About the Zoom-in "more Options"

Hi,
I was looking for a way to zoom-in to my screen on my iMac, however i did not want the screen image to move when i
move my mouse (near the edge of the screen). So under "Accessibility" - "Zoom" - "more Option". its states:
When Zoomed-in, the screen image moves:
O Continuously with pointer.
O Only when the pointer reaches and edge.
O So the pointer is at or near the center of the screen.
However, one of the option must be picked, they is method of un-checking any of them, so that what i Zoom in to my screen, and move the mouse to the edge the screen image itself will not move.
Please fix this issue.
Thank you.

  • Viewing Modes at fullscreen- where's the Zoom and Panoramic options???

I was wondering if there was an option to crop videos in Quicktime for Mac, so I had a look at the help viewer. Then, under 'Viewing Movies at Full Screen' I noticed it states that in fullscreen, you can move your cursor up to View, you can access Fit to screen, Zoom, and Panoramic viewing options.
The problem is I can't see those options anywhere. Where are they? I am on the latest version of Quicktime. Is there something I am missing? Are there any keyboard short-cuts for these? Is there any cropping options available that I am missing?
    Thanks for any help.

Although QT Player 7.2 offers full screen playback without the Pro key I'm wondering whether the other full screen options are Pro only. In any case, try this -- go into full screen display using command-f at this time your movie should be in full screen and now try pressing command-4 (which may give you a "zoom" mode -- it does on my Pro version of QT7.2). Next press command-5 which should produce a stretched or panoramic mode. Actually, all of following command codes should change the display mode (after entering full screen mode with command-f):
    command-0 (50%)
    command-1 (100%)
    command-2 (200%)
    command-3 (fit to screen)
command-4 ("zoom" or fit to width).
command-5 ("panoramic or stretch/distort to fill entire screen)

  • About the iMac's SSD Option

If I were to get an iMac with an SSD as well as a conventional hard drive, what would be stored on the SSD?
As I understand it, the OS is installed on the SSD so that boot times are much improved. But the SSD is quite large, so I thought that maybe the applications directory would be on here as well? Am I right? I've seen how fast applications load from an SSD, so this would seem to be an obvious use. And could I then move files between the two drives as I pleased? (Not that I would really want to.)
And then what about Time Machine? Would it back them both up, or just the HDD?
    Any help appreciated,
    Thanks,
    Adam

    Hello,
I'm also considering getting an iMac with an SSD, and I intend to use it the same way. OS and apps will be on the SSD. Large media files, disc images and any other large files that I won't access often will remain on the HDD.
The basic principle is that if you need to access a file very quickly and often, it must be on the SSD; but if the file is not going to be accessed often, it shouldn't take up valuable SSD space. A SSD is great for accessing lots of small files at once - an operating system does that while it's booting, for example - so files and apps you use regularly should be on the SSD to see the most benefit.
I'm an Aperture user and I plan to split my Aperture Library and put the most recent photos (in a smaller library of about 30 GB) on the SSD. That way opening and processing those images will be much faster. The not-so-urgent old photos will remain on the HDD. The same could apply to an audio professional working with Logic Studio, or an AutoCAD user working with dxf files etc.
I would create new "media/storage" directories on the mechanical drive and put the unimportant files there. I think it's not possible to move, say, the /user/Music directory on the mechanical drive while the /user directory stays on the SSD. In this case I will need to point iTunes to the new folder on the mechanical drive, for example.
Hope this helps. Every SSD user I heard from says it's dramatically speeded up their computer; so if you go for one, I think you will be very satisfied.
Edited: Sorry, I saw this thread on the "similar threads" area on the right and wrote my reply without checking the date. I really need to pay more attention..

  • About the Licensing of Oracle Optional Packs

    Hello,
I've a few questions regarding to licensing issues:
    1. If you have partitioning enabled, you have to also license standby database for this option. How about Oracle RAC option? If you have RAC enabled on production system; do you have to license also standby for RAC option?
    2. I really cannot understand concepts of "Change Management Pack"; "Configuration Management Pack"; "Provisioning and Patch Automation Pack". For example, if you use Active Session History, you have to pay for Diagnostic Pack. Or if you are using advisors and sql profiling, then you have to pay for Tuning Pack. But eventhough I read a few times about these three packs, I couldn't understand what's inside in these packs... Could you please tell me when and why I should pay for these packs?

