Abnormal behavior for java plugin 1.3.0 and 1.3.1

Hi,
I've developed a java applet which renders svg images. I am working in a constrained environment where both java plugin 1.3.0_02 and java plugin 1.3.1_02 are installed.
the code for the embedded applet in html,
<object classid="clsid:8AD9C840-044E-11D1-B3E9-00805F499D93"
WIDTH =" 600" HEIGHT =" 700">
<param NAME = CODE VALUE ="MyViewerApplet.class" >
<param NAME = ARCHIVE VALUE ="required.jar" >
<param NAME="type" VALUE="application/x-java-applet;version=1.3">
<param NAME="IMAGES" VALUE="http://localhost:8889/images/">
<param NAME="HOMESVG" VALUE="http://localhost:8889/mysvg.svg">
<COMMENT>
<embed type="application/x-java-applet;version=1.3"
java_CODE ="MyViewerApplet.class"
java_ARCHIVE ="required.jar"
WIDTH =" 600"
HEIGHT =" 700"
pluginspage="http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/1.3/plugin-install.html"
IMAGES="http://localhost:8889/images/">
HOMESVG="http://localhost:8889/mysvg.svg">
<noembed></noembed></embed>
</COMMENT>
</object>
One note about the applet, the applet's loads RenderingCanvas.class from required.jar.
Now when i open Internet Explorer , it loads the 1.3.0 plugin and when i open Netscape Navigator it loads the 1.3.1 plugin !!!.
Well thats not the biggest problem. The applet works correctly in Netscape Navigator. However, the java plugin 1.3.0 in internet explorer complains -> NoClassDefFoundError org.xxx.yyy.RenderingCanvas (Note: it doesn't say ClassNotFoundException).
Another thing, why does the plugin call the applet's INIT and START methods before the jar archive has even been loaded(thats what the output shows). Wouldnt the plugin always complain that the file was not found since the jar archive has not been loaded.
Although my description does seem a bit vague, does anyone have an idea why this could be ?
Thanks in advance.

If so, this is normal. Java (or at least common Java implementations) load classes as needed. This means that MyViewerApplet should run fine until it encounters a class which is in required.jar, at which time it will have to wait for the loading to complete. If you want it all to load before anything starts, put MyViewerApplet.class in the jar as well.

    Is there a way to auto-install the Java Runtime and plugin for Mac browsers like Internet Explorer and Netscape?
    Do the <object classid...> tags work on Macs too?

  • The behavior for blocking plugin pop-up

    Good day.
    I receive pop-up 'Java Deployment Toolkit (click-to-play) ' in the top of the web-page when I login to my site http://clip2net.com/clip/m0/1379329015-clip-33kb.png
    When I click to any application from menu (see screen, application like 'Admin', 'Alarms' and so on), I have my menu bar redrawn out of place: http://clip2net.com/clip/m0/1379329358-clip-41kb.png
    If I activate this plugin, this pop-up will disappear and menu bar will be at the top of the page.
    The question is about redrawing of my menu bar: canyou please provide some comments about this situation? How not to get my menu bar redrawn because of this pop-up?
    upd: The investigation has provided the following information: Firefox adds div section with this message to the top of the page... But it is interesting that only menu bar is redrawn...

    I am unsure what is causing the issue.
    It is most likely just an issue in the CSS programming for that website.
    I hope you are able to find the issue soon.
    Please report back soon.

  • [SSRS] Abnormal behavior for parameter usage in checking case within query of dataset

    Details :
    Following error is displayed when I preview a report (SUR_EXPLORER-NG.rdl) in Microsoft Visual Studio:
    “An error occurred during local report processing.
    An error has occurred during local report processing.
    Cannot set the command text for dataset 'GET_FDA_CONFIG_ID'.
    Error during processing of the CommandText expression of dataset 'GET_FDA_CONFIG_ID'.”
    Following is the query set in dataset 'GET_FDA_CONFIG_ID':
    =IIF(
    Parameters!IN_Dimension.Value = -1,
           "SELECT -1 AS FDA_CONFIG_ID FROM DUAL WHERE :H_IN_InstanceId = :H_IN_InstanceId",
           "SELECT RA_SUMM_RECON_MEASURE.FDA_CONFIG_ID AS FDA_CONFIG_ID FROM RA_SUMM_RECON_MEASURE, RA_SUMM_RECON_HISTORY WHERE RA_SUMM_RECON_MEASURE.RECON_ID
    = RA_SUMM_RECON_HISTORY.RECON_ID AND RA_SUMM_RECON_HISTORY.SUMM_RECON_INSTANCE_ID = :H_IN_InstanceId"
    As a trial, I change the report parameter used in the checking condition as follows (SUR_EXPLORER-OK.rdl):
    =IIF(
    Parameters!H_IN_InstanceId.Value = -1,
           "SELECT -1 AS FDA_CONFIG_ID FROM DUAL WHERE :H_IN_InstanceId = :H_IN_InstanceId",
           "SELECT RA_SUMM_RECON_MEASURE.FDA_CONFIG_ID AS FDA_CONFIG_ID FROM RA_SUMM_RECON_MEASURE, RA_SUMM_RECON_HISTORY WHERE RA_SUMM_RECON_MEASURE.RECON_ID
    = RA_SUMM_RECON_HISTORY.RECON_ID AND RA_SUMM_RECON_HISTORY.SUMM_RECON_INSTANCE_ID = :H_IN_InstanceId"
    Then the mentioned error message is not shown (of course I can’t get desired report generated as the logic is incorrect).
    Besides, I try with other report parameters but the mentioned error message is not shown.

