6500 loses connection during NSU

So here i go, trying to update my 6500 classic, i've been waiting a while since last time. Because last time i had to return my phone to nokia and get a new one, which took about 2 months. And i don't have time for that. But since the 6500 classic is full of bugs i needed to update it. I cant wait 1 hour before using my phone just becuase i booted it.  So when i decided to update it i got to the part where the NSU is supposed to install the new firmware. but nothing happned and suddenly the phone lost connectivity to my computer and the NSU said there was an error and i needed to connect my phone again.. well easier said than done. i disconnected my phone (which according to the NSU and PC-Suite alredy is disconnected) and then connected it again. but nothing happens. does anyone have a sollution to this? im so close to throwing my nokia and change phone to a brand that works!

I know what you are going through mate... , I had the 6500 slide and it too crashed all the time, I bought it off Three (3) and I wen't to their store complaining that that the phone didn't work, I went to their store for 1 month, every day, they didn't help and I had to upgrade to the N95 8Gb, paying 40$ extra each month, 6500 (both slide and classic) are heaps of trouble, they are the worse phones made by nokia I guess, but their hardware were really good, I loved the build quality..

Test after taking each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Back up all data before making any changes.
    1. Make sure the network is on the preferred list by following these instructions. It's important to read the article carefully, as it's the starting point for any further efforts to solve the problem. If you skip any of the steps, the problem may not be solved. Make sure the box marked
Remember networks this computer has joined
    is checked.
    2. Follow the instructions in this support article under the heading
Symptom: After restarting or waking from sleep, my computer might not connect to the Internet
    3. Reset the PRAM.
    4. Make a note of all your settings for Wi-Fi in the Network preference pane, then delete the connection from the connection list and recreate it with the same settings. You do this by clicking the plus-sign icon below the connection list, and selecting Wi-Fi as the interface in the sheet that opens. Select Join other network from the Network Name menu, then select your network. Enter the password when prompted and save it in the keychain.
    5. From the Location menu at the top of the Network preference pane, select Edit Locations. A sheet will drop down. Click the plus-sign button to create a new location. Give it any name you want. In the new location, set up the Wi-Fi service with the same settings you used before. Click Apply and test.
    6. Launch the Keychain Access application. Search for and delete all AirPort network password items that refer to the network. Make a note of the password first.
    7. Repair permissions on the startup volume.
    8. Turn off Bluetooth and test.
    9. Reset the System Management Controller.
    10. This step shouldn't be necessary, but has been advised by Apple Support in some cases, apparently as a workaround for a bug. Open the Energy Saver pane in System Preferences. If applicable, click the padlock icon in the lower left corner to unlock the settings. Enter your administrator login password when prompted.
Select the Power Adapter tab and uncheck the boxes marked
              Wake for Wi-Fi network access
    and
              Enable Power Nap...
if present. Then, if the computer is a MacBook, select the Battery tab and uncheck
              Enable Power Nap...
    11. Reinstall OS X.

  • WUSB600N ver.2 loses connection during data transmission

    Hello.
    I have Linksys WUSB600N Wireless-N USB Adapter with Dual-Band ver. 2 with the drivers ver. 3.0.10.0;
The environment is the Win7 32bit, 2Gb RAM and i5 2.44 Mhz processor.
The issue is that during data transmission from the notebook where the WUSB600N is installed the Link Speed between Router (WRT610N ver.2) and the WUSB600N starts to degradate in a few minutes till 13Mbit/sec or less and interrupts at the end. Then after a few seconds the Link is self-repaired up to 216-300Mbit/sec again.
There is not any problem in case of transferring the data from the router to notebook.
I've tried to install drivers from Ralink ver. 3.1.3.0 but  Network Mode N does not work with router on 5.4Mhz channels (cannot establish connection at all).
    Any ideas?

    Hi again,
Unfortunately after about 36 hours I had the same issue.  It was quite difficult to get it back even after unplugging and plugging back in the router so I connected my dsl directly to my laptop (which worked immediately) for about 8 hours and went back to my router and now it's working again.  But I'm quite sure it will happen again.  A few more notes...I had my router plugged in directly to my ethernet port when it happened so seems that it's not so much a wireless issue.  Also, I had a download going on at the time of disconnect while I was doing a bit of surfing...so I don't know if maxing out bandwidth for a while can be a cause?  If there's any other info that can be helpful in diagnosing this just let me know.  I consider myself computer savvy (as it's part of my job) although networking is not my field.  But setting up a basic home network I think is normally not so difficult but with this I'm stumped... :-(
    Thanks again for the help,
    Jo

I am trying to use the migration assistant to transfer my files from a vista pc to my new MacPro.  It gets to a certain point and then loses their connection.  Can someone give me some pointers?

