6300 bluetooth - memory

My 6300 connects via bluetooth to a Garmin satnav. Recently, driving across European borders and receiving unwanted text messages telling me what country I was in and the cost of calls, the phone kept disconnecting tell me there was insufficient memory and asking me to delete data to receive service calls. There is lots of space both on the card and phone. I could re-connect after reading a text or two but had to pull over to do so.
Am I set up wrongly? Is this a frequent problem?

The file size is 2.8MB, it's a Chinese-English dictionary.

  • Nokia 6300: Lost memory card = Lost applications

    Hi
Does anyone know if I can download the Collection software that came on the included memory card of my new 6300?
I somehow lost the microSD card and no way I'm i retracing my steps to try and find it. Ive ordered a bigger memory card but wanted to download the applications that originally came with the phone.
I've tried a few routes Nokia/Orange but no one seems to know. I'm looking to anyone out there who may have an idea.
    Many thanks
    Barry

I had the same problem and contacted Nokia help email,
    Solution
    1. Install Nokia PC suite on your PC.
    2. Have original memory card with games etc on it in your phone.
    3. Connect your phone by cable to your PC and select Nokia mode on your phone and File manager in PC suite.
4.Select 'memory card' in the window that appears and select all folders on the card, transfer the folders to your 'desktop' on your PC.
    5. Place your new 1GB card into a usb card reader and transfer the folders from your desktop to the new card.
    6. Replace the new card for the old and all should be OK, you are supposed to be-able to transfer direct from the PC to your phone but the 'Games & Collection' folders won't move !.

  • Nokia 6300 bluetooth query

hi i have a nokia 6300 and am trying to figure bluetooth out i have paired with my wifes phone and she can prowse my files but when i go to paired devices and select her phone the only options i have available is 1.assign short name 2.auto-connect, no confirmation 3. delete pairing 4. pair new device. how can i browse her files like she can browse mine?? i have also been to data transfer section and added new transfer contact and when i try to syncronize it says bluetooth connection failed both mine and her bluetooth connection are active and are listed for all too see and she has authorized me she has the samsung d900i if any1 can help i would appreciate it thanks

Those .inf files you are talking about are modem drivers only.
You install them if you don't have PC Suite or Ovi Suite installed and you still want to use your phone as a modem for your computer.
To me your problem sounds more like a bluetooth stack incompatibility in your PC.
You have an Asus, so I guess you are running on Toshiba bluetooth.
Try the latest bluetooth stack from here:

  • Nokia 6300 Bluetooth driver for Windows 7

    Hey Guys,
Since installing Windows 7 Professional, 32 bit, on my ASUS laptop, it won't let me connect to my Nokia 6300 via bluetooth anymore. It was fine with Vista. I've installed PC Suite - that still connects fine.
However when I go to connect via bluetooth through windows (so I can transfer songs through windows media player, which I have to do for some of them since which won't transfer through Nokia Music Manager), it says driver cannot be found. It then tries to find it to no avail.
I tried going here http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/nokia-6300/software but I don't know how to install the drivers. Where do I save them to? They're inf files and just open up with notepad.
I tried saving them to C:\Windows\inf but it didn't work. When I try to connect it just tries to find the driver manually and won't give me an option to point to that file, only the directory. But still doesn't pick it up and will say that there isn't the right driver.
    Any help?

  • Nokia 6300 Bluetooth Problem?

    Hello Everyone,
I Recently bought my beautiful Nokia6300.
From my previous phone (6310i)I have the Cark112 Bluetooth Carkit. But when I try to make a bluetooth phonecall with my 6300 through this carkit, my correspondent can understand me only for one minute, after that there's a lot of annoying noise and he cannot understand my clearly... so I have to stop the call. I tried to call with the 6310i again, and there was no problem, everything worked fine...
Does anyone knows where the problem could be? Is this carkit too old? Is the bluetooth in new phones different from the older 6310i phones? Maybe the problem is the nokia6300, I really would like to solve this annoying problem, cause I would like to call handsfree in a proper way..
    Hope anyone can help.
    Davy

I have similar problem - the other party hear noise and/or sound is distorted, while I can hear fine.
    Do you have any follow-ups?

  • Bluetooth / Memory on 6230i

Is there a way to install games/applications on my memory card via bluetooth? Can only install about 5 games on my phone, before it says "memory full" 1mb allocated. Is there a way to customise it, so that I can increase the memory which that can use, or possibly do it so i can install them on my memory card.
Also, is there a way to browse using bluetooth connection? My friend is able to browse the contents of my phone when we bluetooth, but I am unable to him. Same applies with my dongle.
Is there any ways to do the above?

No, only on newer phones such as the 6280 and 6233 phones can you move application onto the memory card. The 6230i does not allow for that.

  • Nokia 6300 Bluetooth - useless?

Just got a 6300, as did a friend of mine. Even sat next to each other neither phone will detect the other.
Friends with different makes of phone can see mine, but I can't see theirs.
    Is this a known problem?

Nope, not that I know about. Unless the other bluetooth device is not active & not hidden(should be shown to all) you'll be able to see it!
Knowledge not shared is knowledge wasted!

  • 6300 Bluetooth Vista Nightmares!

