ABOUT DATABASE TABLE

CAN I CREATE A FIELD  IN DATABASE TABLE
WITHOUT A DATA-ELEMENT
CAN I CREATE A FIELD   IN DATABASE-TABLE WITHOUT A DOMAIN

Hi,
yes, you can and in this way:
Trans. SE11 plus table name
insert you new field
press button "predefined type"
now colums "data type" and "length" are active and column "data element" is inactive.
you can enter hier your data type (CHAR, NUMC, DATS, etc.) and the length of the field.
save and activate the table.

  • Question about database tables behind charicteristic

    Hi everyone,
    <b>(1) what does the M table(view) of a charicteristic use for?</b> I find that the M view's structure is same as p table, so why the system create it?
    <b>(2) what is the difference between NAV attribute and DIS attribute from database point of view?</b> I see that, if use NAV attribute in a characteristic's attribute, a X table will be generated, what does this x table use for?

    Hi,
    The M view.
    Attributes from a IObj are stored in two tables: the P table for time independent attributes and the Q table for time dependent attr; the M view bring all attributes to be seen together (just press F1 positioning your cursor in the RSD1 screen on "view of MstrDta.." to get SAP explanation....) If your char doesn't have time indep attr, then the M view = the P table; otherwise it would be a mixture (e.g. 0COSTCENTER)
    The X (/resp Y) table stores the relation between your master data SID and its time independent attributes (not only NAV) SIDs (resp time dependent). This table is used when preparing SELECT statements during reporting, F4 help and selection of data. Roughly it spares a join operation.
    hope this helps...

  • Questions about database application tables connector

    Hi all,
    I need to manage with OIM several databases (each one with its custom tables).
    Also, one of them will be my trusted target on the initial load of users. The structure of our tables is not similar to the included in the example.
    The documentation explains how the OraAppX.xml could be modified but it doesn't speak about relations with "DBTable_nonTrusted.xml" and/or "DBTable_trusted.xml" For example, if I don't have a column called USR_COMM_LANG, could I replace this column name for another that I have in my database ? And what about the references on the "DBTable_nonTrusted.xml" file. Connector doc doesn't explain how references to that field (USR_COMM_LANG---xel_usr_comm_lang) are managed by the connector and if the normal working of the connector could be affected if the name of a variable is changed in the xml conf file.
    It could be that adapters of this connector were hardcoded with the referece to xel_usr_comm_lang (???) .
    The connector documentation includes a section titled "Adding Custom Database Columns for Provisioning and Reconciliation". The first impression reading this document is that it is possible to extend the predefined table rather than create and define a new structure of table.
    Has anyone rebuilt the "DBTable_nonTrusted.xml", "DBTable_trusted.xml" and "OraAppX.xml" files changing all default variables in order to manage a customized table? .
    Many thanks in advance,
    Claudia

    Hi Claudia,
    1) Yes, you must replace the column names in the "column" tag on your XML file for the column names that you have in your database tables. Also, remember that you need to configure the other parameters (like data_type, data_typ_size, etc) according to your database table.
    2) The "xel_data_source" parameter is the attribute name that will be recognized by the OIM and they can be mapped to a form field (UD_DBAPP_XXXX) in your process definition in OIM Design Console.
    3) You can customize your Database Application Tables connector for provisioning as you wish, but some issues exists. In the Known Issues section of the documentation you can see that this connector doesn't work for more than two tables.
    4) To customize your Database Application Tables for Trusted Recon, there are other restrictions because OIM users have some required fields that must be filled to create a user successfully.
    Hope that helps, and please let me know if you have more questions.
    Regards.

  • RSRV - Database Information about InfoProvider Tables

    Hello Experts,
    I have a question regarding the RSRV. I have run the check "Database Information about InfoProvider Tables " to see number of entries of the dimension tables for a cube. Afterwards I checked directly the dimension table /BIC/D* with the TC SE16. And the number of entries differs. In the RSRV I get around 26 MIO entries, but in the dimension table I get around 25 MIO entries.
    Can anybody explain me this ? For my understanding the RSRV result for the dimension table and the number of entries (SE16) should match.
    Thx in advance.

