404 when trying to access apex using Oracle XE

I've installed a new system disk on my computer.
On my old system I had Oracle XE + Apex 3.1 installed on a data drive in e:\oracleXE
On my new system I installed Oracle XE in e:\oracleXE2. Then copied the contents of E:\oracleXE\oradata\XE to E:\oracleXE2\oradata\XE and hoped everything I had in the old environment would work in the new environment.
My new database starts fine and all the old data is now available.
Unfortunately APEX is not available. When I go to localhost:8080 I get the Oracle XE license agreement page but going to localhost:8080/apex gives a 404 error.
Any suggestions for things I have missed or things to check are welcome.

To answer my own question. I tried to export my apex applications using SQLDeveloper when I got an error message indicating that my temporary tablespace did not have any tempfiles. After adding a tempfile things run as normal.

    Thanks,

    What web server are you using, if it is OHS then the online will be automatically configured and redirect to the help located on the Oracle website.
    If you are using a different web server or want to run the help locally have a read of - Configuring Online Help to Run Locally

  • Http500 when trying to access URL for Oracle Application Server Console

    We have a new install of R12.1.0 on Windows 2003 R2 (32bit). The Applications seem to work fine. Users can access the R12 applications and submit jobs.
    We need to configure a new oc4j instance, so we are trying to access the Oracle Applications Server Console for the first time. After entering the URL below, we encounter an Http 500 error. The Application server console service is running.

    Mark,
    The document (Note: 603716.1 - Using AS10g AS Control with eBusiness Suite Rel 12) used to be available for public access but seems not anymore. Please log a SR to get a copy of this doc as you need to follow the steps in this doc to access AS Control with R12.

  • Getting 404 when trying to access QaaWS from CMC after upgrade to 3.1

    I just upgraded our Development system from BOXI 3.0 to 3.1. Our environment is Oracle Application Server on HP-Unix.
    One of the new features I expected was a facility for managing QaaWS Queries within the CMC. When I bring up the CMC after upgrade I see a new item called "QaaWS", but when I click to open it I get a "404 Missing Page" Error.
    Is there a new Server I need to install or some other configuration I need to do? There's nothing in the Installation and Deployment Guide about this.
    The QaaWS queries we created are still working fine.

    I would try to re-deploy all war files to your application server first.
    Using wdeploy tool would probably be the best, or you can do it manualy.

    I have no audio when using qucktime to view videos on a PC using windows xp.  I have uninstalled the software and re-installed it to no avail.  Using default settings. Specifically trying to use Vic Firth.com

    d scriv, I took a brief look at the website you posted. It appears to be using Adobe Flash Player
    http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
    Unless I'm missing something here. I don't think QuickTime is going to be of much help with that website. Even if you saved a file from the website to the hard drive, it would not be easy to get QT to play it

    Right. If you are using delegated privs and sudo, make sure that sudo is configured to pass on the PERL5LIB and ORACLE_HOME environment variables at least.

         }Please help me out:
    Thanks a lot in advance.

    0- the fact the ISA server logs an 'anonymous' seems logical, since it answers by HTTP 407. I will say it's even a "good log" :) but I had preferred a good old "security exception" but it's not the case..
    1- The code for checking the properties (your debugging) should be placed BEFORE trying to connect to the url if you want to see what's happening
    2- The 'normal' way to set the proxy is to set the following properties
    System.setProperty("http.proxySet","true"); // and NOT https.proxyset as ejp said
    System.setProperty("http.proxyHost","123.456.789.123");
    System.setProperty("http.proxyPort","80");
    3- what's the behavior if you change 123.456.789.123 by the real name (hostname) of the server ?
    4- You can try setting up the proxy in the java control panel instead of in your code (easy to do under Windows, you look for the networking settings, and you find the proxy settings for http/https there. Otherwise look for all files called net.properties and edit them).
    5- to help debbuging, we can rely on several methods of Authenticator :
    protected PasswordAuthentication getPasswordAuthentication() {
    System.err.println(".\tgetRequestingHost: " + getRequestingHost());
    System.err.println("..\tgetRequestingSite: " + getRequestingSite());
    System.err.println("...\tgetRequestingPort: " + getRequestingPort());
    System.err.println("....\tgetRequestingProtocol: " + getRequestingProtocol());
    System.err.println(".....\tgetRequestingPrompt: " + getRequestingPrompt());
    System.err.println("......\tgetRequestingScheme: " + getRequestingScheme());
    return new PasswordAuthentication("<USERNAME>",new String("<USER_PASSWORD>").toCharArray());
    Try all this and let us see the output messages.
    Please remember to give some 'duke stars' if it helped resolving the problem ;)

  • HTTP error when trying to access RESTful web service from application

    Hi,
    We are getting the following error when trying to access a RESTful web service coming from Apex workspace 4.2.1 and Apex listener 2.1:
    ORA-29273: HTTP request failed ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_HTTP", line 1130 ORA-29024: Certificate validation failure
    In the Debug report, besides the above I also see:
    error_backtrace: ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_HTTP", line 1130 ORA-06512: at "APEX_040200.WWV_FLOW_WEB_SERVICES", line 543 ORA-06512: at "APEX_040200.WWV_FLOW_WEB_SERVICES", line 1164 ORA-06512: at "APEX_040200.WWV_FLOW_PROCESS", line 396
    We get that error whether we use https or http in the URI pointing to the web service. When I test the Web Service in Workspace RESTful service GUI, I get the data back. When I go build an application with a report calling the RESTful Web Service I get that error. Both the Application and the Workspace RESTful services are on the same Apex environment and even the same workspace.
    What is odd is that I can actually put the URL of the web service into a browser and I get the data: (using the demo hr data in sample RESTful services.)