Step one, boot the new MBA into recovery mode (CMD+R on startup), launch Disk Utility, wipe the HD, and restore the OS. On reboot, use the Setup Assistant to do the migration. Details in Pondini's Setup New Mac guide.

I can see the remote machine's (at work) login screen, and I can enter my password. But after I enter my password to login, ARD keeps saying that it is attempting to reconnect, but it never can. All I can do is click stop and give up the attempt. When I get to work the next morning, the machine is logged in to my account. Has anyone else seen this? Both machines are runnning 10.4.8

  • MacbookPro loses connection with Logitech V270 periodically during use

My MacbookPro loses connection with Logitech V270 periodically during use. THis happens about every 5 to 10 minutes. I get the pic on the screen showing that the computer has lost the connection with the mouse and then after a few seconds it reconnects and works again. I've tested it out with my Powerbook and it works fine so I think it must be related to the MacbookPro. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

    Hi, Jeffrey!
Yes, there have been a few such problems discussed here, and in the MacBook Pro Bluetooth, USB... forum; the Other Bluetooth devices forum; and elsewhere in Apple Discussions related to Logitech V270 performance issues with both PPC and Intel-based Macs, &/or to Bluetooth performance in Intel-based Macs specifically. But, given an assumption or two about the number of participants who are not posting about such problems, my guess is that both Bluetooth and the V270 are working for many users. (By which I mean: let's presume the problem is amenable to troubleshooting...)
As an example, here's a link to a thread specifically about connection problems with the Logitech V270 — including various posts, apparently all by PPC users. But don't let "nay-sayers" get you down... By the way, the fact that the V270 works more reliably with your PowerBook is not, imo, definite proof that there's some inherent problem related to the MacBook Pro — various factors such as software, "pairing" and connection, differerent peripherals configuration, etc. may differ between the two Macs and affect the V270's functionality.
I'm not aware of single, straightforward underlying cause for what you're experiencing; some troubleshooting and trial-and-error may be required to resolve it. So, if I may, here are a few thoughts/suggestions; perhaps some may be relevant &/or helpful:
      (1) Although Logitech says here that the V270 doesn't require a driver for Mac OS X functionality, they did recently update the Logitech Control Center software to v.2.0.0 (download page + VersionTracker reviews) for Universal compatibility — so why not at least try it?  (Keep in mind that Logitech recommends uninstalling all of their outdated software before installing anew — and, thus, this would probably also be a good idea if LCC 2.0.0 doesn't work for you after giving it a solid "test drive.")
      (2) "3rd-party" drivers (like SteerMouse — also a Universal Binary — often improve functionality of Bluetooth-enabled mice. Although dropped connections are probably due to another factor, this is shareware and offers a trial period — so, again, no harm in checking it out.
      (3) There are various troubleshooting steps worth trying for lost Bluetooth connections. Some that you may come across aren't applicable to your MacBook Pro — because, for example, its Bluetooth firmware and software should be current after application of the Mac OS X 10.4.6 Combo for Intel Update. Some other things worth considering include those listed below. Hopefully, one will work and you won't need to try them all:
        (a) The best first step to try usually involves simply deleting your mouse's "pairing" and using the Bluetooth Setup Assistant (BSA) to reconfigure it just as you did initially after purchase.
        (b) Sometimes a variation of "power-cyling" (of the internal Bluetooth module and the mouse) helps with a problem like this. With a laptop, this would involve two basic steps. Shut down the MacBook Pro normally (not restart), and leave it off for several minutes before rebooting. Remove the mouse's batteries for at least 1 minute, then replace them (preferably with new) — taking care of their polarity and that they are seated properly. Check that the internal metal contacts/springs, etc. are clean, unbent, and free from corrosion. Some users have reported ~high sensitivity to the in-place voltage of batteries for the Bluetooth connection process to succeed. Leave the V270's "on/off switch" in the "off" position while starting-up the MacBook Pro, then turn it "on" and re-pair if necessary.
Some users have also reported success with Bluetooth-related problems by resetting PRAM and NVRAM. Others have tried resetting the Power Management Unit (PMU), although my personal virew is that (as described in the article just linked) this should always be considered a "last resort."  Article 303234 also lists both of these options.
        (c) Non-compliant USB device(s) and other USB-related issues (such as a device acting as a "traffic hog" through your controller) can cause this kind of problem. Most can be identified using the tried-and-true method of a process of elimination. (See, e.g., KnowledgeBase articles 58033 and 25243.)
        (d) Make a careful inventory of potential sources of 2.4 GHz RF interference in the environment(s) where the problems occur — and taking any appropriate steps to isolate and resolve any issues you may identify.
        (e) If nothing else has helped, perhaps further exploration is warranted.  Do you see anything in Activity Monitor or your system.log or console.log closely correlated to the times of "dropped connections" that may provide a clue about what's happening?
        (f) If the behavior began recently, re-applying the Mac OS X 10.4.6 Combo for Intel updater may be a step worth trying: several Bluetooth improvements were incorporated in this release, and reapplying the Combo updater has reportedly helped others with Bluetooth-related problems.
        (g) Although I don't recall an example of corrupt preferences causing this particular behavior, you may want to try removing ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist  and restarting (or logging-out and -in again), if nothing else has worked. As with any such preferences "refreshing," you'd need to reset things the way you like in System Preferences »» Bluetooth after this return to default preferences.
I hope something here is useful to you in troubleshooting and solving the intermittent "dropped-connections" problem.
Please post back to share your progress — it may help others.
    Regards,
    Dean