  • Run Rebuild Index Task daily on database but about 77 tables still highly fragmented over 80% !!!

    Hello everyone
    On our particular database server, we run the Rebuild Index Task (Using classic Maintenance Plan Designer) every night. Running the  script below, I saw that about 77 tables had an avg_fragmentation_in_percentage between 80% and 99% !!
    SELECT OBJECT_NAME(ind.OBJECT_ID) AS TableName,
    ind.name AS IndexName, indexstats.index_type_desc AS IndexType,
    indexstats.avg_fragmentation_in_percent
    FROM sys.dm_db_index_physical_stats(DB_ID(), NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL) indexstats
    INNER JOIN sys.indexes ind
    ON ind.object_id = indexstats.object_id
    AND ind.index_id = indexstats.index_id
    WHERE indexstats.avg_fragmentation_in_percent > 30--You can specify the percent as you want
    ORDER BY indexstats.avg_fragmentation_in_percent DESC
    I dont understand why these tables are highly fragmented after a daily index rebuild! Unless the users are doing heavy inserts/updates/deletes during the day.
    Anyone has an idea of the possible causes of these results??
    Thank you all in advance

    Hallo Efyuzegeekgurl,
    this is a normal behaviour when your table is only a small one. The reason for that behaviour is the following:
    The dmv sys.dm_db_index_physical_stats counts each page which is not located at the very next one of the same table as a "fragment". If the first data page is 1700 and the second one is located on 1705 SQL server will count it as a fragment.
    The basic allocation algorithm of Microsoft SQL Server is that new data pages will be created in "mixed extents". An extent is a contigious line of 8 consecutive data pages. This is for historical reasons when storage was expensive and data should
    use as much as possible of allocated storage.
    If a new table will be created the very first 8 pages are not located one after the other but "could" be located on different extents. If your table has only 9 data pages than 8 pages will count as "fragmented" because of their non consecutive
    allocation. After 8 pages have been allocated Microsoft SQL Server will ALWAYS use a full extent for the next 8 pages (and so on!).
    To understand this behaviour use the following example which creates a table with a record length of 8K. The next command will create 10 records (which means 10 data pages).
    CREATE TABLE dbo.foo
    Id INT NOT NULL IDENTITY (1, 1),
    c1 CHAR(8000) NOT NULL DEFAULT ('filler')
    GO
    SET NOCOUNT ON;
    GO
    INSERT INTO dbo.foo DEFAULT VALUES
    GO 10
    When you check the page allocation you'll find the first 8 data pages not in a consecutive row but "scrambled" into different pages:
    SELECT database_id,
    index_id,
    partition_id,
    allocation_unit_type_desc,
    extent_page_id,
    allocated_page_page_id,
    is_mixed_page_allocation,
    page_type_desc
    FROM sys.dm_db_database_page_allocations
    DB_ID(),
    OBJECT_ID('dbo.foo', 'U'),
    0,
    NULL,
    'DETAILED'
    ) AS DDDPA
    WHERE
    DDDPA.is_allocated = 1
    ORDER BY
    DDDPA.is_iam_page DESC,
    DDDPA.page_level DESC;
    GO
    You will see that the first 8 pages are located in a MIXED extent. Although the pages are in a consecutive order in the extent 221112 it is not guaranteed!
    You can see from the very first three records that they are not in a consecutive row stored.
    Now the fragmentation of the data seems to be quite high because we have 4 breaks in the rows. If we compare this value to the "fragmentation in sys.dm_db_index_physical_stats we will see at least the same result:
    SELECT index_type_desc,
    alloc_unit_type_desc,
    DDIPS.avg_fragmentation_in_percent,
    DDIPS.fragment_count,
    DDIPS.page_count,
    avg_page_space_used_in_percent
    FROM sys.dm_db_index_physical_stats
    DB_ID(),
    OBJECT_ID('dbo.foo', 'U'),
    NULL,
    NULL,
    'DETAILED'
    ) AS DDIPS;
    So - just from my point of view - don't count only to the fragmentation in percent because if the table is to small it will ALWAYS be over 30%. Take more into account the density of the pages and - as all others have mentioned - the number of pages of the
    index.
    I would consider indexes with more or equal to 1.000 pages.
    Another tip: Forget about the f... maintenance plans. These "plans" are not worth the time and money because you cannot control it in a more precise way. Have a look to the solution of Ola Hallengren and implement his solution - a great master
    piece of index maintenance:

