does it matter which switch in a 3750x stack is the master (switch1)? I have two 3750x's, one a 48 port poe and another a 24 port poe. They are in a stack. Now the 48 port is on top and stacking cables connected to the 24 port on bottom. Of course the bottom switch becomes switch 1 and has interfaces Gi1/0/1 through 1/0/24.
They are both running 12.2(55)SE8 C3750E-UNIVERSALK9-M (ipbase). They are in staging now going to a new remote branch office.
I guess it really doesn't matter which switch is 1 and which is 2 does it? When we get into the new office and I break this equipment down, then I will rack the 24 port on top and the 48 port on bottom then if that makes more sense.
Or I could change it, I guess by altering this line in the config right
switch 1 provision ws-c3750x-24p
switch 2 provision ws-c3750x-48p
to
switch 1 provision ws-c3750x-48p
switch 2 provision ws-c3750x-24p
Or do you think a 24 port as the master would be better. If it has less ports to manage, maybe more CPU cycles to do master stack related things?

Cisco recommends the stack master not host stack uplinks. As best as I can tell, this is to try to keep some CPU processing off the stack master. So, in theory, having the master on the switch with the fewer ports might be "better" too. (Also if only one uplink, keep it off the stack master.)
As higher stack priority doesn't preempt (when a member joins a stack), you cannot guarantee which switch is the stack master unless you manually oversee the stack election. So, personally, I don't try to control it. Also, if the switch stack is forwarding in hardware, as it should, I wouldn't expect such forwarding to matter much to the switch running as master, i.e. available CPU cycles, for master needs, should be the about the same on any stack unit.

Added additional user. How do I configure password for this user?

A bit confused by your query, so can you clarify a few points.
re: added additional user
You do not add additional users to Thunderbird, so I presume you mean you have tried to create another mail account for someone else in your own profile.
You do not configure passwords for other peoples email addresses as that would be a privacy issue and only they should do it.
Lets start at the begining.
If more than one person is using a computer, they should have their own User Account which they access via a password they choose. This gives them their own desktop view and access to programs installed on computer, such as Thunderbird.
Thunderbird will be available for them to use.
When you run it for the first time in their User Account, it will create a Profile in their User Account.
Thunderbird will also then ask you to create a mail account in that Profile.
The details you enter will ask for Name. email address and a password.
That password is the same password they use to access their email in their webmail account using a browser, so only they should know that password and they should not divulge it to anyone - however in some cases, eg: spouses, they may know each others password.
You can choose whether Thunderbird remembers the password or not before creating the account, but the password would still be required to configure the mail account.
This method means that no one can see that persons emails nor access their password details because they do not know the password to the computer User Account.
If you have only the one admin User Account which several people use, then anyone has access to anything on that computer. This may be fine if eg; spouses share the computer, but it is not a practise that should be used in any other environment.
If you have mail accounts created in the same Thunderbird profile, then all mail and passwords are freely available for anyone to see and this may not be desired.
Some people use only the one User Account, but they have their own Profile created in Thunderbird.
When Thunderbird was initially run, it created a defult Profile, but you can add additional Profiles using the Profile Manager.
The mail account is created in that Profile and then they can apply a Master Password in Thunderbird.
This means that anyone can still see anyone's emails as on startup as anyone can select any Profile.
But, the access to passwords is locked and removal of Master Password will remove all stored paswords to safe guard privacy.

Adding additional url for owa/ecp

Dear friends,
My requirement is to add additional domain name url for OWA for my exchange 2013. Let me explain:
Currently my public url for OWA is mail.domain.com and now i want to add additional name like mail.domain2.com . I have added additional suffix and create users for this, now the remaining part is the url for OWA. I have created dns entries in godaddy and
i have the ssl certificate for both the domain names. I can access the owa using the another url domain but hitting certificate error.
Please help.

From your description, the issue is related to the certificate. I would like to verify if you have one CAS server. If yes, you can create these two names in one certificate and check the result.

Default payment method issue in Additional Off-Cycle Payments

Hello everyone,
I have an issue with Additional Off-Cycle Payments and running this in payroll driver.
I have maintained V_T52OCB or "Define default values for payment methods" in IMG as Check (C) but when I run payroll for this employee I see that payroll driver is considering Infotype 0009 which is a direct deposit but when I run the same employee in OFF-CYCLE Workbench I see that the run is defaulted to Check and is not considering Infotype 0009 which is correct.
What I don't understand is the same record when processed through regular payroll driver (RPCALC) is considering Infotype 0009 but Off-cycle is considering default payment method for Off-Cycle defined in IMG.
Has anyone seen this kind of issue?

Hello Hemanth,
The value you maintain in V_T52OCB is only for defaulting the Payment type in Offcycle Workbench Screen for the Reason you have choosen for the offcycle, it doesn't mean it would be run only by that payment type and you can overrite in offcycle workbench itself by choosing the other payment type.
For Offcycle run it always with the value entered in IT 0009, For off-cycle, if there is a valid record with subtype 5/6, it will be used otherwise subtype 0/1 will be used if payment method selected is according to IT.
If payment method is not according to IT a new record will be created in IT 0009 for the exact date.
For Manual check, the check number can be entered in Offcycle workbench.

Urgent: Validation on additional units field in Infotype 15: Points assured

I am implementing enhancement PBAS0001using function exit EXIT_SAPFP50M_002
for putting validation on number of additional units entered.
In our company, a predefined no. of units is allotted to every PS group for the whole year. Now i need to validate if the no. of add. units entered for an employee for a given year against the limit set for the PS group he belongs to.
I have created two ztables. One is a master table for the PS group and the annual limit.
and the other one is for storing the month wise additional units and the total add. units conusmed . Its structure is : pernr, lgart, entry_date, add. units, total units consumed, year, month.
Now in the exit i am coding statement like
lv_new_tot = innnn-anzhl + lv_tot.
where lv_new_tot denotes the new sum of add. units consumed and lv_tot is the previous
total of add. units consumed.
But it gives an error saying: INNNN does'nt have a component anzhl.
Now please tell me how to refer to the additional units for the current entry being made.