  • Question about the 'Allow Interlaced Processing' option

Hello, my source is 1920x1080 (non-anamorphic) recorded at 60i. The sequence preset I chose is in the AVCHD folder and is labeled 'AVCHD 1080i30 (60i)'. When I export and select the 'Windows Media' format, there is an option labeled 'Allow Interlaced Processing.' According to the Adobe documentation (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/PremierePro/4.0/WS81733643-B4A6-45c5-ABD7-D5A90EB388FC.html), this should be turned on if the source is interlaced and the output is progressive. Is this option intrinsic to Adobe Premiere or is it merely Premiere surfacing an option of the Windows Media codec? According to the Microsoft documentation (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/howto/articles/zerotohdsixty.aspx) of this option within Premiere, this option should only be checked if my output is destined for an interlaced display. To sum up, I don't understand exactly what this option is supposed to accomplish and I'd appreciate any feedback or pointers.
I am using Premiere Pro CS4
    Thank you,
    Matt

    Hi Ann,
Thanks for the reply!  So, I guess your answer means that the Adobe documentation is wrong because it says "Select this option if the video content in the sequence is interlaced and you are exporting to a noninterlaced medium."  Is my interpretation of your reply correct and should I therefore submit a correction request to Adobe?
    Thanks,
    Mat

  • Will the Zoom R16 work as an interface in Logic Pro X under Mountain Lion?

I've searched and found some indications that the Zoom R16 will work and has problems with earlier versions of Mac OS; so my question is actually will the R16 work under Mountain Lion (GB, Logic Pro, etc) as a control AND a recording interface?
I'll be using it on either a late 2011 MBP core i7 16GB Ram solid state HD (live playing, live recording) or on a late 2012 iMac core i7 32GB Ram solid state HD with Thunderbolt and USB3.0 outboard drives (recording).
Any input would be appreciated... I've been unable to definitely tell if it's an "install the driver, install Logic Pro, and then rock n roll" or it's a "doesn't work correctly, makes noise, crashed my system AND killed my pet rabbit" kind of thing.
    Thanks,
    Les

Thanks Art of Sound. I did see that post but it didn't give me a warm feeling about the Zoom.
My bad, I should have posted back after I messed around with this. It turned out that my problem was due to some kind of intermittent connection within the Zoom itself.
I got another one, and it's working fine now as a Mackie Control. It's a little arcane getting it hooked up in Logic (mostly due to inexperience on my part), but so far it seems to be working fine...
If I can spare anyone the frustration/confusion:
    Basically:
Download the latest and greatest Zoom R16 driver from their web site and install (I'm using OSX ML and it works fine with Logic Pro X).
Plug in Zoom R16 via USB 2.0 cable, (then on the Zoom itself, select USB, then AUDIO INTERFACE? (Enter), then SETTING? (Enter).
You may need to open Audio/Midi Preferences and set that to the ZOOM R16.
Open Logic and hopefully it sees the Zoom.
Under main Logic Pro X header, select Control Surfaces>Setup
Find and add "Mackie Control" (there are other ones, this one works, can't speak to the rest).
Then (and this is the part that I kept missing) make sure to select the Mackie Control (so it gets a blue box around it) and then make sure the Output Port and Input Port are set to Zoom R16_R24 using the little up/down arrow thingies at the right of each box. I didn't see these/figure out how to select at first... I'm a DA NOOB.
That's it. Open a new multitrack project, assign your inputs to channels, and off you go!
    Recording:
All inputs work, level control and faders (which aren't motorized, so it can be a little confusing at first)
Transport and control buttons work, the jog/shuttle is useful.
There are 5 function buttons that by default change the Logic screen setups (can be programmed differently)
Track button seems to mute/unmute only.
The on-board condenser mikes work, if you want them (channels 7 & 8 on the Zoom). Ugh.
Electric guitar direct in seems ok, and a Shure SM57 worked fine. I'll be working with some better mikes hopefully this weekend.
I have it working happily with a late 2011 MBPro, and a late 2012 iMac.
For the money, considering it's a stand-alone 8 track digital recorder (seems to work ok for that purpose so far) as well, it's actually sort of cool. Setup your mixdown in Logic as a wave project, and pull the files off the SD card (Zoom can be configured as a USB card reader easily). Will record at high sample rates allegedly.
I won't be so lazy in future, and I'll report my on-going experience with it.