  • Queston about CMR and corresponded database table.

    Hi:
    For example, If I have a EntityA with cmp field named "EntityA_ID" which is
    the primary key field, and have a EntityB with cmp field named "EntityB_ID" which
    is the primary key field. The relation of EntityA and EntityB is 1:1.
    But the container will create table EntityA_Table and EntityB_Table:
    CREATE TABLE EntityA_Table (ID varchar (50) PRIMARY KEY,_EntityA_EntityB
    varchar(50))
    CREATE TABLE EntityB_Table (ID varchar (50) PRIMARY KEY,_EntityB_EntityA
    varchar(50))
    But the column for relation is as same as the primary key column, the question
    is below:
    Q1: Does the cmp field and cmr field can not be the same database table column?
    If so, it will waste the disk space.
    Q2: which one is more common or more better?
    1)create database table first and create CMP based on table.
    2)create CMP first and create table from EJB descriptor thought EJB container
    when deploying.
    3)create CMP first and create table from EJB descriptor by manual.
    Regards!
    John Lee

    The relation of EntityA and EntityB is 1:1.
    But the container will create table EntityA_Table and EntityB_Table:
    CREATE TABLE EntityA_Table (ID varchar (50) PRIMARYKEY,_EntityA_EntityB
    varchar(50))
    CREATE TABLE EntityB_Table (ID varchar (50) PRIMARYKEY,_EntityB_EntityA
    varchar(50))
    for 1:1 relationships, only one table is required to contain the Foreign
    Key.
    But the column for relation is as same as the primary key column, thequestion
    is below:
    Q1: Does the cmp field and cmr field can not be the same database tablecolumn?
    If so, it will waste the disk space.The primary key cmp field column cannot be the same database column as the
    foreign key cmr field column because the primary key cannot change value
    once it is set whereas the foreign key may change according to how
    relationships are made and broken.
    Q2: which one is more common or more better?
    1)create database table first and create CMP based on table.
    2)create CMP first and create table from EJB descriptor thought EJBcontainer
    when deploying.
    3)create CMP first and create table from EJB descriptor by manual.
    At development time allowing the container to create the tables is
    convenient.
    It is not recommended to rely on this mechanism for production use.
    Generally,
    one wants much more control over the database tables in production than the
    simple things that the container does when it creates 'default' tables.

  • Sending data from SAP-BW ODS to R/3 database table/ view

    I need to store data in an ODS in BW from an oracle view & then send this data to SAP R/3 so that the same data can be used by SAP-ABAP for making a BDC program ( i.e. finally storing it in some database tables in R/3).
    Is it possible to do that?? if yes then how.....??

    Hi,
    Yes it is possibel.
    Use SAP PI ie XI which will send the data from BW to ur R/3 system.
    Check the links about XI.
    XI is a Integration broker. U can integrate any systems using XI.

  • Can not find product , sku attributes data in database table

    Hi there,
    I find it really strange to find data in database related to product and sku. I set up the commerce reference store and store is up and running fine. Catalog is fine too. I am not able to find data related to sku attributes in database.
    I have a product_id xprod2511 which has 11 child skus such as xsku2511_1, xsku2511_2 and so on. sku xsku2511_1 is blue color and size 4. When I search for this two sku attributes (color and size) information in dcs_sku_attr table with sku_id as xsku2511_1, no rows returned. In fact, I looked into few other sku tables but I am not able to find the information about color and size of a sku in any database table.
    this is the query I am running:
    select * from dcs_sku_attr where sku_id = 'xsku2511_1'
    Can someone please let me know the table name where this information regarding color and size resides in?
    Thanks a lot.

