About the jdbc???

Question

hi,
i just want to do the jdbc of oracle 9i database and jdk1.3, i know i need the thin driver.
but the question is that should i need the oracle client installed in my computer as well....

thanks your reply, and i have another Q that is i already install the oracle9i database and jdk1.3.1 and the thin driver, and when i test the connection, it shows the error below
why?? i already trun on the listener.
