Access to non spatial tables in oracle mapviewer/ oracle maps V2

Hello,
We want to have access to non spatial oracle tables (for value list creation etc), existing in oracle mapviewer spatial datasource (ex datasource: MVDEMO/ nospatial table: Employees).
We have allready created the datasource MVDEMO and we want to avoid the creation of an external datasource to the same oracle user.
Thxs,
Bill

Thanks.  Your answer was very helpful.  It pointed me in the right direction.  I wanted to be able to generate a table, below the map, which listed all the points (and their associated data) shown on the map.  The simplified code I used is shown below.  The function is called using an event listener (map.addListener(OM.event.MapEvent.LAYER_ADDED, createTable) which fires after the pointlayer is added to the map.
function createTable(evt) {
    var tableRecords = pointLayer.getAllFeatures();
    var tableRecordsAttr = pointLayer.getAttributeNames();
    divElem = document.createElement('div');
    tableElem = document.createElement('table');
    tbodyElem = document.createElement('tbody');
    rowElem = document.createElement('tr');
    // create the table headings
    for (var i = 0; i < tableRecordsAttr.length; i++) {
        colElem = document.createElement('th');
        colElem.appendChild(document.createTextNode(tableRecordsAttr[i]));
        rowElem.appendChild(colElem);
    tbodyElem.appendChild(rowElem);
    // populate each row of the table with data
    for (var i = 0; i < tableRecords.length; i++) {
        rowElem = document.createElement('tr');
        for (var j = 0; j < tableRecordsAttr.length; j++) {
            colElem = document.createElement('td');
            colElem.appendChild(document.createTextNode(tableRecords[i].getAttributes()[tableRecordsAttr[j]]));
            rowElem.appendChild(colElem);
        tbodyElem.appendChild(rowElem);
    tableElem.appendChild(tbodyElem);
    divElem.appendChild(tableElem);
    document.getElementsByTagName('body')[0].appendChild(divElem);

  • Access attributes for a non spatial table from mapViewer JavaScript API

    I have a non spatial table that contains bridge attributes that are identified by a unique bridge number. There is a spatial table containing the bridge location and bridge no. I have tried to add both tables as a JDBC theme but there is no attribute data:
    var baseQuery="select b.obj, b.bridge_no, b.travel_direction_code, cway_code "+
    ", m.design_load_code DESIGN_LOAD "+
    " from bridge b LEFT OUTER JOIN BRIDGE_MISCELLANEOUS m on b.id= m.bridge_id where b.road_no ='" + roadNo+"'";
    var theme = '<themes><theme name="JDBC_THEME_BRIDGE" >' +
    '<jdbc_query ' +
    'datasource="wms" '+
    'jdbc_srid="28355" ' +
    'spatial_column="obj" '+
    'asis="true" ' +
    'render_style="M.BRIDGE_BW">' + baseQuery +
    '</jdbc_query></theme></themes>' ;
    bridgeTheme = new MVThemeBasedFOI('bridgeTheme1',theme);
    This displays the bridges ok but there is no attribute data it seems like the query only returns the spatial object. Is there another way to access the attributes?

    add the hidden_info tag to the theme def as in:
    var theme = "<theme name='JDBC_THEME' fetch_size='200'>" +
    "<jdbc_query spatial_column='geom' jdbc_srid='8307' " +
    "render_style='m.star' datasource='mvdemo'>select geom, id, name from test_points" +
    "<hidden_info>"+
    " <field column=\"NAME\" name=\"My name\"/>"+
    " <field column=\"ID\" />"+
    "</hidden_info>"+
    "</jdbc_query></theme>" ;

  • How to programmatically connect to MS Access linked tables to oracle ?

    Hi,
    I have database in MS Access which has linked table in oracle database.
    But I am not able to connect to that linked table through java program .
    It gives me java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] ODBC--connection to 'servername' failed.
    Can anybody suggest me how to tackle this problem?

    This blog post should have most (if not all) of what you need:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/heyscriptingguy/archive/2009/02/16/how-can-i-use-windows-powershell-to-create-an-office-access-database.aspx
    One thing to watch out for is the db provider for the connection string.  The "Jet Engine" has been superseded by
    ACE.

  • Does CDC work on spatial tables?

