A centred page moves about when scroll bar appears DW Cs5?

Hi everybody, I have noticed that when you have web pages centred, that the pages annoyingly move about when a scroll bar appears. Some times a page is longer than the browser window and so a scroll bar appears on the right which allows the viewer to scroll down.
But what happens is, it then centres the page in the centre of the space that is left after the scroll bar appears so the page jilts from to side to side according to whether the page has a scroll bar, obviously this looks rubbish.
Is there any code that can make the browser centre the page in the same place, so that the scroll bar eats into the space on the right side rather than pushes the whole page over to the left. ?

Ideally, CSS code belongs in your external stylesheet file.
While you're testing site ideas, you could temporarilly add styles to your HTML pages like so:

Adobe Reader move the vertical scroll bar from left to right

is it possible to move the vertical scroll bar from left to right in Adobe Reader 9?

You see, I'm left handed and when I use the scroll bar that is on the right side with the left hand I don't actually see the content of the page, because my left hand is covering the screen (I'm browsing the internet in tablet mode and I use the pen to navigate between pages).
My system is a Tablet PC with Windows XP Tablet Edition 2005 and Adobe Reader 9.3.2.

Some large pages are displayed without scroll bars

I've had a number of cases recently when large pages are displayed without scroll bars. Safari handles these pages properly.

You may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not coming from one of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] and select ''Disable all add-ons''. If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. "Scroll Bar" appears when moving cursor - Satellite L305D-S5904

I just bought a Satellite L305D-S5904 for my mother.
It came with Windows Vista Home Premium.
I noticed that a tiny scroll bar appears at the cursor sometimes.
It makes navigation quite a pain.
Can you turn this feature off?
To clarify, when using the touchpad, moving the cursor, sometimes a tiny "scrollbar" appears at the point of the cursor's "arrow."
This is unbelievably aggrevating!

Maybe because you didnt work with such hi-tech touchpad??? ;) lol
This is a touchpad feature which can be disabled in touchpad properties.
Check you control panel-> mouse
There should be something about touchpad settings.
There you have to disable the Virtual scrolling.

Horizontal scroll bar vanished in CS5

Hi, I am learning the CS5 program and out of nowhere my horizontal scroll bar has disappeared. I notice that when I magnify from 100 to 150% then the scroll bar appears again, but I don't want to read my pages at 150%. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

Does this happen with all pages or just one?
What were you doing when the scrollbar vanished?
How big is your screen, are you using a dual display?
Have you tried closing DW and/or rebooting your computer?

The horizontal scroll bar appears in the middle on Safari.

Hello.
I have a problem of Ipad mini
A few user has the same prolem like me T.T when I checked other users is using Ipad mini or related Ipad series on web.
and I could not find solution for it,
The probelm is : the horizontal scroll bar position is changed as below image, the scroll bar appears in the middle on web page of Safari
after zoom the page out and moving.
How to fix this problem ?
I already did it with a few way to fix and it never fix in my side.
- Resotre factory mode : still happened.
- Turn off and on Ipad mini : still happened.
- Clear Cooke and data in safari setup.
If Clear cooke and data, it just disappeared on web surfing but this is only temporary way, I could meet the problem soon on web surfing.
Please help me to fix and share some information for it.

I am having the same issue. Went to the Apple Store in Boston and the Genius Bar escalated the problem to the Engineers and they could not even solve it. They needed me to send them an image of the issue. I went to another Apple store and the Genius there had much better problem solving skills. He used his own critical thinking and discovered that the horizontal scroll bar sits at the same height. The height is exactly where the split keyboard ends. If you take screen shots and compare...you will find they are all at the same height. He thinks since the keyboard is a new feature they havent worked out the problems yet...and we will have to wait for the update.
Ever since Steve Jobs has been gone the call to response for issues is getting increasing slower and slower. New products continue to roll out but they all have problems and bugs. Take Maps for instance...they still have not fixed all the issues (even with this 6.0.1 update). The Ipad mini I spend 700$ for and it is such a faulty product. For what I spent I would have thought I would have gotten a great product. I have all Apple products...phone, desktop, laptop, Ipad original, and Mini...but they have done me wrong over and over. It may take months for them to roll out the fix the way the compnay has been operating under Cook.
When will the fix come....I do not know... best of luck!

Horizontal Scroll Bar Appear?

How can I make a horizontal scroll bar appear so when the web page is resized the content wont moved around or get compacted? Example: http://www.techrepublic.com/ (resize thebrowser and youll notice that after a certain amount of resizing a horizontal scroll bar appears)
All my width values in my CSS are in percentages and when the page is shrunk the sontent gets compacted.

To stop scroll bars appearing around iView

Hello all,
I've placed a small iVIew in the tool area of the framework page, below the masthead, above the TLN; right beside the KM search iView.
The user has noticed that when he doesn't have IE fully maximized, if he makes the window small enough then scroll bars appear around this iView. However, scrollbars never appear around the KM search iView.
Is there a setting or parameter that I can set to say, 'Never put scrollbars around my iView'?
I've already made the tray invisible of course....
Any ideas?

