A sample question about parameter passing between portlets

How can I pass parameter between portlets in one page using pdk API. Please give a demo. Thx

In one portlet I send parameter using form: actionn="<%= UrlUtils.htmlFormActionLink(prr, UrlUtils.PAGE_LINK) %>"
<input type="text" size="20" name="textname" value="">...
Then I want to receive the parameter in another portlet. My code is:PortletRenderRequest prr = (PortletRenderRequest)
request.getAttribute(HttpCommonConstants.PORTLET_RENDER_REQUEST);
out.println( prr.getParameter("textname") );
But why I can't receive the parameter successfully.

I'm trying to get a parameter pass between two portlets on the same page, I've looked at the PDK samples but have not been able to get either working, I'm on 9iAS R2 (9.0.2.0.1.). I've installed the PDK and loaded up the various samples. Any information or guidance appreciated. In a nut shell I'd ideally like to pass a parameter from a report (java or pl/sql) in one portlet to a portlet next to it on the same page which can then run a second report (java or pl/sql).

We have an omniportlet that displays a graph, we want the user to be able to pick a value from this graph and pass it as a parameter to another page containing another omniportlet which would select values based on the parameter value.

The Question about stock transfer between HU-Management and WM-Management

Hi,
There is a scenario about stock transfer between HU-Management and WM-Management storage location. I use transaction MB1B , movement type 313 , 315. After Good issue from WM-management storage location, outbound delivery will genarated, then Pack, Create/Confirm TO, at last post goods issue for the outboud delivery. But when i do movement type 315, there is a warning message "Data of preceding document was not transmitted", and from the F1 help i find this system reponse "You can maintain an indicator that makes information about preceding documents in this delivery available under delivery type in Customizing. For some characteristics of this indicator, the type of preceding document and the related document and item numbers must be transmitted to delivery creation. At least one of these parameters is missing.".
So, My questions are:
1. Generallily, Outbound delivery is created by SO, inbound delivery is created referenc PO, but how the stock transfer for 2 steps generate the outbould delivery and inbound delivery? Could you pls tell me the where i can config this in the IMG?
2. What's "Data of preceding document was not transmitted" mean ? how to fix this issue ?

Question About Sharing Apps Between My iPhone and My Wife's iPhone

Hi, I have a question about downloading apps to my iPhone.
I ordered two iPhone 3g's - one for my wife and one for me, and I've discovered that when I download an app (even free ones) on my iPhone and then later sync it to iTunes, my wife cannot put it on her phone. However if I download it on iTunes on my computer and later sync it to my phone, then my wife is able to sync it to her phone as well. It's no big deal when they are free because she can just go get it if she wants it. I haven't purchased any apps yet, but is there a way to be able to give my wife apps that I purchase on my iPhone? Or do I need to purchase all of my [pay] apps and songs on iTunes on my computer to ensure we both have access? Or do I have it all wrong completely LOL?? This rights management stuff is confusing.

I had my iTunes account and phone before I got my wife's hers. When I first started, I synced hers from her account on my computer brought in my libraries and authorized her phone as one of the 5 allowed. She had all purchased apps and music. Over time we each bought music or apps on our seperate accouts. Of course, we told each other about cool apps or music we bought and wanted on our phone. When I went to sync iTunes was going to delete all music and apps and sync with the library I was logged into. Didn't want that, only work around I have found is to copy new music or new apps from one library to the other. Updating on the phone is also difficult because you can't switch between accounts so updates have to be done at the computer for apps bought under different accounts. I am sure there is a better way to do this and ask for an insight anyone would have. I hope it works out.

I'm a new bie of BIEE. In these days, have a look about BIEE architecture and the BIEE components. In the next project, there are some work about BIEE development based on EBS application. I have some questions about the integration :
1) generally, is the BIEE database and application server decentralized with EBS database and application? Both BIEE 10g and 11g version can be integrated with EBS R12?
2) In BIEE administrator tool, the first step is to create physical tables. if the source appliation is EBS, is it still needed to create the physical tables?
3) if the physical tables creation is needed, how to complete the data transfer from the EBS source tables to BIEE physical tables? which ETL tool is prefer for most developers? warehouse builder or Oracle Data Integration?
4) During data transfer phase, if there are many many large volume data needs to transfer, how to keep the completeness? for example, it needs to transfer 1 million rows from source database to BIEE physical tables, when 50%is completed, the users try to open the BIEE report, can they see the new 50% data on the reports? is there some transaction control in ETL phase?
could anyone give some guide for me? I'm very appreciated if you can also give any other information.

Both 10g & 11g comes with different versions of BI apps which supports sources like Siebel CRM, EBS, Peoplesoft, JD Edwards etc..

