About the new Leopard OS and the battery

Is it possible that the new Leopard OS lowers battery performance down? I feel that the battery is losing its power much quicker than before. It now can't hold even an hour and a half. It used to be almost three hours. My MBP is two years old...

No effect of Leopard per se. Your battery may just be getting old. Check System Profiler - useful life of Li-based batteries is 400-500 charge cycles.
Hope this helps...

Hi. I just downloaded Firefox 4. Some of the new features are missing such as the new "Firefox Button" and the new location for the bookmarks button. It almost looks just like Firefox 3. I am using Windows XP on this desktop computer. On my laptop, running Windows Vista, Firefox 4 has all the updates advertised. Why is this happening? How do I fix?
    Thanks

    Good.
    Three things come to mind:
    1.  I think you're implying when you travel away from your home to a more populated area, the cellular coverage improves and your iPhone works well.  Is that right?
    2.  Do you have a case or some other obstruction over or near your iPhone's antenna?  Have you tried moving or removing any possible obstructions near the antenna?
    3.  AT&T has a (free) app in the App Store called "Mark the Spot".  You can use this app to report voice and/or data issues to AT&T, as well as keep up on progress they may be making in improving coverage in your area.  Your trouble reports are geotagged (if you wish).

have the new iphone 4s and the camera shutter wont open so i can not take photos it is only 4 weeks old dose anyone know why?

Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the silver apple appears?
The next step would be to restore the iphone as new in iTunes. If that doesn't work, make an appointment at the Genius Bar at the nearest Apple Store.
    Best of luck.

  • LRCC/LR6 Touchscreen issues in both the new "touch interface" and the standard interface.

Currently there is no way to add local adjustments via a touchscreen (Acer R7, Windows 8.1). With the new features added for touch the only things that happens when I touch or swipe on the photo are setting flags, zooming, and advancing to the next photo. This is the same behavior whether I'm in the new touch interface or the standard one. I had no issues adding or editing graduated filters, radial filters, adjustment brushes, etc with the touchscreen in Lightroom 5. Also touch doesn't register within the tone curve.

    Yes, Adobe, please fix this!!!
I have a 27" touchscreen monitor and previously had no problem applying brush adjustments in LR5 by applying my finger onto the screen, thereby giving me enhanced accuracy.  Suddenly, with LR6/LRCC, the same action yields the virtually useless result of advancing to the next image.
    This is exceptionally stupid!

  • HT204291 I have updated the new iOS today and the mirring feature still does not appear on my iPad, iPhone 5 or Apple TV and all are on the same network ... Now what?

Ok it's been two weeks and I have not been able to mirror since I updated to IOS 7.  I have called the support people with no avail.  I was hoping that the new IOS7.2 software would fix the problem but once again I was mistaken... Do any of you know a way that I can go back to the IOS6 system so that my stuff will work?

Thanks, but a I indicated in my original post, I have already tried everything in that KB article.  That article doesn't address the fact that I can mirror from an iPad 4, but not from an iPad 2.  According to all of the documentation about mirroring, there is no reason why the airplay / mirroring icon shouldn't appear.  It's explicitly enabled on iPad 2.

  • Can anyone clarify what exactly is the difference between the new Airport Express and the Airport Extreme?

The specs look virtually identical and the form factor is also much the same.
    The price is not.

Extreme: three LAN ports, Express: one (four total Ethernet ports vs. two, respectively)
Extreme: Gigabit Ethernet, Express: 10/100 base-T
Only the Express can stream iTunes (AirPlay) music
The first two limitations make it resemble the original AirPort Extreme. Dual band is a big plus though, and will go a long way toward alleviating a lot of people's problems with wireless interference.
The form factor is different as the new Express is not designed to be mounted directly to a power receptacle. Also, the new one allegedly supports 50 clients whereas the 802.11n Express was only 10. However, those never seemed to be limitations in actual use.

  • What is the difference between the new Time Capsule and the old Time Capsule other than capacity?

Trying to figure out what else is new on the Time Capsule announced today.

This is some info that was found in regards to the newly released Airport Extreme.  I would imagine that this would carry over to the new Time Capsule as well...
According to the FCC reports, there is a significant difference in the power output of the g/n radios at both 2.4 and 5ghz.
Follow the links, then select the "Report" for each.

I have updated my phone to ios 7 and the messaging has changed a bit how can I forward a message?

  • I want to close one email account but don't want to loose my address book. I already have the new account installed and the address book shows up in it.

If I delete my Roadrunner account in Thunderbird will it affect the address book that shows up in my new ATT email account?

The address book is the Thunderbird address book, not roadrunner or comcast etc, the same address book services all account in Thunderbird.
    SO go ahead.
But remember that if you have mail in a RoadRunner account folder in the folder pane that the folder will go with the account. All mail in the accounts folders inbox send etc needs to be moved to local folders before you delete the account.

  • Difference between the New U430 Touch and the old U430

Bestbuy.com lists a new U430 Touch with 8 GB of RAM but a smaller SSD cache of 8 GB (instead of 16 GB) for $699. The old U430 can be had for $639.
Do you think it's better to buy the old U430 and just upgrade the RAM to 8 GB myself (at a cost of about $80)? Or will the difference in the cache size be negligible in terms of performance (namely boot up time)?
Also, does anyone know if the screen is the same?  The old U430 screen seems slightly washed out to me.  Thank you.

I also read that AMD knew they released the 965 C2 140W cpu with a memory stability problem
I'd like to know what you've been reading, because it certainly wasn't AMD techdocs.
What stability problem? You mean the fact that using 4 sticks of RAM means you have to slow the memory clock down? This has been a common 'issue' way back since the first AMD64 CPUs with built in memory controller.
Yes its true that ALL Phenom II CPUs natively only supported two sticks of RAM at 1333mhz. And its also true that AMD released a new Phenom II 965 CPU, with an improved memory controller, that allowed 4 sticks at 1333mhz. But this doesn't 'fix' any memory stability 'problem'. And its still better to run just two sticks in dual-channel mode. Read the sticky topic in the AMD64 areas.
If you've been reading otherwise, then I'd advise you no longer read that source, as they don't seem to know what they're talking about.

  • The New Numbers V3 and the OS Upgrades are TERRIBLE

Is it only me or is Numbers the worst product Apple have ever produced.
Why would they treat their customers like this and force them to have to learn a new product with heaps of missing features!
There is so much you can not do anymore?