iTunes randomly stops playing purchases that have previously viewed on the same hardware. It has an error message about HD. How can this issue be resolved?  What information is available besides the "learn more" option that does not deal with the problem?
Many people have the same problem. However, there is little or nothing readily available to users. This problem has existed for two or more years. Does anyone have anything to offer about this disturbing problem?

Thanks for the suggestion kcell. I've tried both versions
9.0.115 and 9.0.124 and both fail with the policy permission error.
I also tried with and without your crossdomain.xml file but
with the same result. It looks like this file is intended for URL
policy, instead of socket policy. Recently Adobe separated the two.
When I run with the files installed on my dev PC, it does
work, which makes sense because the flash player isn't loaded from
    an unknown domain.
I did get one step closer. If a crossdomain.xml in the server
root exists and the socketpolicy file is loaded from the app folder
then the first two warnings disappear. The logs now show:
    OK: Root-level SWF loaded:
    https://192.168.2.5/trunk/myapp.swf
    OK: Policy file accepted: https://192.168.2.5/crossdomain.xml

Warning: Timeout on xmlsocket://192.168.2.5:843 (at 3
seconds) while waiting for socket policy file. This should not
    cause any problems, but see
    http://www.adobe.com/go/strict_policy_files
    for an explanation.
Warning: [strict] Ignoring policy file with incorrect syntax:

requestor from https://192.168.2.5/trunk/myapp.swf is denied due to
    lack of policy file permissions.
Which basically says, everything is okay, but you stay out
    anyway.
PS: I found the XML schema files here:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashplayer/articles/fplayer9_security_02.html
    and the socket policy schema:
    http://www.adobe.com/xml/schemas/PolicyFileSocket.xsd.
UPDATE: When serving up the policy file on port 843 using the
example perl script then the socket connection seems to be accepted
and the connect succeeds. After that flex hangs trying to logon to
    the IMAP server.

  • New user:  I can't find the zoom option (to try and sync audio tracks/sources wav to a clap)

Hi guys.  I LOVE the rendering speed/quality etc of single videos but I'm running into trouble syncing videos/audio from 3 sources.  Basically I have a Nikon D7000 and an Iphone taking two angles of me playing guitar.  I want to sync all of them to an audio clap or a click but I can't seem to find the zoom option where I can get right in on the wav files to match the peaks of the clap.  I am also having trouble with the video clips I am dragging seem to lock magnetically to other clips or wherever my playback marker is.  I want the clips to drag/move freely (and tiny increments) and not lock into any time interval etc.
I also would like to find the mute button for some of the tracks.  It seems to be really basic stuff, but I can't seem to locate anything obvious to zoom, drag and get my timeline in sync.
It took me a long time to sync my audio to an iphone angle for this clip:
    http://youtu.be/4B9TMQg9KXQ?list=UUd_A29XG4JvzkyGNcuXcuiQ
My D7000 is a MUCH better image, but juggling that, my iphone angle and the audio that gets recorded by my DAW is a struggle.  Any tips would be appreciated!

