Abap class in portal application?

hi all,
I know how to call rfc function modules from portal applications. but as you all know ABAP is now a days written using classes and methods(Object Oriented), I would like to know how to access this classes and methods from a portal application.
please help me in this regard as my client has urgent need for this. is it mandatory to write an RFC enabled BAPI as a wrapper to the ABAP class.
Rgds

Hi Yogi,
if you want to access BAPIs, you can do that by using JCA or if you are using EP6 SP2 JCo.
There are JCA&JCo Code samples under the download section available.

  • Calling ABAP class methods from JAVA application

    Hi All,
I want to fetch ITS related information (SITSPMON Tcode) in my JAVA application. But i didnt find much BAPIs for the same. While debugging I came accross few class methods with help of which I can get the required information. So is there any way we can call and execute methods of ABAP classes through java application?
for e.g. I want to call GET_VERSION method of CL_ITSP_UTIL class.
    Thanks,
    Arati.

    Hi,
Yes, as per my knowledge the only way to interact is using BAPI exposed as RFCs. So try to invoke those class methods in one CUSTOM BAPI and expose that BAPI as RFC and consume that RFC to get those details.

  • ASUG Presentation - April 2007 - Do you have the ABAP Classes presentation?

    Hi all,
does anyone have a copy of the ASUG presentation that supported the session:

Can you please send it to [email protected]

    Hi there
In Captivate, try opening the preferences by pressing Shift+F8 and navigating to the Project > Start and End and clearing the Auto Play option. Re-publish and re-insert into the PowerPoint and see if that helps.

  • Debugging the MODIFY_CLASS ABAP Class

Hi, I created a class to modify the contents of a cell and I'm not too familiar with the methods.  So I overrode the methods and added a break point.
How do I get to debug this ABAP Class when the application is executed on the web?
    Thanks!

You need to turn on External Debugging:
Assuming you are in your class (SE24) > Utilities > Settings > ABAP Editor Tab > Debugging Sub-Tag > Check the box to activate External Debugging. Your user ID should be in the user box.
Now when you execute the application on the web, it brings you to the debug mode when you hit the breakpoint.
    Hope this helps...

  • Calling Portal event from ABAP class

    Hi Experts,
I need a following clarificatrion, Please help,
    1. Is it possible to call a webdynpro method from a normal ABAP class?
    2. If no, we need a functionality of a class 'CL_WDR_HTTP_EXT_MIME_HANDLER' having method 'DO_DOMAIN_RELAX_HTML'.
Is there any alternative method which can be used in ABAP having the same functionality.
    3. Is there any ways with which we can call portal event from ABAP class?
    Thanks,
    Shabir

    >1. Is it possible to call a webdynpro method from a normal ABAP class?
I wouldn't necessarily recommend this approach. You shouldn't try to trigger events or any of the standard WDDO* methods from outside the WD Component itself.  That said, you can pass the object reference (like the WD_COMP_CONTROLLER object reference or the View Object Reference) into methods of normal classes.  Be careful if you are finding yourself calling a lot of your added methods from outside WD.  This is probably a sign that these methods should be in the Assistance Class or some other Class functioning as a Model Object.
    >2. If no, we need a functionality of a class 'CL_WDR_HTTP_EXT_MIME_HANDLER' having method 'DO_DOMAIN_RELAX_HTML'.
Is there any alternative method which can be used in ABAP having the same functionality.
What exactly do you want to do here?  Do you just want to get the relaxation script?  For what purpose?  You should never need to inject the relaxation script into WDA.
    >3. Is there any ways with which we can call portal event from ABAP class?
To what purpose.  Do you just want to delegate the triggering of the event that is inside WD Component to be called from a class?  If so you can pass the portal API object reference into a class from the WD Component.  However this only works while running within WD.
How is this class used?  Are you running in WD?  Are you trying to generate some HTML code that runs in the portal independent of WD?

  • Java class reference error in Portal Application

    Hello,
I have created a Portal Application Project with the Class
"public class TEST extends AbstractTestComponent implements ITestable"
in order to test the application.
The test works fine with a simple code.
Instead, using the external class HSSFWorkbook in order to create an excel file, the Enterprise Portal Unit Test return the following error:
    "java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/poi/hssf/usermodel/HSSFWorkbook"
I have tried to put the ZIP file of class into the folder "dist/PORTAL-INF/lib" and "dist/PORTAL-INF/exlib" but it doesn't work.
Can someone tell me what I have to do?
    Thanks and best regards,
    Matteo.

    Hi,
note that a portal application has two classloaders. one for the public part (src.api) and one for the private one (src.core).
portal components reside in src.core by default. this means you need to load your jar file to the private class loader.
so instead of dist/PORTAL-INF/lib use dist/PORTAL-INF/private/lib

  • Deploying  ABAP Web Dyn Pro application in a portal iView

    Hello,
Our goal is to Deploy Web Dyn Pro application to public internet user and at the same time we want to keep the ABAP Web Application server that host Web ABAP  Dyn Pro application behind the firewall so that no one can directly access the ABAP WAS over the internet. To do this we are planning to deploy the ABAP Web Dyn Pro application with in a portal iView where the portal server has anonymous access to the internet user.
The question is when we embed the ABAP Web Dyn Pro in a portal iView, does the web browser directly talk to the ABAP WAS?  If so, is there any other method where we could keep the ABAP WAS secure and give the public access to ABAP Web Dyn Pro application.
    Thanks,
    Vimalan

    Hi Vimalan,
<b>I'm assuming you use some kind of a reverse proxy in front of the portal server</b>.
    Here how it goes:
    1. Create a WD ABAP AppIntegrator iView in the portal.
    2. The iView will use a system that holds the ABAP server details (host:port and protocol)
    3. The system will be configured to have the host:port and protocol of the reverse proxy server.
    4. On the reverse proxy server, create a rule that will forward all URLs with the template of <i>/sap/bc/webdynpro/</i> to the real host:port and protocol of the ABAP server. This way you achieve what you intend to do.
    Hope this helps,
    Natty

  • How to auto refresh planning application -- using ABAP Class?

