Access pin/password users CCM 6.0

Hi,
I have some applications developed to CCM 4.3, and now I have to make them work with CCM 6.0.
My problem is that I need to access to the information pin/password of the users.
I have been study the Cisco Unified Communications Manager 6.0(1) Database Dictionary and Cisco Unified Communications Manager Developers Guide for Release 6.0(1).pdf. I can access the credential table in the database making an AXL request, but I don't know if this value “<CREDENTIALS>B1E093371D17A602638DFF87FF303F31DCBD9A5848BD9DB57424EB04F2537503</CREDENTIALS>” that is the pin or password. Is this with some kind of encryption?
The dictionary manual tells that “AXL and all applications access passwords and PINs only via IMS libraries”, where can I found information about it?
Thank you
Ana

doAuthenticateUser allows you to verify both pin and password (either or.. depending on the parameters you give).. but there's no way to read out the pin/password for us regular folks.. only cisco internal apps can do that.
using updateUser you can update a user's password/pin so basically you have everything you need except pin recovery. If you need to develop a pin recovery tool (eg. for a helpdesk), you'd just give them the ability to set a new pin (or password) for the user and be done with that.. it is after all the same procedure for an IT admin when you lose the password for your domain account or some IT service your company offers its employees.

    It looks like the adapter engine is not able to register him self on SLD, you have to check in the SLD the "Exchange Infrastructure" domain, you have to verify restarting the J2EE the adapter engine update the entries in the SLD related to the specific XI Domain.
    Launch Visual Administrator >> Server >> Services >> SAP AF CPA Cache
    Enter the appropriate values for:
    SLD.selfregistration.hostname (Use fully qualified hostname)
    SLD.selfregistration.httpPort
    SLD.selfregistration.httpsPort

  • Error while reading access data (URL, user, password) for the Adapter Engin

    Hi all,
    I encountered a red flag in sxmb_moni and when I click on the flag, I get the following message:
    Error while reading access data (URL, user, password) for the Adapter Engine
    Is there any way I can resolve this? thanks all
    Regards,
    IX

    Possible reason is Adapter engine is not registered on SLD. Check in SLD.
    You can also try restarting J2EE adapter engine and update SLD entries specific to XI domain.
    Lauch Visual admin go to Server > services > SAP AF CPA Cache
    Enter the appropriate values for:
    SLD.selfregistration.hostname (Use fully qualified hostname)
    SLD.selfregistration.httpPort
    SLD.selfregistration.httpsPort
    Finally, if all the above seem to be correct check the userID / pwd for user ID : PI*.

    Hi friends...
    I've read the last post...
    The problem that I have is as follow....
    1. I have installed on my machine MySQL 5.0 Server running
    1.1 I have a database called "base1"
    1.2 User "root", password "works"
    1.3 I have the following sentence to connect it using JDBC
    Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql://localhost/base1", "root", "works");
    More notes:
    - I use the JDBC 5.0
    - My Machine is a Windows XP SP2 Pentium 3.0 512Mb
    and it connects
    but I have this environment to develop applications, now that I want to connect to Production Environment happens the following:
    2 The Production database is mounted on a Linux Server with MySQL 3.2.
    2.1 I change the sentences as follow:
    Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql://192.168.0.7/base1", "user", "password");
    2.3 But a message appears when I run the Java Program:
    java.sql.SQLException:Access denied for user: '[email protected]' (Using password: YES)
    2.4 As you can see it changes the IP Address...
    More notes:- I have the MySQL Query Browser and I got connection.
    - The IP that display the Error Message is my Second IP configurated on my Network Properties.
    - Server is a Pentium 4 3.0 GHz 2Gb Linux Red Hat 3.0
    I leave this case for the spider... I hope that somebady has the solution.
    What is the problem? Why the JDBC doesn't respect the IP that I wrote.

    Read the user manual that came w/your Airport router or you can cross-post in one of the  AirPort Forums for instructions.

  • Denying unwanted access for a user to a database

    Hi,
    Is there a mechanism in Oracle using which we can deny access to a user based on invalid login attempts made ? For example, in case a user logs in for the first time with an incorrect password, does the same the second time also, so at his third attempt, can we block the user and prevent login for say 24 hours ?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Mohan.

    Although I have not addressed this issue myself, it seems that it would be possible to setup this functionality yourself.
    1) Make sure you have auditing turned on.
    2) Create a logon trigger that searches audit logs for user from the terminal you are interested in and raises an application error if there as been 3 or more failed "create session" attempts in the last 24 hours.
    Regards
    Tim Boles
    Well this was fun....I am not sure it is "full proof" but I had fun trying to figure it out...took a little bit of researching on google and through the Oracle documents but hey you can tailor it to your needs.
    Turn auditing on
    Update your initialization file to have audit_trail=true
    bounce the database
    As sysdba
    SQL>audit create session;
    SQL>
    create or replace trigger logon_time after logon on database
    declare numfailed number;
    begin
    select count(1)

