Access Denied on ListView Web Part
I have a SharePoint App that I am creating for SharePoint Online. I am leveraging the out of the box SharePoint Snippet in Visual Studio using the listview snippet.
List View Snippet:
<WebPartPages:WebPartZone runat="server" FrameType="TitleBarOnly" ID="full" Title="loc:full">
<WebPartPages:XsltListViewWebPart runat="server"
ListUrl="https://mySite.sharepoint.com/sites/spdev/demo/Lists/TestList1/AllItems.aspx"
IsIncluded="True"
JsLink="clientTemplate.js"
NoDefaultStyle="TRUE"
PageType="PAGE_NORMALVIEW"
Default="False"
ViewContentTypeId="0x">
</WebPartPages:XsltListViewWebPart>
</WebPartPages:WebPartZone>
The Snippet works great when I'm using a list that I create in Visual Studio but not when I'm trying to read a list that exists on the parent site (within the same site collection). The error I'm getting is:
Untitled
Access denied. You do not have permission to perform this action or access this resource.
However, I have given Full Control to multiple things (in an attempt to get around this error). But I still receive the same message every time.
Is there something that I'm doing wrong?
List Resides At: https://mySite.sharepoint.com/sites/spdev/demo/Lists/TestList1/AllItems.aspx
Web Pat Is At: https://mySite.sharepoint.com/sites/spdev/demo/mySiteListView/Pages/Default.aspx
What am I doing wrong? Is it possible to access a list from a subsite within the same site collection?
Thanks in advance for any helpful input!
Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to add a list in host web to your app.
For the error message, it may related to the app permission accessing to host web list.
I suggest you can try add permission to AppManifest.xml file like below and test whether it works.
<AppPermissionRequests>
<AppPermissionRequest Scope="http://sharepoint/content/sitecollection/web/list"
Right="Read"/>
</AppPermissionRequests>

XSLT List View Web Part Error when Using Group By
I have a Tasks List created a tasks list in SharePoint. The Tasks (normal OOTB template) list works fine in the normal view, however, I have created an XSLT ListView Web Part that points to this tasks list. When I set the web part to display
a view with a "Group By" rule, it returns an error:
"Attempted to use an object that has ceased to exist. (Exception from HRESULT:
0x80030102 (STG_E_REVERTED))
The list has just over 1000 items and the threshold is set to 5000, I have tried indexing the column that I am "grouping by" just in case and that has not worked.
Has anyone experienced this issue before? If so, what steps can be done to display the XSLT List View Web Part properly?Thank you for the response. I tried the above link and it didn't seem to solve the issue; in fact, when I clicked on Common Control Tasks there wasn't any Data View Tasks such Filter and Sort & Group.
Perhaps some more information would shed light on a solution. I created a list template including content of the task list in question. I was able to display the new list in an XSLT List View Web part with grouping enabled. However, I noticed that
the "Related Content" column was completely empty (it was there, it just had no data in each row). What is the source of this Related Content? I know it is a system column that appears when Workflows generate the item in the list but could it be the
reason for the Web part being unable to display with groupings? -
List View Web Part - Default Chrome Setting
In our environment, the "Default" chrome setting does not display the title or the border on our list view pages. We have tried Oslo and Seattle master pages and neither displays this to the end user. We do see the title in Edit mode, but
not once the page is saved. If we switch it to Title Only, it does display.
Is this the correct behavior? If so, is there an easy way to change the chrome setting to "Title Only" for the list view web parts in one particular web application when a view is created?That is the default behavior. normally, the listview web part is on a page where the title of the library is displayed on the page, which would make it redundant to display it in the web part only. I don't know any way to change this behavior
by default when creating a new view.

This error IS on the WEB PART GALLERY itself. I have dealt with it on other libraries by deleting the listview web part and adding a dataview web part.
However, if you try to add a dataview web part the web part gallery the gallery is not available under lists or libraries so their is no way to add.
I have also tried creating other views as suggested by some articles
I have the view application pages permission as suggested by other articles.
I believe I have read every article related and am unable to find an answer.
Any help on this would be appreciated.
As a side note, I have an option called "Manage Columns" when I go into the library settings for the Web Part Gallery. Is this normal or is it some sort of add on.
Thanks for listening ==Lee
--LeeSame problem, but with sharepoint 2013 after upgrade. Will post if i find a solution.
Seems like it is getting a 401 error on some URLs from fiddler. Here is a working list on a different site, same web application. the 200s are the working list and the 401s are the non working ones.

