About SAP Transaction Codes

Hi all,
I want to know, whether the Transaction Codes used in SAP-ABAP or any othre modulehave any specific meaning. For eg: we have SE38 for ABAP Editor, wat does SE means in it. Similarly we have SM35 for Batch Inout Processing, here wat does SM means. Are the Predecessor (SE, SM, WE etc) of the code given any meaning. Can any1 Answer to me.

SM --- Systems Maintainance
and we have some SAP Enjoy transactions ..
These naming conventions are for standard tools of SAP...
this is not ....
M - Materials Management
V - Sales
P - HR
F - Financials etc
These naming conventions are used for the standard Transactions to create Master data like for example ....
to create a
Material master ( MM01 ) ,
Customer Master ( XD01 ),
Sales order creation ( VA01 ).. etc...

Dear parameswar
The simple work is go to MM60, give material type ROH (for raw material) and execute. You will get list of all raw materials. Make a note of it and now go to MB51, give those material codes and give movement type 261 for issue from stores and execute. You will get raw materialwise details of how much quantity has been issued to WIP. The same exercise you have to do for FERT.

Go to SE16, give the table MBEW and select the following fields:-
VERPR - If you want to see the moving average price of that particular material
STPRS - If you want to see the Standard price of that particular material
SALK3 - If you want to see the total valuated stock of that particular material
To see how much stock is available, run MMBE and execute. You can also check in MC.9 (mcdot9)

We want the same records to get displayed in DB02 as the current date.

Enter the T.Code "VL00" in the Easy access screen.which gives you all the T.Codes in shipping process.

For viewing the IDOC,use the T.Codes
1.WE02-To view the IDOC
2.BD87-to reprocess the data.
3.WE19-To change the data in IDOC.

Acessing a SAP Transaction Code through WebDynpro Link

I need to call a SAP Transaction from a link and how would I go about it.I Have created a WebDynpro Link to Action in Layout of WebDyn and now I need to write the code for acessing a transaction.
It is similar to a SAP Transactional Iview but it will be a link.Can anyone help me in this issue.

Well, you can create SAP transaction iView for t.code 'SE38'.
You can configure value
for 'application parameter' property as 'RS38M-PROGRAMM=<PROG_NAME>'
for 'Parameters to Pass from Page Request' as 'PROG_NAME'
Add this iView to the page, get url of the page.
In webdynpro application, append '?PROG_NAME=<program name>' to this url dynamically when you click on the tree node (where you replace <program name> with actual program name>) ..
Does that solves your problem?

A problem about sap transaction?

a error is raised when running the following code(VB6), why?

The error message is "ActiveX components can't create object"

thanks for your response roaminggnome. I changed my password immediately after it happened and I have contacted i tunes to let them know of this dillemma.
The I-tunes credit was a promotional thing by Apple to buy their laptop. So I didn't pay for the i-tunes credit in the first place. Do you think my bank will be able to reinburse Itunes credit then? I will ask support when they get back to me.

SAP Transaction Code executed slowly

Dear experts,
i have installed a SAP ECC 6.0 IDES EHP3 on Windows Enterprise 2003 Server 64 bits with MSSQL.
Maybe the question has been asked many times but i would like to improve my SAP system access.
For example, when i type a transaction code, it takes several seconds (around 3 or 4 secondes) to be executed. I already executed the sgen t-code and i don't have any idea on how to make it better.
Do you have any advise? All comment is welcomed.

there are many factors in slow response time, it can be OS resources, it can be hardware/network bottleneck, it can be memory configuration...etc
u can check in ST03 on average response time for dialog steps.....is it high buffer swapping in ST02 , etc
Maintain latest kernel patch/SP, optimize memory parameters against some standard SAP memory notes, ensure high and stable network bandwidth, etc
tool like ST01, ST02, ST03, ST05, etc are useful..
why not schedule an early watch session with SAP Service Delivery (if you have contract with SAP)
for performance check ?

Try with tcode MCRE, COOIS. Input the production order no.
For opening and closing stock try with MB5B

Hi:
For documentation, you have to find it out in se37 but it is not neccessary every Fm would have.
Now question is about its used (if you know th e function module)-> go in se37-> put function module -> select where used list -> select used in like - program, class, BSP application etc -> click on ok; it would give the list of its used and just go in that find how it is being used.
if you have to find the function module for table - > go in se11 -> select table name -> click on where used list -> select function module interface and click on ok, it would give the list of its used.
Otherwise go in g o o g l e dot c o m.

We have ancient display role which have about 400 transaction codes, i want to break these role module spcecific display like

SD Display

Hi there,
from my point of view, there is not such a list as Tcodes are often cross module or used in different ones. You should rather try to seperate your Tcodes and Roles along your business processes / departments as they normally form the base for your roles.
Something like
- Base Authorization (e.g. Su53)
- Procurement Process Display ( e.g.Display Stocks )
- Procurement Process Create (Create Purchase Orders for XYZ)
- Procurement Process Critical (Approve High Value Payment)