I downloaded the latest version of PC Suite and was unable to connect my old 6230 to my Vaio VGN-FE41S running Vista HP x32 using Bluetooth. The only way to get my contacts transferred to PC Suite (and thence across to my new 6300) was to buy a cable, which fortunately worked.
I then try to connect the new 6300 to PC Suite but get the response 'Cannot use the Connection Type. Check that all the needed hardware, software and drivers are available.' There appears to be no way round this, even when Bluetooth is selected on the phone and the Bluetooth light is shining bright on the computer. I've tried Sitecom USB and Motorola Bluetooth USB devices, all without success.
The costs are mounting and now it looks as if I'll have to buy yet another cable for the new phone.
What a complete nightmare, enough to prevent anyone from wanting to buy a Nokia - or a Sony for that matter - ever again!
Has anyone had similar problems and can they recommend a way round it?
    Cheers

    Hi rodosto,
If you have Toshiba BT stack, see this:
    /discussions/board/message?board.id=connectivity&message.id=8143&view=by_date_ascending&page=2
(so update your PC Suite to version 6.84 and Toshiba BT stack to version 5.10)

  • Constantly resetting SMU for lost Bluetooth/Memory errors

We are constantly losing bluetooth and randomly experiencing other behaviors that are usually helped by resetting the SMU. But we're now resetting the SMU nearly every other day. It fixes everything for a short while, and then, early the next morning at wake-up or re-boot, there is no bluetooth. And, along with that, uncharacteristic fan running on an otherwise very quiet machine.
Perhaps related?: An Apple Hardware test shows an error in the second RAM slot. I removed that stick (we have two identical 500mb Crucial sticks) and the test came up fine. Then switching the sticks and the error is still in the second slot, so I'm thinking there is something wrong with the slot, not the RAM sticks.
Any suggestions before we trek to the Mac Store for help?
    iMac G5 1.8 GhZ   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

Thanks, I think we'll have to do that. I removed the memory stick from the second slot, after actually switching the sticks, and this morning the little bluetooth mouse woke up the computer just fine. So the slot itself is very likely the problem. Still under Apple Care, so I hope it will be covered!

  • Old Nokia 6300 to new 6300 Nokia "memory card"

Please can someone advise me on how to enable the old memory card into the new 6300 phone. Same phone but memory card wont work, tried formatting via pc and no luck. Thanks

    Hi
This means, that your new phone doesn't see mem card inserted into slot?
Maybe slot is out of order or memory card is bust. But if computer see it, card should be good. I don't supose you put it from the wrong side.
Check with any other memory card.

  • 6300 bluetooth disconnection problems

Hi all, first post after much searching...
I've recently got a 6300 and I'm having some problems with bluetooth :-(
I use it to connect to my built in hands free kit in my '07 Honda Civic.
It connects automatically (great), and I can make and recieve a call with no problem.
HOWEVER - when making or receiving a second call (later on), the 6300 disconnects itself as the phone is ringing.
Possibly a similar problem occurs when I connect the phone (via bluetooth) to my laptop.
I've tried all sorts of ways - pairing to the laptop from the phone, pairing to the phone from the laptop (both via bluetooth manager and via PC Suite).
No matter what I do, the result is the same:
The phone pairs succesfully, and syncs to my outlook calendar - great.
10 seconds later, it disconnects - not great.
The only way to re-connect is to delete the pairing and re-pair.
The phone is running version 6.01, and PC Suite is 7.0.7.0, running on XP.
anyone got any ideas please? - It's driving me nuts... :-(

  • Bluetooth Memory Problem

    Hi everyone,
Can someone please help with this! I'm using a Nokia 7600. My friend is trying to send me a file which is about 700kb. My phone is saying ''not enough memory to recieve file'', but it has 29mb of memory left.
I've heard of some program called MSVDriveE that could help, so i downloaded it, but the 7600 doesn't recognise .sis files.
My dad uses a Nokia 6230 and gets the same problem. (yep, a family of Nokia users) I'd rather sort it for me 1st though!
So can someone please help me sort this!
    Thanks alot

I tried changing the extention to .jar and it got onto the phone but it cannot be installed, the 7600 is definately not symbian.
So now what i'm asking, is there another way to fix this problem, even though my Nokia 7600 is not symbian?
The problem is that it seems to be saving everything to the phone memory rather than memory card, so it's saying i have no space when i get a file via bluetooth or infrared. There is no option on the phone to save everything to memory card.
    Any help is appreciated

  • Nokia 6300 Bluetooth Passcode

Hello, I just bought Nokia 6300 & trying to pair my exisint Bluetooth & it's asking passcode, Any idea how to find passcode? My previous phone passcode was 0000. Please let me know if you have any idea how to find passcode. Thanks

...actually the pass code your mobile is asking is for the bluetooth that you are trying to pair with your mobile e.g. bluetooth headset…
...read your bluetooth device manual and I’m very sure that the pass code is written there…Message Edited by joshua_sx1 on 18-Sep-200705:45 AM

  • 6300 phone memory status menu item location?

    Hello there.
I got a 6300 yesterday and I've been reading up about the memory issues. I intend to use the memory card for everything I can, so it's not a problem really.
However, no matter where I look, I can't seem to find where to check the memory status of the phone in the menus. I obviously want to make sure I don't overload the memory because it's so small but I can't find where to check how much free internal memory I have.
    Could someone direct me please?
    Many thanks.