    In dyn/admin If you try and view the definition file of ProductCatalog repository, then under sku item descriptor you would see the color and size property which would be under some table tag, that table tag table name should be the table holding these values.
    the other question(may be silly) is that I hope that you are executing sql in correct schema, that is cata or catb schema (select * from catA.dcs_sku_attr) where the actual product catalog data resides.

  • "Economizing" in a list of maps with identical keys (like a database table)

    Hi there!:
    I've been checking this forum for information about something like what I state in the title of this message, but haven't found such a specific case. I'm commenting my doubt below.
    I'm working with a list of maps whose keys are exactly the same in all them (they're of type String). Indeed it could be considered an extrapolation of a database table: The list contains maps which act as rows, and every map contains keys and values which represent column names and values.
    However, this means to repeat the same key values on every map and this spends memory. Right, maybe it's not such a big spent, but since the list can contains thousands of maps, I think that it would be better to choose a more "economical" way to achieve the same result.
    I had thought about building a class which stored everything as a list of lists and, internally, it mapped that String keys with the corresponding Integer indexes of every list. But then I realized that maybe I was re-inventing the wheel, because it's very probable that someone has already made that. Maybe is there a class on the Core API which allows that?
    Thank you very much for your help.

    Well, after re-reading the Java tutorial which is located in the Sun website I've came to a conclusion which I should have before, when I thought about using StringBuffers as keys of the maps instead of Strings.
    I'm so used to build Strings using literals instead of the "new String ()" constructor (just as everyone) that I had forgotten that, as it happens with any kind of object but not the primary data types, Strings are not passed to the methods by value, but by reference. The fact of them being immutable made me think that they were passed by value.
    Apart of that, my problem also was that using literals I was creating different String objects every time, despite the fact that they were equal about their content (making 400 different keys called "name" for example)
    In other words, I was doing something like this:
    // It makes a list of maps which will contain maps of boy's personal data (as if they were "rows" in a table).
    List <Map <String, Object>> listData = new ArrayList <Map <String, Object>> (listBoy.size ());
    // It loops over a list of Boy objects, obtained using EJB.
    for (Boy boy : listBoy) {
         // It makes a new map containing only the information which I'm interested on from the Boy object.
         Map <String, Object> map = new HashMap <String, Object> (2);
         map.put ("name", boy.getName ());
         map.put ("surname", boy.getSurname ());
         // It adds the map to the list of data.
         listData.add (map);
    }Well, the "problem" here (being too demanding, but I'm :P ) is that I was adding all the time new Strings objects as keys in every map. The key "name" in the first map was different from "name" in the second one and so on.
    I guess that my knowledge got messed at certain point and thought that it was impossible to use exactly the same String object in different maps (the reference, not the same value!). Thus, my idea of using StringBuffers instead.
    But thinking about it carefully, Why not to do this?:
    List <Map <String, Object>> listData = new ArrayList <Map <String, Object>> (listBoy.size ());
    // It makes the necessary String keys previously, instead of using literals on every loop later.
    String name = "name";
    String surname = "surname";
    for (Boy boy : listBoy) {
         // It uses references (pointers) to the same String keys, instead of new ones every time.
         Map <String, Object> map = new HashMap <String, Object> (2);
         map.put (name, boy.getName ());
         map.put (surname, boy.getSurname ());
         listData.add (map);
    }Unfortunately, the "hasCode" method on String is overloaded and instead of returning the typical hash code based on the single ID of the object in memory, it returns one based on its content. That way I can't make sure that the "name" key in one map refers to the same object in memory than another one. I know, I know. The common sense and the Java documentation confirm that, but had loved having an empiric way to demonstrate it.
    I guess that using "javap" and disassembling the generated bytecode is the only way to make sure that it's that way.
    I believe that it's solved now :) (if no one tells me the contrary). I still am mad at myself for thinking that Strings were passed by value. Thinking about it now it had no sense!
    dannyyates: It's curious because re-reading every answer I think that you maybe were pointing to this solution already. But the sentence "you put the +same+ string" was a little ambiguous for me and thought that you meant putting the same String as "putting the same text" (which I already was doing), not the same object reference (in other words, using a common variable). I wish we could have continued discussing that in depth. Thanks a lot for your help anyway :) .