  • N95 repeatedly loses consciousness during the upda...

What is the problem as my N95 repeatedly (already 5 times) loses consciousness during the update. There is plenty of power in the battery and I have charger cable connected.
The PC update software always asks me to resurrect the phone ("elvytä" in Finnish) by removing the battery and charger for a moment and reconnecting, pressing the power on button for a few seconds and then pressing some type of "try to resurrect" button on the update sw's user interface.
    I have tried to
    * not have the charger plugged in (no effect)
    * not to give pin (does not resurrect)
    * to give pin (seems the way to go but dies again)
After so many times of having to resurrect the phone I have now canceled the sw update, but now the phone seems to die on its own.
    What to do?

It's happened to me twice in the last 11 days, and it's happened twice to another user as well. See this thread for more:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4408720?start=0&tstart=0
Not too pleased about this, because it takes about 30 hours to sync my 64 GB Touch due to converting to 128 Kbps AAC. This never happened to me with any version of iOS prior to 6. It's just music that goes missing, and it is not due to wireless sync, which I disabled long ago.

  • SSAS loses connection to local workspace

I seem to be running into this quite regularly these days. I'm editing an SSAS tabular model, filtering data in the views in VS 2012 to verify that calculations are working, and I get this:
The result is that any work you've done since you last saved is lost, because you won't be able to save. It's really getting quite frustrating.
I did find a post online that went over how you could recover your work from your local workspace SSAS install by reverse engineering/scripting the cube out of it, but that's really not an option in my case since I'm using source control and can't dump my
project history every time this happens (and it happens multiple times a day now).
Does anyone know of a workaround for this issue before I open a support incident? Thanks.
Edit: Seems that screenshots don't get persisted to the messages in MSDN forums anymore. Here's the text of what would have been in the screenshot:
"cannot complete the operation because there is no connection to the workspace database that contains the model currently being edited"
Specific steps to re-create. Filter any column in the tabular designer, and when you go to clear the filter if you hit clear before the list of available values populates in the box below, it'll lose connection to the workspace server, and everything will
be lost. Any attempt to save will result in:
"Unable to save the file Model.bim. Reason: The file cannot be saved because it is marked as readonly"
Some posted elsewhere about getting past this issue by un-setting the Model.bim file as read-only, or unsetting the entire project directory and it's contents as read-only,  but that has not worked on any workstation I have ran into this problem with.
I suspect this is only one of several ways to cause the issue - I know about this one, I try and avoid it, and I still run into problems occasionally.

    Hi K Dahl,
According to your decsription, you can't save the bim file and it throw the above error. Right?
In Analysis Services Tabular mode, this error occurs if the tabular designer has lost the connection to the workspace database server at some point during the editing session. However, there is a way to recover the work you did since the last save of the
model. Please refer to a blog below:
Recovering your model when you can’t save the BIM file
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

  • Users lose connection to Exchange.

    Hi
I have a Exchange 2007 on Windows 2003 environment with  about 9,000 users.
Lately I have been struggling with an issue and I need some help.
Some users lose their connectivity of Outlook to Exchange (outlook appears Offline), even though they have Network connection and normally to solve this, I disconnect the network cable and reconnect it. I just want to clarify if this is a network or Exchange
issue and also, how could I solve this.
    Thanks.

