Access to weblogic 10.3 with  a jdk 1.3 client?

We have an old software with a framework based on jdk 1.3 that we don't want to update.
Is there a chance to connect to the Weblogic Server from that jdk 1.3 Application?!

You may run into incompatible class versions issue. Basically you have altogehter 2 different JVMs. One for EJBs (utility framework as you defiined using 1.3). Another JVM is weblogic server using JDK 1.6 where you have Client to remotely access those EJBs methods. Going back, when you generate the client stubs and skeletons, and refer them on your client side, did you ran into any issues like with incompatible class versions.

  • Providing developers with access to WebLogic logs

    Hi all,
    I keep getting asked by developers for access to WebLogic logs in restricted test environments. But due to security policies, I can't just create an account for them. In one of my previous roles we just gave developers access to a WeLogic monitor account (read-only), but I find the WebLogic admin console is not user friendly for viewing logs.
    To overcome this, I created a really simple WebLogic app that lets the developers access all logs files on the managed servers.
    I've blogged a quick how-to here for anyone interested in doing the same: [http://connectionserver.blogspot.com/2009/05/listing-directories-simple-weblogic.html|http://connectionserver.blogspot.com/2009/05/listing-directories-simple-weblogic.html]
    Hope it helps someone :)
    P.S. Perhaps someone could modify it to restrict access to certain roles.

  • Weblogic 9.0 on WinXP 64bit with Sun JDK 64bit

    I installed Weblogic 9.0 on WindowXP 64bit version and it's fine with build in Sun's JDK and JRockit JDK but as soon as I switch to Sun's 64bit implementation of JDK (update 5) it fails to start.
    Am I doing something wrong or it is not compatible with 64bit JDK on windows platform?
    If so are there any plans to make it compatible with Sun's JDK 64bit version on windows platform in the near future, or any chance of 64bit JRockit JDK for windows?

  • Issue listeneing queue from Weblogic Cluster server with multiple managed server

    Haveing issue listeneing queue from Weblogic Cluster server with multiple managed server.
    Weblogic Cluster structure is like
    Weblogic Cluster01
      --ManagedServer01(http://server01.myhost.com:7001)
      --ManagedServer02(http://server02.myhost.com:7001)
    JMS Servers
      JMSserver01 targeting: ManagedServer01
      JMSserver02 targeting: ManagedServer02
      JMSmodule
      ConnectionFactory01 targeting:JMSserver01,JMSserver02
      UDQueue01 targeting:JMSserver01,JMSserver02
    Uniform Distributed Queue in Monitoring tab showing like this
      mysystemmodule!JMSserver01@UDQueue01
      mysystemmodule!JMSserver02@UDQueue01
    So when I am sending message to any Host(by specifying the provider URL) its distributing equally on both server like
      mysystemmodule!JMSserver01@UDQueue01 10
      mysystemmodule!JMSserver02@UDQueue01 10
    But when try to listen message from these queue, it is listening from one server, for which URL given to connect.
      mysystemmodule!JMSserver01@UDQueue01 0
      mysystemmodule!JMSserver02@UDQueue01 10
    untill I connect to other server by giveing its URL, will not able to access other message left on the queue.
    Solutions that tried
      1) we have tried give both server URL coma sparated in provider URL
    we need to configur same scenario for 5 managed server with 3 listener on other servers.
    Do any one have solution for this.

    You need to have:
    1. Consumers connected to each UDQ member
    OR
    2. If no consumers in some of the members is expected, you can configure Forward Delay (specify the amount of time, in seconds, that a queue member with messages, but with no consumers, will wait before forwarding its messages to other queue members that do have consumers):
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E12839_01/apirefs.1111/e13952/taskhelp/jms_modules/distributed_queues/ConfigureUDQGeneral.html
    For example you can set it to 10 (10s)

    hi JavaCrazyLover
    u got why u getting the error i ma getting similar error its running fine in 8.1 but in web9.1 it is giving errors in some jsp pages may be due to versions or name spacing ie we write in top of the page DTD schema am not sure but i think , there is no jars to add on as such web 9.1 is upgraded one and it supports all files some where there will be conflicts between versions example JDK 1.5and 1.4 enum is a keyword in 9.1 but in normal in 8.1 if u get the solution for this error please mail me to [email protected]

  • -Xmx1024M is working with Jrockit but not with Sun JDK.

    Hi,
    We have a window server box with 8GB RAM. in which there are few other processes running apart from that we have more than 1GB space available.
    We have weblogic 10.3 present in this system. when we try to Run a managed server with JRockit JVM with -Xmx as 1024M -- it is allocating the space properly.
    but when we try the same with Sun JDK , it is failing to allocate memory.
    Please let me know if any one have come across this situaton.

