  • Calling discoverer report from Oracle report

    Hi
I need to call a discoverer report from an Oracle report.
Could someone pls let me know how you did it?
    Thanks.

If the Oracle Discoverer Report is accessible by an URL then yes. It will be similar to calling Oracle Reports. See http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/howtos/howto_integrate_oracle_reports.html

  • Passing Parameters to Discoverer report from ORacle Forms

    Hi All,
Can I pass a value to a parameter defined in the discoverer page from a D2k form? I want to call a discovere page from fmb while passing a parameter.
This is extremely urgent for me. Pl help .
    Thank you and Regards,
    Vaibhav M. Shah.

    Hi ,
Are you saying I should create a new workbook that is not based on my custom folder for setting and showing the context value? You don't need to create a new workbook, you can just create a new worksheet in your report workbook, but you will need two sheets to use contexts. The sheet that sets the contexts should not be based on your custom folder, but on a folder that returns a single row. You cannot set and check contexts in a single SQL statement, so you have to have 2 worksheets.
You can default the contexts using a trigger or initialisation SQL so that the user only has to set the contexts if they are not using the defaults.

  • Not able to print PDF report from Oracle APPS

    adcmctl.sh version 115.17.
We have a network printer HP Laserjet 4250 which is configured on our concurrent manager server of RH Linux OS. We are using HP LASERJET 4250 Postscript driver. We are able to print PDF's directly however through CC manager we are not able to print reports in Proper PDF format. Has anyone faced such an issue with Oracle Apps?

  • Open a default discoverer worksheet from Oracle Apps

    Hi,
We know how to create a form function link and attach it to a menu to open a discoverer workbook. But if the discoverer workbook has multiple worksheets, the form function link opens a intermediate page which shows the available worksheets in the workbook. And we can choose the required worksheet.
But, is it possible to open one of these sheets directly by clicking on the link rather than going to the intermediate page. (i.e. make one of the worksheets in the workbook as default worksheet.)
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi, PaulTian ,
Have you find the solution? I have the same problem, and it world not be responsibility reasons. The webservice worked well ,but it stopped when applied a patch.

  • Integrating mod_plsql reports with Oracle Apps. A maddening dilemma.

I'm hoping there is some guru out there that has the perfect solution to this maddening dilemma I'm facing.
The crux of the issue is this.
I've created mod_plsql reports that can accept a session_id with which they can set a user context based on global application contexts set in Oracle applications by users as they log in.
At this juncture, I have not figured out a way to call those mod_plsql reports from Oracle apps using a variable session_id as defined for the user when they logged into apps.
My client want to be able to log into Oracle apps and then go to the mod_plsql reports from the Oracle Apps menu and maintain the user session, so that the mod_plsql reports are run using VPD to constrain access to the data they are displaying to that specific user.
The client does not have Single Sign On installed nor OID.
I had hoped to pass a variable parameter session_id from the defined menu function that would call the mod_plsql url, but I don't see any way to pass a variable there and am becoming convinced that doing so is not an option. Can anyone confirm this?
An alternate option I'm considering that seems like it would work is to create a JSP page that gets called from a menu function. In that JSP page, I would retrieve the session_id set in apps based on the context for the user_id that I could retrieve from fnd_global.user_id and assemble a URL with the session_id that the page would then re-route to the mod_plsql page.
Unfortunately, I'm not versed in JSP.
How hard would it be to create the sort of page that I'm talking about?
Would the JSP need to part of OAF?
Can anyone think of any other options that would take care of the issue I'm dealing with?
    Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback and sorry it took me so long to reply back. I don't recall seeing the session_id or user_id being passed as part of the function set up, but the rest definitely are. I may be mistaken.
I did come up with a solution that involved the following.
The package was in another schema, but granting execute to apps and creating a synonym in apps allowed for all mod_plsql output to be generated by Oracle's apps ias server.
I could capture the session_id and the user_id using a function referencing icx_session. I build an additional procedure that gets called first by the app so that it can set the session_id and user_id to a context then set a cookie that all subsequently generated pages reference with that info.
That's the short of it and at this point I've long moved on to other issues but it certainly was a relief to get it working. No jsp necessary.
    Thanks.