Access denied for 10yr old on Plants vs zombies
So I bought PS4 PvsZ for my 10 year old, then bought Playstation Plus, then set up a Sub Account for him to play with his friends, then get Access Denied *****. reading some web info, is it correct it will make no difference If I change restrictions under parental controls because I put in his actual DOB ie 10. This is a rip off and misleading..now what, false ID for juniors/children insane.
This stuff drives me nuts. The chances are my kids are going to be playing some type of version of a PS7 or Xboner 4. I may as well set them up with adult accounts and make sure I monitor their gaming. That way when they have 100000 Gamerscore by 18 and have failed all their tests to get into University - I can be proud!

JSLinks affects multiple web parts
I have a page with two list view web parts one pointing to pages library and another to a custom list and created custom jslinks to render them and notice that one of the two jslinks affects both web parts, the second jslink has no effect. How to restrict
the jslink effect to only the web part which it is assigned to.
Secondly, I read about BaseViewID and ListTemplateType, assuming i have multiple custom lists on the same page how to control which web parts will be affected since all will be having the same ListTemplateType.
ThanksHi Shafeeq,
I've been trying to resolve the problem for some time now and have finally found the answer. I've blogged on it here.
http://www.myfatblog.co.uk/index.php/2013/09/listview-web-part-issues-with-jslink-and-display-templates-a-solution/
The basic synopsis is, we register our display template against a BaseViewID of 99, we then override the RenderListView javascript supplied by Microsoft, perform logic on the context object, changing the baseviewid on the fly as required, then calling the
original RenderListView function.
I hope this helps.
Paul.

Access denied error while adding visual web part
i am trying to create visual web part using client side code in SharePoint 2013.
i am able to deploy my web part but when I try to add it on a page it says " Access denied. You do not have permission to perform this action or access this resource" and when i try to debug it it shows exception: "The remote server returned
an error: (500) Internal Server Error."
Following is the code:
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
var ClientContext = new ClientContext("http://172.20.30.100:1111/");
//SP.ClientContext.get_current();
Web web = ClientContext.Web;
ClientContext.Load<Web>(web);
ClientContext.ExecuteQuery();
var BU = web.Title;
ListCollection ListColl = web.Lists;
List list = ListColl.GetByTitle("LNT_Testimonial");
CamlQuery CmlQry = new CamlQuery();
CmlQry.ViewXml = @"<View>
<Query>
<Where>
<Eq>
<FieldRef Name='BU' />
<Value Type='Text'>" + BU + @"</Value>
</Eq>
</Where>
</Query>
<RowLimit>1</RowLimit>
</View>";
Microsoft.SharePoint.Client.ListItemCollection items = list.GetItems(CmlQry);
ClientContext.Load<ListCollection>(ListColl);
ClientContext.Load<List>(list);
ClientContext.Load<Microsoft.SharePoint.Client.ListItemCollection>(items);
ClientContext.ExecuteQuery();
//var testimonial = items.FieldValues["testimonial"];
foreach (Microsoft.SharePoint.Client.ListItem item in items)
var testimonial = item.FieldValues["testimonial"];
regards, Ritesh AnandI'm not sure if you are trying to create visual webpart or doing something else? As I understand from your code, maybe, you are trying to access list item. If you have access to the server (on-premise), you can check the ULS log for details of the error.
Is it access denied or 'internal server errror'. If it's internal server error then more details can be found in SharePoint ULS log. About reporting service, not sure if it's related to your original question. Please try to use a single post to focus on single
problem.

ORA-31050:Access denied when trying enabling the database-native Web servic
Dear all,
I'm trying to follow the instruction of OBE about "Using Oracle XML DB Web Services for Service-Oriented Architecture " as this url http://st-curriculum.oracle.com/obe/db/11g/r1/prod/datamgmt/xmldb2_b/xmldb2_b.htm#http .
I would like to enable the database-native Web service end point in Oracle XML DB and I already execute the script to create Web Service Endpoint.
Anyway, I got the following error.

Excel web access web part Refresh
Dear All,
Please let me adress my SharePoint issues to you.
Current situation:
I currently have an excel file stored in one of my sharepoint libraries.
The excel file has two tabs.
The first tab contains data exported from a sharepoint list (with data connection)
The second tab has a customized table based on the first tab.
I created a page and added a Excel Web Access web part. The above mentioned excel file (tab2) is viewed in this web part.
Problem:
Everytime I change something in my sharepoint list, the changes will not be viewed in the web part. The changes will only view when I open the excel file in the library first, and then save it.
Question:
Is there a way I can refresh the data automatically, or manually without having to leave the page of the web part?
If anyone has a solution please let me know, thank you for your help!
Bobyou can configure automatic data refresh. fairly simple. this article is for SQL data source, but the same process applies across the board.