I have the same problem. I am trying to use a URL iView at the very top of the site - over the masthead. I only want a 10px high iView that simply displays a bar across the top. This iView is not contained in a page, has all of it's properties set in a way that should eliminate any scroll bar activity, yet scroll bars appear regardless...
Automatic causes the iview to expand to approx. 200px high... no good.
Fixed causes scroll bars
Full page - well, makes this iview the full page - no good either.
Any suggestions? There is really no content in it other then an image to create a bar across the top of the site.

ITunes 10.5.0.142 prevents 'auto-hide' task bar reappearing on scroll-over at page bottom when ITunes home page is up. Task bar appears and hides fine on other windows. OS: Win 7.

Look, I'm not going to kill myself over it. I just have to minimize the IT page to get to another task bar.
But I like my auto-hide and won't disable it, and I like what's been done with the new version of IT and - of course - won't get rid of that. I just want them to live together happily ever after.

Published iWebsite pages turn red when scrolling pages in iWeb

Hi everyone,
Just wondering if I'm the only person who has this issue; when I publish my iweb sites and pages (to MobileMe) all goes well, but when I then scroll my page up and down in iWeb the site turns red again as if I have changed its content.
I've tried the usual stuff (deleted caches, prefs, logged into MM under a bogus username and password) to check if the problem is a MM issue but this also occurs when I publish to a folder...
I've repaired disk permissions and did a fresh install of OS X (10.6.7) two weeks ago.
Does anyone have any other suggestions which might solve this issue? Or perhaps even the same problem?

Although immediately posting to the discussions group says something about my personal opinion on the reliability of iWeb ... the problem was caused as you expected; the double digit finger action.
So 'no swiping in iWeb' I suppose.
The 'turning red' of published site pages was 100% reproducible by scrolling down using my trackpad, but it doesn't happen when I use my mighty mouse or the arrow buttons/scroll bar thing. (Even although nothing was selected in iWeb, bit of a bug if you'd ask me)

Pages load incorrectly - no scroll bar

I've been having a strange problem with Safari after upgrading to Leopard. Sometimes when I load or go back to previously loaded pages, the scroll bar disappears and I can't navigate to the entire page, even with the arrow keys. There seems to be no consistency.
I've reset Safari and trashed the preferences .plist to no avail.
Anyone else seen something similar -- any thoughts?

BTW, Apple--if you care to read about your user's problems--we seem to be non-intel (Power PC) Macs experiencing this.
Apple developers don't read these pages. This is just a forum for users like yourself to help other users. The only time I've ever seen an official Apple post has been when it's regarding something critical - such as an installer wiping your hard drive. (yes, it's happened...)
Make sure you all send feedback to Safari menu -> "Report Bugs to Apple..."

How do I get constraints to adjust when scroll bars are shown?

I've got the following page setup, with constraints that causes everything (datagrid, content grid, etc.) to grow and shrink when the user adjusts the size of the window.
Now, the problem is, if there are enough controls on the page to require vertical scrolling (e.g., if I resize the window, or change to another state that has more controls on the page), and it adds vertical scroll bars, the controls are not reduce in size, which means that some of them are now underneath the vertical scrollbar, which causes a horizontal scrollbar to appear. Like this:
Right now the constraint on all the controls is right="10", and what I want is for it to be 10 pixels from the right of the usable canvas--so if a scrollbar appears, it should be 10 pixels from the left edge of the scrollbar. If there is no scrollbar, it should be 10 pixels from the edge of the viewport.
This is the way the browser treats scrollbars. How do I get this behavior in Flex?

You could add a right padding to your controls to cause them to stay
away from the scrollbars, remember that scrollbars aren't taken into
account during controls layout.

When and How to get the Text.ScrollPos value of a String control when scroll bar position changed

Hi,
I'm working on a feature triggered by scroll bar position of a string control changed.
But I could not find a good way to catch the scroll bar position changed event,
the scroll bar is controlled manually by mouse down → mouse move → mouse up, I want the get the Text.ScrollPos value when user mouse up, and compare with the maximum value.
But the problem is, mouse up on the scroll bar could not trigger String: Mouse up event!
So I have to get the Text.ScrollPos continuously in the background in Timeout event, but I think it’s not efficient.
Do you have any better idea on when to get the correct destination value of Text.ScrollPos?
I plan to store the value of Text.ScrollPos in the bottom(maximum value) in a shift register, then compare the current Text.ScrollPos value with the max one.
If it comes close to the bottom(90%~100% of the maximum value), then the close to bottom LED will turn on.

I don't think there is any build-in event for this.
One solution would be to create your own user event at the initialisation of you main and launch a thread which is going to be pulling the value of your scrollbar position:
Then you can build your main as if they were a scrollbar move event.
And dont forget to close the thread and destroy the event at the end.

TableView scrolling even when scroll bar is in the middle

If we have a table that has events being inserted into it constantly when I move the scrollbar half way down the table keeps scrolling so I can't fix
it on a certain row that I want to look at.

Skillbuilders Modal Page (2.0.0) - Scroll bar issue

I am using this plugin and I am having an issue.
My requirement is to open a page from a link. I am able to do the same but I want the pop to be of specific width and height with scroll bar for height but not for width.
Is there any way to do the same?
As of now I can see that we can either turn both scroll bars on or both off.
Please suggest that how can the same be achieved.

It's true, the one option controls both horizontal and vertical scrolling. This is due to the fact that the underlying plug-in uses one option for both.
Have you tried just constraining the width of your modal page so that it's not as wide?