    I'm trying to prototype using change data capture on some spatial tables. I'm able to create the cdc tables and subsribe, etc. with no errors. But when I go to try and update a record in my spatial table I keep getting the following errors:
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-31495: error in synchronous change table on "FULL"."GEONAME_FEATURE"
    ORA-01733: virtual column not allowed here
    My non-spatial tables that I set up the same way work fine for updates and inserts.
    The spatial CDC table and the base spatial table look the same. Is there something about Spatial that prohibits it from being used with change data capture?

    This might be related to bug 3561140 - we are working with the appropriate folks in Oracle to try to resolve it. If you can post your view definition then we can try to ensure this is fixed at the same time (a small test case would be appreciated).

  • Does Oracle Mapviewer / Oracle Maps require a license ?

    G'days Guys,
    Firstly apologies if this question has been answered before, but I've not been able find anything under Mapviewer or Spatial Forums regarding Oracle Maps / Mapviewer license.
    Can anyone confirm if Mapviewer is Free ? I was under the impression that it comes "free" with the OracleAS which itself requires a license however as long as mapviewer was being run under the OC4J container or Tomcat it was Free ?
    I've tried looking on the Mapviewer Website but can't find any information regarding it being licensed or free ?
    Regards
    Mark

    Hi, Mark
    As I know, Mapviewer is licensed now under Oracle Application Server and Weblogic Server.
    If you want to deploy it to third party J2EE container, you still need a license (OAS or Weblogic)
    try to search the forums, there was the same question

  • S_TABU_DIS and non-classified tables (&NC&)

    Does anyone have any insight into providing display access to non-classified tables (&NC&) via authorization object S_TABU_DIS.  Our specific issue at this point is via SE16 with display only access.  Our testing has shown that tables without any authorzation group assigned required a value of (&NC&) in field DICBERCLS in order to make SE16 work.  The challenge is that we have a number of custom tables without any authorization group which means we need to provide &NC&.  If we do this the users automatically get access all the non-classified tables.

    If there is an intention / requirement to display a table, then the best practice way is to create a view in SM30, assign an auth group to the table via SE54, and then create a transaction in SE93 to call that view. Or search for an existing one.
    There are parameter transactions; basically the same thing as SM30.... except the users dont know that. You can also add your own additional checks on other auth objects.
    ''&NC&' means "not classified" as there is no requirement to control the access for the data browser transactions, because there is no intention that a user should display or change them in your concept.
    Cheers,
    Julius

    How to pass data in clause in a better way

    Why are you creating a duplicate post? I already asked you to post p_cd_common.get_table_from_string. In particular what is function return type and where it is declared. As I already mentioned, most likely function return type is declared in the package and therefore is PL/SQL type. And TABLE operator can only work with SQL types.

  • ORA-22905: cannot access rows from a non-nested table item in Table func

    I am using a table function in Oracle 8.1.7.4.0. I did declare an object type and a collection type like this:
    CREATE TYPE t_obj AS OBJECT ...
    CREATE TYPE t_tab AS TABLE OF t_obj;
    My table function returns t_tab and is called like this:
    SELECT ... FROM TABLE (CAST (my_pkg.table_fnc AS t_tab)) ...
    This works pretty well as long as I run it in the same schema that owns the function and the 2 types. As soon as I run this query from another schema, I get an ORA-22905: cannot access rows from a non-nested table item error, even though I granted execute on both the types and the function to the other user and I created public synonyms for all 3 objects.
    As soon as I specify the schema name of t_tab in the cast, the query runs fine:
    SELECT ... FROM TABLE (CAST (my_pkg.table_fnc AS owner.t_tab)) ...
    I don't like to have a schema hard coded in a query, therefore I'd like to do this without the schema. Any ideas of how to get around this error?

    Richard,
    your 3 statements are correct. I'll go ahead and log a TAR.
    Both DESCs return the same output when run as the other user. And, running the table function directly in SQL*Plus (SELECT my_pkg.table_fnc FROM dual;) also returns a result and no errors. The problem has to be in the CAST function.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Oracle 11.2 - Perform parallel DML on a non partitioned table with LOB column

    Hi,
    Since I wanted to demonstrate new Oracle 12c enhancements on SecureFiles, I tried to use PDML statements on a non partitioned table with LOB column, in both Oracle 11g and Oracle 12c releases. The Oracle 11.2 SecureFiles and Large Objects Developer's Guide of January 2013 clearly says:
    Parallel execution of the following DML operations on tables with LOB columns is supported. These operations run in parallel execution mode only when performed on a partitioned table. DML statements on non-partitioned tables with LOB columns continue to execute in serial execution mode.
    INSERT AS SELECT
    CREATE TABLE AS SELECT
    DELETE
    UPDATE
    MERGE (conditional UPDATE and INSERT)
    Multi-table INSERT
    So I created and populated a simple table with a BLOB column:
    SQL> CREATE TABLE T1 (A BLOB);
    Table created.
    Then, I tried to see the execution plan of a parallel DELETE:
    SQL> EXPLAIN PLAN FOR
      2  delete /*+parallel (t1,8) */ from t1;
    Explained.
    SQL> select * from table(dbms_xplan.display);
    PLAN_TABLE_OUTPUT

    Session altered.