    Maybe you have a large number of DLLs loaded and have insufficient amounts of contiguous free memory for the Sun JVM? Unlike Sun, JRockit does not require a contiguous heap.

  • Using Java Access bridge (Accessibility) with oracle forms 6.0 client

    I'm trying to use JAB (java Access bridge ) to capture events in oracle forms 6.0 client .
    I've a Jinitiator 1.1.8 and JRE version 1.4x
    I've configured JAB as per the installation guide . However the events don't surface in Java Monkey .
    Has anybody encountered similar issue ? what is the solution for the issue ??
    Also on one of the forums I read Jinitiator 1.3x and above is automatically recognised by Java Access bridge .
    For jinitiator version less than 1.3 manual configuration is required . however I haven;'t been able to find any on the oracle forms KB
    Also here is the excerpt from the link http://www.oracle.com/us/corporate/accessibility/faqs/index.html
    Q: Are there special steps for using Java-based applications with assistive technology?
    A: If the Oracle application is written in Java, such as JDeveloper or Oracle Forms (runtime), customers must first install the latest version of Sun's Java Access Bridge. The Java Access Bridge provides the integration with screen readers such as JAWS or SuperNova that support Java. You just download the Access Bridge and install it. Sun's AccessBridge 2.0x recognizes Oracle's JInitiator 1.3x and above so no manual configuration steps are necessary. The Access Bridge is available from: http://java.sun.com/products/accessbridge. At the time this document was written, Access Bridge 2.0.1 is the most current publicly available production release; Oracle recommends upgrading to this version. Sun's AccessBridge is bundled with Oracle Universal Installer (OUI) and can be found in the Java Runtime Engine (JRE). More information for configuring such products is in the respective product documentation, or on http://www.oracle.com/us/corporate/accessibility/products/index.html.

    Help!Can't access iCloud (pics apps) even with correct password. Won't download my stored info on my new phone

    That happens because photo stream photos only remain in iCloud for 30 days, even though your last 1000 photo stream photos remain on your devices until deleted.  When you enabled photo stream on your iPod 4, you only received photo stream photos from the last 30 days as older photos are no longer in iCloud.  If you want to stream these older photos to your new iPod, you will have to create a shared photo stream on your old one that contains these photos (requires iOS 6 or higher) and invite yourself as a subscriber, as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmc0cd7e99.

    That's simply not possible I'm afraid. You'd need to give them their own account and allowance or make it so you are required to be there to input the password when they wish to make a purchase.

  • Client Code not connecting to WebLogic 8.1 with Mutual Authentication

    I am trying to connect to a WebLogic 8.1 web services application. The weblogic instance has mutual authentication enabled, so the client needs to send a certificate when it does an SSL handshake with the server. I am trying to connect with standalone Java JUnit tests. Both the web services and the JUnit tests are using Apache Axis 1.4.0. I've obtained what I believe to be the appropriate certificates from the weblogic administrator that configured the mutual authentication. There is a certificate for the machine I'm trying to connect to, and two other certificates in the chain (three certificates all together, including the root). I've tried several different methods of putting those three certificates in keystores and trust keystores, reading in those keystores in my java code, and connecting to the web services, and I always end up with the same error in the WebLogic server logs. "Certificate chain receved from <ip address> was incomplete."
    Here is an example of my code:
    I initialize like so:
         Properties tempProperties = // (here is where I obtain my properties from a properties file... code removed for security reasons)
         System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStore", tempProperties.getProperty("trust.keystore.file"));
         System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword", tempProperties.getProperty("trust.keystore.password"));
         System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStoreType", "jks");
         System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStore", tempProperties.getProperty("keystore.file"));
         System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword", tempProperties.getProperty("keystore.password"));                         System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStoreType", "jks");
         System.setProperty ( "java.protocol.handler.pkgs", "com.sun.net.ssl.internal.www.protocol" );
         Security.addProvider ( new com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.Provider ( ) );
    I bind to the appropriate port and locate the service, etc. using auto-generated methods descendant from Apache Axis. No matter what I try, I get the same results. The client says: main, handling exception: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: Received fatal alert: handshake_failure
    The server log says: Certificate chain received from <ip address> was incomplete.
    I've even tried implementing a custom SSL handler as described here http://alweb.homeip.net/dw0rm/dblog/?p=38, and I can verify by stepping into my code that everything gets initialized and set up correctly, and that all three certificates in the chain that I need are obtained from my keystore, but I still get the same error on the client and the server. I've enabled ssl handshake debugging on my client and I can see the whole certificate chain being output to the debug console.
    Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

    My guess would be that the server is not able to validate your certificate. Make sure that the CA for your certificate is trusted by WLS.
    I always like to debug something like this by add -Djavax.net.debug=ssl to both the client and server. It should give you a complete picture of what is going on.