    Any ideas on what would be causing the Error above in our application?
    Thanks,

    In reviewing the above error, I think we are realizing that we have to have the Weblogic layer SSL cert (actually the CERT from our BigIP load balancer which also does our SSL termination) imported into the Oracle server wallet where Apex is installed. Am I correct?
    PM

    We resolved our problem. The Apex Administrative Guide made us realize that we had to set up Wallet path in the Instance. This required working with DBAs to follow the Advanced networking guide to get the wallet set up on our server. We then added that path to the Instance configuration. (Manager Instance --> Instance settings). We ran into another other issue related to our implementation of CAS but were able to resolve that, and 'voila' were able to get the sample RESTful service consumed by our application!!
    Now to the task of figuring out how to get Basic Auth working between client application and RESTful web service. If anyone has that working, let us know!!
    It would be helpful if in the documentation of the Apex 2.x listener or Apex install/configuration there was clear reference to the above steps required for HTTPS access to RESTful web services.

  • Error 404 while trying to access eas console

    We are getting error 404 all of a sudden when trying to access eas console. We have checked to make sure that all the services are up and running, and the port(10080) is up and running.
    We had a similar error with workspace a while back, and we had to modify port numbers on the mod_wl_ohs.conf file.
    But we find that the port numbers are unchanged this time in the conf file.
    Is there any other port we can use for eas console? http://<servername>:10080/easconsole/console.html
    All other services that sit on the same server work fine.(workspace, APS etc)
    Has anybody seen this kind of problem before?
    Thanks.

    If you are using 11.1.2 search for 404 in the EPM readme at: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/epm_1112000_readme.pdf
    What happens if if the install user logs into the machine and then out temp files in use by the application are removed; out of the box the user temp variables are used during deployment; there is a work-around to turn off terminal service feature to delete files on exist.
    In addition to confirming the service is up and running and the port answers you should review the syserror and sysout files which for 11.1.1.X are located in <HYPERION_INSTALL_DRIVE>\Hyperion\logs\services and in 11.1.2.X are located in <ORACLE_INSTALL_DRIVE>\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\epmsystem1\diagnostics\logs\services

  • HTTP 403 when trying to access a protected resource

    I'm setting up a very simple enviornment to test the basic functionalities of Access Manager 7.1 but I keep on getting an "HTTP 403 forbidden" error when trying to access a protected resouce. I think I've set the required policies, rules, etc., but still, I may have missed a step. Any ideas / advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
    Here's my setup and steps I took.
    iamsys05.iamtest.com ¡V policy server, Access Manager 7.1 Update 1
    iamsys06.iamtest.com ¡V protected resource, Apache 2.2.8 web server
    On Policy Server (iamsys05):
    1.     Created ¡§Apache Policy 1¡¨ on top-level realm.
    2.     Under Apache Policy 1, created rule ¡§apache root¡¨ with service type = URL Policy agent and resource name: http://iamsys06.iamtest.com:8080/*
    3.     Under Apache Policy 1, created subjects ¡§all users¡¨ with type=Acess Manager Identity Subject and selected all users under the realm. One of these users is amAdmin.
    4.     Created agent profile user ¡§webagent¡¨ on top-level realm (amserver) [amserver „³ Subjects „³ Agent ].
    5.     Created user ¡§webagent¡¨ on top-level realm [amserver „³ Subjects „³ User].
    6.     Created role ¡§webagentrole¡¨ on top-level realm [amserver „³ Subjects „³ Role].
    7.     Assigned user ¡§webagent¡¨ to role ¡§webagentrole¡¨.
    8.     Set the privileges for webagentrole to ¡§Read and write access to all realm and policy properties¡¨
    9.     Added the webagent user account to com.sun.identity.authentication.special.users in AMConfig.properties file.
    com.sun.identity.authentication.special.users=
    cn=dsameuser,ou=DSAME Users,dc=sun, dc=com|cn=amService-UrlAccessAgent,ou=DSAME Users,dc=sun,dc=com |uid=dmgr,ou=people,dc=sun,dc=com|uid=webagent,ou=People,dc=amserver,dc=com
    10.     Restarted amserver application.
    On Protected Resource (iamsys06):
    1.     Installed Apache 2.2.8 web server and set listening port to 8080. Tested by opening http://iamsys06.iamtest.com:8080. Home page displayed (It works!)
    2.     Installed Policy Agent for Apache 2.2.
    3.     Restarted apache 2.2 web server
    4.     Opened http://iamsys06.iamtest.com:8080.
    5.     Browser redirected to http://iamsys05:9080/amserver/UI/Login?goto=http%3A%2F%2Fiamsys06.iamtest.com%3A8080%2F
    6.     Access Manager login page displayed
    7.     Entered a valid ID and password (amadmin). This is the Access manager admin account I use to login to the AM Admin console so I know the id and password are valid. Hit Login.
    8.     After about 30 seconds, browser is redirected to http://iamsys05:9080/amserver/UI/Login?AMAuthCookie=AQIC5wM2LY4SfcyNiM%2B36w9DDhY5NmKc2PF6%2Fx4x2%2FUJ18M%3D%40AAJTSQACMDE%3D%23. Brwser displays "HTTP 403 Forbidden. This error (HTTP 403 Forbidden) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the website, but it does not have permission to view the webpage." I get this with IE6.
    9.     Using Firefox, I get a ¡§Redirect Loop¡¨ error message ¡§Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.¡¨
    Thanks
    -Armand

    Installed tamper data and from what I can tell, the requests go back and forth between AM server and protected resource. Here's the Request Graph output.