Thanks for the reply with details of your Premiere Elements version and computer operating system.
    1. Zooming in on clap in wave form of audio - assorted maneuvers
You could always change the audio track size, but that is not going to give you anywhere near the detail that you will get by
alt clicking the audio portion of the Timeline file (to temporarily unlink audio from the video and then double clicking that Timeline
audio file to bring up its waveform in the Preview Window and noting the clap time at playback there.
With the video and audio relink again, as you can hold down the alt key and tap the left or right arrow key, you can move the Timeline linked clip from right to left or left to right
for alignment purposes to the clap time.
When you need only the video portion of the video audio linked file in the Preview Windows, then you omit the alt click on the audio portion.
If needed, you could always set unnumbered markers at the Timeline level or in the Preview Windows.
For Timeline video audio nudges....as you hold down the alt key and tap the right or left arrow key once, you get a one frame nudge per tap.
As you hold down the Shift+Alt and tap the right or left arrow key once, you get a five frames nudge per tap.
    On other matters...
    2. Please look at right clicking the Timeline and looking a Snap option enabled and disabled.
    3. I will think about it some more but I do not see any way to mute the audio for a whole audio track. You can mute the audio for clips on that audio track but not
shut off the audio to that one particular audio track. If you wanted to do audio clip muting for more than 1 clip at a time, I could see
    a. copy first file that you muted through Adjust Tab/Adjustments/Volume Panel expanded and
    b. then do a Paste Effects and Adjustments for a selection of all of the other audio files on that particular track.
    Just some thoughts

  • My question is about the 'Restore Backup' option on iTunes (Not 'Restore iPhone'). So, if I click on Back Up Now, then 'Restore Backup', would that go through the process of erasing everything on my phone as new then restore whatever iTunes has backed up?

My question is about the 'Restore Backup' option on iTunes (Not 'Restore iPhone'). So, if I click on Back Up Now, then 'Restore Backup', would that go through the process of erasing everything on my phone as new then restore whatever iTunes has backed up?
I do not want this to happen, as with previous experience iTunes doesn't restore a mirror of what the iPhone was when it was backed up as is the case with iCloud backups.
What I am trying to do is, as I've found a method on Youtube, there is an application where I can delete all the multimedia saved in my 'iMessages' so clear up some space. As doing that manually through the phone would take a lifetime. The method is to backup on iTunes, then using the backup created, importing that into the application then deleting the messages through that then restoring the phone using that amended backup.
So back to my question, would restoring through 'Restore Backup' just restore the backup internally or would it flush the entire phone and then restore the backup? And if it does so, what would be lost in the restore?
    Thank you all,
    Fahmid

iCloud should overwrite your phone with the data stored in your account, preserving your newer data.  However, to be sure I would go to Settings>iCloud and turn data syncing to Off before restoring the backup.  Then, after restoring the backup, turn the data syncing back to on, and when prompted about Merging with iCloud, choose Don't Merge.  This will ensure that the data in your iCloud account overwrites the data on your phone (which is your goal).
Also, you don't sync text messages with iCloud so you will end up losing your more recent messages when they are overwritten by the backup.

  • Know more detail about the Remote Support Platform for SAP Business One ?

SAP Business One 9.1 is about to release this year and we can see in the feature enhancements that a significant update is planned in the Remote Support Platform for SAP Business One, more commonly known as RSP. Let’s have a quick look what update is planned for RSP in version 9.1:
Enhancements planned in Remote Support Platform for SAP Business One 9.1
RSP is planned to support both SAP Business One on Microsoft SQL Server as well as SAP Business One on HANA Database
RSP Processes and Reports adapted to SAP HANA Database
With this plan RSP will help in the areas of Download, Installation, Go-Live Check, Monitoring, Upgrade and Support for SAP Business One both   on SQL Server and HANA.
But like me (non-SAP B1 Consultant) many of you have the question what is RSP and how it helps in support? Here I have tried to gather all information.
What is Remote Support Platform for SAP Business One?
The remote support platform for SAP Business One is designed to protect a SAP Business One installation by providing automated and remote support in a high-volume business.
The platform monitors the entire SAP Business One environment. By significantly reducing the time between the appearance, identification, and resolution of issues, the remote support platform for SAP Business One minimizes the impact on customer databases and processes.
Some Key Features of Remote Support Platform:
Showing alerts to SAP B1 Admin about the events which require their attention, such as low disk space, database backups, etc.
Incident Reports against the issues identified which require attention of SAP Support
Company Database Backup and Restore options
Regular fixes of Company Database inconsistencies
Check, Download and Install regular updates in SAP Business One
Upload Logs and required files to SAP Support or to Partner Support on regular basis
Some details about RSP Backup Management
Schedule daily, weekly, and monthly backups
Perform differential and full database backups
    Back up transaction logs
Back up files to shared folders on a network
    System Status Report through RSP
From June 1st 2013, it will be mandatory to install, configure and upload the System Status Report (SSR) from Remote Support Platform (RSP) for SAP Business One in order to receive support for messages of a technical nature (upgrades, performance & crashes, etc).
    Database uploads only via RSP
From June 1st 2013 SAP Business One Support will only accept database uploads to SAP via remote support platform for SAP Business One. In certain exceptional circumstances STFP may be used but this will constitute a minority of cases.
    Microsoft Windows PowerShell Scripting
In the remote support platform studio, you can create tasks using Microsoft Windows PowerShell scripting. PowerShell enables you to perform remote administrative tasks on customers’ Microsoft Windows operating systems, by providing full access to Component Object Model (COM) and Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI).Some Network Prerequisite for RSP
To achieve the internet connection test, you must allow port 80 for the RSP external communication
Disabling antivirus firewall or add the RSP to the trusted zone of the antivirus
    Set the correct proxy
Disabling Windows firewall in the TP_link Wireless Configuration Utility