    1) If unplugging the network cable to the user's computer and plugging it back in again fixes the issue, it is probably not a, server issue.
    2) However, to test, can the user access OWA while their Outlook is unable to connect? If so, their mailbox is fine.
    3) How are you configuring Outlook to connect - RPC/TCP or RPC/HTTP (OutlookAnywhere)?  RPC/TCP will connect directly to the Mailbox server with Exchange 2007 and OutlookAnywhere will connect to the CAS server, so it is important to distinguish which
    connection you are troubleshooting.
    4) What is common about the group of users who lose connectivity? Same switch? Same Database? Connecting to same CAS (if OutlookAnywhere)?
    5) Do some basic network connectivity tests (ping, tracert, nslookup, etc) on the PC when in repro
    6) Collect and analyze a netmon capture during the issue.
    EDIT:
Also, from a client perspective - take a look at event logs.   Also, is AV installed and does the issue occur if you uninstall or disable it temporarily?

  • Outlook Mac Loses Connection to Exchange Server

    Hi All,
I've had this problem pretty since deployment a couple of weeks ago, so I'm hoping some one can point me in the right direction.  I'm running Exchange 2013 on a Server 2012 Standard box with the DC running on a different box, every thing up to date.
Mac clients running Outlook 2011 (14.4.2).
Periodically throughout the day, Outlook loses connection to Exchange server.  After several minutes, it will connect back up, and seems to operate normally.  During the down time, I am able to connect to OWA, and ActiveSync seems to work as well.
If I run the Remote Connectivity Analyzer while Outlook is responding, I get no errors and the "Connectivity Test Successful" message.  However, if I run it while Outlook is NOT responding, I get the following:
Exchange Web Services synchronization, notification, availability, and Automatic Replies.
Not all tests of Exchange Web Services tasks completed.

I've disable auto-discover on the client, manually adding accounts, tried using their FQDN, local IP, LAN IP.
I've made exceptions to the proxie on the client.
Just not sure where to look next?  Appreciate any advice out there.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
Before we go further, I'd like to confirm if your Outlook clients can work well when your Outlook MAC clients come across the issue.
If the issue only happens on your Outlook MAC clients, we can check the IIS log and confirm if there is any error releted to EWS. And you can recreate your EWS virtual directory to have a test.

  • EA 6500 losing connection

    Hi
Currently I have the ea 6500 and it seems to lose connection to my IPAD 3 often. I have setup the IPAD to connect to 5ghz connection and it will still lose connection. Is this an ongoing issue?  I also noticed that it signal stength isn't fully covering my home like my linksys wrt54g did. Is there a setting I should consider? I'm thinking of returning the router because of the issues

Before you return the router, you might try considering changing the wireless settings. You've not indicated the wireless settings here but I suggest you make the ssid(network name) is not the default for both 5GHz and 2.4GHz so you'll not be confuse of which network you're connected. For the wireless channel (5GHz); channel width, 40MHz and channel to 48, (2.4GHz); channel width 20MHz, channel to 9. Another thing, for the wireless security choose wpa2 personal, wireless password if okay to be the same.

Hi, I use my iphone4 (not iphone 4S) with ISO5 latest version. Since some weeks during calls I lose connection to provider and cannot reconnect to network. Restarting doen't help. After some hours the iphone get again connection not knowing what has happend. Losing connection happens while I'm on a fixed place (not travelling in a car or something similar) and making a call. It also happens at different places. Vodafone changed my SIM-card but it doen't help. I also backed-up and renewed the the iphone-software by using iTunes. The vodafone-support explained that with renewing the software a new software-patch will also be installed that should help. As you can imagine - I still have the problem! Who can help?
    Thanks for answering!

#1 Did the problem start occurring after any particular weather event?
    #2 What light turned/turns red?
#3 Do you have Voice service, and if so, do you have noise or static on the line while in a call that was never there before?

    3. I have tried different internal NICs (3com) but still had issue. I have upgraded BIOS, nic drivers. etc.
    4. I rebuilt one of the machines using Windows XP pro sp3 and have had no issue with that workstation.
the problem started a few months or so ago. I have not been able to determine the source. I tried running wireshark but nothing stuck out. I have changed the session settings on the IIS server from 15 minutes to 6 hours but did not make a difference.
    5. Today when client lost connectivity to the server I tried pinging from the server back to the client and the connection was restored. This issue really has me confused as I cannot find anything in the logs that sticks out.