    Hi chrisd921,
    According to your description, you want to do a dynamic query based on parameter select in your report dataset. Right?
    In Reporting Services, if we use query to retrieve data when creating dataset, this query will only be processed one time during report processing. So we can't make it change to another query after we change the parameter selection. And we can't combine
    the data from two query together in a dataset, because in a dataset, if multiple result sets are retrieved through a single query, only the first result set is processed, and all other result sets are ignored. For your requirement, it can't be achieved currently.
    In this scenario, we suggest you add one more column, and put in "-1" in detail row. Then control the visibility to show either "-1" or report data.

  • Abnormal behavior for non-optional parameter

    Hello Gurus,
            I have a datasource as follows:
             {CALL "HIROC_PRC_FA016_WPR_DM_DTL"({?Date From}, {?Date To},{?Sub No})},  for all three parameter, they are all static, and "optional prompt" are "false" ( it can't be set up),  but when I run the report,  if I did not input value for parameter {?Date From} and {?Date To}, report will not run.  but if I did not input value for parameter {?Sub No}, report runned with error message "Failed to retreve data from the database. Details: 42000:[Oracle][ODBC]Syntax error or access violation."

    if you have the parameters set OPTIONAL to false, then it requires a value,
    you can make the sub no optional and then you can use

  • SAP GUI for Java 7.10 rev 7 - strange behavior using mouse

    Hi,
      I use last revision of SAP GUI for Java 7.10 on linux and I've noticied that some mouse actions do not work as expected. I'll use describe an examples:
    (1)
    In rev.6 I simly push button on screen and move over text, text is marked and then I can use CTRL-C to copy text to clipboard.
    In rev.7 pushing button and move does nothing. I need one initial click more and then it works as expected.
    (2)
    Click to icon in an ABAP list sometimes activate another icon from screen (it seems that focus isn't moved from its previous position to new mouse cursor position).
    Because rev.7 has been released at the end of 2008, it is possible, that some dotted revision (solving these troubles) has been released, does anybody know solution?
    Thank you for some hints,
      Pavel

    Hello Pavel,
    we have not yet been aware of such issues, so a newer dotted version would likely not make a difference.
    (1) The behavior pretty much depends on the specific component you are clicking and selecting its text.
    So a specific test case identifying the component is required to investigate the issue.
    (2) Also for this case I ask to provide the exact context, even if it happens there only "sometimes".
    Please provide also information requested in [note 326558|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/326558], parts 2.) and 3.)
    If you could provide all this as part of a [support message|http://service.sap.com/message] would be great.

  • ANSWER: HOW TO DETECT Java Plugin from JavaScript

    I created a new topic because the questions about
    how to detect Java Plugin in browsers are scattered
    thoughout this forum.
    Basically you need to employ two approaches for IE and NS.
    In IE you need to try to instantiate a small applet
    (not your production applet) in order to see if browser
    can do it. if the browser can do it, you can make a
    call applet from JavaScript in order to find version of
    JRE (as well as a host of other things).
    In NS you can write a simple JavaScript which will
    interrogate the browser for all plugins installed. Then
    ypu can make a desicion whether to pass execution to
    the next(or generated) page which hosts your applet,
    or ask the user to download/install a plugin.
    I ecourage everybody to host a plugin on your site
    rather leave default link to it which is generated by
    html converter.
    In order to run sample,
    Prerequisites:
    Java Plugin 1.3.
    If you have a different version of plugin,
    substitute hardcoded plugin version in JavaScript for
    value that you have.
    1. compile java file
    2. put class file in the same directory with html file
    3. load html file into the browser.
    4. press "Check Java Plugin.." button
    5. see it work
    6. examine code
    7. uninstall plugin
    8. repeat steps 1 - 4
    9. see it work
    10. install plugin.
    Sample code follows:
    **********************HTML FILE BEGIN***********
    <HTML>

