A Simple Tutorial?

I am using Visual Basic 2010 with a SQL Server Express database and have installed the Crystal Reports from SAP.
While I can get the Report1.rdlc in my project, I can go no further.  I have searched this site and  every other source I can think of but can't find a simple tutorial that I can use to get started and use as a base for expanding my use of the program,
Can anyone point me in the right direction.

Hi,
Try below steps :-
- Create a sample web application in VS 2010.
- Add a crystal report to your app.
- Double click on the CrystalReport.rpt, it will open the report in the bundled crystal designer.
- Design the report using the 'Database Expert'
- Preview the report see if it works fine.
- Drag a Crystal Report Viewer control onto your design page.
Add below code to your application.
using CrystalDecisions.Shared;
using CrystalDecisions.Web;
public partial class _Default : System.Web.UI.Page
    protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
        ReportDocument rd = new ReportDocument();
       rd.Load(Server.MapPath("Report1.rpt"));
        CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = rd;
More sample applications are [here|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/samples?rid=/webcontent/uuid/80774579-b086-2b10-db91-ed58c4dda375]
Hope this helps,
Bhushan.

  • IPhone/iPad simple tutorial?

    I may have to start doing some Flash development for iPad and am curious if anyone has a simple tutorial that involves nothing more than simply displaying something on screen. I'm just looking for details on the packaging / transfer to iPad portion.
    Thanks

    hi dave,
    this is the forum for flash/iphone/ipad stuff:  http://forums.adobe.com/community/labs/packagerforiphone/
    i can help you if you're using an unofficial apple developer license.  if you have a real one, you'll need to check a tutorial on how to use that to get your provisioning and certificate files.

  • Looking for a simple tutorial

    where i can find a simple and essential tutorial? I would like to have only examples for each basic argoument, too
    thx

    You can start with the PL/SQL Users guide from the documentation. It includes good examples too.

  • Simple Tutorial that works?

    Does anyone know of a tutorial that walks throught the creation of a simple flash piece and published to an android device? Nothing I have found does this, and I cannot get past this damned parse error that a few people on here also have - and also don't have a resolution for. This is really frustrating. I would expect Adobe could write a tutorial given they created the packager, but lo and behold one does not exist.

    A couple that helped me get started:
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flexsdk_hero/samples/ (first tutorial listed)
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/articles/employee-directory-android-flex.html
    Not a tutorial, but definitely gave me a great general overview:

  • Error in simple Tutorial? With(object) gives undifined..

    Hello, I got this from an tutorial, but when i run this
    the
    trace(person1.address.street);
    gives undifined ? How come this is undifined and
    trace(person1.address.test);
    is not? ..looks like the With( ...) does not work?
    here is the script:
    person1 = new Object();
    person1.address = new Object();
    person1.address.test = "hello";
    with(person1.address) {
    street = "123 Main Street";
    city = "Boston";
    state = "MA";
    zip = "02114"; }
    trace(person1.address.street);
    trace(person1.address.test);

  • Stocking in a simple tutorial

    i just created a car , and set keyframes at 25 and 35 ..
    tween is motion.. i want that it fade out.. another car fades in at
    the same time.. how can i do that.. tried the help but dont find
    any help
    flashmx_tutorials.pdf but iam using cs3 as the company i work
    for parttime dont have mx
    really need some help

    1) Make sure that your car is an object, either a Graphic or
    Movie Clip, in all the keyframes. Tweens won't work on a shape,
    bitmap or Group. If it isn't an object, then click on it, hit the
    F8 key, and turn it into either a Graphic or Movie Clip. Then copy
    and paste that same object into the other keyframes.
    2) Make sure that the car is the ONLY object on that layer.
    If you have a car and several other things on the stage, all within
    the same layer, the tween won't work. If it is not the only thing
    on that layer, then move it to another layer.

  • Simple introduction/tutorial on how to make Cocoa-Applescript Applets?

    I'm looking for a simple tutorial on how to make Cocoa-Applescript Applets.  I'm pretty new to Applescript, but fairly good at it, and I was wondering how Cocoa-Applescript Applets worked.  I was curious as I've been wondering if it was possible to somehow display images in Applescript, and it apparently is the only/easiest way.  My problem is that I haven't been able to find any tutorials on using it, so I was wondering if you guys could point me in the right direction, that'd be great!
    thanks in advance

    The main difference is with how the Cocoa APIs are used - in addition to the AppleScript and AppleScriptObjC release notes, there are some examples and resources at Mac OS X Automation.  Note that in Yosemite, AppleScriptObjC is available to all scripts, not just applets and libraries.

  • Simple flash web form tutorial

    Can anyone point me at a simple tutorial for building flash
    forms for a web site (e.g. a contact us form).
    I've been searching the web and support here for a few hours
    and every path I've gone down has had a hang-up (e.g. component
    parameters missing in my Flash version -- MX) or just doesn't work.
    I'm 90% there in one version, but the input text data is
    being passed as "_level0.name" instead of the data entered in the
    "name" input field.
    thx a bunch!

    Hi there,
    I'm working on putting together a graphic portfolio website. The main navigation will come from a fixed-position menu overlay.

  • Error while running simple JAXB test class

    I am new to JAXB and trying to run simple tutorial code.
    I created Java project and added required jar files in a classpath.
    But I get error as
    "com.jaxbtest" doesnt contain ObjectFactory.class or jaxb.index
    I am using Eclipse and I have added these external jars in build path as well as in "Open Run Dialog" classpath.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Timo,
    Im using JDev version 11.1.1.6.0.
    I checked the class path on the jdev console. All the library references are mentioned in the manifest.mf classpath of the test project like below:
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Class-Path: lib/identitystore.jar
    lib/adfm.jar
    lib/groovy-all-1.6.3.jar
    lib/adftransactionsdt.jar
    lib/adf-dt-at-rt.jar
    lib/adfdt_common.jar
    lib/adflibrary.jar
    lib/xmlparserv2.jar
    lib/db-ca.jar
    lib/jdev-cm.jar
    lib/ojmisc.jar
    lib/commons-el.jar
    lib/jsp-el-api.jar
    etc...
    So I expect the library references should be resolved looking at the manifest file.
    Another set of entries that I see in the jdev classpath are related to the Model project which is under test.
    -classpath
    D:\CurrentProject_1\16_7_2013_3pm\11_7_2013\.adf;
    D:\CurrentProject_1\16_7_2013_3pm\11_7_2013\Model\classes;
    How do I put these entries into my class path? Will it be sufficient if I add the Model.jar into my test project classpath?
    Thanks,
