Accessing ABAP Functions in Web Dynpro

Hi all,
for testing reasons I would like to implement a simple Web Dynpro Application which access APAP functions (or BAPIs) on a remote SAP backend system. The problem is that I dont have a SAP backend system
There is a tutorial :

My question:
Is it possible to comply to all these prerequisites by installing NetWeaver Preview and minisap as remote SAP backend system ? Where can I get minisap ?
I'm quite new to SAP so I'm al little unsure which part belongs where.
Maybe someone can give me a hint.

Accessing ABAP Functions in Web Dynpro Java in CE7.1

Hi,
I have a CE7.1 SP5 system installed and no access to an SLD. How can I use BAPIS of an R3 backend system within a Web Dynpro application? Adaptive RFC only works with an SLD, right?

if u want work RFC model u have to create JCO Connections in Portal . the u can give destination and import your bapi from r/3 System.

Application Accessing ABAP Functions

Hi,
I am trying to access the ABAP function in Web Dynpro application as explained in example applications which i got from the site "www.sdn.sap.com" eLearning.
It is using Bapi_Flight_Getlist_Input ABAP function.
In First view i enter deparcher city name and arival city name and i expect the list of flight in table in next view but it is displaying Empty table.
What might be the problem.Can any body help me.

Error - Creating a Web Dynpro Application Accessing ABAP Functions

we are trying to implement a web dynpro application with accessing ABAP functions.
Previous tasks:
-     insert the ABAP system into the SLD from the NWDI System (Transaction RZ70; the ABAP system is correctly insert into the SLD => technical systems)
-     equipped the JCO connections with the web dynpro content manager (ping and test = OK)
Its the standard tutorial out of the SDN called Creating a Web Dynpro Application Accessing ABAP Functions.

-     There are no errors after the implementation and the rebuild of the project in the NWDS
-     The auto deployment works fine to the development runtime system. The application is shown in the Web Dynpro content manager

-     Im able to start the application out of the Web Dynpro content manager with run => only the user interface is displayed without any functionality
-     The normal start over the NWDS fails => error text

There two different URLs in use.
Start via NWDS:

Start via web dynpro content manager:

For test purposes, we started the BAPI (BAPI_Flight_Getlist) on the ABAP system directly. It works.
Any ideas about the system behaviours (different URLs and missing functionality)?

Again, I'll insist you to please check if your view is embeded in the Window.
write some output message in the view to ensure that not only gui's, even the messages in the view are not coming.

Access UME information in Web Dynpro for ABAP application

We have an WDA iView deployed in a NW2004 Enterprise Portal. We have mapped the Enterprise Portal UME to our corporate LDAP. How do we access this UME information within the WDA iView ? Besides the user id there are specific security flags that the WDA application needs.

ESS BP is a portal content (runs only on portal runtime) which can only be deployed and run on SAP J2EE server (So it is java based).

From EHP2 for ECC 6.0, you have an option choose ABAP WebDynpro for Travel related services. However, the portal content (iViews) is still on SAP J2EE server.

Print Functionality for Web Dynpro ABAP Application

Hi All,
I am using the standard print button provided by FPM in my application.
The application has a date navigator control as well as a dynamic ALV with fixed and on fixed columns.
I would like to know if the application has to do any implementation to provide print functionality. If yes, how do we do it?
Will it consider all the ALV columns as the ALV could have horizontal scroll bar.
How do we test it?
Defining output device in our user as LOCL is enough to test it? Are there any limitations?
Findings until now:
I just happened to see that gc_event_print FPM event is raised and the application uses interactive PDF form to implement printing.
I am not sure if this satisfies my requirement.
Could you help me in providing more information regarding this? You could also provide me some web dynpro examples for reference.

As you are already suspecting, the FPM doesn't provide the print functionality itself. It only raises the event and the specific application is then responsible for how it wants to produce the output. Therefore it is your job to design the output (generally using PDF forum).

Accessing anonymous user in web dynpro application

I have created one web dynpro application for internet site (Anonymous user). While trying to retrieve the Iuser through web dynpro application, it is coming <b>null</b> coz user is Anonymous if i am not wrong.
So I am not able to read the property file from the KM and based on the value coming from the property file i am setting in the drop down.

i did the same thing den code is working and values are coming from the property file but i m going to place this application in the Internet.
There i can't ask user to enter User-Id and PWD.
I tried to use IWDClient's object and through this i m accessing getSAPUser().
here is the code that i m using:-

ABAP Objects and Web Dynpro

Hello everyone,
I would like to know if it is possible to have instances of a class as a part of a controller context. You know, like if you added a service call to a BAPI or a function group, but with method calls to an object instead.
I have a feeling, that it is uncommon to bring Web Dynpro and the object orientation of ABAP Objects together.
For example, i don't want the event handling code of my controllers to call function groups, which in turn make calls to my object oriented model. Is there a way to skip that nasty imperative step?
Sorry for asking questions which may sound vague or naive, I'm kind of a beginner regarding Web Dynpro and ABAP.

There's no need at all to have function modules in the way.
You can have either controller attributes or context attributes defined as object references, and then call methods from those objects instead...
In both cases, you just have to use TYPE REF TO instead of TYPE when defining the attributes.
Furthermore, if you have a central class through which you interact with your OO model, you can define it as Assistance class and then you'll have an instance automatically in all the controllers...the drawback / advantage is that you do not control its instantiation which is done by the framework.