  • Java Plugin Detection using VBScript on Internet Explorer

    Hi,
    I need a way to detect when the plugin version is above a certain version number (such as 1.4.1 or higher) so that I can give the user some extra info as to what is happening when the plugin is downloading automatically on Internet Explorer. Something like :-
    "Please wait for Java plugin to download"
    At present there is a long delay when the user may not know what is happening as no info is relayed back to user.
    I know that the presence of the plugin can be detected using vbscript but not with JavaScript but how do i determine that the user has 1.4.1 or higher. I use the following code:
    <script language="vbscript">
    If IsObject(CreateObject("JavaPlugin"))=True Then
    document.writeln("some info to user")
    End If
    </script>
    This tells me if a JavaPlugin is installed but not what version so we still dont know whether the applet will run or the plugin will download.
    I have also tried:
    <script language="vbscript">
    If IsObject(CreateObject("JavaPlugin.141"))=True Then
    document.writeln("some info to user")
    End If
    </script>
    this works but what if the user already has a version greater than 1.4.1 this is not detected and a nonsense message saying that the Java plugin is downloading is displayed.
    Any ideas?

    Here's JavaPlugin detection for netscape and ie using JavaScript . . .
    Throw this in a .js file and source it at the start of you html.
    function detectPlugin() {
         var thePlugins = detectPlugin.arguments;     // allow for multiple checks in a single pass
         var pluginFound = false;               // consider pluginFound to be false until proven true
         // if plugins array is there and not fake
         if (navigator.plugins && navigator.plugins.length > 0) {
    var pluginsArrayLength = navigator.plugins.length;
              // for each plugin loop through all desired names and check each against the current plugin name
    for (pluginsArrayCounter=0; pluginsArrayCounter < pluginsArrayLength; pluginsArrayCounter++ ) {
    var numFound = 0;
    for(namesCounter=0; namesCounter < thePlugins.length; namesCounter++) {
                        // if desired plugin name is found in either plugin name or description     the pluginFound
    if( (navigator.plugins[pluginsArrayCounter].name.indexOf(thePlugins[namesCounter]) >= 0) || (navigator.plugins[pluginsArrayCounter].description.indexOf(thePlugins[namesCounter]) >= 0) ) {
    numFound++;
                   // now that we have checked all the required names against this one plugin,
                   // if the number we found matches the total number provided then we were successful
    if(numFound == thePlugins.length) {
    pluginFound = true;
                        // if we've found the plugin, we can stop looking through at the rest of the plugins

  • Java plugin crashes when creating a new sun.security.pkcs11.SunPKCS11 object

    Hi,
    I have created an applet which signs pdf files and works fine.
    Applet is used in a website that needs client authentication with the same smart card wich is used to sign the documents.
    The java plugin crashes at this line of code. The message showed - The java applet plugin has failed
    sunpkcs11 = new sun.security.pkcs11.SunPKCS11(pkcs11);
    I think it crashes because the pkcs11 module is still used, the light of the smart card reader is not blinking is a fixed light.
    I haven't got an error log because the java plugin crashes. Only shows the log lines before that line of code.
    Later the sunpkcs11 provider is added if the smarcard is unplugged and java plugin don't crashes.
    Security.addProvider(sunpkcs11);
    If I unplug the smart card after client authentication and before sign a document, the java plugin don't crashes and later, the provider is added, and the document is signed and the light of the smart card reader is blinking before signing.
    Firefox 27 version.
    Java Standar Edition version 7 update 51 compilation 1.7.0_51-b13
    I'm using mac os x v10.9 64 bits system
    I have seen:
    http://bugs.java.com/view_bug.do?bug_id=8026833
    I have tested the same applet with firefox, in windows 7, windows 8, ubuntu 13.10 and fedora 19, and works and signs documents after client authentication.
    when applet is loaded in windows is not using pkcs11. But I haven't got the same problem.
    But in mac os x v10.8 and v10.9 java plugin crashes.
    Is there a way to disconnect programatically the pkcs11 module or any other solution?
    I'm not sure why the java plugin crashes. Has got any relationship with the bug 8026833?
    Any suggestion?.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you had Errors TF30162 and TF250025 when creating a New Team Project in TFS2012 with Sharepoint Site on Visual Studio.
    The Errors TF30162 seemed that the reports for TFS could not be uploaded due a permission problem. The fix was really easy.
    Go to your team foundation server
    Open the administration console.
    Click on Reporting
    Click on Edit
    Click on Reports Tab
    Enter the credential for the Reports
    Save
    Click on Start Jobs
    In addtion, the problem may be due to the caching done by Team Explorer in Visual Studio. Exiting the copy of VS on the client and reloading it will fix the problem as the updated team process settings will cached locally.
    To resolve the Errors TF250025, you will need to register a new internal URL for the SharePoint site using Alternate Access Mappings.
    Here are two great blogs for you to take a look at:

  • Tips on how to write efficient  java code for java mapping

    hi
    I do not have much knowledge in Java
    Can anybody tell me some tips on how to write efficient and optimised java code to be used in java mapping
    Thanks,
    Loveena

    hi D'za,
    JAVA in xi
    A very important place where you will use JAVA in XI is while doing your Mapping. There will be cases when JAVA MAPPING is the best solution to go for. There are 2 types of Parsers available for JAVA Mapping. DOM Parser and SAX parser. Just got through the following links to understand more on Java Mapping and the APIs available.http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/javax/xml/parsers/package-summary.html http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/org/w3c/dom/Document.html http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/org/w3c/dom/package-frame.html /people/prasad.ulagappan2/blog/2005/06/29/java-mapping-part-i

  • SAP GUI for Java 7.00 rev 4 - bug in ABAP download

    When I try to download ABAP source code or when I use "Edit Locally" in SE38 (the easiest way how to write/edit programs with a comfortable editor), ABAP source is downloaded to my computer with trailing 0x00 bytes. It has small side-effect in Local Editing: new code with this block is uploaded into SAP and syntax check of such program fails.
    Using 7.00 rev 3 works fine.
    Has anybody idea how to eliminate this bug?
    Wishlist, but to another forum: It will be really nice to assign hot-key to this menu item in SE38.
    Thank you,
      Pavel

    Hello Pavel,
    thanks for bringing this to our attention.
    This is a bug in SAP GUI for Java 7.00 rev 4 and we will fix this in the next revision.
    Regarding the hot-key for the "Edit Locally" menu item, I suggest to give this feedback officially using <a href="http://service.sap.com/message">message wizard</a> on component BC-DWB-TOO.
    Best regards

  • Capturing electronic signature in the Webdynpro for java applicaiton.

    Hi! All,
    Can you please tell me the way to capture the electronic signature in my Webdynpo for Java application.?
    Thanks and Regards,
    M.D.Sahu

    Hi,
    I did it with IFrame control that generates a script (javascript) with Smart Card.
    The user has a smart card with electronic id, when the user wants to sign the form the script generate a smrt card logon.
    The user has to identify with finger print and the electioc signiture is added to the form (Adobe).
    the main issue  in this project was where to activate  script (server side or client side).
    enjoy,,,,

  • Webdynpro for Java Edit and Save.

    Dear all,
    ter cal
    iam working on webdynpro for java i want simple code for EDIT and SAVE  after calling a rfc in for using NWDS webdynpro for java.
    1)HOW TO SAVE AND EDIT THE FRONT WEBDYNPRO FOR JAVA APPLICATION
    2)AFTER SAVING AND THE DATA THAT SHOULD BE SAVED IN PA30 ARE PA20 AND IN PARTICULAR TABLE ALSO.
    PLEASE GIVE ME GOOD TIPS.

    Hi Kishore,
    Creating/Updating entries in tables through Bapis (RFC calls) work in the same way as it is done for other Bapis like those for returning values or even structures. All you have to do is
    1. Import the model, create a model node in your context and bind it to the Input structure of the model under used models.
    2.Create an istance of the Model input structure, like
         Z_Test1_Input input = new Z_Test1_Input();
    3. Set attibutes directly under the input structure
         input.setAttr1("XYZ");
    4. Set attributes under any other structure under Input Structure by first creating the instance of the sub-structure
        Z_SubStruct1 subStrc1 = new Z_SubStruct1();
        subStrc1.setSubAttr1("ABC");
    5. Add all available instances of sub-structures to the instance of input structure
        input.set<SubStruct1>(suStrc1);
    6. Add all available instances of tables under Input Structure after setting attributes within using
    for (int iCount = 0; iCount < wdContext.nodeVn_ContactInfo().size(); iCount++) {
          Z_Table1 zTable1 = new Z_Table1();
          IPublic<YourComponent>.IVn_Table1Element tab1Ele = wdContext.nodeVn_Table1().getVn_Table1ElementAt(iCount);
          zTable1.set<TableAttr>(tab1Ele .getVa_Attr1());
          input.add<Table1>(zTable1);
    7. Bind the instance of input structure to the model node.
       wdContext.nodeMn_TestModel().bind(input);
    8. Execute the model object and then invalidate the output structure under model node (Put this code in try catch block)
       wdContext.currentMn_TestModelElement().modelObject().execute();
       wdContext.nodeMn_TestModel().nodeOutput().invalidate();
    9. Retrieve values from the attributes, tables and structures under the Output Node of the Model Node (Mn_TestModel) as usual
    and store wherever in context as required. In case of output tables, you need to use FOR loop to iterate through the tables and access elements within using index (using wdContext.node<YourRequiredNode>().get<YourRequiredNode>ElementAt(int index)).
    Hope it is helpful.