    Hi
I have written few planning functions and attached them in one single planning sequence. One of the planning function in this sequence is de-activate data slice checkmark in planning modeler. If I execute this planning function indiviually then it works great however when I use this function in sequence then second function in row doesnot identify changes made by first function(data slice inactivate) and thus throws errors.
At the same time, if I refresh my planning session and re-execute the planning sequence then it does works as REFRESH activates the changes done by first function (de-activate data slice).
I am wondering if there is any ABAP class that can trigger this auto refresh in background else some other method to do this auto refresh ?
Please let me know if you have any thoughts on this one.
    Thanks and happy holidays
    Al
Edited by: Al Gon on Dec 21, 2007 3:56 AM

    Hi Al,
The planning fn to deactivate was ineffective in a sequence was because the sequence which executes the functions does it on the data in the buffer and not actually on saved data, while your deactivation would work on the data after its saved.
You could perhaps run that function separately from the others in the sequence and save the data first and then perform your "deactivation" function.
    Merry Christmas

  • Shooping cart creation in SRM 7.0 using web dynpro ABAP classes.

    Hi,
We have recently upgraded to SRM 7.0 from SRM 4.0. We are using customized portal application for the creation of the shopping cart.I am planning to create custom FM which will use the standard Web dynpro ABAP classes to create the shopping cart.
Could you please guide with the classes that are need to be implemented and the sequence of the classes used in the shopping cart creation.
I think these are the classes that are used in the standard web dynpro ABAP component.
CL_FPM_EVENT ->                  Creates an instance of this class based on an event ID.
CL_BADI_FLT_DATA_TRANS_AND_DB -> Data Handling: Transport and Database.
CL_EXITHANDLER ->               Class for Ext. Services Within Framework of Exit Technique.
    CL_EX_BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI ->     BAdI Class CL_EX_BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI.
CL_BBP_OBJECTS_ACCESS ->         Access Functions for Object Types.
    /SAPSRM/CL_PDO_BO_SC ->          Shopping Cart BO.
Your expert comments will be appreciated...

  • Calling portal application via it 's url from R/3 (with authentication)?

    Hello,
how to call portal application by its url from R/3 (using ABAP)? How to avoid authentication screen?
    Best regards,
    Josef Motl

<i>What I want is to call portal application on background (not to call browser).</i>
you can use CL_HTTP_CLIENT class or HTTP_GET or HTTP_POST function modules for the same. (but you need to pass the user id /pwd in the program) (ITS doesnt fit your case)
    check out the demo programs.
    for CL_HTTP_CLIENT
    RSHTTP01
    HTTP_GET/POST

  • Abap classes in NW 2004s

    Hi everybody!
We have just migrated or BiW 3.1 to 7.0 (NW 2004s). For 3.1 version, we created some templates with Web Application Designer. These templates were formatted either by using stylesheets (ccs) or ABAP classes depending on the necessities. Now we are trying to create templates with the version 7.0 but the ABAP classes we used to use are not working.
    My questions are:
Are not ABAP classes working anymore? Does anybody know how to deal with it? Which is the proper way to implement this issue in the new version?
    Greetings from Spain.

Table classes has been removed from BI 7.
    Look at Faq-
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/cea68c65-0901-0010-f5a4-fd34189d8078
The BEx Web Design API for Tables (table interface) and related customized ABAP coding that was available within the ABAP Web runtime is not available in the Java Web runtime. The enhanced standard capabilities should dramatically reduce the need for customer-specific coding. However, in order to ensure that customers can still benefit from the BEx Web Design API for Tables (table interface), we continue to ship the ABAP Web runtime as a fully supported runtime stack, in addition to the Java Web runtime.
In some cases, you may want to combine the benefits of the new Java Web runtime with the advantages of customizable coding, and it would be useful to have a customized coding option in the Java Web runtime.
Therefore, in the next major SAP NetWeaver Release after SAP NetWeaver 2004s, SAP will provide a Java-based interface that can offer additional flexibility for customized coding.

    Hope it Helps

  • Portal application connecting backend SAP R/3 system

    Hi All,
I am developing one portal application through NWDS. It's JSPDYNPage component. The applications functionality is basicaly is to connect it to backend SAP R/3 system & fetch some data in aparticular table & display that data in a tableview format on one JSP& also when i click any row of the tableview then details of that row should get displayed on the next JSP. So i reached till develpoing a code that connnects to Backend SAP R/3.(Basicaly coding of connection part is done). Now i need to test this code, to check whether it is fine or not? NWDS doesnt give nay error, not compile also or not runtime error also. It simply shows the output as a blank page, where it is supposed to display one line of text in textview(i coded this in my JSP).But as i said it displays a blank page. i tried to debug the application , but debugging also not worked.I performed the debugging twice in right way. The code was not debugged, it run the same way as it normally runs when debugging is off & shown the blank page. I also have done all the the settings or prerequisites for debugging properly. I am stuck at this point now.search many documents , but no relevant help has been received.