  • How to get string value from database table using Visual Studio 2005?

    Hi,
    Im developing plugin in illustrator cs3 using visual studio 2005. I need to get the values eneterd in database. Im able to get the integer values. But while getting string values it is returning empty value.

            //MessageBox(NULL,buf,"Proj ID",0);
            //MessageBox(NULL,ProjectInfo[i].ProjectName.c_str(),"Project Name",0);
        return 0;
    In the above code im geeting project D which is an integer value. But not able to get the project name.
    Please some one guide me.

    As I said in the other thread, this really isn't the place to ask questions about a database API unrelated to the Illustrator SDK. You're far more like to find people familliar with your problem on a forum that is dedicated to answering those kinds of questions instead.

    <td align="left" valign="top" bgcolor="#e5f8cb">Current comments:<?php echo $row_Recordset1['COUNT']; ?></td>
    resulting in all comments so far displaying 0
    I have highlighted in bold the parts that I am having difficulty with.

    I changed the mysql as you suggested GROUP BY titles.id
    and added a while loop to iterate over the data
    mysql_select_db($database_abe, $abe);

    <td>Current comments:<?php
    if($row_Recordset1)
    while($row = mysql_fetch_array($row_Recordset1))
    echo $row['COUNT'];
    } ?></td>
    The first item now displays the following,
    comments:2311000000000000000000000000000
    all others
    comments:
    the number matched the database table exactly, 30 records 4 of which have 2, 3, 1, 1 comments.
    It looks as if the problem is trying to get the repeat region to pick up on it!

  • How to input data in a database table without knowing in advance table and column configurations

    Hi,
    I have a problem using LabVIEW for input data (manually) in a SQL database. I have about 40 tables in the database, each of them is related to a specific engine component. I need to create a user interface (maybe visualizing the table with a table control) where the users can insert data in the database table fields. Could someone give me some suggestion on how to do it?
    Using the  DB tools insert data.vi I need to know in advance the column configuration of the table, but in my database each table has its own structure! So do I have to create 40 different masks, one for every different table?
    Thanks in advance.
    Michela

    I have not actually used the LV SQL Toolkit, but I will try and offer high level ideas :-)
    when you have retrieved the construction data for a table, you should be able to use array and cluster indexing to aquire the names of the fieds, enough to create a labelled table on the LV Front panel.
    After completing a new entry you can INSERT the entry into the database using the same data.
    Is the SQL toolkit an additional purchase, or included in newer versions as standard? If you post a sample of the cluster/array that you retrieve, I could give you a sample VI to give you some pointers in creating the User Interface table

  • Access key needed when creating a new database table with SE11

    Hi,
    I'm using SAP Testdrive (evaluation) on linux in order to learn a bit about ABAP programming. I want to create a new database table in the  dictionary to be used in my programs. I proceed in the following way:
    1) I run the SE11 transaction
    2) At the first entry I write the name of the table to be created (in the Database Table field)
    3) I click on the create button.
    But then the system asks me an Access Key to register, where can I get this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Kind Regards,
    Dariyoosh

    Ok I found the answer to my question in another thread
    Developer Key
    Make sure that your program names starts with "Z" or "Y", otherwise the system will ask you to register the object because it thinks you are creating/changing in the SAP namespace.
    In fact this was my error, my table name didn't start with neither "Z" nor "Y".
    Kind Regards,
    Dariyoosh
