Access "controls" or buttons on a LabVIEW VI with DLL

Hello Experts,
I have a LabVIEW GUI executable file and need to access "control" or buttons on it via another programming lanuguage (Visual Basic .NET) say if the user presses a "EXIT" button on the VB.NET GUI, it goes and clicks the "EXIT" button on the LabVIEW GUI. Is this possible to do using LabVIEW built DLL's ? If not, could you please guide me to the right apprach ?
Thank you very much for your time !

Yes, the front panel comes up after my calling but I am not able to access any "controls" or buttons on it. However, if now (after calling) I manually click on this front panel, it works but I want my VB.NET code to be able to do that.
Our vendor owns the source code and they only provide the executable file to be able to communicate to their mechanical system. We, as a OEM, integrate their mechanical system into our system and provide our end customers with the VB code that controls the entire system.

  • How to send a command from a vc++.exe to LABVIEW.exe in order to control the button on the LABVIEW.exe

Hello, everyone. Using VC++, I have gotten the handle of a *.exe(built by Labview), but I cannot get the button handle. I want to get the button handle and post the message to control the button. How can I do that? When I use the SPY++, the *.exe(built by Labview) have not any child windows which is very different from the *.exe(built by VC++). In SPY++, what is the LVDChild class? How can I send the message to control the button on *.exe(built by Labview)???
That is  to send a command from a vc++.exe to LABVIEW.exe in order to control the button on the LABVIEW.exe. How can I get it ?
    Thank you!

Checkout the LabVIEW ActiveX server interface in the User Manual in Chapter 20, Windows Connectivity and the VI Server Reference in Chapter 17, Programmatically Controlling VIs.
There is a sample for Visual Basic under examples/comm/VBtoLV.frm, which should be quite simple to translate to Visual C as long as you can figure out the basics of ActiveX programming in VC (I have never done anything with ActiveX in VC). For those basics I would recommend some text book or MSDN.

  • LabView interface with DLL that uses ActiveX

I've written a DLL using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005. This DLL uses ActiveX (MSXML4.0). It works fine being called from other applications created in Microsoft Visual Studio. It crashes being called from LabView 7.1. By commenting out everything, I've figured out that it crashes on the call to ActiveX (no problems if this call is commented out). What should I do to make it work?
I've tried using CoInitialize at the initialization of DLL; it didn't solve the problem.
Additional information: DLL is using MFC in a Static Library, not using ATL, Character set = Not Set.
The functions are defined in C calling convention (not __stdcall).
    Please help.
    Thank you.
    Irina Kaliniouk

Thank you for your answer, but that is not the case. There is no UI in this DLL, but it is using some convinenient MFC classes, like threads, CString, etc. The threading really was not even involved in the example that crashed. The function that crashed was
selectNodes on MSXML2::IXMLDOMNodePtr. Here is the code:
MSXML2::IXMLDOMNodeListPtr selectNodes (LPCTSTR expression, MSXML2::IXMLDOMNodePtr pStartNode)
    CComBSTR quesryBstr (expression);
    return pStartNode->selectNodes (quesryBstr.m_str); //_bstr_t(expression));
where the pStartNode was a root node of
    MSXML2::IXMLDOMDocument2Ptr m_pXMLDoc;
    hr = m_pXMLDoc.CreateInstance ("Msxml2.DOMDocument.4.0", NULL, CLSCTX_INPROC_SERVER);
I commented out really everything except this function, so there was nothing to corrupt the memory or any other problems.
What can be of a problem?
    Thanks.

  • GRC Access Control licensing and Sizing

    Dear All,
I am putting up a proposal for GRC Access Control. Could someone please help me with the calculation of licensing cost and the hardware requirements?
    1. Is the license cost totally driven by revenue ?
    2. Is there a flat base price plus number of user accounts?
    3. What sort of hardware config is required?
    Thanks,
    Aj

Please ask your SAP account contact for pricing information.

    Hi Ambarish,
For AC5.3 a SAP NW AS 7.0 SP12 or higher is required as by advised by SAP.
Pls go through the following presentation from SAP GRC RIG team on SAP GRC Access Control 5.3 Pre-installation requirements

  • HT3477 Why would a Guest network need an Access Control List?