How to List view web part to display document library for only users with access permission
Hi
I am trying to accomplish this requirement but I don't know if that is possible or how to get there. Any suggestion or advice are helpful.
On a site collection, I have several document libraries, with each library have unique permission to a few user or SharePoint group.
I want to create a web part page and make that the site home page. On this web part page, I want to create a Content Search Web Part to list the content of the document library that the logged on users have permission to see.
Is this possible with CSWP or is there anything easier or if it is not possible at all, please advise.
Thanks
SwanlHi ,
Based on your description, my understanding is that you want to create a Content Search Web Part to list the documents that the logged on users have access permission.
It is feasible with CSWP, you can follow the below step:
Edit Content Search Web Part->Change query-> Select a query: Items matching a content type (System); Restrict by app: Current site collection; Restrict by content type: Document.

Access Denied Web Application with Claims authentication NTLM only when using secondary URL
I have a SharePoint 2010 server farm with 2 web front ends, an application server and a database server. Both front ends are internal to
our network and are not behind a load balancer.
NOTE THAT I HAD TO SUBSTITUTE hzzp with hzzp so that I had no links in the body of this post since I am not verified
I setup a new web application called "SharePoint 41171" with:
Public URL:
hzzp://testserver1:41171
Claims authentication
NTLM only: no forms auth
No SSL
New web site "SharePoint 41171"
New app pool
New content database
I create a top level site collection and name mydomain\myusername as the primary site collection admin
I am able to access this site as expected at
hzzp://testserver1:41171 with the aforementioned site collection owner id: mydomain\myusername
I add an alternate access mapping for a secondary URL for this web application in the Intranet zone:
hzzp://iwatest.mydomain.com
So my AAMs for the site read as:
hzzp://testserver1:41171
Default hzzp://testserver1:41171
hzzp://iwatest.mydomain.com
Intranet hzzp://iwatest.mydomain.com
When I attempt to log on to
hzzp://iwatest.mydomain.com with the same user name and password, I get "access denied".
I can access this site using
hzzp://iwatest.mydomain.com if I log in as the farm account. This is the only account that seems to work.
Side Note: If I create a separate web application without claims - just NTLM and create the same AAMs, I can login fine with the same secondary
URL and the same user name
IP address properly maps to this machine.
I reviewed the ULS logs and find the following:

Basically it tells me that access is denied. I didnt see anything that stood out here.
I found this article:
hzzp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointadminprevious/thread/ded9188b-ee03-4ef0-bb50-3ad138110e0c, which pointed me in the direction of ensuring that the portal
super user and portal reader accounts were properly added to my web application. I followed the every popular article on doing this:
hzzp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff758656.aspx, but still no luck. As per the thread, I added the 2 domain accounts to the user policy with appropriate privilege
and then set them as the super user and super reader accounts via powershell, and yes I did prefix those names with "i:0#.w|mydomain\". To be exta sure, I repeated this for all web applications on this server with slightly different powershell steps
depending on wether or not claims was enabled on the web application.
The Claims to Windows Token Service is running.
I saw some mention of ensuring that the secure token service is running with a proper application pool account, but we are not running that service
and I cant imagine what that would have to do with my situation.
I have deleted and readded the web application and repeated these steps to no better effect.
I gave the mydomain\myusername full control for the web application through the user policy, ensured that it was indeed the primary site collection
owner and added it to the default site owners group. None of this helped.
I changed the application pool account to the farm account. No change in behavior.
Rebooted IIS and the machines many times along the way.
Further, when I attempt to sign in as a different user after being denied, I get "an unexpected error has occured message. I found the following

By the way, this occurs for the farm account also after a successful login and an attempt to sign in as a different user.
Any help would be greatly appreciatedThanks spadminspadmin:
I have, though I am not sure that what I've added there is correct:
The URL that I am trying to use to access the web application's IIS site is hxxp://iwatest.mydomain.com. I added a binding to the IIS site as follows:
Type Host name port IP address
http iwatest.mydomain.com 41171 *
Is that correct? -
Timerjob Access denied error while opening web object
Hi Team,
I have created a timer job to get list information on the site. Everything is fine in the development(Stand alone server) . Got access denied error while running same timer job in QA server(one app and one WFE).
Note: This timer job is globally deployed.
Code snippet :
SPSite site1 = webApp.Sites[0];
SPWeb web = site1.RootWeb;
SPSecurity.RunWithElevatedPrivileges(delegate()
using (SPSite site = new SPSite(site1.ID))
using (SPWeb currWeb = site.OpenWeb(web.ID)) // Got access denied error here.
Additional information:
Sharepoint timer service account : Domain\SP_Farm
Site app pool account : Domain\SP_App.
Both accounts have site collection administrative access on the site. Do i need to check access permissions on DB level also this error ?
Waiting for urgent reply..Hi,