    Is it normal ? It is not supposed to be supported on Oracle 11g with non-partitioned table containing LOB column....
    Thank you for your help.
    Michael

    Yes I did it. I tried with force parallel dml, and that is the results on my 12c DB, with the non partitionned and SecureFiles LOB column.

  • More than one SDO_GEOMETRY columns in one Oracle 8i spatial table

    I have a spatial table as follows:
    CREATE TABLE TEST(
    ID VARCHAR2(255) NOT NULL,
    POINT MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY,
    LINE MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY,
    POLYGON MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY,
    PRIMARY KEY(ID));
    Is it a good practice to have more than one SDO_GEOMETRY columns
    in one spatial table? What are the drawbacks if any to have a
    spatial with more than one layer?

    I have one question about more than one SDO_GEOMETRY columns
    in one table in Oracle 8.1.7. When I wanted to create two
    spatial indices for this table, every time I got some error.
    Can anyone tell me how to figure it out?
    Thanks very much,
    Fan Fan,
    You need to insert metadata record before creating spatial
    indices.
    Try the following:
    REM USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA :
    REM insert a row for the geom layer for TEST TEST2 tables
    REM
    INSERT INTO USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA
    ( TABLE_NAME, COLUMN_NAME, DIMINFO, SRID)
    VALUES ('TEST', 'POINT', MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ARRAY
    (MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ELEMENT('LON', -180,
    180, .000005),MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ELEMENT('LAT', -90, 90, .000005)),
    NULL);
    INSERT INTO USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA
    ( TABLE_NAME, COLUMN_NAME, DIMINFO, SRID)
    VALUES ('TEST', 'LINE', MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ARRAY
    (MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ELEMENT('LON', -180,
    180, .000005),MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ELEMENT('LAT', -90, 90, .000005)),
    NULL);
    INSERT INTO USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA
    ( TABLE_NAME, COLUMN_NAME, DIMINFO, SRID)
    VALUES ('TEST', 'POLYGON', MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ARRAY
    (MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ELEMENT('LON', -180,
    180, .000005),MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ELEMENT('LAT', -90, 90, .000005)),
    NULL);
    REM create a spatial index based on TRAFFIC.GEOM
    REM
    REM
    CREATE INDEX TEST_G_POINT_IDX ON TEST(POINT) INDEXTYPE IS
    MDSYS.SPATIAL_INDEX;
    CREATE INDEX TEST_G_LINE_IDX ON TEST(LINE) INDEXTYPE IS
    MDSYS.SPATIAL_INDEX;
    CREATE INDEX TEST_G_POLYGON_IDX ON TEST(POLYGON) INDEXTYPE IS

  • How to access remote tables on Oracle from Access fron end?

    Note: Access application and access tables are in separate .mdb files.
    I've successfully migrated my Access 2000 tables to Oracle. And there were no errors during the migration. The two original Access tables were renames to tblBOMdetail_L and tblPartInfo_L and two new linked tables were created with the _R name. Mapping queries were created for tblBOMdetail and tblPartInfo.
    However, when I launch my Access application, I get the following error: "The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot find the input table or query 'tblPartInfo'. Make sure that it exists and that its name is spelled correctly."
    Is there something more that I have to do to enable this connection. I already have the necessary ODBC connection set up.
    Thanks.

    Hi ,
    The first thing you need to verify is that you can view the data in the tables with _R appended to their name. This will verify whether the ODBC link is set up correctly and pointing at the correct Oracle table in the Oracle database.
    Another point. Are you still using 2 .mdb files? If so since your data is now in Oracle it may be prudent to use only one .mdb.

    ThanksYou can grant it the select catalog role to the user. It should provide all the required access to the general v$* & dba_* views.
    GRANT SELECT_CATALOG_ROLE TO USER;
    Let me know if this helps.