This is OBIEE modeling to create RPD with all the layers. If you build it from scratch then you will require to create all the layers else if BI Apps is used then you will get pre-built RPD along with other pre-built components.
3) if the physical tables creation is needed, how to complete the data transfer from the EBS source tables to BIEE physical tables? which ETL tool is prefer for most developers? warehouse builder or Oracle Data Integration?BI apps comes with pre-built ETL mapping to use with the tools majorly with Informatica. Simple question about using passing parameters in a procedure

I have a below stored procedure (part of a package) that I need to modify by removing hard coded declaration of "cutoffdays" and change it into a parameter passed from procedure. I am not sure how to do declare and pass values for delete from a table.

but there are one error and three Warns.

Parameter Passing between pages- process not picking up on changes

Hello, new user, this is a different question than before.
I have a drop-down list box on Page 1, upon which the user can choose a study number. The List Box is named "P1_STUDY_NBR".
Then I have a list, one entry of which goes to my master-detail form, which is Page 6. I would like it to go to the study number that the user choose on Page 1.
In my target on the create/edit list entry, I put in "Page in this Application", "Page 6", then in Set these items, I put in
P6_STUDY_NBR
My question is what to use in With these values, where I want the contents of the P1_STUDY_NBR. I tried:
&P1_STUDY_NBR.
Now I've got it passing to the master detail form, but it passes whatever was the first value! i.e, if I set the default of the drop-down list box to 336-00, then it opens the form with 336-00, and if I set the default on the drop-down list to 005-07, then it opens to 005-07.
However, if I change the value in the drop-down list box to something else, then press the link in the list to go to the page, then it doesn't pass the new value like I want (it passes whatever was the default value).
Is there something that accepts the new value into the variable upon the change in that drop-down list box that I need to add to my processes, or why won't it use the new value as the parameter?

I'd recommend (re)reading "Understanding Page Processing and Page Rendering" in the Users Guide and then redesigning your page. The problem is that you change the study number list selection in the browser but the change never gets processed because a navigation list link doesn't submit the form, it only navigates away from it.
You could try making the study number list type "Select List with Redirect" which processes the change so that the new selection value gets set to the session state and then returns to the same page.

Question about main difference between Java bean and Java class in JSP

I am new to Java Bean and wonder what is the main difference to use a Bean or an Object in the jsp. I have search on the forum and find some post also asking the question but still answer my doubt. Indeed, what is the real advantage of using bean in jsp.
Let me give an example to illustrate my question:

I have been searching on this issue on the internet for a long time and most of them just say someting like "persistance of state", "bean follow some conventions of naming", "bean must implement ser" and so on. All of above can be solved by other means, for example, a normal class can also follow the convention. I am really get confused with it, and really want to know what is the main point(s) of using the java bean.

It also allows you to use your objects in more varied cases - for example, JSTL (the standard tag libraries) and EL (expression language) only work with JavaBeans (objects that follow the JavaBeans conventions) because they expect objects to have the no-arg constuctor, and properties accessed/changed via getXXX and setXXX methods.

In the webpart you can add the code like "Response.Redirect("Page2.aspx?CustomerID=326");"
Once you develop the webparts, add them to the respective pages based on your required functionality.

Question about the difference between HDDs and SSDs

Hi. I currently have a MacBook (Black one) that's overheating a lot for the past few months. I'm thinking about purchasing a MacBook Pro for school because it seems to be more stable. I have a question though. What is the difference between HDDs and SSDs? Which one is better? All I know is that with my MacBook and my iBook is that I had hard drive failures (iBook hard drive clicking, MacBook hard drive sounding loud and making my computer overheat). Are hard drive failures normal with Macs?

Question about creating association between Sharepoint BDC entities using Visual Studio 2010

I am getting the following error:
There is an error in the TypeDescriptors of Parameters on Method with Name 'CustomerToOrder' on Entity (External Content Type) with Name 'Customer' in Namespace 'BdcAssociationSample.BdcModel1'. The TypeDescriptors incompletely define where the Foreign
Identifiers of Entity 'Order' in Namespace 'BdcAssociationSample.BdcModel1' are to be read. That Entity expects exactly '1' Identifiers, but only '0' TypeDescriptors with the correct Association were found from which to read them.

According to your post, my understanding is that you got the symbols not loaded error.
First try rebuilding your project by right mouse click the project > Rebuild If that doesn't work, try a clean of the project (right mouse click on the project > clean)
If that didn't work check this:
Right mouse click your project
select [Properties]
select the [Build] tab
make sure [Define DEBUG constant] and [Define TRACE constant] are checked
Click the [Advanced] button at the bottom of the Build tabpage
Make sure that [Debug Info:] is set to [full]
Click [OK] and rebuild the project ;
Hope that works for you! (step 6 generates the .pdb files, these are the debugging symbols)
What’s more, you can clean & re-compile the code, then install the respective dlls one more time to GAC (just remove them before adding to GAC again), do an IISReset to check whether it works.

SharePoint 2013 Query string parameter pass between visual webparts

Hi,
I have created one web part called Latest News in SharePoint 2013 which is
visual web part(Sandbox Solution).
In that, there is button called "Read More". Now when I click on that button I want to show only that item in the new page which is clicked using query string. but the data which will be shown after Read More button will be coming
from a different Visual Web Part.
How should I pass a query string value from one visual webpart to another visual webpart in SharePoint 2013 ?