I have an Airport Extreme running software 7.6.4 and I have figured out today, to my dismay, that because I have an Access Control List active on my main network (with MAC addresses of my devices), the Guest Network feature, as implemented, becomes simply useless.
Essentially any friend coming at my place, to whom I want to share my internet connection for a while (say, a couple of hours) with an easy password, either provides me with the MAC address of his device, or has no access at all. And if he has to give me the MAC, then I could just simply add him to the main network in the first place and, BTW, I need to give him also the (complicated) password of my main network.
What is the purpose of a Guest Network then, if it is subject to the same access restrictions of the main one? I need to remove the access list on my main one, to offer quick and easy access to friends and family defeating the purpose of protecting my main network with MAC addresses and a separate guest network?
I don't get it. This is a bug. It has to be. I see no logic in it, in the way it is implemented. Or it should have 2 separate access lists, for flexibility. But a *Guest* network, should be by definition open, or easy access (with password, sure, if necessary) - and in case it should have restricted access, it should be by time maybe, not by MAC address....!

Why would a Guest Network need an Access Control List
The short answer would be that it would not need an Access Control listing......if you used the default settings in Timed Access.
Sorry, but I do not understand how you have constructed your Timed Access control list.
Normally, you would use the default settings and leave the "main" (and "guest") networks set for Unlimited Access.....and then only list the devices that you want to limit separately, establishing "rules" and timeframes for each device that you want to control.
When you do it the default way, a user would be able to connect to the Guest Network at any time, provided that he/she had the password for the guest network. No MAC Address needed at all.
If you wanted to limit the time that the "guest" could connect to the guest network, you would have to set up a "rule" for the guest. I would not normally think of limiting the time that a guest could connect.....(unless the guest were one of the grandkids).
It sounds to me as if you might have set the default network setting to No Access, and you have then set up each device with the times that they would be allowed to connect.
If you did it this way, then the default No Access would also apply to the Guest Network....and any guest would have to then be set up by MAC Address with a rule set for the times that they were allowed to connect.
Personally, I have changed the default rule for the "main" (and guest) networks from Unlimited Access to Everyday between 7:00 AM and 11:30 PM. So no one on either the main or guest network can connect before 7:00 AM or after 11:30 PM.
Then, there are a few rules that I have for devices that connect to the guest network to further limit them to certain times each day. You could do this as well for devices that you want to control on the "main" network.

  • Embedding MS Accessibility controls into pdf document.

I have a pdf form running fine in a server with Adobe Proffesional 8.0,  We need to update to Adobe Pro 9.0 or Adobe Pro 10.  The app is not performing well in those higer versions of Adobe Pro because we need to capture data from a pop up window to name an output file, but the data can no be scraped from the pop up window.  I heard that the problem can be circumvented by embedding MS Accessibility Controls into the form.  Can sombody please help me understand what is "embedding MS Accessibility Controls into a pdf form"?
    Thanks

We have the pdf rendered in a JVM in an Intranet.  The pdf is displayed using Adobe Prod 8.0, when all the required data is captured from a phone interview, a button (click) triggers a WebService to execute and send a file to a Lenux Server.

  • How do I call a LabView VI via dll to display its control panel in a tab of my uir in LabWindows

    Hi User Community,
I am trying to build a LabWindows Top Level Control Panel to call individual LabView VI's, which have been compiled into a dll.
I have no problem using the CmtScheduleThreadPoolFunction to start a new thread that calls these VI's however, I'm having trouble trying to get the display that comes up in it's own window to display in a tab of my existing UIR.
I've compiled the DLLs to always display the VI Control Panel window when running - and usually it covers the whole screen you can't see the LabWindows window until the VI completes.
Is there a definitive guide to LabWindows Windows/Panels/Tabs? Or does anyone have experience with this? Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello,
I would suggest reviewing the Programming with Panels and Programming with Tabs CVI Help documents.  I think that this can be done with the LoadPanelEx function.  Let me know how it goes!
As well, I found some example code to get you started.