  • Learning more about the features in PS touch

I was looking at PS touch, maybe for my ipod mini.
I was hoping to get more of a sense of what the features are, but it seems Adobe has replaced information with hype, giving us the Disney version of what their programs are about.
I'd like to know more about the features of PS Touch, specifically:
I assume I can use layers, but do they have modes such as darken, lighten, overlay, soft light, etc?
Can I create masks in these layers, so I have control over which part of the layer is applied to the image?
Does the curves tool have more than 3 points to adjust, can you add points as with full PS?
If I was working off my camera's memory card hooked up to the iPod mini, can I then do a save as of the image I'm working on, either saving it to the card or my device (in part to create a new image and to also keep the original) ?
It's very frustrating that this information is not more readily available to us. also, I may have missed it, but i didn't see a link to the forums from the Adobe pages, not under Learning, or about Adobe, or?
    Regards, David

    In order:
Yes, PS Touch uses layer blending modes just like in Photoshop (and Photoshop Elements). It doesn't have *every* blending mode, but the basics (like the ones you listed) are there.
The best that I can explain it as far as "masks" in PS Touch goes is that you paint your desired effect onto your image (via the Effects Paint tool). You do not need a mask layer per se as the effect is contained as you paint over the desired area. (You can adjust size, hardness, flow and opacity of the brush in this tool. If you have a tablet with pressure-senstive support, you can control size and opacity as well dynamically like you would with a Wacom graphics tablet connected to a desktop.)
You can add/subtract as many points as you want in the Curves adjustment. (There's a general Curves adjustment and one provided under the Effects Paint tool; both use the same interface for options.)
I don't think so, as the file system in PS Touch is self-contained (at least under Android; not sure about iOS). When you go to save a project, it's added into the main interface. (You can create folders to manage these projects, btw.) You can then export projects under a desired file type (like PSD or JPEG) locally or to a service like Adobe's own Creative Cloud or Dropbox.

When Firefox is open the zoom function (option/command/space bar) does not work in Adobe programs (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator). This happens only when Firefox is open and when I close it the zoom functions work fine again without having to restart the applications.
This is intermittent but happens quite frequently each day if Firefox is active.

MDN doesn't mention -chrome being used for ordinary web pages: https://developer.mozilla.org/docs/Mozilla/Command_Line_Options#Chrome
    When I use

I get a usable window, but zoom doesn't work as you noted.
How about using an intermediate page and window.open() for the target page? You can (mostly) restrict the chrome of windows opened that way, but it will leave behind the intermediate window...

How do I activate the zoom option in my folders?

Open System Preferences>Accessibility a blue icon in the 4th row down. In the list, select Zoom. Enable "Use keyboard shortcuts to zoom" and set your options with the button. Instructions are there, 10.8 has more options for the visually impaired that really help.