  • How to register the Discoverer workbook in Oracle Apps 12i

I am trying to access a workbook form the Apps side. I did all the things which I got from metalink except the last step 6. I reloginned and check but it is giving the error like
"The webpage cannot be found ".
    Please assisst me.
    1. Create the workbook.
    2. Open the workbook in the Discoverer Desktop or Plus edition and go to
'File->Manage Workbooks->Properties' look for the value for 'Identifier'. Save this value.
    3. Create a form function. Open the Function form and create a new function.
    Define the Form Function.
The form function definition includes the properties listed in these tabs:
    3.1 Description tab:
3.1.1 Function Name: BIS_[X] (use something to distinguish it from seeded functions)
3.1.2 User Function Name: This is the name that will show in the menu
3.1.3 Description: Add a description of the function if you want.
    3.2 Properties tab:
3.2.1 Type: Select "SSWA plsql function"
3.2.2 Maintenance Mode Support: Leave as "None"
3.2.3 Context Dependence: Leave as "Responsibility"
    3.3 Form tab:
3.3.1 Form: Leave the field blank.
3.3.2 Application: Leave the field blank.
    3.3.3 Parameters: workbook=<(workbook identifier from step2) &PARAMETERS=sheetid~worksheet id*param_parameter name One~Parameter One Value*param_parameter name Two~Parameter Two Value*
Eg; 'workbook=TEST_WORKBOOK&PARAMETERS=sheetid~1*' would open sheet 1 of the workbook.
    # According to the Applications Administration Edition the workbook name will also work here.
See Expanation section below for more information on setting up parameters and changes fro Discoverer Viewer.
    3.4 Web HTML tab:
    3.4.1 HTML call : Set as OracleOasis.RunDiscoverer
    3.5 Web Host tab:
    3.5.1 Leave all fields blank.
    3.6 Region tab:
    3.6.1 Leave all fields blank.
    3.7 Save the form.
    4. Open the menu form as sysadmin.
4.1 Search for the main menu under which you want the link to appear.
4.2 Add the information you need such as prompt, submenu, description etc.
4.3 Enter into the Function field the name of the function you created in step 3.
    4.4 Save the menu form.
A message will appear saying that a concurrent program will run to regenerate the menus.
You can cancel it if you want and do step 5 below if the menu does not appear after the concurrent program runs.
    5. Use adadmin and recompile the menu information to make the changes appear.
    6. Bounce Apache and Forms.
    Thanks,

    Hi Hussein,
Very much thanks to you Hussein. I gone through the doc 471303.1 and came to know that the options and values which we have to take for Launching Discoverer Report from 11i & 12i is differenet. Ohh great its working and I have a question when I am selecting the Discoverer Report function from the Apps the follwoing error is coming.
    A connection error.
    - Oracle BI Discoverer is unable to complete the connection initialization.
    - Default or specified schema containing EUL tables is inaccessible and asking for the log in details.
Can't we go directly to the Discoverer Viewer where we can see the Worksheets without coming through the login page.
    Once again thank you Hussein.

  • Discoverer 11g and Oracle apps

I have setup discoverer and everything is working.  When calling from oracle apps, I am getting this error:
Could not locate or parse the .dbc file /ebs02/prod/discoverer/Oracle/Middleware/asinst_2/config/Discoverer/Discoverer_asinst_2//corpdevpl200-fin_prod.dbc corresponding to the given Oracle Applications instance.
The problem is the double slash before the dbc file.  Where would the trailing slash come from? Any advice is appreciated.

The issue was that the opmn.xml file had a slash at the end of the fnd_secure variable, I removed it and the double slash problem was resolved!  I did not edit the script, this was from the install. Possibly not many people have integrated 11.1.1.7 discoverer with EBS and make the call to discoverer from menu in EBS, hence this has not been reported.

  • Error while running the Discoverer report from the command line.

    Hi All,
I've to run a discoverer report from command line and export the results in xls/html on to my local machine. This report I've to run it as batch and scheduled it.
I have a parameterized worksheet and this has to be run from command line specifying the parameter value I wanted to run the report for. I do not get any results. Here is the command line I am using.
    dis51usr /connect user/password@database /opendb "TIMS-PCJ status Report" /sheet "TIMS observation status report (based on performed date)" /parameter "Test Number" '40351' /parameter "From Date" '05-MAY-2008' /parameter "To Date" '06-MAY-2008' /export HTML "C:\DISCOVERER_REPORT_SCHEDULING\DIS_OUTPUT\PCJStOutputinHTML123"
I even added the TO_DATE conversion for the parameters and also gave the format of the date as 'DD_MON_YYYY'.
Discoverer Desktop opened up, logged in and gets terminated saying 'Oracle Discoverer Desktop has encountered a problem and need to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.'
    Please anyone reply me.
    Regards & Thanks,
    P. Gayathri Devi

    Hi Gayathri,
Try changing your parameter names to be a single word. (Change "Test Number" to Test_Number).
Does the report run fine when run through Desktop for the same parameter values? Which version of Discoverer are you using?
    Thanks.

  • Unable to run discoverer report from command prompt

    Hi,
I'm trying to run the discoverer report from command prompt and i need to schedule the same.
How could i pass multiple values for the parameters?
If i don't pass the optional parameters, the parameter screen is getting pop-up? How to skip optional parameters?
Also, how to pass the data ranges (format for date parameters) ?
I'm using the below command in command prompt:
    cd/d E:\oracle\BIToolsHome_1\bin
    dis51usr /connect username/password@database /opendb "TIMS-PCJ status Report" /sheet "TIMS observation status report (based on performed date)" /parameter "Test Number" 40351 /parameter "From Date" "01-JAN-2007" /parameter "To Date" "28-FEB-2007" /parameter "Observation Status" C /parameter "Observation Name" "Abdominal Girth" /export HTML "C:\DISCOVERER_REPORT_SCHEDULING\DIS_OUTPUT\PCJStatusOutput11"
Any one please reply me. Its very urgent.
    Regards,
    Sreedhar

    Hi,
How could i pass multiple values for the parameters? You should be able to use a comma separated list e.g.
    /parameter "Observation Name" "'Abdominal Girth','Abdominal Girth2'"
How to skip optional parameters?I don't think you can. You have to supply all parameters and then decode out the parameters you don't need in the workbook.
how to pass the data ranges You cannot pass a date range. You can pass a start and end parameters. The default format for the date parameters is DD-MON-YYYY but this can change depending on the NLS settings and format of the data item.