  • GRC Access Control 5.3 Organizational Levels - logical AND - OR changed

    Hello GRC Community,
We are working with Access Control 5.3 SP 12 and we are setting up organization levels for the risk analysis.
The setup is loaded with a flat file, and the configurations seems to be loaded in the right way.
Doing the configuration on the RAR portal, openning the tab "rule architect" then "organization rules" and "create", we have this information:
    Organization Rule: Z001
    Description: TEST
Risk             Organization Level     from            to             search type     Status
    F001*     BUKRS               PRE0                  AND                  Enabled
    F001*     EKORG               PR00                 OR                  Enabled
    F001*     EKORG               PR01                 OR                  Enabled
    F001*     EKORG               RP00                 AND                  Enabled
    F001*     VKORG               RP00                 OR                  Enabled
    F001*     VKORG               RP01                 OR                  Enabled
    F001*     VKORG               RP02                 AND                  Enabled
    F001*     WERKS               SV00                 OR                  Enabled
    F001*     WERKS               VS00                 OR                  Enabled
    Finally save button.
When we want to edit an organization rule or add new one with the screen of organization rules, after saving we have the next result when load the rule again:
In the case of the same organization rule (Z001), the RAR returns this info:
    Organization Rule: Z001
    Description: TEST
Risk             Organization Level     from            to             search type     Status
    F001*     BUKRS               PRE0                  AND                  Enabled
    F001*     EKORG               PR00                 OR                  Enabled
    F001*     EKORG               PR01                 OR                  Enabled
    F001*     EKORG               RP00                 OR                  Enabled
    F001*     VKORG               RP00                 OR                  Enabled
    F001*     VKORG               RP01                 OR                  Enabled
    F001*     VKORG               RP02                 OR                  Enabled
    F001*     WERKS               SV00                 OR                  Enabled
    F001*     WERKS               VS00                 OR                  Enabled
So the RAR has changed the logical AND for OR.
Why is it happening?  This effect doesnt happen if i made an upload from a ftlat file of organizational rules.
We already tryed this symptom doing the same exercise with RAR SP 14 with the same issue.
Thanks in advance for all your comments

  • Configure Access Control Owner screen

    Hi All,
I am working on SAP GRC project and it's very new to me. I have one user and that user has Access control owners screen.
This role displaying all the Central Owner in the table. When I click one role than Open button gets activated. When i click open button it's navigating to Owner assignment screen in Central Owner Administration. In here i am having two doubts,
    1. Is this possible to create duplicate screen of Owner assignment screen
    2. If possible how to configure that in Access Control Owners screen.
Your valuable answers will be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Kathiresan R

    Hi Kathiresan,
its not possible for creating duplicate entries for one user with similar owner administration in Access Control Owners tab.
and it is possible, for one user we can able to assign multiple responsibilities.
Once we are in to Access control Owners screen
-> select the user id which you want assign additional responsibility like Risk Owner, MC owner and FF role owner etc.
-->Click on open button and select multiple responsibilities and save the data.
And make sure that user should have the required roles before assigning the responsibilities in access control owners.
    Thanks,
    Siva

Actually I am not sure that matters with HFM and you can go direct through 28080 or 19000, worth a try, if not maybe it just needs registering again as Pablo said.

  • Can't Add To Access Control List Airport Express

We have both Airport Extreme (2) and Express Base Stations (3) to create a wireless network. On the Extremes I can click the Add button in Access Control in the Airport Admin Utility to add people to the list. On all the Express Base Staions I can edit or delete entries already on the list but can't add any new ones. I can export an Access Control List but not import one. The button is greyed out only the button works. I could add to the lists in the past and I'm not sure when it stopped working. The network structure and settings have not changed. Has anyone heard of this problem?

  • More than 1 user access control of vi via web browser

    Hi all,
Currently I've a vi that need to share it with other PCs using web browser (eg: IE) I've tried using Web Publishing Tools and I noticed that only 1 pc at a time can grant access control of the vi. May I know is there any methods or other 3rd party software that could possibly able to give multiple PCs to control one vi simultaneously over the net using web browser? THANKS!!!...

environment so I suppose this would be ok…
I found a tutorial which might help.  Check out: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/conceptd.nsf/webmain/bc79065d8b2e0d0886256c590072a454.
Hopefully this will help out for now!  Let us know if you have questions-