  • Password - why can't adminstrators access customer password

    I am a system adminstrator for two sites and I am becoming increasingly frustrated at the inability to access customer passwords.  I have a number of custoemrs who regularly forget their passwords who are not particularly computer savvy and I am not able to help them without a lot of phone/email support.  Whereas under the previous system I could communicate their password to them saving both of us a great deal of time and energy.
    I am very aware that BC changed the system to deny access to passwords for all but the customer but this for my sites is ridiculous.  I have access to all info that my customers have and I can 'change/update' any customer info on my site so why can I not access their password.
    This is extremely frustrating as the current process assumes computer literate users and that the system 'Forgotten Password' tokens work - the latter is not always the case and I have  a current support request to this effect.
    I would appreciate someone who knows the system well to explain to me the rationale behinds BC's change to password access adn what is the reality re how this enhances cuntomer security when the systems administrator has access to all that customers data.
    Richard

    Hey Richard. I think you miss understand here.
    Most secure systems - no password in the admin. You have the button in the admin to send a email for the reset request. This will also show (if you sort the site correctly) on the form they use to login.
    Both use the reset email and again, ensuring that is set up correct is something you have access to and ensure has the elements and worded as you need them to be.
    If people keep forgetting their password that to be quite frank it is their problem, why should a system become less secure because of this?
    Do good systems do this? No , should they change? heck no.
    Set up the processes to so the flow is easy to reset (which you have control over) and if they keep forgetting then they need to change them to something they wont forget.
    Are you going to contact Apple and their Itunes store and ask them for your password? They wont know and not provide it to you, they do not know as it is in encrypted.
    Like any systems you may also be aware of they say "No customer support respresentitive will ask for your pasword or provide you with your password". Etc.
    This will not change.

  • Unexpected Access to Other Users' Accounts

    I just discovered tonight that I when I search for files, files in other user's accounts on this computer show up. I can open them too, but throwing them away requires that user's password. Searching the internet to see if this is a normal feature, I find questions about how to access other user's files and comments that even administrators cannot do this. Is this normal or abnormal behavior? Fast user switching is not enabled. Does anyone know where solid information can be found about the "barriers" between users' accounts? Thanks.

    Ah, thanks, BDAqua. I see that at the user level, each user folder is set to read only. So if the users aren't saving their files in their enclosed "no access" folders, but at their base user level, they are read only. If we set each user folder to "no access", then others would not be able to access the shared folder either. Is there a way to set access priviledges for users on this computer so that they're the same for users on this network? Users on the network only see the "drop box" when they open a user folder.

  • [solved] mysql suddenly access denied for user root ..

    Hi folk,
    I am in total panic right now!
    As of an hour ago i suddenly got 'Error establishing a database connection' from all of my sites

    OK super random, it works now.
    First off I too took and added skip-grant-tables to [mysqld] /etc/mysql/my.cnf
    restarted mysqld and finally had passwordless login. From within mysql i ran
    UPDATE mysql.user SET Password=PASSWORD('password') WHERE User='root';
    FLUSH PRIVILEGES;

  • I can no longer access a password protected Numbers file with the correct password. Error message only says the file "cannot be opened."

    I'm using Numbers version 3.2.2.
    Suddenly I cannot access my password protected Numbers file with the correct password. I have the correct password written down so I know I haven't made a mistake.
    The response box that pops up says that the file cannot be opened. There are no other options for me to choose from.

    Also, I tried to open it through an older version of Numbers but it sent this error message.

    Hi,
    I am assuming that you have already updated the EUL in the Administrator Edition, correct? If not, open Discoverer Administrator and login to the database you want to connect to. You must use your EUL user name which I assume has already been created and assigned the correct privileges in the database. You will be asked to update your EUL. Follow the prompts.
    Once logged into the EUL, go to Tools \ Privileges and find the user that you want to give administrator access to.
    Hopefully, this answers your question.

  • Error when trying to access the RBAC User editor and Message tracking

    Hi,
    I am getting an error when trying to access the RBAC User editor and Message tracking on the Web Mgmt interface. I verified that the admin account trying to access is in the Organization Management group and has the correct Role Assignment Policy applied.
    I searched through this thread below and saw that matching the msExchRoleLink and msExchUserLink attributes fixed the issue.
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/fc568cc6-8691-4127-b70b-bcc82f9b1f7f/first-2010-cas-server-no-administrator-rights-emc-permissions-gone?forum=exchange2010
    However I have another environment where this is not the case and works just fine; the msExchUserLink attribute has a value of CN=Organization Management,OU=Microsoft Exchange Security Groups,DC=Domain,DC=Local which is different as per the issue outlined in
    the above thread so I am not convinced that this will work and also don’t want to blindly edit something in adsiedit without being sure.
    I then checked the event logs on the server and saw the below error logged;

    I then had a look at the IIS permissions for ecp and owa. The account did not have permissions so I added them there but still got the same error. I’ve also tried all of the above with a newly-created account but still got the same issue.
    Any ideas as to what the above event log is specifically referring to?

    Hi,
    From your description, I would like to clarify the following thing:
    If you want to search message tracking logs, the account you use should be a member of the role groups below:
    Organization Management role group, Records Management role group, Recipient Management role group.
    Hope this can be helpful to you.