Question about Hz difference between MacBook Pro and iMac?

Some will think I'm crazy for saying this, but my new MacBook is driving me nuts.
In a nutshell, I have tinnitus as a result of an accident some years ago. I can hear an intermittent high pitch sound coming from the back left of the machine. I used to hear a similar sound from old TVs back when I first got tinnitus. After some deduction I realised that it was to do (I think) with the fequency. I sold my old TV and brought a new one that was a 100Hz. My theory was somewhat confirmed when they delivered it and it was the 50Hz version and yes, the high pitch sound was very evident! Upon receipt of the 100Hz model and I immediately noticed the difference.
I'm guessing then that the MacBook has something inside emitting 50-60Hz - someone on this forum mentioned that too.
Although I want the portability, I can't stand that sound all day long, so I'm thinking of taking it back and swapping it for an iMac.
The question is, will I find the same problem? I'm not sure of the technical specifications in terms of Hz's between the two machines.
It's too noisy in the shop to tell.
Any advice appreciated.
PS - did not have this issue with my 2008 MacBook pro.
PPS - makes no difference if it's plugged in or not.

Isolating the source of the high frequency would take a technician with the instruments to deteermine what components emit sound...actually very easy to do with the proper test instruments, but essential to tell you what is causing the offending sound. Unless you know that it will be very hard to determine if the iMac will not do the same thing.
Only qualitative way to find out is go to an Apple store or reseller with a good selection of hardware, work with the different hardware and see if it bothers you. Preferably with few people around and low background noise level so the sound isn't masked.

Questions about the differences between Arch and Chakra.

I'm trying to decide whether to install Arch or Chakra on my laptop. Currently, I'm running Arch on my desktop and Windows 7 on my laptop (which I plan to overwrite). My skill level with GNU/Linux is somewhat intermediate – noobs refer to me as an expert, experts refer to me as a noob. If it matters, I'm a KDE user and primarily use my computers for web browsing and python development. Anyway, I just wanted to get an objective opinion on the differences between Arch and Chakra. I have a few points that stand out to me, but I welcome any input.
-Stability
I started my journey into GNU/Linux with Debian back in 2009 due to it's stability. I really disliked Debian's ancient software and considered moving my system to Unstable. While doing some googling about Debian Unstable, I stumbled across Arch – it was love at first sight. I've been an Arch user ever since. I love the bleeding edge software, and haven't had any major problems since I originally installed it. However, every time I run a system update I cringe a little. While Arch hasn't broken on me yet, I've read plenty of horror stories and it makes me uneasy. I understand that Chakra is a mix between a point and rolling release model. Is it any more or less stable than Arch? I know there are other distrobutions out there, but I'm in love with the Arch philosophy.

Pretty self-explanatory, but is there any difference in security between the two?

As much as I love Arch, I wouldn't be able to stand it if it weren't for the massive collection of software available in the AUR. While I'm perfectly capable of compiling software myself, I prefer to use a command like tool like yaourt to manage my software. I understand that Chakra doesn't officially support the AUR and that they have their own user repository. Seeing as Chakra is still relatively new, is it lacking? Will I miss the AUR as a Chakra user?

My take on Chakra is that it's the same as Arch with different developers. They use pacman. They have a different and rather nice build system for their developers. They're doing a good job, but I'd hate to give up the services of Allan McRae who must work full time keeping the Archlinux core and toolchain up to date. As for "semi" rolling: I don't see Chakra as having a stable core. A stable core sounds attractive, it would be like NetBSD which has a very stable core Unix operating system with apps added via pkgsrc. But Chakra's core and toolchain is at the same version levels as Archlinux most of the time and are no more tested and stabilized than ours. Their core packages are updated piecemeal just like ours; there is no stable core that is released as a unit (afaik). Today Chakra has gcc 4.7 / glibc 2.15 just like ours. Their kernel is a little more stable: they're using udev 181 / linux 3.2.8 while Arch is on udev 182 / linux 3.3.7. They are more conservative in upgrading xorg and the video drivers than Arch. For example, today they're on xorg-server 1.10.4 / intel video 2.17 while Arch is up-to-the-bleeding-edge-minute with xorg-server 1.12.1.902 and intel video 2.19. Yeah, I would consider Chakra to be a little more "stable" than Arch mainly because of their relaxed pace in changing the kernel and the xorg stuff.
Most of the patches that I look at for Arch packages (I build my system entirely from source and try to build monthly releases for myself) are needed because we use more recent core packages like glib2/glibc/gcc than the developers of higher level stuff like qt. The Chakra CCR is compatible with the Arch AUR and mainly draws from AUR (an AUR buildscript will usually work fine on a Chakra system -- they just add one or two additional info fields.) With a little effort you could get any package installed on a Chakra system that is available on Arch.
